Place was dirty and uncared for flowers on bar were dead and water was green needs a bit a TLC

Graham totally made our night ! His amazing customer service and overall great attitude set us up for having the best night a totally memorable staff member which is so great to receive in hospitality especially on a such a busy night we always felt attended too and looked after , the food was absolutely amazing and we loved the cocktails !

First time at Miller &Carter after family and friends recommended. To be honest, disappointed. The starter, nachos, were not very palatable, guacamole was watery and we only ate a few. Not to be discouraged, we ordered the Chateaubriand, and wanted it well done ..(I know people will criticise) but we waited quite a long time (1 hour and 15mins) and when it came it was still med rare!!! We sent it back and 10mins later it came back and was OK...but the chips were cold . Table service was Brilliant 👏, and the manager gave us dessert for nothing.. which was appreciated. Won't be rushing back, sorry...

Seats, floor, toilets all filthy. Boiler broken so no heat but no warning when booking or by email. We asked to move somewhere warmer in restaurant and was told by the seating lady there wasn’t anywhere. Pointed out filthy seat beside us to her but nothing done about it until more guests tried to sit down. Management poor. Waiter Tom I think his name was, was very helpful. Steaks AMAZING! Creme brûlée disappointing.

Food was amazing, Diane served us she was brilliant, very cheery and attentive able to answer any questions.

Unfortunately not a great dining experience. I can’t fault the staff whose service was excellent but the central heating wasn’t working and my wife found a large black hair in her desert. We were discounted for this but it has really put both of us off ever going again. Something you need to take up with your supplier. Not a good look.

delicious. steak was heavenly, service was lovely, and the overall vibe is just the icing on the cake. Or the beef dripping on the steak if you know what I mean! would recommend.

We had a fab time here and our server Diane was so pleasant and helpful with us! She also is very funny and is very attentive! Makes the experience in the restaurant feel a lot more at ease. Food was also fab and Diane even helped alter my foods due to dietary requirements and she wasn’t pushy either she was extremely patient! Lovely lady! Makes us want to go back! X

The Newton Mearns branch is our go-to Miller & Carter for a casual date night, Diane as always made us feel at home right from the get go and was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is chilled out and the food is always spot on here, we will keep coming back! We got the sticky chipotle chicken and cauliflower wings to start, and the chocolate brownie to finish.

Great food but with no heating and having to eat your dinner with your jacket on was not ideal also no hot water and hand drying facilities blowing freezing cold air this experience was not great I’m afraid.

Loved the place , from minute I walked through door till I left service was amazing . Our table server / waiter was amazing and extremely helpful .

FOOD: We went here on a Sunday and had the Sunday sharing platter. Only one word to describe it... MAGNIFICENT!... Great steak, delicious lamb and tasty chicken. The sides were great too, and the beef dripping gravy was amazing. SERVICE: our server was cheery and knowledgeable. No issues. DECOR: Pleasant surroundings. Toilets were clean. X-FACTOR: This particular restaurant had a big car park and is easy to get to, giving it an advantage over the one in the city centre. VFM: Although the Sunday sharing platter seems quite expensive, when you taste it, I think it is well worth the money. Thoroughly recommended.

Food up to usual excellent standard. Service was poor. Place was I would say over busy. Waiters had trouble coping. Big delay before main course.

M&C has always been one of my favourite restaurants and we always celebrate special occasions here. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with my latest visit on my birthday. Firstly, we were shoehorned into a table in a corner at the back of the restaurant, with two other tables right beside us, so close that it made us feel uncomfortable. The decor appeared tired and in dire need of a lick of paint, not what I would expect from a restaurant of M&C standard. The young girl who was serving was lovely. However, after ordering our food we waited 50 minutes for our food to arrive. Not ideal, particularly with two children with us. The food was ok but it was just warm. We had waited so long that we ended up eating it anyway. There was also another table who were in the same boat and who we heard complain to the manager. This put me off and I don’t think I’ll be rushing back any time soon.

The food is always delicious. The chipotle chicken starter is superb Matthew our server was really nice and attentive as are all the staff.

The food was delicious, beautifully presented. Our waiter (Graeme/Graham) was helpful, friendly and was attentive without being at all intrusive. The restaurant was very busy so we probably waited a little longer than usual to be served, but that was ok. The only slight niggle was the area we were in wasn't very warm.

Lovely food as always at M & C but ‘warm and inviting’ it was not. Fortunately on a previous visit to our favourite restaurant, we were seated next to a radiator and, within arm’s length of the control valve. No such luck this time when our closest lukewarm radiator gradually cooled down to ‘cold’ minutes after we were seated. Noticeably, at adjacent tables diners were reaching for another layer clothing as the temperature continued to drop during our Saturday afternoon visit. OK, it was winter, in Scotland, with just 2 degrees outside, and energy prices have soared in the last year but please M&C, do ensure that we can enjoy your brilliant service and excellent food in that promised ‘warm and inviting’ atmosphere.

Never eaten in a restaurant where you HAD to keep your coat on as it was so cold. Most of the people there were all wearing coats which made sense and spoiled a good evening out . Would not return to this location as this was the first time as we usually go too the main one in Glasgow. Food was of course good however the experience ruined by such low temperatures in the restaurant. Other complaint is that the waiter. Must have bumped into my chair a dozen times. Unsure if he can’t walk straight but horrendous waiter. Would never waste good money in here again . Go to the main one and not the trading centre one in Newton Mearns.

Diane was an incredible host. Knew the answer to any questions we had and was more than happy to give recommendations and be honest in the process.

Always quality food and service at Miller & Carter especially at Newton Mearns. Thomas was extremely attentive, friendly and nothing was too much of a bother - including a gluten free menu. He even recommended a sauce that was nicer that what I would usually go for! Top quality all round!

As always an exceptional meal with family our server Thomas was first class as well

Bar was cold and too bright. No atmosphere. Food was mediocre and nothing special. Expensive for the quality of food we received. Tables were very close to one another. More like an expensive Wetherspoon’s than a specialist restaurant. Bit of a dinosaur as far as I’m concerned and in need of a facelift.

Diane is an amazing host and server. Lovely to talk to 10/10 service which complimented the food perfectly! UPDATE: came in again 2 years later and Diane remembered us! 10/10 service again and delicious food.

Food was real good but the service was so much better! Diane is a real credit to the front of house team here and I don't think our dinner would've been half as good with someone else helping us out. She gave great recommendations based on what we were after and spent lots of time ensuring we were happy with everything! People like this deserve recognition and rewards as you don't want to loose them!

The food and staff are really outstanding and will be back again. The only room for improvement is to mark parking bays and update the decor a bit as it is looking tired.

Everything was pretty good but didnt get my mac and cheese

Well I was looking forward to a good quality meal delivered to my home. However, it arrived missing the drink, my steak sauce, iceburg wedge and the ‘crushed new potatoes’ were just halved boiled new potatoes! Not worth the fortune I spent honestly. Wont be ordering again.

Love coming here for Sunday dinner & special occasions. Quality food cooked as per your specifications. We always seem to get the same server ‘Thomas’ who always on hand for additional napkins and/or drinks and such a warm pleasant server. Cannot recommend it highly enough

After being shown to the table by the boy with glasses at front of house, I was rudely told to remove my hat at the table? Is this policy? Because afterwards someone else came in wearing one, was shown to their table by a waitress and nothing was mentioned.. Now on to the food, ordered the fillet steak, medium well, arrived and was raw in the middle. Bit into one part and was like jelly.. Get a choice of sauce with your wedges which we both thought were potatoe, in reality, it’s just a cut of lettuce... The only nice thing about the experience was the waiter. Sadly wont be back and at the price, was majorly disappointed, would not recommend. 👎🏼 Added; Jodie, that’s because the review was updated. Therefore, it tells you when it was updated (last week). The food served, is still the same so still very much valid.

I'm furious i always buy this same food from this restaurant and always its looks fresh and normal size of portion, but what I get today its a joke ,steak its not a 80z size burn and I get 2,5 tiny baby potato thats size of portion not even for a teenager only for a child not for adult person, I always buy this same so I know what I get previously, I'm hungry and tired and I must throw up that food and buy another one im not a pig I will not eat food whats its old ,and nobody will tell me that I'm crazy because I know what I got previously, I call the restaurant but nobody pick up

Our server Leo was excellent! Very attentive and great with suggestions of food/drinks! Never had any cheese boards which was the only downfall for myself but other than that food and service was perfect!

Went here for my 18th birthday, food was perfect and our server Tom was amazing, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and even game me a birthday related desert(see picture). Definitely going back👍

Incredible experience! It was my first time here and I will definitely return. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the staff is super attentive and fast. The food was on point, delicious, and the portions were generous. Everything came to the table quickly, which made the experience even more positive. 100% recommended!

Great service as always. Lengthy wait for 2 mains with a relatively quiet restaurant - probably due to Al a carte menu items during fixed price lunch menu. Personal preference is that St Vincent Street is the better of the 2.

5 star all round. My wife and I shared the butchers block highly recommend as you get a bit of everything. The food was outstanding and waiter Graham went above and beyond such a nice guy made the experience easy and enjoyable with his knowledge and manner…don’t ever change and keep up the good work ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Plenty of choices however I feel the quality of the steaks is slightly inferior to those I have eaten there in the past. Medium rare has always been my choice but the flavour and tenderness has not been there, not so succulent.

Food was spectacular but if I could rate service for 10 stars then I would. We were served by the lovely Diane and have to say she is a credit to the business. So friendly, informative and attentive. I have a gluten allergy but have never felt more at ease in a restaurant. It was my husband's birthday and the little happy birthday plate was certainly the cherry on top of the perfect afternoon out. This lady’s attention to detail is second to none. Thank you again, I hope that Miller and Carter give credit where credit is due to their servers! Thanks again.

3 courses all fantastic king prawns to start,12oz ribeye & cheesecake to finish. My wife had scallops, then 8oz fillet & a fab banofee pie .

Food was amazing. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

The set Sunday menu was great, but it was hard to read some parts of the menu; the print was so small, and the colours were not clear. The restaurant seemed a bit scruffy; the floor had food from the previous diners, and the tables were not in good condition. The food was well prepared and presented/ tasted very nice.

Restaurant was cold, had to put my jacket back on, waiter said he didn't feel cold ❄️steak was chewy,, banoffee pie was pretty awful, overall a bad dining experience

Hi was at miller and carter newton means today with my family’ I normally always go to one in Glasgow city centre’ my son Jay recommended we got to this one which I thought was so much more relaxing’ they have private car park spaces food was so good ‘ staff were amazing chatted full quick service spot on ‘ as we were there to take my daughter in-law for lunch as she just had a baby ‘ there was absolutely no rush lots space for pram ect this restaurant has great staff clean manage always about .loved my visit can’t wait to go back .was most relaxing lunch iv had for long time’ so thankyou to all staff ect for doing a wonderful job xx

Part of the order was missing, cold, not warm, stone cold and presentation of Chicken was not appealing, so much so put me off eating it. Called re missing items 4 times. no answer, left message, no call back. won't order again.

Staff were very professional and helpful especially Paul our server who made our visit for an amazing lunch a great experience. The caramel profiteroles are delicious and not to be missed. Great quality food at a very reasonable price. Already looking forward to a return visit.

Went Saturday 12th October and ordered our food. We ordered the butchers block. I got my plate then the server Thomas said to my husband I’ll get you a clean plate ( obviously plate was dirty) we ate our meals then ordered 2 sticky toffee puddings we waited around 20/25 minutes and it was very cold both the sticky toffee puddings and custard so I think it sat for a while. I also had to ask for a clean spoon as my spoon looked as if someone had used it. I wouldn’t go back there but never had a problem with the one on st Vincent street

I was a bit disappointed, meal was just OK but nothing brilliant as I was expecting, plenty more better steak houses that are better value for money and a good bit less expensive

Excellent food and service. Ellis was our server for the evening and was fantastic. It was our first visit and we will definitely be back. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the starters and sides were beautiful.

**Review for Miller & Carter Newton Mearns** I recently dined at Miller & Carter in Newton Mearns and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. First, the service left much to be desired. Our wine glasses were not cleared away, which made the table feel cluttered. My steak knife arrived just before my steak, and they didn’t take away the original knife, which felt careless. When I asked the waitress for English mustard—a standard condiment for steak—she informed me they didn’t have any. However, another waitress overheard and kindly brought some, which was appreciated but shouldn’t have been necessary. The food itself was underwhelming. I didn’t receive my steak sauce or chips with my meal and had to ask for them. When they finally arrived, I was served skinny fries instead of the chunky ones I ordered. My partner’s cod was rubbery and unpleasant, and she ended up not eating it at all. To top it off, my chips tasted stale, as if they had been sitting in a hot tray for far too long. Overall, I left feeling extremely disappointed, and I doubt I’ll return anytime soon.
