The best flat white in Manchester with a selection of delicious cakes - most of them gluten-free - and the most incredible customer service I've ever experienced in my life!! A MUST VISIT!

Cosy atmosphere, great coffee and pastries (recommend pistachio & ricotta cake), but the star of the show is the service!

Not only was it voted best coffee in the whole of Manchester in 2022, the focaccia paninis are unbelievable. Dog friendly, lovely ambience and beautiful decor inside, staff and the owner are very friendly too. I’d post a picture of my panini but I’ve already eaten it. The pastries and cakes etc are fantastic. 10/10 would recommend

Mercado is a mix between a cafe and deli. It's a great place to get a coffee and snack, but does a good selection of panini too (I recommend the Milano). You can sit in or take out, and there's a decent selection of Italian/Spanish food in the deli section.

They truly get to know you and even remember your preferences, always going above and beyond to make you feel at home. The food options are excellent as well. I personally loved the Mi Cubanito Focaccia Panini, with pulled pork, ham, and cheese and the empanadas. Plus, if you speak Italian or Spanish, you'll find friendly conversation flowing easily.

The best coffee I have tasted in Manchester, the food is very good, very friendly service and they help you with the selection of wines and give you cooking tips with the products they offer, I am in love with the golfeados, a typical sweet from my country Venezuela , the donut filled with nutela is to die for.

Me encanta este café. Hemos estado muchas veces, a veces en el día para comer y tomar café, y a veces en la noche para vino y postre. La comida es muy buena, en particular me encantan sus bomboloni (rosquillas rellenas). Su selección de vinos tintos es espectacular. Buena música fría ahí. Realmente es una pequeña porción de Europa, escondida dentro de un bullicioso West Didsbury. Me encanta Steven y la pandilla, tan amable!

Love this cafe. We have been many times, sometimes in the day for food and coffee, and sometimes at night for wine and dessert. Food is really good, particularly love their bomboloni's (filled doughnuts). Their red wine selection is spectacular. Good chilled music in there. It really is a small little slice of Europe, hidden within a bustling West Didsbury. Love Steven and the gang, so friendly!

Didn't have the best first impression of Mercado. 5.50 for a matcha latte is a bit steep, and our order was wrong. However, the person who made the cafe bonbon was very nice. I'd be open to trying again.

Es realmente uno de los mejores cafés de Manchester, un ambiente encantador, muy acogedor y una gran selección de pasteles, aperitivos y más. Amazing! Drinks and atmosphere were great

It’s a lovely place, however the decaf coffee is very poor. It was not freshly ground and is served far too hot. It is disappointing that they don’t put more effort into their coffee as the look of the place is great.

I was ordering just 2 drinks, was told price of the drinks went to tap my card. They had put a service charge on of 10% then the card machine also asked for another tip?? Happy to pay service if I get food and if the service is listed on a bill clearly but this seemed dishonest to me.

Usually come here in the day - always serving amazing coffee and handmade pastries. Recently came for the jazz night - gorgeous atmosphere, drinks and hand-carved serano ham. All staff are so lovely and friendly! Highly recommend here

The best cafe in Manchester. You'll not get a warmer welcome than you get from the staff in Mercado. I've only been in this place a few times over the last couple of months but they never forget my name or my order. Such a special touch. The coffee is unmatched too!

A cosy cafe-cum-bar, Mercardo is a great place to visit both during the day and the evening. The food is always great, as are the drinks. I always have the Cubanito when I go- a shredded marinated meat sandwich on an almost faccacia bread muffin. The best part about Mercardo though are the staff; they are always so welcoming and are always up for a chat, particularly the owner. They also know everything about the food and drink so will go into the detail of everything. It’s a great spot in the evening too, it has a chilled vibe with live jazz music when we went. A must visit on Burton Road

My father, my sister and me were in Manchester for a reunion. On our first morning we were looking for a breakfast venue and were lucky enough to stumble across The Mercado Cafe Bar. We were welcomed first by staff who took our orders and then by our patron, Victor who welcomed us again as he served us our meal. We enjoyed sitting in the sun (it doesn’t rain every day) and eating our breakfast so much that we returned the following morning. Whilst our menu choices were different each day we enjoyed them equally and pronounced them ‘delicious’. When we return to Manchester we will certainly return to The Mercado. Thank you to Victor and to your lovely staff.

Had the Mi Cubanito and Cafe Bonbon with condensed milk. The focaccia was toasted to perfection, the pork juicy, the pickles and mustard added so much. Fantastic service, would recommend.

It’s a pretty place but I was disappointed with the arepas, they were soggy and cold, I ordered cheese and chicken, it was ham chicken instead of real one , we order a Spanish sandwich that was good

I really like this place. I've been here a few times. They make really good coffee and the best chai latte. However, I wish the staff actually paid attention to what I order. I came today and I got a chai latte to stay in because I wanted to sit down, read a book and get some food and I was given one to take away. On a different occasion I came with a friend, we both got coffee with oat milk and we were given normal milk.

What a great little find this place was last night. Most bars in the area were too loud to hear ourselves and found this place which was nice and chilled. The owner gave us great service and recommended us a great wine and de cantered it for us. The lighting and music created a lovely ambiance. It was that good we stayed for another bottle. A hidden gem and a great place to go if you are on a date

This is the real deal. Everything made in house. Authentic. Not over complicating. I Just done proper. I asked for a recommendation and the girl was super helpful. The best sandwich (polio mexicana) I’ve eaten in a long time and then the pistachio cream doughnut was something else.

The pastel de nata were stale. The pastries is very stiff, and chewy. I did ring but no answer.

Amazing late night bar and the best coffee in Manchester. Went today for a morning coffee with my mate. The staff were amazing and friendly and Vito is so passionate about his coffee and his shop. We then came back in the evening and were taken care of by Steven. Bought a Serrano Ham platter which was to die for, responsibly sourced acorn fed animals with quality supplied focaccia bread, olive oil and seasoned goats cheese. The combination of fresh quality ingredients at an honest local independent cafe is great. This place serves both as an amazing cafe and bar, so for the platter you've got to come in the evening. The freshly squeezed orange juice is beautiful and the selection of wine is beautiful and tasty. Come here both in the morning and evening - the staff are nice and the food and service are even nicer. Will come back to Mercado again and again!

Loved this place, great atmosphere and a great selection of authentic beers from the hispanohablante world. From the music and beer it feels Argentinian and the empanadas looked fantastic, rueing the missed opportunity as we were heading out but a revisit for food is on the books.

This place was an absolute joy! Beautiful coffee, the filled doughnuts delightful, the owner and staff a complete treasure. Honestly one of the best cafe experiences I have had for many years. Topped off when the lovely, kind owner went out of his way to wish us farewell and safe travels as we headed back out into the cold and rain. The whole occasion put such a spring in our steps for the rest of the day. Thanks for having us!

Impeccable service, the owner is so hospitable and ensures you feel right at home. Only came for drinks but the options were great and authentic to the theme and you are given bar snacks to eat whilst you have a few drinks. Really recommend

The food here is amazing but what makes Mercados even better is the friendly staff who can’t do enough to accommodate you and get to know you every time you go in - they really make it a lovely environment and are all about community. The menu has so much to offer - when I come here with my boyfriend we always get the café Bon Bon and one of the sandwiches. The focaccia bread it comes on is the best I’ve tried and I can’t recommend coming here enough!!

Visited on a damp afternoon and this place made our day. The food, paninis and soup...... excellent. The coffee is amazing, I rarely have more than one, but I couldn't resist a second. The staff too are very friendly. I also bought a bottle of quality olive oil and the chef who may have also been the owner took the time to give me advice on my purchase. It's always great to see owners and staff who are enthusiastic about their products. It's definitely a place that my family will visit again and again.

Excellent empanadas and fabulous pasteis de nata - only surpassed by the vanilla cheesecake. Called in for a quick snack and ended up eating far more than I should. I'll definitely return once I've burned off the calories. The staff were very friendly and added to the experience

Can’t recommend Mercado more highly! Lovely atmosphere and wonderful food, especially the empanadas and arepas. There are lotsa delish vegan and non-vegan dessert options too. It’s dog friendly, with great music, and the staff are all incredibly warm, caring, and welcoming. Great for couples, friends, and family meet-ups (including outdoor seating).
