Mogador in Leeds

Long overdue positive review: Four of us went for a friend's birthday on 13th March and are still talking about how wonderful our experience was here: Absolutely beautiful food, brilliant service, gorgeous atmosphere, and we couldn't believe how inexpensive it was for everything. Have recommended to everyone who will listen, and will definitely be going back!

I took my Moroccan wife her and she loved it. Food reminded her of home. I loved the food also and for a brief moment felt like I was back in Morocco. Really good food and will be visiting again soon

Lovely meal before the cinema. Beautifully presented mezze, everything was really fresh and tasty. Very polite and friendly waitress who helped us with our selections from the extensive menu. Just lost a star on "atmosphere" because it was really cold. Will wrap up warmer next time we visit!

A gem of a place. A few of the neighbouring places are a bit lowest common denominator but this place is great for food and ambience. Friendly staff.

I went on a busy day. I ordered a pizza and chips. Pizza was lovely but the chips were overcooked n very brown. We got a lamb tagine- meat was very tough. We went to Morocco and the food was absolutely amazing. So thought to try here but unfortunately wasn’t pleased.

My friend and I recently decided to try out Mogador for dinner, based on an online recommendation. Prior to our visit, I called and was pleased to learn that the restaurant was halal and didn't require reservations. We arrived just after opening time to find the place empty, and the lovely waitress promptly seated us. However, we had to change our seats three times before even ordering due to the uncomfortably cold temperature in the restaurant. We ended up eating our meal with our coats and gloves still on. It is crucial for the manager to address this issue as it significantly impacted our dining experience. The food was quite good, though because of the cold, we asked to have it packed up to finish at home. We ordered the meatballs mezze platter, dolma and the Mogador lamb shank couscous to share. The meatballs and dolma were very nice, but the fancy plate the starters were all served on made it challenging to eat without food falling onto the table. Serving them in basic bowls would have been more practical. The lamb shank and steamed vegetables were perfectly cooked. Generally speaking, couscous isn’t a personal preference of mine, though according to my friend, it was also very enjoyable. The restaurant's Moroccan authenticity is evident in both its cuisine and decor, which reflects its North African roots. However, the lack of heating significantly detracted from our overall experience. Despite the food’s quality, I’m unsure if I would return.

Staff were very friendly, food was very fresh and tasty, and the atmosphere was great. It also helped the waiter sat us near the radiator. I would definitely recommend this place for authentic Morrocon food!

Food was lovely and my Morccan wife approves so must be good 😁 only problem was the seating area was a bit small and the seats uncomfortable.. we were also sat near the door and in a small space and I'm 7ft tall and wide so doesn't help 😅 Will definitely come again to try more.

My boyfriend and I came here one cold Friday night for some food. It wasn't our first choice, but we were glad the Mexican place further down the road was fully booked in the end, because it was gorgeous here. A lovely atmosphere, small and cosy, with a friendly waitress. We got a couple of things to share from the wide-ranging menu. Gorgeous food with a healthy feel to it. No alcohol served on the premises, but quite honestly I'm 25 next month and anything more than a pint on a Friday night has the potential to ruin my whole weekend.

Food was very much okay, meat was under seasoned and pizza had too much cheese and was too greasy. But they have an amazing waitress, she’s so nice and provides amazing service. The vibe of the place was very cozy and lovely.

Went up North to spend New Year's with friends decided to try this place out wasn't disappointed food was amazing, the service was excellent. Definitely go again when I am up North again.

We went for dinner in winter. I ordered the sea food paella. It was delicious like a warm bowl of happiness. My friend ordered lamb chops. It was good but might feel a bit dry. The baklava was pretty good. Definitely recommend the place.

Great food , good choice of tasty Moroccan food. Some fantastic Tagine to choose from .. the grill are amazing also . Overall a great night.

In general, I was not impressed with the food's quality and taste. The lamb koftas were dry and lacked flavor, and the chips were overcooked and, in some parts, excessively soggy with a lack of seasoning or taste and lastly the rice was mediocre with no real flavour. I would advise against dining at this establishment.

Been here multiple times, always great food. The chicken shawarma wrap is amazing but if you add halloumi it's the best wrap, the mogador special kebab was great, soft meats with lots of flavour. Also the hummus is one of my favourites highly recommend that. Best takeaway around the area

Really enjoyed my time there yesterday. The food was delicious, well priced, and made with fresh ingredients. I loved the decor! And the waitress who served us was lovely.

We visited due to the reviews and the food was very good but the atmosphere was limited (just us) and the service adequate. I think there were only 4 tables unless there was another room or floor. I suspect the atmosphere was due to it being mid week and out of term time so not many staff on. It could also be that this is better as a takeaway than to eat in when no-one is around. No alcohol served or allowed should this matter to anyone.

Not a nice place to get your food from! The food is flavourless and greasy! The salad is obviously out of date and soggy. Not ordering again. Flavourless falafel and overpriced olives .

Absolutely terrible customer service got the food 2 hours late, and they forgot part of the order! Over priced and better in the area! Was offered a refund last night and didn’t get it today so rang up and the manager basically told me to F off! Will never go again (for food) greasy and disgusting 🤮 very incompetent staff also it was the owner who answered the phone PLEASE DONT GO YOU WILL BE DISSAPOINTED

Gutted... I have had take aways from here before, and thought it was one of the best in Leeds... BUT!!! We made an order and it didn't turn up for over 2 hours... Then an item was missing £5 worth... The very friendly and helpful girl who dealt with it offered a full refund because of the bad service (which was acceptable) so when we asked for it the next day.. The owner denied all knowledge and swore at us and used threatening language.. And this time I have to say the food was very average.. Not much spice and zero garlic!! Falafel without garlic? I wouldn't waste your time and money.. Do yourself a favour and.. Go somewhere else!!!

A real gem, 5 minutes from the city centre. One of the most delicious and authentic meals I’ve had in ages. We were all blown away by the food and its relatively cheap prices! The staff were incredibly friendly, recommending dishes. I’d thoroughly recommend it!

Certain food items like pizza were great. Baklava on the other hand was no fresh and was brought out of the fridge and given to us cold. Service is extremely slow.

I was out in Leeds for the day and needed a place to eat, found this place off of Google and it's Gem. Service was fantastic, I needed a place to pray and that was provided. The toilet and Hand wash area was clean. Food was also delicious especially the Chicken Shawarma Mezze. We ordered Fries as a side and thought we'd get some regular frozen fries but these were freshly cut potatoes and fried till crispy. I'll definitely be returning.

Went a week ago and had amazing food. Pictured is the Aubergine Rolls Tagine which was fantastic, and falafel mezze platter which my friend loved and took leftovers home. The server was very friendly and helpful

By far one of the nicest restaurants in the LS6 area. Food is always spot on and everyone who works there is so lovely. Lots of variety of dishes to choose from & great service!! Highly recommended Mogador 😊👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Food was okay wouldn’t say it’s the best. Atmosphere was quiet being it a Sunday evening thought it was be busy and lively. And unfortunately the service was slow. Asked for the bread which we got after the food was finished. On the pricey side too.

Amazing atmosphere and service. Very rich menu with loads of different types of food. Very impressive vegan selection too. Portions are good. On top of that, they deliver all over Leeds. My only concern with the food was that it didn't have slat. It was a bit blunt BUT this is good for people who don't consume salt so I guess, it's all about taste and diet.

It was a good experience dining at this restaurant. But I believe the food could be more elevated. I understand it is near a student area so customers expect to get the food quickly but it causes a decrease in the the quality. Otherwise I would definitely recommend trying this place and it's family friendly.

This is the best hidden gem I’ve found in Leeds!!! They serve delicious, fresh and authentic Moroccan and Lebanese style food with a wide variety of options for meat eaters and vegans/vegetarians. Would highly recommend, the interior design is also stunning.

The BEST place I’ve had food in Leeds, a really authentic hidden gem in Hyde Park. The food was amazing and the price even better, I was stuck between which salad to get and they kindly gave me a variety of both in one. Will 100% be revisiting 🥰

I didn't like the policy of this restaurant not letting alcohols in even they don't have the license to sell. It is not byob unlike what it is said on the internet! I ordered lamb tagine with couscous but the restaurant gave me just rice. It was the worst service ever! It took longer than 15 minutes to get the take away food and I was disappointed that the 10% discount on the app was not advertised anywhere. The rice was good but the tagine seemed it is too westernised. I wanted to try the original taste so I was disappointed again.

Food is tasty, great service and value for money

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I wasn't disappointed. The food was delicious. I tried the baba ganoush and the sweet lamb tagine with rice. Both were tasty. My friend got one of the mezzes. I will def be back.

After Leeds half-marathon hubby desperate for food. Headingley centre was heaving so headed back to the car. First place we came across. Lovely food, spectacularly served on fancy dishes and friendly service. A very reasonably priced. Hope to be back one day.

The food was out of this world. We shared the Pastila Mezze as a starter. I had the Mogador special kebab, and my friend had the Lamb Tagine. The food was amazing, and the juices too. The service was impeccable. Will be coming back here!

Came here passing by for some food had the mixed kebab with rice and pomegranate salad. Was absolutely delicious! All meats halal and the gentleman serving was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Will definitely be returning.

The food is very good but service is agonisingly slow. It took an hour to get our food and there’s only 1 waiter.

Food and drinks were wonderful! Was unfamiliar with a lot of the menu but our waitress gave fantastic recommendations. We ordered the Mogador special drink, cheese brewet, and chicken bourek mezze which were all very delicious. Amazing customer service and the restaurant was very nicely decorated. Was our first time trying the dishes we ordered and we would come again to explore everything else!

Fantastic food and absolutely fantastic service. We ordered a takeaway for 3 of us and they had forgotten to include one part of the order. I called and within 15 minutes they sent another driver to replace the missing part of the order and also provided us with a complimentary baklavas. Then another 20 minutes later we received a notification on the Uber Eats app to say the restaurant had refunded us £5 for the error. Now that’s how you do customer service.

Food is very good. The sharing plates are pretty big and will easily feed two. There are choices for vegetarians and meat eaters. The vegetarian food is good, plenty of flavour and substantial. We went early evening, place was empty so the atmosphere was lacking. The place itself was well presented and clean. Staff were pleasant and friendly. You can get takeaway and delivery.

There was a issue with the order which meant our order was duplicated. The customer service was absolutely next to none! The woman on the phone couldn't have been more helpful! We received a refund for the accidental order. The food was amazing! You can absolutely tell that it is made fresh. It was delivered hot, the chips were brilliant. The mains we ordered (Pizza and Mezze) was fresh and full of flavour! Brilliant restaurant 10/10!

the chicken tagina marrakchia was beyond amazing, juicy fall-apart chicken and tasty veg. the people there are lovely, 10/10

We ordered Lamb Tajin and Kabab platter. By mistake, the order got mixed up but they came all the way to our place after we called and delivered the correct order. We appreciate their valued customer service.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated in a lovely North African theme. The food was served in traditional dishes. A starter of H’miss (Grilled mixed peppers) served with warm pitta bread. Very tasty with a hint of harissa. The main course, Couscous Royal was very flavourful and came with a bowlful of sauce delicately flavoured with cinnamon. It came with a mix of vegetables cooked in the same sauce, chunks of lamb and grilled chicken and two delightful merguez sausages. I could only manage half the giant portion I was given. I took the test home. I finished the meal with a pot of minted tea. I was very impressed with the whole experience.

Really tasty food and very generous portions. I had the chicken shawarma grill with chips and salad and it was really tasty. Sadly I couldn't finish it all because I was full but I'd recommend it to any chicken fans!

Came here for the first time with 3 kids and the husband. It was amazing. The children’s portions are huge. The meatball mezze was phenomenal. I had the lamb chops for a main and reluctantly had to share with my daughter who got plate envy. The server was so attentive polite and interested in the children. My children were over the moon pancakes were also on the menu, aswell as fudge cake. If I had to stretch for a criticism then it would be the desserts were stone cold including the pancakes. My son did ask for his fudge cake warming and this was done with no trouble. When we go again I will definitely be asking for the pancakes to also be heated. But this restaurant has now made our family favourite place to eat out.

Food is fresh and meat dishes are amazing, the Mogador mixed kebab so nice. Kids Burger and pizza a good portion. Mint and lemon tea very nice. Pics below of the food, we really enjoyed it, a fabulous family business. Will see you again soon ❣️

Ordered the Mogador Special Kebab and steamed Cous Cous - my Egyptian fiancé (who is fussy) absolutely loved this. Highly recommend!

The meatball mezze was lovely and good value for money. The staff were great and the restaurant had a really relaxed, calm atmosphere. Would definitely go back. Only thing to be aware of is they don't accept card - cash only.

I had a lamb kofta from Mogador couple of weeks ago. Saw some really nice pictures on Instagram and decided to try. A bit misleading advertising everything on insta with sides of lovely colorful salads when in fact all my dish was containing was lamb - lettuce - foad bread - mayo. Baklava on the other hand was to Die for! Never has nicer one in Leeds. Wish I could buy somewhere.

Usually great, Chicken Shwarma Wrap is delicious. However, recently got a chocolate cake as a dessert. Tasted strange the more I ate it, only to find it was covered in mold on the back. My girlfriend's had white mold spores on hers down the side too but thankfully she hasn't eaten hers yet. The only refund we got was for the cake (as a gesture of goodwill). A gesture of goodwill would be to refund the entire thing as I was sent something that could potentially harm me! Has put me off ever going back as I now have to question their health and safety standards.

This one had been on our list for a while. We finally took the plunge and mogadored- and we adored. Take your time glossing over the juicy menu and you won’t be disappointed. Sea bass tagine was slightly over cooked but we were not phased. We partook in mezzes (fun presentation!!) and chalafel kebabs (chicken+falafel). Waitress was lovely and provided us with extra sauces and pittas upon request- greatly appreciated. This establishment is a shining star amongst cardigan road’s already stellar selection

ordered on uber eats as read reviews and looked good, however not what i expected , didn’t taste like a morrocan tagine. ordered the lamb meatball tagine, received some vegan meatball drowning in a tomatoe tasteless sauce, defo won’t be ordering again
