Millar's Restaurant in Belfast

Long wait between courses being served. It was very busy so that might have been a reason.

Service poor, food was poor steak was to be medium came out rare and tough, we waited an hour from finishing a breads starter to getting the mains . They offered to comp the deserts but by that time the evening was ruined which was my wife’s birthday dinner. Not going to repeat this disasters. The customers next to us also had problems not the least of which their veg came after they had finished their meal. The service was poor we had to chase the meals and had to find a staff member to order further drinks. Never again.

We had a family Sunday lunch . It was really tasty . Service was great and there was a lovely friendly atmosphere .

Had great meal in Millars sat with a few friends and can highly recommend. The resturant is so nicely decorated and staff are so friendly and welcome. Only downside we had to wait 3/4 of an hr for our meal which was bit disappointing. Another was toilets which for such a beautiful restaurant were a let down. I think should be 1for ladies and 1 for gents and maybe a bit of refurbishment. Still had lovely meal.

Really enjoyed our latest meal at Millars. It was great to see a few nice fish options on the menu, instead of just a lot of steaks and chicken. Absolutely loved the sea trout with massaman curry. Please keep that dish! I especially loved the crunchy nuts. It would be amazing if there was a mussels and garlic option. We had nice wine, and really enjoyed the mango cheesecake dessert. The only slight negative is that the kids' meals are quite expensive. It would be better if you had a set price for a kids' main and dessert. It becomes very expensive for a meal out with 2 children. If I'm being very picky (because I am about coffee, where most people aren't), the coffee beans could be slightly improved. All in all, though, it was a great meal with great service, and we will definitely return.

Millars took an unimpressive little "shed" and turned it into an attractive place to dine. The menu is inventive, portions are generous and coeliac options are excellent. Staff are attentive and knowledgeable. My favourite place for dining out.

We have just had an incredible dinner at Millars - as first time customers. Myself, my husband, my 2 year old daughter and my mother in law - and we were all catered for beautifully. Gorgeous decor, a fabulous menu, very attentive staff, a very very reasonable bill - I have no faults whatsoever. Furthermore, they asked us if it was a special occasion. We were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary, but because we had our toddler and mother in law with us, we never would have mentioned it! But they asked and we told them and they very generously brought us 2 glasses of bubbles - on the house. We had such a brilliant time at this restaurant - we will be back soon!

Food was well cooked and presented The atmosphere was relaxed yet had a enjoyable vibe about the place. Only minor was the delay in service, probably due to more people being present than I had seen in millars before. This was remedied by the manager offering complementary drinks on our next visit. Highly recommend the slow cooked brisket

Had dinner here last week, food was delicious. The squid bhaji was great and unique. The steak was cooked to perfection and the slow cooked beef was the best we’ve had. The star of the show was the miso caramel sauce on the sticky toffee. Service from the 2 waitresses was great. They were attentive without being in your face and very helpful

Brilliant restaurant in an out of town location. We loved the unusual flavours that the chef created with the vegetables. A good place for vegetarians.

Loved it. Fascinating menu, with the expected standards like a Sunday Roast balanced with things like wood pigeon and roast aubergine with blue cheese. Just perfect service and a strong wine list. It's almost made better by being in Finaghy of all places. Brilliant! Update: even the Xmas menu is great and doesn't force the festivities. Great. Just had Sunday dinner to round off the day after running the Belfast Marathon. Excellent decision!

Visited for lunch today for the new £10 menu. Four of us had three of the dishes and they were all superb. My toddler had sausages, mash and gravy which we all tried (even it was amazing!). Excellent value for money, great quality food and perfect service. Will definitely be doing it again! Thanks!

Went on a Saturday lunchtime and were the only customers. Little disconcerting but the service was pleasant. Had Ham and Rabbit Terrine for a starter which was lovely then an Ox Cheek Bourguignon. This was a huge serving with buttery mash and mushrooms. Portion size was very generous. Would be nice to see the place with some atmosphere but the food was lovely. Couldn't fit in dessert at all. Good for Finaghy to have somewhere like this.

My husband and I had a late lunch here on Saturday. It was our first visit and most certainly won't be our last. We were welcomed by a male member of staff. Lovely manners excellent customer service. He took our coats and accompanied us to our table. I had the most amazing chicken with a delicious isan salad absolutely gorgeous. Oh, almost forgot. A lovely pint too. My hubby had a burger big enough to fed a horse with triple cooked chips. Clean plates, empty pint glass. We both thought the price was very reasonable. Thank you to everyone at Millar's

We had a party for 8 here on Friday night. Our first time there and we where all really happy with our choice to book here,we regularly go out as a group for food and have a fair knowledge of what is out there. Millars offering was right up at the top end on presentation,taste atmosphere and service,a lovely polite and very helpful waitress called Anna helped us all night. The wine menu was delicious and matched our food perfectly,I honestly couldn't fault it and would highly recommend millars for event you might have . Thanks for a wonderful full evening and we will happily come back for more of the same

6 adults for a Thursday evening meal - staff are super welcoming - the restaurant was reasonably busy so service was a tiny bit slow. Starters were good if a little small - mains were excellent generally though I found one or two flavours too many on my plate - I'd describe it like they are trying too hard.

Loved it here, staff very friendly and the food was superb. I had the monkfish which was delicious. Will come again on my next visit to Belfast.

This was a fantastic experience! It was our first time here after lots of good recommendations. The service was impeccable and we were so delighted when my wee Mum was given a complimentary glass of fizz for her birthday- how lovely of you! When I go out for a Sunday dinner I love ordering pork belly as this is something I wouldn’t make at home. I was really disappointed in what I got. It was pure fat with barely any meat. Worse, the fat wasn’t crispy or rendered so it was inedible too. I never bad leave reviews but it was genuinely the worst pork belly I’ve ever had. I told the waitress who advised she could talk to the chef but “that’s what I ordered”. Been here before and liked it. Will not be back and would not recommend. Such a shame.

I had a 3 course meal plus cocktails and coffee with a dear friend celebrating a special birthday yesterday. We had a wonderful meal, very attentive service and a very special celebration. Thank you so much.

Oh my goodness what a gem in Finaghy. The menu choice wonderful. Staff attentive without over the top intrusive! As a diner with dietary issues I was blown away how helpful they were. Nothing was a problem. The only problem was dithering about this review as I am telling everyone how fabulous Millar's is. Shuuu keep this to yourself do you too can experience this fabulous place

Been wanting to go here for ages and it didn't disappoint. Food was superb. Good selection of drinks, even the Guinness was good.

Was here on Friday 20/1/23 for husband’s birthday. Absolutely outstanding, food was amazing from start to finish . Great wine selection and reasonably priced , great cocktail menu can definitely recommend the P⭐️ & Espresso Martinis. The staff were friendly and accommodating the service was fantastic… This place is definitely worth a visit cant find one fault… if I could give 6 stars i would have..

Meal for 2 Sunday dinner menu , lamb and beef , excellent . Staff courteous my only gripe was pint of Guinness was 6 out of ten , probably because it is not getting used enough . Otherwise a nice restaurant

What a beautiful restaurant. Fancy food and delicious. Will most certainly be back. My 2nd time there in 2 months. I believe they have a pre theatre menu up to 5.45. We had a starter and main course with wine and a cocktail at the end. Staff very attentive without being over bearing. Don't pass by this gorgeous restaurant definitely worth a visit.

Went today for lunch. Quite expensive. Found food on menu very calorific. No healthy options. Was nice enough but can't justify prices.Visited the toilet on leaving to find a bad smell greeting you Sewerage?. Nice enough place but don't think I'll be returning.

The cost for everything I felt was overpriced, for the restaurant and location. The food was nice but not amazing or beautiful. 1 steak was undercooked to the instruction which can happen. The stars are for the staff.

What a lovely place!!! I am so impressed... The food is amazing! I'm a little bit of a picky eater, but I can honestly say that I didn't have one fault with my meal. I had the beef cheek and the white chocolate pot and both were delicious! The portions are generous and you can tell the food has been prepared well and from scratch. This restaurant isn't cheap, but it isn't overly expensive either. Considering the food and drink you receive is tasty and it leaves you full, I am very happy! The staff are very welcoming and they make you feel comfortable and looked after. I would highly recommend this place for a nice date night. Great atmosphere too... I'll be back :-)

Our second time here. Even though I was tired the food really did strike me as first class. In these difficult times we have to be careful with our money , as its hard earned. Cuisine as good as the Culloden Hotel., . Staff were efficient and down to earth. If I was looking to impress a client I'd bring them there / this business will get booked out.so be it. Just had another amazing dinning experience at millars restaurant tonight food was great and service excellent 👌

On entering the restaurant it is cosy and welcoming, the decor has a definite mark of someone with a distinct and unique taste and it works for me. The staff are friendly and the service excellent. We visited lunch time on a cold Saturday mid winter and it was fairly busy with what seemed to be a regular clientele. I had the cod fillet which was excellent and my wife had the salted chilli chicken which she highly rated, all washed down with a nice little vino Verde. Thoroughly recommend the restaurant, I will certainly be a regular visitor.
