Miju in Edinburgh, City of

We went Miju for dinner because our hotel is very close by Haymarket so this place is just a short walk from the station. We were greeted by a sweet waitress and she explained the menu and chef’s special very well. We ordered a good variety of food such as a sashimi platter, Seabass, yellowtail, Otoro, Uni sushi, etc takoyaki, salmon tarter, and Tonkotsu ramen to share. The food were so delicious and fresh. And everything was freshly made by a Japanese chef at an open bar where you can see it’s made to order. We added an Eel roll at the end and it was the best roll we have tried anywhere else. We are so glad we found this little gem in Edinburgh. Forgot to mention, the atmosphere there is very Japanese izakaya style. You feel like you are traveling in Japan. Last but not least, this place is also reasonably priced for what you get. Fresh ingredients, great chefs, amazing food, lovely vibes and deco and warm service. 10 out of 10!

Absolutely delicious and lovely atmosphere. We dined with Miju for lunch and tried their seaweed salad, gyoza, spider roll and ramen. All of the dishes were tasty and prepared fresh. Couldn’t ask for better! Will definitely not be my last visit!

A fabulous hidden gem with lovely staff, fun atmosphere and great food. The sushi was amazing and we just kept ordering more! Great value too.

Delicious food and absolutely wonderful service from Bruno! He made accommodations for us and even took photos of our family for us. We were in Edinburgh for 2 nights - went here the first night and everything was so lovely we came back the second night! Intimate dining space with lots of cool decor. We tried items from all parts of the menu and all were amazing but I would highly recommend the miso ramen personally!

Really friendly staff. Great food. Quick service. The kids love it in here and they are very accommodating and tolerant of their noise. The kids love all the fun things to look at on the walls. Our favourite dinner destination. And it's not over priced.

Sadly staff very disinterested and spent all their time on phones. Food good but very small portions size so left hungry which was disappointing.

I went with a group of friends for dinner. We tried their new dish prawn tempura udon. It was 10/10. Super crunchy delicious tempura. We also tried varieties of sushi such as salmon, red shrimp, sea bass and seabream. I can say this is the best sushi I’ve tasted in a long time. The chef is from Japan and he is very skilled and the sushi rice is just perfectly prepared. I feel so lucky to have such an authentic Japanese restaurant in Edinburgh. It’s definitely a gem!

My family and I had sushi and ramen. The food was flavorful and well-prepared. If we ever return to Edinburgh, we will undoubtedly choose this restaurant for its delicious Japanese cuisine.

We had such a lovely time eating here. It has a quiet and relaxed atmosphere, family friendly - a small birthday family gathering was happening the evening we visited - couples and friends in small groups around, calm and friendly service, excellent food and a lovely selection of drinks and desserts to enjoy.

Had a fantastic lunch here. My partner has been a few times before with colleagues and had been very impressed. This was my first time and I thought it was excellent. We had a couple of starters - Karaage Chicken and Takoyaki (Octopus balls) followed by the Classic Sashimi set (and a bottle of really well priced wine). They were experimenting with a new way of presenting the Sashimi (which looked great) but all the food looked lovely and tasted amazing. The inside of the restaurant is really cool with lots of Japanese memorabilia (I had walked past a few times and the outside doesn't really show how nice it is inside) and the service was excellent.

Simply delicious! Lovely people and superb food, a little taste of Japan in Scotland. Only been open since September 2023 and a bit out of the centre but trust me it’s worth a paltry £5 Uber ride to sample this place. 10/10.

Absolutely wonderful little gem! Traditional and authentic with warm hospitality. Myself and my partner dined here last Tuesday evening. We LOVE sushi, especially sashimi and we have dined in many Japanese restaurants in the UK and abroad. This little place is the real deal, top grade sashimi and they even went off menu for us to try special Sea Urchin the traditional way. We cannot wait to go back! Don’t think about it just book! Delicious food, particularly the ramen we had (TanTan Men and Miso). A few menu items weren't available but it was a busy Friday and perhaps that's an indicator of a fresh ingredients approach. If I had to pick something disappointing, albeit only slightly, it was the gyoza. Staffed by a small but dedicated Japanese team. Tokyo in scale and style - cosy and wacky!

This is a really great restaurant. Usually I'm not a big fan of Japanese restaurants outside from Japan, but this is a really fantastic place. Sushi was very good and fresh, service was attentive and kind and the atmosphere fantastic. I was feeling myself in Japan! I suggest this restaurant to everyone.
