Yet again google has led me up a blind alley. This is the second curry house tonight that is no longer

This used to be a favourite Indian sit down restaurant for us, but it’s a shame it’s gone now. I had been going with family for over 30 Years. Many happy memories of the place. Rest in peace Wor Modern Tandoori!

Excellent food. Really impressed with quality and flavours

Order wasn't delivered. An hour after ordering, the restaurant called to say there was a delivery issue and to request a refund via JustEat. Not as easy as it sounds (99th in queue!). I offered to collect, but the bloke stuttered and said he had a chef issue. Horrendous service. And not the only time I've experienced problems (forgotten pop, no banana in Kasmiri curry!!). Avoid!

Order was 30 minutes late, rang to ask where it was to be advised it wouldn’t be long and then 20-30 minutes 😐 then received a phone call from driver saying he was lost and after trying to explain which way to go we then had to go and meet him to then be met with half order missing. Rang again to advise on missing items to be advised “they wouldn’t do it again” 😐 and me saying ok but I want my items then asked if they could deliver next time. I then said there wouldn’t be a next time and didn’t receive them at all. Would deffo not recommend. The food we did receive was rotten aswell.

Absolute disgrace. Ordered food at 7pm. It is now 9:35 and I still isn’t here., despite 4 calls to be promised ‘it’s on its way’. If you’re hungry guys - stay clear of these cowboys

Delivered it early so took it away and came back but .one of the dishes we ordered they didn't have.sent an alternative.but would have expected a phone call to tell us and see what else we wanted to order very disappointed as usually a good takeaway

Used this establishment for years real Bangladeshi cooked at its best

outstanding food.This is the only Indian takeaway that supplies your Naan bread in a foil bag which keeps it hot and moist.All the other Indian takeaways should follow suit.Lovely.

Order took around 90 mins to arrive and king prawn korma was inedible - it was basically flavoured water. I’ve never had one like it before, it was terrible. The other curry was ok.

Not the best Indian's I have had. lamb quite stringy, prawns seriously over cooked. Whole family said not to order from here again. To top it off got my mango chutney but no papadum. Was offered a free one next time I ordered but alas that is going to be highly unlikely.

Lovely service, didnt have half chicken tandoori but replaced it with the cocktail with loads.

Food was phenomenal and the kind gentleman who delivers my food was so generous, there always on time and there never any hassle to order with would 100% recommend them to any indian food lover

No much chicken in korma, no popadom with meal and Pepsi was diet not what ordered rice wasn’t to nice either nothing like it used to be

First time ordering from this Restaurant. Excellent value for money. Tasty curries. Loads of variety in the Meat Thali.Definitely be using these guys again when I fancy a curry.

Lamb replaced with chicken. No tandoori chicken delivered. Sauce tasted weird and overall quality poor. Won't order again.

Curry was delicious. Not swimming in grease like some others. I would have preferred chips to be hand cut and the delivery time could have been a little quicker. Overall 4stars out of 5stars

After a long wait in an empty restaurant our order was taken even after coming back to see if it was lam b or chicken we ordered when told lamb one dish was chicken

Absolutely horrific food, all cold bland and tasteless I would have given it minus stars if I could. I will never be eating from this place again and I would strongly recommend that you don’t either.

Good delivery time from time of ordering . Onion bhajjis vey lovely,samosas a bit too hot for my taste. The bhuna was very tasty, the balti was too hot for me. & the chicken tandoori was pleasant my nephew commented. Pilau rice good. Free naan bread and raita which were both lovely...1st time ordered, & i would order again.from here.

This is a terrible place avoid at ALL costs went in there for a curry and all i got was very hard chunks of beef the size of a pea, I do not like the food from here and i will NEVER go back to this place . I would advise everyone who reads this do not go into this place.

Absolutely rotten! Just had takeaway from here , ordered a dansak and a Balti and they were marked up on the carton incorrectly however we didn't realise as the sauces looked and tasted the same. Greasy as hell and the nan soggy as an old tea bag.

First time ordering from here staff was polite on phone and i could understand his food came quicker then said and driver was lovley and food was delish

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE Absolute joke. The food came and hour late, freezing cold chips which were rock solid. Rice was freezing and the curry was only half there the rest was spilt all over the bag when the delivery driver came tried charging extra so rang them up they said they would send free delivery out and didn’t turn up and keeps hanging up. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE

Nice feller runs it, known him for years deserves a lot more business than he gets. Reliable curries. You can't go wrong with his place. Genuine, thoughtful. Concientious.

Chicken Tikka, Madrass, Korma, Vindaloo and all the Nann breads are EPIC! the sauces are good the rice is sometimes to dry and all the sides are good quality, i like it the staff are really friendly and service speed is good.

When I went it was just for a nice takeaway in but the curry was sweet not spicy everything else was quite nice apart from that although curry was the main part on this plate I was disappointed.

Nice take away food well cooked and a good selection of dishes and sundries and was delivered promptly.

Poor, chicken tikka masalla was runny and the naan breads were poor, tasteless and soggy.

Food was late but a courtesy call from the manager and a very apologetic delivery driver means I didnt mind. Some takeaways wouldn't even acknowledged they were late. Poppadoms were missed from the order. The food was nice and hot and tasted superb as always. Clean restaurant and good quality food, definitely recommended.

Food was very nice but was over half an hour late and they had ran out of one of the starters we ordered, however the restaurant did give us extra food at no cost and a lager portion of one of the dishes for the wait! Would order from here again.

Cancelled order, didn't have driver but still took payment

Mi marido y yo decidimos probar este restaurante una noche de sábado. Sólo había una pareja en el restaurante cuando llegamos. Nos recibió y acomodó rápidamente. Pedí agua que no tienen, pero sí tienen 7, por lo que acabo de decir bien. Más tarde, supe que nos cobraron 3 libras. 50 por 7. Absolutamente ridículo. Pedimos Samosas entrantes. Una de carne y una vegetariana para mí. Cuando la camarera trajo el arranque de ella deliberadamente me dijo " Esta es para ti", obviamente porque era vegetariano. Me tomó un bocado y fue sin duda no es vegetariana. Cuando se sepa la chica dijo lo siento, pero no es muy convincente. Mi cena maridos no era lo que pedimos y después de discutir con nosotros, se determinó que era de hecho el plato equivocado. Otra lo siento. El servicio de cena llevó 90 minutos con otra mesa! Nada en la factura final. No hay disculpa sincera. No me sorprende que nadie estaba allí. Nunca más.

they forgot the chicken chaat we ordered and not as much lamb as we would have liked but other than that, it was very tasty.

I don't know what has happened but I'm appalled at the food tonight. Spent 18.00 and I ended up throwing the food in the bin!!!! I could not eat it at all it was disgusting and cold. I ordered a flatbread which was burnt and felt like I was eating a old shoe!!! Korma which was watery!!!! Chips which were burnt to a crisp that my son started choking on them!!!! Ordered chilli sauce that didn't come and tikka wrap which tasted off so didn't want to risk being poisoned so threw the lot in the bin!!! Never again shall I waste my money ordering from here

The meal was beautiful, the naan bread was a little cold and not as crispy as previous orders but I still loved it and I will be ordering again in the future.

by the time I went to eat my food I realised I had the wrong order and the restaurant was closed so I spend 12 pounds on something that wasn't my order and I didn't like I am very annoyed and will never be ordering from this place again terrible service.

Nice feel to the place. Bring your own alcohol. Service is alright normally students. food good for the money. Toilets let the place down. No soap nothing to dry your hands on, not the cleanest. Food is always presented nicely.

Como el título sugiere. Dentro necesitaría una reforma en serio (no todas, pero no estoy hablando de mí). Era un poco monótona y poco atractiva, sin mencionar el frío. El chico joven que sirve hizo un trabajo astutos. Él también organizó para alguien que viene a poner en el fuego y que estaba cerca de la parte frontal de la habitación para calentar el lugar un poco después de que mencioné lo frío que era.

I am regular eater here, with the Mrs. First class food at reasonable price. Bring your own wine, beer etc.. It is a quiet no-frills restaurant with lovely food. Friendly staff - waiters are normally Indian University students. The BBC order take-aways from here when filming in the area. Say no more.

We've been ordering from here since we moved to the area in 2014 - unfortunately, the last few delivery orders have not been good - there's always something missing so one of our family has to site and wait while the missing items are sent out - often the order is wrong, my vegetarian daughter got a mixed meat curry instead of the mixed vegetable she ordered - and one curry arrived with so much chilli in it was practically inedible - too many mistakes recently so we'll probably start looking elsewhere on curry night.

They got the order wrong, again! Sorry Modern Tandoori, it has happened too often - we'll probably be looking elsewhere next time.

Ordered a set meal with a chicken tikka masala. Ordered from here many times before and have never been disappointed but tonight's meal wasn't great. Showed up late and usually I wouldn't care, However I'm not even going to eat it because the curry is that bad. The chicken tikka tastes like nothing. Seems really watered down and just generally tastes absolutely nothing like a tikka.

Excellent food as always, my order was correct and on time would recommend!

The food tasted great for the price I paid which is always good, however there were a couple of errors. They forgot my poppadom, they sent pilau rice instead of the plain boiled rice I asked for, and there were only 3 bits of chicken in the curry I had ordered. It tasted great, but the actual order was a bit sloppy.

Food was 40 minutes late, I had to open the door to attend to the delivery driver who was across the street because he couldn't read the house numbers, before this the restaurant offered me no help or explanation on the phone in regards to my order and the food was low quality, it was not something you'd expect from an Indians Tikka starter was awful The chips were microwave at best and by the time they arrived they were like drumsticks Rice was more like something from the Chinese and the curry was awful, a standard curry you can get better from wetherspoons in a Thursday night or from Iceland in the microwave for 3 minutes, looked forward for an Indians past few days, highly disappointed, wouldn't even regard this restaurant as an "Indian restaurant" all foods lacked any sort of quality or Indian style qualities

Great food as always however no salad or ratia with the order makes the onion bahgis a bit dry so a bit dissapointed aldo asked for 7.30 collection this was put back till 8 so made arrangements only to be told it's ready at 7.40 ??

Just came back so it's very fresh review. We have chosen this restaurant as we do prefer small independent ones over chains. Having seen good reviews we were quite excited to go. Our excitement finished at the moment once we have been approached by gentlemen (owner I guess) who didn't have to much to offer in regards to soft drinks (worth to mention that restaurant doesn't sell alcoholic drinks but customers are able to bring their own which is rather benefit). Asked what kind of soft drinks they offered he said "Pepsi", not too much choice I thought. Then we've been served by other young gentlemen who although being nice, didn't really have clue about either menu or service. Ordered starters which arrived about half an hour late, really nice but rather cold and pretty delayed. Also, I got different starter that I ordered but being hungry and angry of waiting time, I consumed what I've been served. Worth to mention that we've been the only people at the restaurant at the time. Starter plates been not cleared for very long time as they were other people coming at that time. After about 20 minutes later the owner or the chef came over asking if the sauce should be spice or not as he can do up to our liking. Appreciate the commitment but it was about 50 minutes since we ordered mains and I was really fed up waiting and couldn't believe that he didn't not even made a sauce yet! Overall we spend almost 2 hours waiting for 2 meals. Mains were more like pumpkin soup rather than chicken tikka sauce. I felt sorry for people that arrived after ourselves as they were waiting ages for being served at all. I appreciate the fact the there was only one server BUT if you want to run a business you definitely need to invest in staff who will be able to serve your customers, otherwise don't see a point of existence of this restaurant. Giving score 2 as I've mention the waiter was nice and you could bring your alcohol but other than that I will not return. P.S. Some music would be useful as there is no atmosphere in this place at all.

I've tried many takeaways in wallsend on this occasion got to say I've had better it was ok that's all I can say about it much better places to choose from on the high street

Food arrived on time but they rang to say that they didn't have the nan that I ordered, when it came, the meat of the seekh kebab wasn't fully cooked in the middle and my korma wasn't the nicest as it had pepper in it when I don't like pepper. Also, I specified in the notes for the balti to not be too hot and it seems that they didn't even read my comments. To top it all off, my Fanta was a year out of date. I won't be ordering from here again!

We visit here quite regularly for both sit in and take-away never had a complaint about the service or the food. Our friends were quite impressed when we took then for a night out. The restaurant does not have a drinks licence however you are very welcome to take your own and they provide glasses, bottle openers and cork screws if required ( there is no corkage charge). Good menu selection and cooked well.

Called in for a takeaway and was surprised how quiet the restaurant was. The young lad who took my order was very professional and smiling all the time.Had a seat and I checked out their food standards agency rating on line ..... 5 so an excellent start. The food was with me in 20 mins. Piping hot and double bagged. I had plain rice with a chicken main and a side order of fries and nan.The food was spectacular and huge portions. I only paid £11.Would highly recommend.

Reordered because it was very good previous. Next time the pathia was ridiculously hot, totally unedible when previous (two days earlier it had little to no spice). Starter a so called special was a mess of grease, there was more grease poured off then was necessary to use and the rest was a grease sodden mess. Absolutely terrible, which was all the more disappointing as it had been so good. Inconsistent meals are worse than bad meals, at least you know what you will get.

My wife and I are regular eat-in customers. We both love the food (every other customer I talk to also does), and taking a couple of cans of lager with us makes it very affordable. It is a small family business, so if we have to wait a few minutes for our order, when there is a large group, then its worth it. So if you are a local, or just passing through, and want an excellent curry at a reasonable price, this is the place for you.

Absolutely shocking!!!!!! The delivery was late and the food was cold and of poor quality. The best part of the meal was the can of coke. I will not returning.
