Prior to our arrival we rang to book a table on the Friday evening as we'd read it can be busy to booking was advised. We booked a table for 5pm . We had found the menus online to check but we really struggling to find any mention of opening times. Which was rather frustrating as we wanted to plan the timings around the children's feeding times. We arrived at our lodge at 4pm and thought we'd find information inside the lodge about the tearooms and especially how to get there as we were on the other site . No visible sites maps could be spotted and we were running out of time as table booked. Luckily we found a site person nearby who informed us it was about 1/2 mile walk, and we mentioned to ring them to say we maybe alittle late. Anyway at the tearooms we were the only ones there. Even when we left, they had a handful of other guests. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. We went again Saturday evening, and again it was dead. A lovely summers evening and no one about! You'd think guests would be chilling with a cocktail or enjoying an ice-cream in the lovely outdoor area but no one around. I think guests are unaware of this amazing place. The Saturday menu only had 2 choices meat platter or meat & cheese platter. Not great for the kids . However that said the lady chief looked after us extremely well. She got the kids plain white bread and some child friendly ham ( thank you !) We highly recommend it for a place to grab a drink and relax , and then a stroll back to your lodge .

We hadn’t been for a while so thought we would stop for lunch. Very disappointed that the menu had not been updated with more vegetarian options. Waitress was very accommodating of my tailoring the menu. Main meal was very nice but it was let down by the size of the lattes which have shrunk since last time we visited and no signature flapjack which made the difference from anywhere else locally. Trevor as always a delight and the best staff member ever!!!!

The food is nowhere near as good as it used to be. Either a different kitchen team, or they've lost their passion. Prices ramped up about as far as they dare go, and even the Carrot cake was a bit dried up. Sticky tables and mediocre service, has turned an 'old favorite' into a 'drive on by'. A real shame.

We went for a late breakfast and ordered Scrambled Egg with Smoked Salmon and Eggs Royal. Both were tasty but came on a very large plate with a pile of salad that had dressing all over it. We have never been served eggs royal or scrambled egg with salad before and we certainly wouldn’t want a dressing put on it. We’d prefer to have the choice. Hence we both left all the salad which was a terrible waste. Also the scrambled egg came with the salmon on the side and not in it which would be the norm. There were at least four thick slices which overwhelmed the dish and probably cost the cafe a lot more than necessary. One slice flaked into the egg would be ample. Cut the size of the plate, cut the quantity of salmon and cut the cost. A little sprig of of watercress on top would be perfect and no salad!!

The setting is lovely and the place must be popular as it was very busy so we sat outside. The staff were friendly and efficient. We ordered hot drinks and tea cakes as we prefer a light bite for lunch. The tea cakes came and were so tiny with a couple sultanas in the whole thing. They were barely toasted and resembled the smart price budget variety that you get 4 in a pack. That’s all we intended to have but ended up ordering orange almond cake as we were left hungry. The cake looked nice but was pretty tasteless and again the portion was quite small. Maybe the cooked food is quite good and the place appears to be popular but I wouldn’t rush back for anything other than a coffee.

The restaurant was closed at the time due to Covid 19 BUT they were cooking gourmet meals on Wednesdays and Saturdays and delivering locally during the day (all contactless). The menu changed regularly. The details and menus were on Facebook. We had our 2nd Millers meal delivered and thoroughly enjoyed it! We ordered beef stroganoff with crispy potato cubes, and herb crusted salmon with new potatoes and peas as a weekend treat. Cooking instructions were included (microwave apart from the potatoes that needed to go in the oven). Both were well cooked and tasty, we did some more vegetables to accompany it but really did not need to.We also ordered a slice of tray-bake each; 1 millionaire’s shortbread and 1 rocky road slice. It was certainly a step up from your usual take-away food and we would definitely order from Millers again.

The meals are delivered in plastic containers with heating (microwave) instructions. The lasagne was amazing, the cottage pie average although my husband raved about the onion gravy. This was the first time of visiting since Miller's management change. We went there for breakfast. My wife ordered a cheese and ham omelette with toast and jam, I ordered smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The omelette was tasty enough but was rather heavy and a little dry from overcooking. My wife could only eat half, I ate a quarter and the rest was left. My scrambled eggs were okay but again suffered from being a little overcooked. There was too much smoked salmon for me. each dish was just under £8, two coffees and a round of toast with jam brought the bill to £24.75. The latte cafe was good however. Value for money? In quantity, yes, in enjoyment no. The table service was satisfactory and the ambiance was what one might expect from a tea shop trying to be more than. We decided that we would not return.

We went back to the counter to let them know it was unacceptable and we were leaving and had to stand and wait until the 2 female staff had stopped arguing loudly!! They were absolutely brilliant on the day, and the tea was SPECTACULAR - beautiful cloth and napkins, lovely plates, beautiful food (finger sandwiches, cheese straws, cupcakes, pretty biscuits, marshmallow pops, sweeties and - a really special touch - individual jars of mixed sweets to take home. So, so lovely. Staff attentive, friendly and incredibly flexible. Highly recommend for a get-together.

It had some of the old favourites on (bacon/sausage sandwich etc) but now has eggs benedict, eggs royale and a few others which is a real welcome addition. Me and the mrs both went for the full English and and it was absolutely fantastic. High quality ingredients and excellent portion size. It is also worth mentioning the changes that have been made internally. Previously whilst still a nice place to go it was a little bit outdated. The new owners have brought the place to life and given it a new refreshing feel. The main eating area has been totally redone and they have moved the serving area giving more space for tables. Also the cakes etc are now displayed on a new impressive unit which really showcases the treats that are on offer. Also there are new menus dotted about showing the upcoming Christmas themed evenings and also the Friday night menu which I think starts soon. Highly recommend going here. You will not be disappointed.

We were staying in the Raywell Lodges so only a stones throw from the tearoom. We decided to pay it a visit on our final day and it was very pleasant and quite tastefully decorated. We visited quite late in the day so only a couple of people inside. Waitress service was good and we received our order very quickly. My partner ordered the bakewell tart and it has to be one of the best I have ever tried.

Having visited on Sunday afternoon, we were aware that a refurbishment was going to take place on 2nd October. The new owner takes a hands on approach and takes the time to have a chat with as many of his customers as possible. Based on our visit today, I can assure you that both the food and service that we received were excellent. Although it was busy, we managed to secure the last inside table available. A member of staff took our order within five minutes. Everything is freshly prepared and my party of three all had their meals served in less than fifteen minutes. The menu and prices are unchanged, with delicious food and excellent friendly service as always. The counter area is now in a far better position than its previous location. Judging by the improvements that have been made so far, it is apparent that the owner has a keen eye for detail. We will certainly continue to visit on a regular basis.

Decided to go to Millers with my wife mid afternoon for somthing to eat, I was looking forward to having somthing here, having been many times in the past. I was aware that it had been taken over but my wife asured me it was still good as she and my daughter had been, since the new owners had taken over and it was still nice.

I actually love Millers but had booked for afternoon tea and thought it was overpriced for what we got, also our waitress never checked at all if we were happy with our food, needed any more tea, hot water etc or required anything else. I understand Millers has changed hands and will be opening at night which I feel will be great but when I commented on this to the waitress as she plonked my tea in front of me, her reply was "yes, but I won't be here doing it"

First visit to this lovely little restaurant to celebrate 🍾 both Mother’s Day and my wife's 60th birthday and we were not disappointed! The setting in the window table with background music and plenty of space was perfect. We ate off the a la carte menu and we both had three courses complimented by a bottle of fizz. Each course was food heaven and the service was exceptional so we will be returning for the Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday in April. Thank you

A gem of a cafe, lovely staff, quality food. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, even making up a takeaway salad box and a sandwich to be collected later. Plus the cafe is dog friendly....
