Mien Tay in Wandsworth

I take no joy leaving a 1 star review for any restaurant. But this was really not good. We ordered vegan and got 2 massive bowls with big chunks of undissolved stock cubes that had no resemblance to a pho whatsoever. Really disappointed. If you can't do vegan don't do it and don't offer it.

OK for the price, but not as good as it used to be... Ordered lamb curry but there is only a few slices of meat.

The food, service and atmosphere was great. I would suggest the restaurant to my friends

The change it ownership has transformed the place for the worse. Food is nothing at all like it used to be, very bad quality. Will not be coming back

tofu pho very fragrant and delicious

Delicious authentic beef pho exactly what we needed on a cold December afternoon. I love the raw bean sprouts and herb addition to the hot soup, giving out divine aromatics as you slurp your noodles. Not usually busy at lunchtime so you will get a table without issues.

Best pho I’ve had so far in London. Comes with proper lime, mint and all the right sauces. Still yet to live up to the pho I had in Manchester but it’s decently authentic and worth it.

Arrived 30 mins before closing last night and welcomed to take a seat. Ornate glass and wood designed tables with picturesque inlay. Comfortable and soy, siracha and chilli oil/ sauces on the tables. Reasonable priced menu for a beautifully presented plate of great tasting and fresh food. My lady finished of hers with a smile while I had enough for lunch. Also met performers and staff from BAC who enjoyed as did we.

Best food in South London; authentic and exciting menu and excellent service. Deserving of all the awards they have won, and more.

Exceptionally quick service and delicious food. The free prawn crackers was a nice touch. My one disappointment was that I found the rice pancake a bit tough to eat, but all the rest of the food was great. Lots of vegan options. Highly recommend.

Food is da best I’ve tried in London so far !!

Used to be one of our favourite restaurant, but the taste of the food all changed ever since they changed the owner. The price gone up so much too…. Won’t come here anymore.

Not cheap but very good quality food and service

My husband, I & our children enjoyed our wedding anniversary celebration dinner here. We thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes we ordered and the staff were friendly, courteous and very attentive to all our needs.

Went there to have pho. It was decent. Huge menu and the restaurant was cute. There's a sign for cash only in the restaurant so be prepared to pay in cash.

My favorite place. They might be not very friendly but they do serve great food. Never tried better pork fried noodle other than this.

Nice place to get a Pho and Vietnamese food

Most authentic Vietnamese restaurant in South London, producing the tastiest and freshest dishes to savour and enjoy. Be warned they are usually very busy during dinner service, so I would advise to call in advance to avoid disappointment.

Amazing authentic pho, bring cash, definitely worth it. Huge bowl of pho with plenty of meat (my photo doesn’t do this justic) rare few places in london that serves lime instead of lemon, and beansprouts and mint along with the noodles

Excellent food. Freshly served. Cash only. When we arrived at midday it was very quiet, but this was probably because it was the coronation day.

Had a delicious lunch here today. Fantastic food, friendly service. The papaya salad and the goat with galangal were especially good, but we also loved the spare ribs and rice paper rolls. Will be back very soon.

Very good quality Vietnamese food. I liked their fried squid and spring roll, it is crispy but not greasy. The seasoning is just right. The service staff are very customer oriented. I would love to come back to try more of their food.

Its Vietnamise places, and it looks just like that - asian restaurants, and you could swear it's family-run: small, cosy, and nit pretentious, and the waiter speaks English enough to communicate. What they lack spoken English, they compensate in their friendly, helpfull approach. I went there for a quick dinner before going further for the night. The food is delicious, felt freshly prepared, came super-quick (note that the place was not too full as we went there very early evening) good portions, and if you don't want to - no need to but a starter. No dessert option, though. Great menu with plenty to choose from. Also: CASH ONLY, and if you forget to bring it, there are cash machines nearby.

On the menu on Uber eats it has a “new vegan section” I ordered three things off of it and when they arrived two of them contained meat (the bun hue and vegan pork). I called up and did eventually get a refund but no one apologised that I had already eaten some of the “vegan pork”. At first they denied that the menu says vegan, even though it was literally written on my receipt? As I say the women on the phone really didn’t understand the gravity of what she had done to me as I had chosen not to eat meat for the past 8/9 years and didn’t seem to feel responsible for it at all.

Very good beef noodles, authentic and worth trying

The clay pot chicken curry and papaya salad are both delicious! I’ve eaten a lot of dishes from here and never disappointed. Not a huge drinks offering and the staff isn’t super friendly, but the food makes it worth it.

Always a good place to go, for lunch or dinner. Never disappointed, years after years!

I want to say thanks very much indeed for the dishes prepared delivery as it was refused by several deliver persons which is understandable under such freezing cold weather. It took almost one hour and half to arrive, so I thought it all must be arrived cold under such weather. But it’s all still very warm! It obviously shows that they had to prepare all the dishes again when there was a deliver person eventually agreed to deliver. All delicious!! Thanks very much again!!

Good atmosphere and authentic food at a good price

Food is good but raised their prices by 30% in one go while also reducing portion size. Understandably everyone is struggling but at least don’t do it all in one go… will be ordering less now. 🥲

Disappointing. Food came out quickly but it was quite bland and some of it badly cooked. Salad rolls were nice, spicy ribs were awful - very tough and no meat, soft shell crab good. Beef curry was bland with gristly meat, the meat in the stir fry noodles had been boiled, not fried. Prices have gone up significantly too which is understandable at the moment but food has gone downhill. Can only pay with cash or bank transfer.

Found this little gem, a replica of the one in Hoxton which is one of my favourite Vietnamese restaurants in London and this one doesn't disappoint. We got the Pho Dat Biet (beef special thick rice noodles in broth) Pho Ga (chicken thick rice noodles in broth) and they were lovely, fragrant and plentiful. The service was perfect, very pleasant and friendly and we waited no time for our food. Only down point are the herbs - they don't give you Thai basil which is a shame but otherwise a great place.

This restaurant has a good reputation I been to there other branch in Kingsland High road and the food is consistently excellent. I visit this restaurant on 4/06/22. Food we ordered was beef&brisket pho,chargrilled chicken with honey and spices, pork spare ribs,special fried rice I will recommend Mien tay definitely will revisit this branch also there offer bring your own bottle. With a small corkage fee only beers or wines allowed.

Straight up love this place! It’s one of my go to favorite local spots. The salt & pepper squid is always a must. Working my way through the menu the Phó is an essential order. The rice dishes are in point as well. Highly recommend

Highly recommend this place for authentic Vietnamese food .it ticks all the boxes.

Great food and thoughtful service. We had the beef pho each, as well as catfish, fresh prawn rolls and morning glory. The standout dish was definitely the catfish (pictured), which had a rich flavour. Thank you again! Will be returning when I'm in Clapham.

I work close by and for 3 years have been trying out their dishes, I haven't found one that would be lacking in any way. Absolute gem, unpretentious, food is fabulous and prices very generous for the quality and portions.

Delicious food, plenty of great vegetarian options. Three of us had loads of food, a bottle of wine and a few beers and it was £80 with service. It's cash only - if you miss/ignore the four or five signs on your way in like I did, there's one just down the road at the Post Office.

Fantastic food. Good portion size and reasonably priced. One of the best Vietnamese restaurants.

I went to this restaurant on the 24th of March. Unfortunately the service we received from one waitress in particular was appalling. The waitress (a middle aged woman dressed in all black) rolled her eyes and audibly sighed at every simple request we made including questions about portion sizes and when we asked for new plates between courses. I was stunned at how rude this woman was towards my family and I and will not be coming back.

Seems like a family run restaurant - really good portions and nice for a casual dinner. Just remember to bring cash.

lovely place. small but cosy. A huge variety of food choices which can be altered to your request before ordering. fast service and an amazing selection of wines. You can also ring and collect no delivery at present try and get there early or pre-book a table as always very packed there is a downstairs available but they use this only if upstairs is overcrowded.

Stunning pho, richer style with good fat levels, lightly pickled onions and herbs around. Nice iron tasting rare beef. Noodle are thin and slippery, perfect level of chew blended desire to instantly swallow. Spring rolls here are delectable too with nice fried shredded pastry giving a beautiful crunch. Everything I've ate here has been top class although have to say I had an eel galangal episode where I was told they did have it then didn't have it then did have it and it ended out coming out with no spice after everyone had finished eating. I was gutted but doesn't take away from this place being a perfect venue I often revisit.

Nice food but I have had better Japanese food......there have a range of small platters but if you know quality good, than I wouldn't recommend.......

Came back to this restaurant after a long time and was reminded why my family and I love this gem! Would recommend getting a little bit of everything and sharing it. Fresh roll really is fresh - spring rolls have a lovely light crunch. Frog legs were tender, curry flavourful, squid salt-ily delicious.. Pho reliably good as usual. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone that loves real Vietnamese food.

Love this place, great food. I’m taking a star off for the takeaway packaging which is everything but environmentally friendly. Otherwise would definitely deserve 5 stars for a great price-to-quality ratio. Better to eat there.

I used to live in Saigon so am fussy/snobbish about my Vietnamese food. This place is great, all dishes authentic, generous portions, fresh ingredients. The emphasis is on the food, not fancy decor. The way I like it.

We ordered a bunch of dishes to reminisce about our holiday in Vietnam during a time we obviously cannot go on holidays. We especially wanted to find a green papaya salad and Mien Tay had one and it was delicious, the pancakes were also very nice. Spring rolls are a nice starter as you will find in other places and the special fried rice was good and tasty. Stir fried duck wasn't our favourite as didn't think it would come in a broth with ginger and spring onion but somehow expected it to be crispier. Still we were so very happy with the food, especially the green papaya salads.

Note: it’s cash only (there are a couple of ATMs on the hill towards Clapham junction station). We really liked this place. The service was quick and friendly. It feels like an authentic Vietnamese restaurant and the furniture (especially the cute tables) really aid that. The Traditional Crispy Pancake with Prawns & Pork was delicious (and huge! Definitely enough to share between 2). I had the Vietnamese clay pot curry with chicken which was really flavourful and rich. My wife had the beef brisket pho which was insanely delicious too. The broth was so clean and flavourful and the beef brisket so tender.

Me encanta la comida vietnamita y he estado aquí varias veces. Tardaron un poco en abrirse después del cierre, pero puedo decir que esto fue para hacer las cosas bien. Tuve tostadas de gambas y carne Pho y ambos estaban deliciosos. He estado dos veces recientemente, y admito que he pedido las mismas cosas en ambas ocasiones porque eran tan buenas.

Good selection of food. We ordered pho as it was the recommended dishes. The pho was great, not too bland and authentic. The portion is huge!! See the picture for yourself :)

Wow no me di cuenta de que esto tenía críticas favorables. La elección de la comida y el servicio fue excelente. La comida que tuve fue deliciosa y mis amigos también disfrutaron mucho de su comida. Lo único que no te dicen hasta que llegues allí es que solo se necesita efectivo. Así que a 2 minutos hay un cajero automático, pero luego está la máquina disponible. Así que asegúrese de llevar dinero en efectivo.

Food is very good, particularly the host with lemongrass and the salt and pepper prawns. Pho is ridiculously large. Gets crowded on Saturday evenings especially. Does not take cards.
