McDonald's in Coleraine

Lacklustre service and food. Sad. Just no care given at all.

I visited this McDonald's drive-thru around 8:55 pm on November 11th, and unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. Now I do understand it's McDonald's. I am not expecting 5 star service, however I think as a paying customer the least I deserved was basic manners. While I was placing my order, I could hear loud cursing in the background, which was unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. To make things worse, the person taking my order openly mocked my accent and snickered over the microphone when I mispronounced a few words, which left me feeling embarrassed and disrespected. This person truly needs some training, I also can't imagine him doing the same thing to a man. Completely disrespectful! He probably thought he was being funny, but it was really just vile. The lack of customer service skills here was shocking, and it seemed like the staff could benefit from thorough customer service training. When I drove up to pay, the lady at the window was nice and took my payment. However as soon as she shut the little window she started tossing paper cups at her colleagues in the kitchen. I am sure management would approve of such waste.This lack of professionalism definitely impacted my experience. I hope the management can address these issues, as I’ve had much better service at other locations.

McDonald's in Coleraine is reliably good for quick, tasty food with friendly service, but the access can be a real headache. The road in is often backed up with traffic, and it’s too narrow to handle the demand. If you’re in a hurry, it’s usually easier to park nearby and walk in rather than queue with the cars!

Third time ordering a delivery, eventually came so late the food was cold and as usual the delivery man went to two wrong houses before he came to us. Coleraine store delivery men do not know the area.

Was very busy when we went in but the food was served quickly and was all there and tasted fine 😁

McDonald’s Coleraine cancelled a delivery order an hour and a half after it was placed. Said it could take up to 15 days for the refund and then the man on the phone in the restaurant was extremely arrogant, rude and shouted at me for wanting to complain. Absolutely appalling customer service. I would like to give no stars if possible.

McDonald’s at Riverside, Coleraine, is fantastic for a quick and tasty meal. The service is always fast and efficient, even during busy times. The staff are friendly and helpful, making sure everything is just right with your order. The restaurant is kept clean, and there’s plenty of seating available. The food is consistently fresh and hot, whether you’re grabbing a classic Big Mac or something from their expanding menu. It’s the perfect spot for a quick bite in Coleraine, and I always leave satisfied. Highly recommend!

Alright food and good location. However, it is not worth the long wait via the drive-through

From out of the country, here on vacation. Somehow, the ordering machine had a full-blown aneurism and took my money but didn't give me a ticket. Concerned it didn't get my order, I waited at the counter for upwards of 10 minutes for anyone to notice me, much less approach me and assist me. After someone did tend to me, I waited another 15 minutes before I asked where my burger was again. They had somehow lost the order completely and forgotten I was waiting. After the manager finally made me a new order, it took ANOTHER 10 minutes before I received my predictability cold food. Obviously, being from out of town, it's hard to say whether or not this is a regular thing, but I was less than impressed. At the very least it was clean.

All good, fast, clean and unbeatable value.. Menu as usual, pretty standard and no exception in this restaurant. The toilets and tables are very clean. We could see staff actually walking around and cleaning it after customers left..

It was just its very busy usual place. Click and serve never seems to b open. Everytime I go I put in my order to get through it and realise it isn't working and have to go in or through the drive thru.

Drive thru always rammed. Have got my order wrong a few times, but when it's right, it's always standard McD quality.

The drive-thru function is shocking. Abysmal. A waste of my few precious moments left on this Earth. Some might say "go somewhere else then" Believe me I would if this wasn't the only place in a 60 mile radius that was open past 8pm! I know that Northern Ireland has a "slower pace of life" but hey guess what- it's called FAST FOOD Not sit in your car for 10 minutes and wait for 3 cheeseburgers food. Waste of time. Do yourself a favour and go to sleep hungry.

Has went way down hill lately. Started to employ lots of foreigners. I avoid now.

This is one seriously popular McDonald's, especially since the new facelift. Great fast food & super efficient staff. No matter the size of the crowd you do not have to wait long for service . Update March 2024: The miserable penny pinching franchise owner now has the absolute cheek to charge for condiment portions! I mean this particular outlet is super busy and is clearly making massive profits but it seems they want even more! I've dropped my review to 3 Stars, the miserly franchise owner has seriously irritated me! And I've just found a hair in my porridge this morning 😳

Has got to be costly for a family needing properly fed.

Great McDonald's. Great service whether you're going in the store or getting click and collect or drive through. Recommend for a visit

Very unhelpful staff. First mcdonalds I've ever been to where they charge for ketchup and as we had gone through the payment window they refused it

One of the most fast paced and busy environments to work but the staff keep a friendly and welcoming attitude towards customers fair play it’s not easy to do these types of customer facing role’s especially working for the most in demand fast food chain in the world!

We went to Coleraine McDonalds on 10/7/24 after we had been bowling. We do this on a regular basis and have never had an issue no matter how busy it has been. However on Wednesday, it was busy but I have seen it busier at other times, we placed our order as usual and then I waited and waited and waited for our food. My order number showed on screen as ready to collect then disappeared completely. I continued to wait. The owner was very active in trying to get the queue down at the counter but looked at me 3 times and still failed to check my order. Then from the drive through bagging section a staff member appeared with what I knew looked like my order, he set it down behind him and walked off to help another staff member with a till issue. Eventually another staff member in a white shirt asked someone else to check if all of my order was on the tray, he took his sweet time doing this and handed me my food. It was cold, and my frozen lemonade had melted so it was like juice with ice in it. I was so pissed off by this stage I didn't even want to stand in the queue to complain. Worst experience I have had in a long time.

I was in cadets for summer camp, McDonald's food was by far the tastiest thing in the world once I came home. Thank you 😭😭

I paid for book in my daughter's happy meal and also a Fruit bag which I didn't receive and only realised when I got home. Expect better service

I was not going to McDonald's but tim Hortons the traffic management around these two business is poor their was a queue of cars for McDonald's I got stook in ,this was for the drive through but traffic to Tim Hortons their was none is it possible to have two different lanes for two business

Salad in wrap was not fresh but the rest was fine

Very very busy McDonald's but it is a Mickys. Was annoyed as they had forgot to put in cheese dippers which I was charged for. Also it is getting alot more expensive than it used too

Did not like this experience I saw a worker scratching his bum and then touching all the food and constantly sneezing I requested a refund absolutely ridiculous will not be here again

Standard McDonald's all good if you're driving and need some quick food.

Ordered- double sausage & egg McMuffin no cheese, no butter. With a normal coffee. Received, with butter & cheese went in told them showed internet order, they fixed it, gave me another went to the car, again had cheese, returned got another one, checked it in the store, finally was right, got to the car thinking my coffee will be cold, opened the coffee and it’s some type of fancy one, not black coffee took it back staff was less than pleasant at this stage, left the food on the counter and asked for a refund, was told this wasn’t possible by a child standing behind the till, asked to speak to manager and was told there wasn’t one in store, won’t be back, traffic around the whole retail park is ridiculous! Why sell extra land when clearly it was required for the lines and lines of traffic.

Really enjoyed this visit to our local McDonalds with a close friend. Staff are always friendly and polite and would correct any problems without a fuss. Shout out to the guy who does the power hosing and cleaning around the grounds. He always makes you feel welcomed and is up for a pleasant chat!

Great staff always willing and happy to help, pick up stands outside are very handy. Best fast food chips other that a normal chippy and the chicken nuggets seem to be taking over the world. I would definitely have to say the coffee is fantastic. Would go back for that alone.

Had food delivered from here, not sure if it's the store or the driver but when my food arrived, the drinks looked like they had been thrown into the bag. The coke was mixed into the icecreams I ordered. All the napkins were also drenched in coke which obviously makes them useless. Not the best experience. The food is no better, found hairs throughout one of the burgers which tells me the staff are possibly not using hair nets or just aren't wearing them properly. I would usually order once a month from here but the last few experiences have not been pleasant.

Usually not one for complaining , but this is the third time in a row my order has been wrong. This time none of the extra dips and sauces have been added, missing burger and fries. Tried to call to rectify, however no answer. As the saying goes, “once is a mistake, twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern”.

Culchy central. It was like a farmers market with brown shoes,blue jeans and body warmers everywhere.

Very disappointing range for wheat/gluten free. Considering mainland Europe McDonalds serve GF burgers etc ... its time NI got its act together... There are more and more food intolerant people every week.. you guys are missing out on our custom!!

So I was starving and I thought to myself “Hm, maybe I should get a lovely take out from McDonalds!” WRONG IDEA. Don't get me wrong, the food is amazing but the takeout service? no. I ordered a 9 Mcnugget meal, no problem with that. When they handed me that bag of gold I felt euphoric. We parked in the car park and i opened up what I thought would be a meal to remember. I took out my fries and my barbecue sauce but there were no mcnuggets to be seen. NONE. I was devastated. No, I WAS DESTROYED. The hanger inside of me began to grow. We drove back into the takeout line and waited until we got to the last window to state what had just happened. We explained the nugget situation and even showed the receipt. After a few moments of convincing that they did in-fact forget my nuggets, the lady asked the cookers or whatever to make me some new ones. We got them and i opened the box, expecting an extra one as an apology. There were 9, the number that I had asked for in the first place. What’s even worse? THEY DIDNT EVEN SAY THEY WERE SORY FOR THEIR MISTAKE. 0/5 for service, this is disgraceful.

Called in for lunch wanted Sauce for my fries they told me there is now A 20p charge for A sachet of sauce this is A joke there not worth that I've decided now to boycott them this is A rip-off been A customer for years

ordered through the app with card payment but it gave me a code and said i had to ask a worker for help, the order went through with the payment but didn’t go through with the food so i asked what to do and the workers said i had to pay again and the previous payment would go back into my account after a few days, the workers were really nice obviously wasn’t their fault but their system in unacceptable. The food was also cold after waiting 10 minutes for two meals

Less waiting time due to young and active staff, hats off for them. Food is tasty as always with McDonald's.

Ordered off of user eats but I opened my burger and it’s a total mess sauce is everywhere there’s that much sauce the wrapper has tore not one bit happy McDonald’s staff need to use the correct amount and not make it like that!!

Need new staff 😂 couldn't believe the way we were spoke to & treated. Bruce if you're reading this "ho ho ho" to you too, the cheek of some people. My burger was wrong, it got tossed jnto the bin and chocolate pies slapped into my hand followed by "ho ho merry Christmas" in a not so friendly way. Then when my burger was brought over to me, the correct one, the attitude we got to the point I had to shout "have a bit of manners". Won't be back lol Also was told these pies were unable to be sold, which I was given 2 :)

Was only a pit stop and I was not in the building but service was fine.

Good classic McDonald's food, make sure to check for dips with meals as you most likely won't have them in the bag unless you ask!

Every time you order food half the order is missing and cold

My 5 year old child was feeling a bit sick and thirsty. The unbelievably unkind manager Sylvia refused to provide the child with a drink of water. She informed me that McDonald's is losing too much money to be able to provide a sick and thirsty child with a drink of water. Utter disgrace.

Terrible staff manager Sylvia, hates children, would rather watch a child suffer than allow them just one sip off water. Food’s ok, but it’ll ruin your health

Took way to long.not a happy person

Called in late on Friday night. Drive through was busy so parked and went inside to order a McCrispy Chicken burger which they have on a limited offer at the moment. Really enjoyed it😀 and will be back for another one😀

Great and ice cream was better than other McDs. Victoria who was working on the floor (she was new) was very friendly and the fella who took our order I forget his name - began with E and he had trainer on his badge was an asset to the restaurant.

Always check your order and what they charge! Every time I go through the drive through they get the order wrong.have been 4 times in the last 4 months all wrong. This last time they overcharged me I paid by card and they didn't give me a receipt. Only when I went to window to collect did I realise they charged me for someone else's order. They gave me cash which wasn't the full amount, couldn't refund to the card without having to get out and go see the manager. When I pointed out they reimbursed (with 42p extra) When the server asked me what did I want I said I wanted the food and an ice cream as a gesture which they did.

Messed up order, things missing and was originally put on a tray despite being marked as for takeaway. Didn't realise what was missing til we got home. Wasn't overly busy at the time so no real excuse.
