Food was great. Served by Thomas who was very friendly and welcoming and made the experience that little bit better for us. Great service, will definitely be back

It was a good dinner just disappointed that they ran out of some selections that we only got told about before we ordered Creme brulee could have been cooked a bit more on top

Bar was cold and too bright. No atmosphere. Food was mediocre and nothing special. Expensive for the quality of food we received. Tables were very close to one another. More like an expensive Wetherspoon’s than a specialist restaurant. Bit of a dinosaur as far as I’m concerned and in need of a facelift.

Food outstanding as usual, partner gutted the chorizo starter/side had changed as it was her favourite starter but everything else spot on.

Tremendous food and brilliant service. Our server, Charlene, was exceptional. Can't wait to go again.

Can never fault this place. Have been on a number of occasions, service, ambience, attention to detail when being served, second to none, no hovering about, simply letting you get on with your meal and ultimately enjoying it. Back again, just so relaxing with attentive staff, not over attentive I may add. Would not hesitate to return. Back again, just can't keep away. Such a relaxing place to eat, nothing is too much bother. Great meal, friendly staff, what more could you ask for. Another visit, understandable as there is no fuss or bother ordering or getting served. The relaxed atmosphere says it all. Birthday visit this time. Service was exemplary. Staff were courteous and friendly and answered any questions we may have had.

Food was real good but the service was so much better! Diane is a real credit to the front of house team here and I don't think our dinner would've been half as good with someone else helping us out. She gave great recommendations based on what we were after and spent lots of time ensuring we were happy with everything! People like this deserve recognition and rewards as you don't want to loose them!

Cold chips, service was poor no one checked to see if our food was ok. We asked for water and drinks twice before anyone got us our drinks and the place was cold.

Love coming here for Sunday dinner & special occasions. Quality food cooked as per your specifications. We always seem to get the same server ‘Thomas’ who always on hand for additional napkins and/or drinks and such a warm pleasant server. Cannot recommend it highly enough

After being shown to the table by the boy with glasses at front of house, I was rudely told to remove my hat at the table? Is this policy? Because afterwards someone else came in wearing one, was shown to their table by a waitress and nothing was mentioned.. Now on to the food, ordered the fillet steak, medium well, arrived and was raw in the middle. Bit into one part and was like jelly.. Get a choice of sauce with your wedges which we both thought were potatoe, in reality, it’s just a cut of lettuce... The only nice thing about the experience was the waiter. Sadly wont be back and at the price, was majorly disappointed, would not recommend. 👎🏼 Added; Jodie, that’s because the review was updated. Therefore, it tells you when it was updated (last week). The food served, is still the same so still very much valid.

Great Service and really good Steaks

I'm furious i always buy this same food from this restaurant and always its looks fresh and normal size of portion, but what I get today its a joke ,steak its not a 80z size burn and I get 2,5 tiny baby potato thats size of portion not even for a teenager only for a child not for adult person, I always buy this same so I know what I get previously, I'm hungry and tired and I must throw up that food and buy another one im not a pig I will not eat food whats its old ,and nobody will tell me that I'm crazy because I know what I got previously, I call the restaurant but nobody pick up

Our server Leo was excellent! Very attentive and great with suggestions of food/drinks! Never had any cheese boards which was the only downfall for myself but other than that food and service was perfect!

Great service as always. Lengthy wait for 2 mains with a relatively quiet restaurant - probably due to Al a carte menu items during fixed price lunch menu. Personal preference is that St Vincent Street is the better of the 2.

5 star all round. My wife and I shared the butchers block highly recommend as you get a bit of everything. The food was outstanding and waiter Graham went above and beyond such a nice guy made the experience easy and enjoyable with his knowledge and manner…don’t ever change and keep up the good work ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Plenty of choices however I feel the quality of the steaks is slightly inferior to those I have eaten there in the past. Medium rare has always been my choice but the flavour and tenderness has not been there, not so succulent.

Food was spectacular but if I could rate service for 10 stars then I would. We were served by the lovely Diane and have to say she is a credit to the business. So friendly, informative and attentive. I have a gluten allergy but have never felt more at ease in a restaurant. It was my husband's birthday and the little happy birthday plate was certainly the cherry on top of the perfect afternoon out. This lady’s attention to detail is second to none. Thank you again, I hope that Miller and Carter give credit where credit is due to their servers! Thanks again.

The set Sunday menu was great, but it was hard to read some parts of the menu; the print was so small, and the colours were not clear. The restaurant seemed a bit scruffy; the floor had food from the previous diners, and the tables were not in good condition. The food was well prepared and presented/ tasted very nice.

3 courses all fantastic king prawns to start,12oz ribeye & cheesecake to finish. My wife had scallops, then 8oz fillet & a fab banofee pie .

Hi was at miller and carter newton means today with my family’ I normally always go to one in Glasgow city centre’ my son Jay recommended we got to this one which I thought was so much more relaxing’ they have private car park spaces food was so good ‘ staff were amazing chatted full quick service spot on ‘ as we were there to take my daughter in-law for lunch as she just had a baby ‘ there was absolutely no rush lots space for pram ect this restaurant has great staff clean manage always about .loved my visit can’t wait to go back .was most relaxing lunch iv had for long time’ so thankyou to all staff ect for doing a wonderful job xx

Staff were very professional and helpful especially Paul our server who made our visit for an amazing lunch a great experience. The caramel profiteroles are delicious and not to be missed. Great quality food at a very reasonable price. Already looking forward to a return visit.

I was a bit disappointed, meal was just OK but nothing brilliant as I was expecting, plenty more better steak houses that are better value for money and a good bit less expensive

Went Saturday 12th October and ordered our food. We ordered the butchers block. I got my plate then the server Thomas said to my husband I’ll get you a clean plate ( obviously plate was dirty) we ate our meals then ordered 2 sticky toffee puddings we waited around 20/25 minutes and it was very cold both the sticky toffee puddings and custard so I think it sat for a while. I also had to ask for a clean spoon as my spoon looked as if someone had used it. I wouldn’t go back there but never had a problem with the one on st Vincent street

Excellent food and service. Ellis was our server for the evening and was fantastic. It was our first visit and we will definitely be back. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the starters and sides were beautiful.

**Review for Miller & Carter Newton Mearns** I recently dined at Miller & Carter in Newton Mearns and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. First, the service left much to be desired. Our wine glasses were not cleared away, which made the table feel cluttered. My steak knife arrived just before my steak, and they didn’t take away the original knife, which felt careless. When I asked the waitress for English mustard—a standard condiment for steak—she informed me they didn’t have any. However, another waitress overheard and kindly brought some, which was appreciated but shouldn’t have been necessary. The food itself was underwhelming. I didn’t receive my steak sauce or chips with my meal and had to ask for them. When they finally arrived, I was served skinny fries instead of the chunky ones I ordered. My partner’s cod was rubbery and unpleasant, and she ended up not eating it at all. To top it off, my chips tasted stale, as if they had been sitting in a hot tray for far too long. Overall, I left feeling extremely disappointed, and I doubt I’ll return anytime soon.

Lovely meal once again at Miller & Carter, definitely prefer their Newton Mearns restaurant rather than the City Centre, much more cosy and homely. Our waiter Darren couldn't have been more helpful and attentive, even with him covering quite a few different tables.

The 7oz steak, which followed, was a masterclass in how a small cut can pack immense flavor. Our server/waiter, Graham I think it was, was excellent. He was very helpful, obliging and informative as well as overall very pleasant. The food was amazing!! One of the nicest steaks ive had.

Went for dinner with my partner last night and would not return. The place is run down, filthy and freezing. The food is sub standard nothing tastes fresh. Even the jugs the water come in look like they’ve been bashed about for years. Just an underwhelming experience for a place that used to be good. Definetley would not return.

The experience we got at Miller and Carter - Newton Mearns, was nothing short of exceptional. From sitting down we were made very welcome by our waiter, Graeme. to going through our we ordered of food, steaks and the like. The meal itself was also cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back.

My wife and I have only recently moved into a flat about one mile for Miller and Carter in Newton Mearns and to make life easier for my wife we have entertained a number of friends to lunch and how impressed we are as have been our friends. The staff are so very welcoming and the food is excellent…..their week-day menu is superb value. We are delighted to recommend this restaurant for the quality of its food, its service and its value for money.

Having been several times over the years and had excellent service and food, my recent visit to Miller & Carter Newton Mearns was, unfortunately, one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From start to finish, it was a series of mishaps and poor service that left me questioning the restaurant’s reputation and commitment to quality. Their burgers are only served well done as they don't prep the mice for the burger at the restaurant, according to the food standards regulations. We weren't told this when we ordered for medium done. However, what came was overdone/dry and lukewarm chips, totally put us off the meal. Service was a letdown. Despite asking three times for our drinks, they took an unreasonably long time to arrive. One member of our party wasn't served a side to their main course, yet it mysteriously appeared on the bill and we had to repeatedly ask for the lettuce & sauce for another dish. As for dessert, the Banoffee pie was particularly disappointing. The quality was lamentable—far from the indulgent treat it should have been, it was more of an afterthought, clearly lacking in both flavour and freshness. What made the experience even worse was the manager's complete disregard for our concerns. Despite the issues we raised, we were ignored and no effort was made to rectify the situation. No discount or apology was offered from him, leaving us feeling not just dissatisfied but also undervalued as customers. The only person who apologised was the waitress, she felt really bad about the whole situation. Overall, Miller & Carter provided poor value for money. The food was formulaic and uninspired, the service poor due to understaffing, and the staff appeared under trained. I would not recommend this restaurant and will certainly not be returning.

The staff and atmosphere were fabulous. I had a rump steak with red wine sauce, chicken starter, and an orange bomb for dessert. Beautiful from start to finish and my steak was cooked beautifully. Thank you 🙌

First time here after hearing a lot about it, overall a bit underwhelming, i had noted on the booking it was my partners birthday, given that fact i thought we’d maybe have been given a nice table however we were sat at a tiny table for 2 in the middle of the foot traffic so people were passing by you every 2 seconds, the table had two extremely bright spotlights above it killing any ambiance, felt like an interrogation room, the light was shining off the cutlery and blinding you. The steak was ok, i’ve definitely had better, the camembert was good and the accompanying ginger chutney was amazing! Our lettuce was missing the garlic croutons? Both plates, dont know if they forgot or just ran out and didnt tell us? The staff to be fair were friendly and helpful, it wasnt bad but i’m not sure it was good enough for me to want to go back or recommend it. Price wise you’re paying good money so i’d expect a bit more.

Food was cooked to perfection but I would say the price is slightly inflated due to the Miller and Carter name rather than the protein itself. The location, parking, facilities, and restaurant was all lovely, clean and accessible, my only personal issue was the room temperature being too warm with no cool air. The staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly. Our server Graeme R was amazing and made our night perfect.

We got the steak sharing board and to be honest the steaks were tough. Blood from the fillet on plate. Clearly not rested. Couldn't tell what steak was what. All tasted the same . The onion loaf was average and the lettuce with the bacon and mustard was inedible due to the excessive mustard. We were really looking forward to this lunch and deeply disappointed. The waiting staff were lovely but when we mentioned how tough the steak was it was ignored.

Everything ran smoothly Turned up on time and immediately escorted to our table. Waiter introduced himself and presented us with the menus. Drinks ordered and we're well presented. Wowza! I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve been to M&C! Truly a special meal for my mum’s birthday. We ordered a cocktail each to start - the disarono one and the slinger(?). Both super fresh! Then I had the fillet steak which comes with a ‘wedge’ of lettuce (you choose your dressing), an onion rostie (fabulous), a choice of boiled potatoes, fries or chunky chips. You also choose a steak sauce. I went for boiled potatoes and choose the peppercorn. The sauce was glorious without being too spicy or heavy. Would highly recommend. Only thing I didn’t think was 100% great was the wedge and dressing as the dressing absolutely drenched the lettuce 🫣 so next time I’d get the dressing on the side. Next I had the chocolate orange bomb for dessert which was also spectacular and highly recommend! Really decadent! The chocolate orange orange the mousse comes in is a nice touch! My mum ordered apple pie and they wrote happy birthday in chocolate on the plate which was a lovely touch! All in all highly recommend and will be back!

Steak was great but too small. So bigger steaks. A bit pricey. So the price. Cleanliness . My menu had either wine or blood on it. The waiter dismissed my comments by saying it was wine. He should have taken the menu away and replaced it with a clean one.
