Lovely service just seen a person put hair in his chips and scream at the cashier doing the order youth of today are disrespectful 😡😡😡

We visited today, the service to begin with was amazing. Happy smiley faces from staff. Made sure we had spoons, tissues, sauces etc which just makes the whole experience pleasant. Food was fresh and tasted divine. Thank you will visit again ☺️

I really can't understand people leaving terrible reviews of this place, I've always found the staff very polite and courteous. The food is always hot and delicious, beautiful fish and good portion sizes, what more could anyone want?.

Cracking chippy, lovely cooked food, nice variety and the chicken wings are tasty! Would recommend as your local chippy.

The food is absolutely disgusting 🤮 and what is all that orange grease left in the food 🤮🤮🤮 it was dripping with it 🤢 the food was also bland and it was just not nice and won't be eating there again definitely one of the worst chippies I eaten from!

Very friendly staff polite helpful food tremendous have hod a lot of meals from here all sorts of things but lately I have a mixed meat wrap with chips curry sauce and a bread and butter roll the mixed meat wrap is fabulous 👌

Love the food here and you get a good potion of food first chippy I went to when I moved to Aldridge and been there a few times since.

The owners of this chippy need to train their young women staff properly, they can't even cut my donner meat, instead they butchered my meat into triangular chunks. Very unpleasant to look at and eat.

Great Chip shop with lots of choice and friendly staff

I'm 42 and have been using this chippy for as long as I can remember. Since George has stepped back I find the staff a bit arrogant and unwelcoming, not all of them but enough for me to use a chippy up the road which is actually cheaper. Bit sad really. My wife always has a chicken burger and the lad with short hair who seems to be in charge sometimes looks at me like he's trod in something when I ask for the burger to be put in

So I would've given it a 4 as prices and taste are quite good, but there's an issue. Hair. I've had hair twice in my food from there, which of course is an absolute joke. I don't plan on ever coming back, I will happily take my business to the gregg's nearby or chikaros on the other side of the road.

Out of local chippies will say they are the best. Great staff. Friendly. More choice in food. Some don't offer a lot, or you have to wait.

I have been using Aldridge Chippy for years and have no issue with quality of food - it is always top notch, but I have to agree with other comments that their portion sizes are smaller than they used to be.

Go past this chippy all the time on the bus and always see how welcoming, clean and busy it is. Today we finally had the time and went in. YES, it’s exactly as we thought, food fantastic and really friendly service. If your around Aldridge this is the chippy to stop at 5 stars!

Had to change from a 5 star to a 1 star. Last three times I’ve been, the Donna meat portion size has halved!!!!

Fantastic staff and food. Best chip shop around, they go above and beyond to make sure there customers are happy, super large portions , extremely clean, large choice of food to suit all tastes , been going here for over 10 years, don't even try to go anywhere else, keep up the good work guys your outstanding

Doner meat and chicken was pink. Made me ill. Owners reply - my reply. It was the doner meat and southern fried chicken. I didnt called at all so was nothing to do with "No free food" and thanks for the offer of a kebab but "No Thanks"

Been going here for years. George and the team are always happy to serve me and the kids, food and service is amazing as always. would defo recommend. oh and portion sizes are huge and they always try and work out the best deals for what i want to make it cheaper for me. can’t see any other place doing that.

Oh my goodness where to start.. how about worst chips ever!! Large ish portion but cost £3 and they were very greasy tepid rubbery and loads of black bits, absolutely awful. Chucked 90% of them first and last time I will visit.

Great chippy. Staff good, always pleasant. Great value even with recent price increase of fish. Always good quality. Sometimes a big queue on a Friday/Saturday about 6ish. Post covid, all back to normal. Still can get busy between 6 and 7pm on Friday-Saturdays. Open 7 days a week.

Ordered fish chips sausage curry and peas , value for money, the fish is nice the batter spoils it no taste to it. its like a watery taste to the batter no flavour at all but around its OK will I use again don't think so better chip shop around with tastier food ...

Disappointed with my last take out normally food is fresh this was dry and tasted like it's been out all day normally I'd give this a 5 but there rating for food has fallen bought a large mix meat n chips with salad everything was dry and cold definitely Disappointed

In my opinion, this is the best fish and chips within our area. Staff are friendly and there is always a queue, which shows the quality of food. Staff work hard to ensure it moves quick.

If stated closes half 9 on Fri night and you turn up 20 past simply for a bag of chips, may I add after calling them on phone at 9pm and the man clearly stated half 9 tonight we close..I show up 21.20..lights on food still in the wotsit thing ..fish battered sausage etc..guy n 2 birds chatting away..however door locked..we closed mate..well I suggest change your time table...clearly they wanted to get the pub or something..screw the customer..yes sounds peti from me..but I was realy looking forward to a nice bag of chips with loads salt vinegar to go with what I had at work already..thanks

Food and staff were lovely prices was great too not often I enjoy a chippy never really have but being a mom sometimes is a quick fix after a long day or a nice treat that don't break the bank. I ate every last bite the dog was not impressed tho :))

Hadn't been for ages as the last visit the potato fritters were just batter the potato seemed to b cut by a madalin it was so thin. We revisited had burger & chips plus sausage & chips & curry sauce it was totally different it was hot & very enjoyable.

This is undoubtedly the worst chippy I have ever been to ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING FOOD , I ate 3 chips and threw the rest away , they had a Gray tinge to them and were all bad OMG DO NOT EAT FROM THIS PLACE

Bought a cone of chips. It now costs £2.00. I am guessing that a small portion of chips could be more expensive than £2.30. Did have more than one or two bad bits in. Otherwise the chips were cooked as I like them. Looks like I will not be be able to afford even a cone of chips very often. The prices have probably gone up due to cost of fuel or price of cooking oil going up.

Burnt kebab meat, unedable I messaged on fb but no reply this chippy used to be the best out, but gone down hill now. Shame as used to enjoy there food.

You don't get better than this chippy. Good quality fish, nice chips, kebabs are great, decent curry sauce... Can't fault it.

Nice chip shop. Fish is really good. Chips are hit and miss, outside of chip is too soft so get mushy. Could do with offering battered chips, which are crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Donner kebab meat is also poor quality and sliced too thickly.

PLEASE DONT REFRY YOUR CHICKEN FROM TEA TIME AND GIVE IT WITH THE FRESH IN THE EVENING. I had one fresh piece which was nice and then the second was like a pork scratching. The meat inside was brown and smelled funny.

Visited yesterday evening and bought fish and chips, which were lovely. However, when paying by credit card I asked for a receipt and was told by Hannah that they don't give you a credit card receipt only a till receipt. I don't understand this, it is personal choice if you have a receipt or not and I always ask for one. I worked for a bank for 24 years and always keep a record of my purchases. Think if we go again, I will pay by cash.

It seems to be & hit and miss here sometime its good sometimes it's bad, but the staff are welcoming & freindly.
