Montrose Fish Bar in Angus

On the two occasions I've had food delivered from here, which was about six months ago and tonight, both times the food did not arrive at the pre-booked time, when called to chase up was told it was already on its way, both times this was a lie and another call an hour later reassured me it was now on its way. Both times I assumed they must have forgotten to do the pre orders and so we would have a late hot meal. Both times the meal was ice cold, not a hint of warmth on it!! Add to that all the missing items that were 'not worth bringing round' it has been the final nail in the coffin. I didn't leave a review the first time because we all have bad nights but it's now clear that they actually just are consistently awful and have the pattern of lying to the customers. A bit of advice for the shop, if the meal will be over an hour late just say that. kids and adults can cope better knowing our food will not be here for ages rather than hovering about waiting on it, getting more and more frustrated...and a bigger bit of advice, if you want customers to return make sure they get all their meals and that they are HOT or even remotely warm! Also should add the food is not good goodluck to anyone waiting for a delivery!

Absolutely delicious food, I had breast of chicken supper and my wife had spicy chicken fillet supper, we ate in. Also very good value

Staying at a local hotel we decided to eat out .ordered fish supper fish was huge and tasty piping hot so we went back to the hotel to eat it in our room a few night later we tried the pizza chicken and ham delicious

Had a take away for the family, good choice of food, arrived hot and served in boxes enjoyed by everyone

came in today for a sit down fish and chip supper. it was a bit breezy at lunan bay today so we needed warming up. 2 lots of haddock supper, 1 sausage and chips, 1 cheese n chips. everybody enjoyed everything, no greasy batter, no dry chips, mushy peas and beans. not a gourmet establishment but we were looked after when we needed it and we'd come back again for the fish and chips.. a sign by the till said cash only so be prepared.

Have always loved their food. Just when I thought they could not improve the batter is superb.love this place. Staff so friendly always.every thing cooked to order and so clean.

Beautifully cooked Haddock. A great place for a fish supper. Friendly Staff. Clean modern shop. Must Visit.

Tea out before a night out . The place was quiet at 5pm that should have been a warning sign , Waited ages to be served ,we got a small pot of tea between us didnt even fill the cups then had an even longer wait on our food,i wish now we had walked out it would have saved us from having stomach upsets later that evening from the overly greasy batter on out fish and chicken,when complaining the lady behind the counter blamed a new start for slowness and that it was busy it wasn't! well everybody has to learn the girl should have had support .and I'm sure she wasn't to blame for the greasy food wont be back. Give this a wide swerve . Yuk

Poor service did not have what I wanted took my money then when I said I was sitting down she handed my money back and told to wait for my order 25 mins later ok. madness are playing but no excuse still waiting 30 mins down the line and still no food shocking service

Visited here after a day in stonehaven clean and tidy staff was lovely and chatty ordered fish supper omg to die for the fish was huge and so fresh il be completely honest the chips were a little dry but all in all lovely
