Milano Restaurtant and Takeaway in Forest of Dean

Yet again, another deeply disappointing and underwhelming delivery and food experience from Milano! Despite disappointments in the past I thought I would try them again as they have recently re-branded. opened another premises next door and have installed a user friendly ap. I ordered a home delivery online - no issues with that at all and no issue with the fact that my ETA was approximately one and a half hours - it was a bank holiday Sunday so you expect to wait. Where I DO take issue is the fact that the food arrived stone cold! To pay over 44 quid for a couple of pizzas, a wrap and some meat, chips etc and receive them stone cold is completely unacceptable! To then ring and make them aware of the situation to be informed that the delivery car left the premises as soon as our order had been cooked and delivered immediately is blatantly untrue - we live just over 3 miles away!?! The fact that the management couldn’t even be bothered to take my call but was shouting in the background to his employee what to say to me says it all… No one minds mistakes, no one minds waiting but please don’t insult my intelligence and tell me my food had been cooked to order and delivered immediately. Don’t rip people off who have agreed to place an order with you and in good faith expect to receive their food hot - well to be fair, you could have had me at warm!! Don’t pass the buck and expect your phone operative to take the flack and not respond yourself to complaints. He’s probably on minimum wage and didn’t cook the food so he’s not the problem - you are. Take accountability, don’t rip people off and don’t send your food out COLD!!

Delivery service is shocking . 2 and half hours for a kebab . Also flat refused cancellation with foodhub and refund . They take your money then do as they please . Avoid like the plague.

Ordered online waited over 1 hor hour to be told it would still be over 90 mins is a absolute joke over 3 hours for a kebab with no mention on their website bit of a piss take

Tried to place an order of a kebab and chicken bits … they could not even give me a time when it would be ready … they said they would call me back when they had space on the grill! Never heard this before in any takeaway or restaurant… very poor service

Super friendly and quick take away service with a diverse range of delicious pizza toppings for a hungry family with teenagers.

These people keep me very well fed with tip-top fodder and they're, prompt, polite and (conveniently) just over the road.

Absolutely awful. Two hours plus for a simple order. If you don’t mind what time you get your food, then carry on.

Really tasty food, pizza is always buy one get one free and the BBQ chicken is delicious, the sides of onion rings and cheesy chips set it all off perfectly

Staff helpful . Orders pizzas rang after an hour . Still waiting 2 half hours later . Rang lady very apologetic on phone but swearing all heard in back ground . Asked to speak to manager and being told to F .. off in back ground !!!!!!!!!

Foods decent and seems freshly cooked. Just a shame their delivery timings are out. Told one hour, waited more than two.

We have a kebab here every three weeks. Never disappointed with the size. I have a small chicken and my husband has the large lamb. He alway has some kebab left to eat next day. Keep up the quality and size portions and you will have our custom forever.

Staying at a campsite not far away we were hungry after a long drive. Had a pint in Coleford (not good) & decided to grab a few beers & a takeaway & go back to the site. I have to say that the Pizzas we got from Milano's were far better than any we'd had in the past from a well known chain Pizza delivery company - even cold in the morning (they were more than we could eat in one go at night) ! Well done Milano's - we'll use you again when in the area.

Really good food good value for money delivery is on par really friendly staff and able to accommodate customers to a great standard 😃

Should stay away from here. So I brought a pizza from here, took it back to my hotel to eat it halfway through eating it we spotted a hair. I called the takeaway and told them what I found, they refused to get my money back to me and told me to come collect my money so I did, once I arrived there the staff were very aggressive and made out it was my fault me to open the box and show them the hair at this moment they were threatening me. I don't normally write bad reviews but because of the way I was treated I decided to.

Have ordered from here a few times, love the pizzas, good variety seeing as I'm fussy. Good garlic bread too

If you want to use Milano I suggest you collect your order and do not use the delivery service. In my opinion they cannot fulfil this service so should not offer it in the place. We ordered a takeaway for delivery at 7.40pm and were told it would be a 70 minute wait, which was ok. At 9.10pm I called to chase up as we were still waiting. We were told it would be yet another 20 minutes, no apology, no explanation, nothing. So we cancelled. Really? Almost two hours for a takeaway? To be honest this was the second occasion this has occurred so we won't be using them again. They honestly could not have cared less, customer service was at absolute zero. And even when it is delivered within the hour and ten minute slot, they snatch your money out your hand without so much as a thank you. Shame as the foods really quite good for what it is which is what won it two stars from me.

new to the area really fancied pizza but im very fussy! but gave it a go and wow! huge selection and my pizza was lush! lots of topping good size. will definitely order again

Great place for takeout pizza. And delivery is only a quid locally. Can well recommend. Other foods available. Burgers. Kebab etc

Non ho molte parole da spendere su questo bar,mi trovavo in zona e mi è venuto in mente che da quelle parti c'era questo bar, molto famoso, anche a livello internazionale.

Tuvimos una comida para llevar durante una estancia en las vacaciones del bosque. Servicio amable, gran relación calidad-precio y la comida es estupenda y entrega rápida. Lo recomiendo.

Milanos take away catered for 60 hungry youth at the Mount of Olives church youth weekend and they did not disappoint! Really good quality pizzas and efficient service.

Recently tried a kebab from this place on a whim. Not the nicest kebab I've ever had but better than some.The staff were friendly and talkative while order was being made.It is in no way a restaurant and should not be seen as one.The bad score is down to the actual kebab I had. It was warm, not hot, and there was not a lot of grease. Will not return

We chose to have our pizzas delivered. The menu had plenty of choice for meat eaters, a couple of vegetarian options, but no fish option. We waited about 40 mins for our pizzas to be delivered.They arrived hot, and were very tasty, the crusts being thicker than we are used to, were very light. Our meal was also great value for money being buy one get one free!

This is a takeaway with a couple of formica tables in the waiting area. It is not a restaurant in the conventional sense so the score reflects this as I think it is massively misleading. However, we had takeaway pizzas which were very nice so the review must be looked at with this in mind.

Very good value for money with 2 for the price of one. Deep pan, freshly cooked and tasty with good choice of toppings.

Went there twice during our stay in the area, amazing food and great service. Would recommend the Pizzas, delicious!

The delivery driver short changed us and when I called to complain they said the driver didn't have enough change and was going to deliver another order and will be back ( why didn't the delivery boy tell me on arrival?) and I never heard back from them !!!

Recently ordered takeaway for a group of friends & can honestly say if we could hav ate it all we would of. I usually hate olives, but the pizza we choose had black olives and was great. Would recommend the takeaway any day.

This place is sooooo bad it just isn't true.When I arrived to get a takeaway pizza the two staff members were kissing.They stopped at their own leisure when I tried to get their attention. Made my order to the rude staff. The pizza was basically uncooked underneath and warmed through. Almost like it was microwaved.Disgusting staff and food

Great takeaway pizza with generous sides! We have only tried the takeout not the restaurant but it was delicious!! Phoned through the order and it was ready in good time to collect, pizza was hot and generously topped with everything we expected.... we had opted for an offer with fries and coleslaw sides and both were good, particularly recommend the coleslaw which was really creamy. Some good meal deal offers to choose from aswell!!

i hated everything i hade to leave to go to another restrount called balti hut it was so delicious the food should be expected the food is to salti and its too much for me and itss to expensive

I have not sat in the restaurant to eat but with how good the takeaway is I could only imagine the restaurant wood be great. Pizzas are of fantastic quality and I have just tried the warm chicken and bacon salad.it was beautiful.will be having that more often.service is always good and they are all very polite and welcoming.good on you

We went to Milano's on Xmas Eve for a family meal.I would like to say all was good.The meal was lovely, and the polish lady who served us was very friendly and helpful.For sure, we will be back in the New Year.

On a way back from north, decided to stop in a Forest. Such a beautiful place. After a long walk we did try to find something to eat. Some young couple told as about new place in Coleford that is been open for a food. It was easy to find. Insted to have a take away we decide to sit down in a little restaurant- only few tables. Been served by a nice and proffesional( I think Italian) waiter. Food was great and didnt have to wait long. Chicken nice and not dry, pizza on a thin base the way we like it. Very impressed with cappucino:) Also good value for a portions. Definetly go back if we again in this area.

Best place in the Forest Of Dean, last comment said staff are Polish and they cant speak english, they can speak better than the person who wrote the bad comment.The food is very nice, the restaurant is very clean and the staff are very nice.This is the best place ive ever been into.

I was in Coleford on business early October and wanted to try the new coffee shop in town with my colleagues. As soon as we walked in we were ignored for about 10 minutes to the point i had to ask to be seated, once seated it took another 10 minutes to get a menu and the small foreign waitress with long dark brown hair in a pony tail came over to the table in a haughty manner and basically demanded our order. I was shocked considering this is a fairly new business and I hold many morning meetings in coleford and was looking for a small quiet place like this to hold them. But after the service i recieved in the first 20 minutes I will NOT be embaressing myself in front of clients. The food was disgusting it was completely wrong but i didnt mention it as the small waitress was not interested that we were happy or not and to be completely honest her english was terrible surprised if she understood the order. She seemed too interested in what drama was happening behind the scenes and flouncing round in a huff to be bothered with the numerous customers. The coffee was weak and almost cold, no amount of sugar could improve the taste it was so bitter. Overall this experience was one of the worst in my life and I will not be reccomending this place to my business partner or clients. One other thing i would Add, i did not like the atmosphere in this place you could cut it with a knife there was obviously something going on behind the scenes as none of the staff were smiling and were unhappy in their work.

The food u get from milanos is always hot and very tasty u get alot if food for the price u pay witch is really good mostly Tuesday when the pizza are by on get on free u would not be able to get a better pizza than what u get from here I have also came here in for a meal and I got milanos speacial and the chicken wuz really nice just cook write and also the services u get is brilliant I would recommend all of my family and friend to come here cuz it's the best around

This is mostly a takeaway venue I would suggest however it has a little restaurant - @20/24 covers. It doesn't have a license but you can take your own alcohol if you like. The choice of food and cost was very good and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Good portions and freshly prepared pasta dishes were just what we were looking for. Had a pizza takeawy from there on another occasion - again this was very good fresh, hot and flavourful. Nice clean loo too!!

Went here with 5 friends on a Saturday night. Definitely book as the restaurant is very small but staff were friendly, eventhough one of them was Polish and didn't speak much English.The restaurant is unlicenced so you can take your own alcohol but they didn't have enough wine glasses for everyone and it took them half an hour to find a cork screw.I ordered a starter off the board from the waitress then 15 mins later someone else came out and told me that I couldn't have it as it was for lunch time only. Not sure why it was on the board if I couldn't order it and the waitress should have known this.Main course (Fusili amatriciana) was ok but the pasta was overcooked and a bit mushy. I'd also asked for plain bread, not garlic bread but was given garlic bread and two slices of normal bread with nasty white margerine spread all over it, not what I was expecting!Had panacotta for pudding which was spoiled by the squirty cream all over it.Prices were reasonable but there was a £2 per glass charge added to the bill for the use of wine glasses, funny considering they didn't have enough glasses for our table and there was no mention of this by the staff or on the menu so was a bit of a suprise!We probably won't go back here.
