Melissa Restaurant(Edgware) in Harrow

Not sure I'd be rushing back. Ordered 4 large mains, all came with small chip portions and a small salad for the table to share, I asked about a larger size as we had 4 mains. But the 2 staff i spoke to were a bit rude. Rather disappointing as it used to be a favorite; but if prices are getting higher and portion sizes smaller, not sure it's worth it, especially when there's loads of similar places near by.

We absolutely adore this restaurant! The food , service and atmosphere is out of this world ! We hold all celebrations for family here as the team also make us feel special 🙏 if you are in harrow it is a must visit and eat till your heart is content ❤️ thank you Melissa team my family really appreciates that you go that extra mile for us 💯

The staff at this place need to wear a smile and act less like an AI robot. The service is extremely poor, and the staff does not help the situation. Almost 30 minutes wait between starters and the main meal. When asked for the bill, a staff member acknowledged what was said. However, she continued to set a table up in front of us. After a little while, she was seen walking around aimlessly, so I asked another. There is no efficiency in their behaviour, almost battery-operated, which needs charging. I then walked to the counter area to settle the bill. The honest thing to do, but had i walked out, i don't think anyone would notice. Highly disappointed - it's a shame because the food is decent. This was today at the Edgware Branch.

The food, the manager, the staff the chef all brilliant, I went for my birthday last night and the attention to detail by the whole staff was amazing, the food was piping hot and tasty, the staff were all lovely and kind especially Madelina and Luchiana. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

First time eating here wasn’t disappointed. Greeted warmly on arrival, our waitress couldn’t have been more attentive. Food amazing, lovely atmosphere. Owner came over and spoke to us making sure we had enjoyed our evening. Couldn’t recommend high enough. We will be back

We had the Platter for 2, but to be honest, it's barely enough for 2 hungry people. The food was very tasty, nothing to complain about, but I believe it's a bit expensive for what you get. We have received only a small bowl of chips enough for 1 person, which again doesn't justify the £45. For this price, I was expecting at least a decent portion of chips enough for 2 persons. And the lack of attention of one of the waiters. I asked twice for more bread, and she didn't bring any more. I looked in the menu before leaving to see if the bread was listed as side and I had to pay for extra bread, but no. The waiter she was just ignorant. Still overall, I believe it's expensive.

I ordered two Portions of 8 wings as a takeaway and was charged £36. They were good but I think it's overpriced for this area. Higher prices than in central London.

Been going mellisa for years now. Really solid performer. Very consistent. Food is fresh and of a good standard. Staff are good too. A few steep price increases after refurbishment (which looks amazing I must say) but this to be expected. Overall a nice local grill restaurant.

We came from Sweden and tried this restaurant—it was one of the best and coziest restaurants we’ve ever visited. The meat was absolutely perfect!

The meal is cheaper in the canons restaurant. We initially went to the harrow one but was overly expensive 🫰. The service was ok. The waiter was nice however she didn't take my feedback seriously. The food is good but very acidic. It was not balanced and I had gas. The salsa was too acidic. No vegetable or attempt was made to garnish the fish at £19 and the meal was £45 for the platter which is priced reasonably but food science wise not good. It's midnight and I'm having gas.

Quality food good but quantity not as expected. Ordered the sharing plate for 4-5 people but to be honest even not enough for 3... The waitress running around and looking into plates to see if you have finished eating giving you the impression they want you gone for the next customer.

By far the best kebab in London! No drop in quality at least from 2016 since my addiction to this place started! The team is fantastic too. Thank you Melissa!

Decent food at a decent price, it's not the best I've had but is decent and good value for money. Was my first time there and went for the mellisa platter, exactly what's written on the tin. Service was great and fast, friendly staff and welcoming. It looks like it's recently been done up was a good experience.

it used to be a take-away so we wanted to order a lamb kebab wrap and a falafel wrap to go-but the wrap is not available anymore so we had instead a box-not happy with the portions,you get 4 small falafel with a bit of humus and a piece of bread and the same for the lamb.very little salad and no pickled green peppers.disappointing.we won't be back.

We ordered three lamb kebabs and were shocked at how poorly it was presented. The meat was carelessly thrown into one box, the salad in another, and there was only a measly portion of naan bread. The quality was nowhere near what we’ve experienced at places like Kebab Land in Harrow. To make matters worse, we ended up feeling unwell after eating it. An absolute waste of money—terrible experience!

It is a very nice restaurant in its newly renovated state. We enjoyed a wonderful meal. The best Adana Kebab we ate in London!! The prices are very reasonable for such a stylish restaurant. A warm atmosphere appeals to everyone. Everyone, from employees to bosses, is very meticulous. Definitely recommended. Thank you for the hard work and efforts of everyone involved. 🙏🏼

We’re ordered from here and will never be going back. The hot starter plater was £20 for 3 falafel, 2 pieces of calamari and a cheese parcel. The main portion for the price was also very small compared to a mixed grill special platter for two when we order from other places and not as nice! Not impressed at all and won’t be going back!!

Attended melissa on Saturday evening with a friend. I found the food lovely and the staff very attentive. Complimentary bread with humus, pepper and garlic sauce. Main course I had grilled chicken with rice. Portions were good, struggled to finished. Prices are very reasonable. Found a new gem.

Ordered max platter! Was enough for 6 people..and left overs. Brilliant marination on Shish and wings. Kofte was the very tasty and properly spiced and seasoned. Only let down were the lamb ribs...too fatty. Give those a miss. Wish they had draught beer..however bottle Efes was nice.

Delicious food and huuuuge portions! Plenty of vegetarian options, particularly enjoyed the cold mezze platter. Quite busy so recommend making a reservation on the weekends.

Great restaurant, popped in after a day out at Wembley and boy was it worth it. The whole experience was very good. Food was tasty and plenty of it, good service from various members of staff. If I'm down that way again we will definitely call in again. Thank you.

Dined in restaurant this evening.. Last-minute decision so had not booked a table. Knew it had moved couple of doors down but didn't expect the warm welcoming modern ambience.. a very nice surprise even though me and my son felt so under dressed in our joggers 😂. We were seated immediately and the staff were so efficient with taking and serving order in a super warm and friendly manner. Nothing was a too much ask.. All the staff were brilliant but a shout out to our main waitress Diana thank you so much. The food was fresh and came out warm with complimentary bread basket served with houmous and dips and the best chilli sauce I have had. Difinitely very good value for money with no service charge. Well done team Melissa will be dining here more often

My review is from an angle of a vegetarian, not a diner who eats everything so I cannot comment on all dishes. Whilst they have a varied selection of veggie items on the menu, starters through to mains, I was disappointed to learn that all veggie fried items, i.e. falafel, chips e.t.c are all fried in the same oil as calamari and other seafood / meats. This to me makes it NOT vegetarian. I appreciated their honesty however and I hope they do set-up a separate fryer which a lot of restaurants do as standard these days. Overall, the service was fantastic, very attentive and courteous and the new venue looks high-end. Good selection of beers/drinks. And my fellow diners were happy with their dishes.

Amazing restaurant with great service. Fresh food and not rushed. Minus one star for not having Tequila Gold which is on the menu twice - but that is being picky.

It was the long awaited opening of the new Mellissa restaurant today and it did not disappoint. The restaurant interior and ambience is superb! The food and customer service is exceptional - and as we have always experienced. We are so pleased we now have a new venue when we feel in the mood to get dressed up and go somewhere upmarket. We highly recommend this venue!!

Amazing food! Loved it always. Visited here like 20th time and always they make sure the food tastes great. Loved their complimentary salad and breads and humus , perfect blend of dressing and sauces is just amazing combination to enjoy your meal . Tried chips with meat and it is good. Must try rice as it’s cooked perfectly and they’re just awesome. All the shish menu is their specialty. You just make sure to tell them “well done” if you like cooked properly. Delicious food!

Although it says hand-made doner, their Doners are frozen, unhealthy , not recommend.

Some customers put their bare feet on furniture, staff saw this and didn’t intervene. Will change rating if this behaviour stops.

We have enjoyed our recent visits I had chicken wings rice and salad and my wife enjoyed the grilled salmon.

This is written mid August and the restaurant is moving to new premises almost next door within 2 to 3 weeks. Even here in the old place the whole dinner was outstanding, including the service. I couldn't fault anything if I tried. And they serve proper Turkish coffee! (Forgot to ask them about the coffee beans they use. Just divine.)

A wonderful Turkish restaurant in the midst of Stanmore and Edgeware. Yummy food, lots of free salad breads and dips, smiling service and the meat platter to die for. The wings, ribs, seekh kabab etc all fantastic. A restaurant not very expensive. A restaurant I would visit again and again. There to celebrate the 90th birthday of a family member and they made it memorable.

The brunette romanian lady she is very kind and nice woman but is a tall Turkish guy who prepares the food there is so rude …….

Lamb ribs were amazing, best I’ve had in a long time. Staff were really attentive and played with my son even though he’s very shy. Very nice experience. They gave a lollipop to him as well at the end.

I got some wraps for takeaway from here. All very tasty and decent size portions. Restaurant was very busy with diners which is always a good sign. Will be returning for more.

Amazing restaurant, fantastic service, and tasty food. Had a Melissa mixed platter with family, as a fan of kebabs I can instantly tell the chef has a done a fantastic job. The waitresses were very helpful and looked after all of us. Would definitely come here again

I often eat here and the food is lovely BUT find it mean that lunch time menu is £12.50 , for a small side and then main and the then the Main is with either chips Or Salad OR Rice ,,just for presentation and bit of lettuce and tomato /Cucumber which would cost nothing but look so much better

The food is here is incredible. I'd recommend the special platter; all of the meats perfect cooked; tender and tasty. you can tell everything is prepared fresh included the salad that comes with the platter. All of the staff really friendly.

Melissa’s restaurant 7th April 2024: Booking 7.30pm for four people. Went last night, first time, with friends. Very busy and very noisy. Before our mains, we were served complimentary salad, yoghurt dip and hummus. We ordered and paid for more variety of salad as there were four of us. The yogurt dip and the complimentary salad both had hair (a long single strand) in each. When my friend spoke to the owner of the restaurant. He ignorantly replied. You have done this before in my restaurant and if you don’t like it, don’t come back here anymore. To be fair, the food was very mediocre and we will have no problem in not retuning there. If you do go. Check carefully your food does not contain hair.

One of the worst food quality and staff attitude specially at the counter who is taking orders rude attitude seems like the owner with light beard guy .. everything was cold when i ordered mix doner and attitude was rubbish. Cold bread salad was expired completely and doner was like cooked a week ago . I had to throw the entire food in bin . Ridiculous turkish restaurant ever mellisa

We was in the area and discovered this little gem on google and what can we say it was absolutely delicious we had a mixed meze starter and a Melissa special platter for 2 the dips was all homemade and super tasty and the bread was lovely warm and soft. We then got stuck into us platter amd the lamb just melted in your mouth it was to die for we opted for rice instead of chips and all the juices from the meat went into the rice too. There was loads here we couldnt even eat it all and the lovely staff members said they would pack it up for us to take home too. We then washed this down with a Turkish coffee which gave us the much needed caffeine fix after nearly going into a food coma for the long journey home. Weve told my partners lad if there team play against Barnet again next season we wont mind driving again just so we can visit again. If you are in the area be sure to visit and enjoy the lovely meats cooked on the coals.

My very first visit with my friend (who has been telling about this restaurant for ages) last night. WOW!! I was absolutely blown away by the really high quality meats , taste and portion sizes … Seriously it was amazing! The level of service was incredible too.. The fabulous waitress Anna really looked after us. Nothing was too much trouble for her and her lovely smiling face and positive energy made the dining experience complete. Then we met the owner who was utterly charming , humble and a genuinely nice guy. We also met the head chef and all his team who were so happy that we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I will DEFINITELY be going again and ABSOLUTELY recommend that if you’ve never tried this restaurant.. it’s a must go to dinner..

You enter into an area with a cooking counter on the left with three possibly Turkish gentlemen ready to cook food. In that area are around seven tables, and a toilet. Go to the back of that area and round to the left is another seating area, quite spacious with perhaps another ten tables and a further toilet area. The restaurant appears clean. The food includes a range of starters including sausage, borek, lahmacun, and a range of main courses including doner, shish, meat with yoghurt. All menu items can be viewed on the restaurant website together with prices. Starters are around £5 and main courses around £13-16. I personally like it if in a Turkish restaurant the person taking the order speaks Turkish. Here unfortunately not, so couldn't practice my Turkish. The waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful. However the delivery of food leaves a lot to be desired. You get bread with dips, then some more sauces, presumably for the bread. The bread is lovely. In most restaurants you would then wait for the starters which would arrive together. Not at Melissa. One person's starter arrives with the bread and dips and the other person's starter arrives about five minutes later. No announcement "here is your starter" just put down by dips so you barely know it is the starter. When the other person's starter arrives, instead of the waitress doing what is done in most restaurants and wait until starters have been eaten, then clearing away starter plates and then bringing the main course, at Melissa whilst we eat the starter a salad arrives, which you are unsure what it is for, you then are told it is for the main course, the main course arrives whilst you are eating your starter, so you have the food sitting waiting whilst you eat. It is like ten year olds have taken over the restaurant, are doing their best, but haven't quite learnt it all. The food itself is very good in terms of portion size. Certainly generous. Certainly value for money. However my starter was something I have had in other places where it has been crispier and nicer. The kebab with rice is just the kebab and the rice, little effort to make it look nice, no sprig of parsley or something. The rice tastes bland. The meat is cooked nicely. You are offered sauces. The atmosphere is ok, nice videos, a music video on the wall, nice painting of Turkey with mosques and the sea. They don't offer desserts, they don't ask if you want coffee, they don't give a small baklava with the bill and the Turkish guys near the door barely open their mouths to say goodbye. The food is good value for money, the service strangely unprofessional and a lack of class that other Turkish restaurants often have.

A delightful lunch. The wraps we ordered were gigantic, filled with delicious falafel/chicken shish. The taste was exceptional, thanks in part to the tasty sauces that added a burst of flavor to each bite. Service was impressively fast, and while waiting for our order, we enjoyed some freshly baked bread that was a pleasant and thoughtful touch. Food is great, always. Service could be significantly improved. Maybe it was just the person serving us, but she couldn't follow the order properly, brought water instead of a soft drink and then charged for that glass of water with the price of a soft drink and wouldn't budge when we spotted it on the bill, eventually refunded by another staff member.
