Stood waiting to be served for 10 minutes and a waitress walked past umpteen times without saying a word. Not be back there.

According to the old adage, you get what you pay for — and in the case of the cafe at Morrisons, Arbroath, it is unedible burnt offerings. Two breakfasts purchased; an Ultimate Scottish Breakfast and a Full Scottish Breakfast. The half tomato on one plate was eaten, as were the rubbery fried eggs. But the fried bread, the bacon, black pudding, lorne sausage and potato scones were burnt to cinders — and left.

I was really hoping the lower scoring reviews were going to be wrong but they just aren't. We were told upon arriving there was no steaks, which half of our 12 person party were wanting. 20 mins for a drinks order so we elected to order food along with the drinks order. Starters left alot to be desired. Prawn cocktail was awful and the garlic bread was completely overpowering. Steak pie came with frozen veg which has gone cold. Pie itself was edible, mash was fine. Another person chose to have theirs with potatoes and these were undercooked. Someone was told they didn't have the belly pork right as we had just finished the starters too so they had to order again. Just awful and because of the experience and food quality, really poor value for money also.

Had a great lunch/dinner/snack? (whatever you want to call it), from dominos today! Call me dramatic if you please, but i had THE best cookies of my entire life. Came into the Arbroath store at about 16:04, was kindly greeted and served immediately! Left with perfectly made cookies (i mean it, they were genuinely perfect. golden and crispy around the outside, soft in the middle) within maybe 8 minutes of arriving? Anywho, staff were lovely, cookies were so good i ate all 4 in one sitting like an absolute glutton, all around a great time. Will be doing that again! Bonus- ‘Running up that hill’ was playing over the radio (bloody class tune that) :D!
