Lovely venue and food, pleasant, cheerful atmosphere and staff. I visited with friends .We all enjoyed our meals. We had the Lamb, Red Wine Lasagne, and the Pie of the Day (Chicken ). For dessert, we had a double brownie, creme burlee, and the Honeycomb dessert. It is definitely worth downloading the Vintage Inns app as you can collect loyalty points ( Please ensure they scan it, before paying). Then you will receive,.. 1st, a complimentary drink, next 20% off mains, then a starter or dessert free and last of all money off your meal. Then it will start again. You can also get extra offers, For example:, currently, 33% off and a kids starter or dessert until 27th September 2024. There are several Vintages Inns around the uk to try. We have visited all in the Wolverhampton area so far. All are nice. We would definitely recommend these pub restaurants..

We found this by accident but so pleased that we have. Beautiful meal very tasty and friendly staff.

We all had the Sunday lunch, the service was good and the meat and most of the veg was good. Except for the roast potatoes, I believe they sat on the plate before being brought out and sat on a surface that keeps the plates warm, so the potatoes were a bit burnt on the bottom and tough to cut. There was six of us and nearly every chair needed to be repaired, basically the joints of the chairs are loose and rocking side to side.

We had a very warm welcome from Salvatore. We had a lovely table with plenty of room for the four of us and two dogs. We were looked after very well all evening, food was good, service excellent and it was reasonably priced.

1st visit today, both me and the wife both chose the Sunday carvery, the pair were more than satisfied with the meals ate all of mine and my wife only finished half of hers as it was very filling. 10/10 to the venue and all of the staff,we will make a return visit.

Like the atmosphere & food, our waitress Maria was, welcoming, professional, attentive and polite as usual, a credit to the restaurant. Salvatore is also a great ambassador for the restaurant. Many thanks to chef and colleagues.

We had a table of four booked on Monday , singer was on who had a great voice . We have been here numerous occasions and always had great service and food on this occasion we left disappointed order was taken and starters came soup was ok the other starters were hard as if they had been reheated , but before we had finished the starters our main meals arrived we had to ask for cutlery and had to go to the bar to request sauces . The chicken schnitzel was burnt and at no time did the waiting staff ask if we were happy with the food such a shame was made to feel like they wanted us out as payment was requested as soon as my friend had put their knife and fork down

I had the pie of the day for lunch. Very nice pie but the accompanying mash and veg were luke warm. Clearly reheated and not freshly prepared. And not heated enough. When mentioned to staff, they seemed unbothered by the feedback. Definitely had better pub lunches.

Went here for my mum's birthday and it was lovely evening. The ambience was great with clean and cosy seating under lamplight. The food was simple but well cooked, great flavours and presented well. Our server was Danny who was very attentive and personable, cannot fault his service. Would return, this location is fab.

Nice clean pub, nice staff. We had a few beers, some scratchings and some burgers. All good. Would go again. Nice area for walking along the canal too.

The pub is in a great location. There is a large seating area but booking is essential. You will be disappointed if you don’t pre-book. Booking online is easy. The food is good, popular dishes sell out quickly especially on a Sunday.

Went for lunch the food was good.

I had the calamari starter which was delectable. For my main I had the scrumptious 10oz rib eye, which was on par with Miller and Carters steak if not better, shame there isn’t a 14oz option as I would have opted for that. For dessert I had the lemon tart, it was scrumdidlyumpcious. The service was also great. Had brilliant service from Ryan will come again as I have done before 😃

Bearing in mind this is one of my local restaurants, on this occasion it failed, To uphold the quality of food purchased on the day, something that doesnt happen very often. Especially in this Restaurant. The food on this visit was bland, lacked flavour, and in all a disappointing meal to say the least. Unfortunately the Pork Belly Has disappeared from the main menu, knowingly one of the very best dishes that this restaurant has served for quite some time now. Such a shame. Please return this Main meal to the menu asap. In future I will be watching the menu to see if it returns before booking a table. Ps on this occasion the warm Chorizo Scotch Egg was a let down, & the Mac n Cheese was flavourless.

Lovely pub but let down by the food. My partner and i had the mac and cheese, it was so dry and a very small portion. We ordered fries but were given chunky chips. Our friend ordered a chicken and avocado salad, the chicken was hard and dry and there was no avocado. Certainly won't be eating here again.

Lovely pub Great service good beer

Having just moved to the Wolverhampton area a few months ago, I will sometimes visit a bar / pub / cafe in the city or suburbs of the city to get a feel for general atmosphere & availability of drinks & food. I popped inside The Mermaid in Wightwick on a walk recently and I am very impressed with the presentation and atmosphere of The Mermaid throughout ~ it is not overly modernised but inside has the perfect atmosphere - there’s no drown-out loud music on, no large screens blaring out football matches, and the other customers, even ones with children, respected that it was a quiet & respectable environment. If you like traditional pubs I would say come here.

We came here after our favourite pub, The Springhill, had no tables available. The inside is really nicely decorated, like a comfortable country pub. Danny was our server and he was superb! We asked for a straw for my Mom's drink as she is having chemotherapy and can't have cold drinks unless with a straw. Danny told us he didn't have any normal sized straws, only cocktail size straws. However he took the drink away and brought it back in two small glasses with small straws. This showed extreme sensitivity and we were really impressed. We had two steaks and a couple of starters. Both steaks were cooked perfectly to our preferences however one was extremely fatty and a lot of fat had to be removed before it was edible. The rest of the food was great. The desserts were also good. The only downside is the cost. Nearly £24 for a steak is quite a lot of money around this area and the Springhill is cheaper and the food equally great. Danny is an absolute credit to this place. Some of the best service I've had in a restaurant.

The meal was piping hot and hot plates which is very unusual in pubs these days. The waitress was brilliant also.

Lovely old pub, lots of dark wood interior. There is a set menu, which is £16 for 2 courses and £20 for 3. Good, interesting choice in food. Our food was very tasty. The car park is quite small and narrow.

Initially the service and main course was ok, we waited over 40 minutes for a desert and after we chased the waitress is was brought out, the custard was almost cold and had a real thick skin, the sticky toffee pudding was hard and left a weird after taste, and possible the worst one we had ever tried

Out waitress, Maria was first class. Very friendly and efficient.

Chicken burger and burger was awful. Very disappointed. However bar maid refunded on of burgers. Won't be returning or singing it's praise any more.

Called by for lunch today (bank holiday), whilst visiting nearby Wightwick Manor. We booked on line which was very easy. The staff were all very diligent, the food was great, it’s a very nice pub. We were even allowed to park our car on their car park after finding out that the Wightwick car park was full. We had 3 dogs in our party of 4 and a baby and it’s very dog friendly. Our table had been reserved in the bar area & it was a very nice setting . A great first visit where first impressions count in my book. Well done to all at the Mermaid 👍

Very nice pub, food was excellent. We ate off the set daytime menu, which was reasonably priced and great choice and quality. Unfortunately, this pub is not close by for me as I was visiting a friend, so I may not get a chance to go again, but I would most definitely recommend.

Had lunch here on Saturday, very Dog friendly, excellent food in really comfortable surroundings. Great staff.

We drive past randomly and thought this place looks beautiful. Came in and got a table straight away. Gorgeous food for vegans (like me) or meat eaters like my family. Our server Kylie was so attentive, friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Dog and child friendly ! Thank you everyone

I have been many times and it is always nice food

Service from staff was impeccable. We were greeted, shown to our table and attended to very well throughout our time at the Mermaid. The rating of 6 is for the food. The menu starter of 'Signature King prawn cocktail ' is a myth. There was not a king prawn in sight but rather small shrimps. Again for the seabass, no king prawns, broad beans or tenderstem broccoli but rather a 3 florets of broccoli. You wouldn't mind if you're notified of the changes or lack of ingredients/stock but this find this is a regular occurance with this particular branch Vintage Inn's. This isn't the case with Oaken Arms or The Vine but Mermaid will either always either change or miss an item or 2 from your meal without notifying you. The service is 10/10 but the execution of the menu description to what you receive always seems to be lacking.

My family visiting from USA and I had a fantastic time at The Mermaid yesterday. Maria, who I think, was the sole waitress in the pub provided excellent service during the busy lunch hour, nothing was too much for her and the food was delicious. We will definitely be visiting again!

Lovely ambience, all staff were very welcoming with special mention of Maria our server who was attentive at all times and certainly added to our enjoyment of the day. Food was excellent altogether a 5 star event..

Not been in the pub for ages, had just come back from hospital and had some bad news given to me. Treated the wife to dinner, food was very good.

Great service. All staff made extra effort to make a visit by two 90 year olds, one whom is blind, as enjoyable as possible. Nothing was too much trouble and much additional thought was put into service - extra napkins, quiet seating area etc. staff always smiling and happy to help. Most food was great but chicken burger overly crispy and dry. Would really welcome the introduction of no alcohol wine.

Came for Sunday dinner and was served by Salvatore, with most of us having a starter and a Sunday main. Starters came quick pate was nice with a rustic bread and pickles. This was nice with just the right amount of bread to pate ratio where I would normally find myself asking for more bread, not on this occasion. After starters we didn’t have long to wait for mains, with majority of us having turkey and one of the group having beef. This is an unbeatable Sunday dinner one of the best I have had, plate comes with meat, carrots roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding with additional veg coming separately and as much gravy as you want. Can not fault this Sunday dinner and the service from Salvatore was exceptional. We will be back!

Booked the only table in the dog friendly area, in the bay window and also requested table confirmed by phone for Thursday at 2 pm, got there at 1.50pm but table was not free, so had to sit elsewhere. This is the third time this has happened, so never book a table because they ignore your request. Food is okay but service isn't that good and no menu for people with Celiac and no drinks for Celiacs either. There are better places which are not so pretentious!

The service was very good, quick, polite and helpful staff. Food was delicious. Flavours of lasagne were amazing. Pate and mushroom starters excellent. My partner enjoyed the pie. Definitely recommend you. Hope to come back soon.

Out the on the bikes with my mate and pulled up for a pint and some food had from the bar menu and the hot scotch egg and sausage roll was banging and we will be back again

Nice pub, surrounding are nice. Did find one of the members of staff slightly stand off-ish, as if we were an inconvenience for him being here( that was only one member of staff) all the others were friendly and attentive.

Had one of the best Sunday lunches. Kylie was our server, lovely, charismatic and friendly. Food came out really quickly and was honestly delicious. The decor is warm and cosy but ‘upscale’. Would highly recommend.

Had a lovely evening here, we tried to book online but it kept failing, then we called the automated service which told us the time we wanted wasn't available but then suggested an available time that was the same? We ended up just turning up and were offered a table so all good 😊 Food and service was top notch! Will be returning soon!

Food was cold and the waitress was abrupt and rude won’t be going here again I only asked for some apple sauce and was glared at and told with a roll of her eyes there was none no need to be like that I asked politely and still no explanation weeks later?why am I being ignored?
