Good food at good prices. Lovely staff, would definitely go back.

You get a good meal and the atmosphere is good to karaoke is on through the week in the pub

On the website says take away phoned up and asked if could place an order to pick up boy on the phone said two mins to check with the chef turned round and said no sorry not doing takeaway menu good enough to take your money during Covid now that there busy they can’t be bothered won’t be back near the place

Great restaurant, never had a bad meal & really reasonably priced, Cajun chicken & steak pie is my personal favourites

This is a reach out to the management We come for family lunch fairly frequently with our elderly mum. She does not have a great appetite and we normally order her food from the smaller children’s portions. We came yesterday and the waitress said you had stopped this. Eating out is expensive these days and I hate to waste food. Is it possible you can allow pensioners to choose smaller portions?? You would possibly get another sale from the desert menu Just something to consider as I don’t know of any other restaurants who don’t allow you to cater for small appetites

We took my Mum for Saturday lunch for her 80th birthday and the staff were excellent.

McChristies bar & restaurant great place highly recommended and very good portions my partner and I also my daughter and son were there on Thurs late mothers day dinner we had a fab time great food the lasagne with side portions and the steak pie and side portions 2 which my daughter also had was the fav, my son had the burger and side portions aswell staff very friendly and also excellent service keep up the good work guys in girls.

Just had a horrible experience!!! We have previously visited McChristies on a number of occasions, for meals in the restaurant and drinks in the bar along with meals. They say there family friendly but we've just been told otherwise. We came in today to watch the rugby as we have done in the past, arrived at around 15:30. We were told at 17:00 that we had to leave. Myself, my wife and my 3 year old child had just had chips and we're just deciding on what we could have next as the rugby was about to start. The manager came out of nowhere and asked my wife to leave while I was at the bar. Her words were "this isn't a place for kids with rugby and men about". We were a little caught of guard since we've been here with our little one on many occasions, including rugby, football and live acts at night. All with our daughter, and never ever an issue before. We won't we back and we certainly won't be embarrassed like that again as a a family minding our own business. Not the place for us anymore.

we went for valentine's day dinner. Food was excellent. I was very surprised to see Feather blade steak (a highly under used cut) on the menu, slow braised and unctuous, a wee bit special. Salmon cooked perfectly and fresh local produce used. Attentive staff (thank you 'Ewan'!) and a relaxed vibe. Cocktails were good too!

Came here while visiting family. The staff are not very up to date on allergies or even about what vegan food is! They said a dish was vegan but was made with dairy, so it wasn't suitable for a dairy allergy. They didn't seem to understand that if it was indeed vegan, then it should not be made with any dairy. The starters were really good, but then it went downhill from there. The batter on the fish was soggy. The turkey tasted like water. The kids' meal was a big portion. However, the veg was undercooked, and again, the turkey was flavourless. We also came when the Christmas menu was on and the vegetarian option was very poor. It's ashamed as last time we came it was really good.

Food was brilliant and reasonably priced. Kitchen was a little slow however.

Soup starter was delicious, main dish was a burger not fully satisfied with my tastes however chips and side salad were well presented and tasted delicious. Overall a wonderful place to eat and would visit again trying a different main course next time

Probably just the time of day, 12.30, made the atmosphere a little soul-less. The restaurant was quiet. Food was excellent, staff were attentive, pleasant and helpful.

Glasses were vile, could scrape the scum from the inside with my nails. No tomato sauce in the restaurant said the waiter then later another staff member apologised as she said they did have sauce. Veg was cold.

They say this is wheelchair friendly but I beg to differ. Especially the entrance which has a step down and then another step up to the restaurant. There is a ramp at the fire exit but was refused after we asked to open it to go out for a cigarette. Felt we were rushed with our meal as they were wanting to give us our mains as soon as we had finished our starters . Sorry to say but wont be back in a hurry. Regards Wheelchair user

Excellent food with lots of choice and openly helpful with one of us that wanted to have smaller portions. Atmosphere was very friendly and family orientated. Would definatly dine here again.

Relaxed atmosphere, excellent food. Staff were polite and friendly. When we got the bill we had been overcharged. Before we could say anything the girl came back with the correct receipt. First class.

Meal wasn't great , have fish and chips with mushy peas. Peas were barely warm and fish was really greasy and felt undercooked.

Very friendly and helpful servers. First class vegan choices - defo the best I've ever experienced in Ayrshire. Will defo be going back there again soon.

What a fantastic experience at McChristies...again. never fails to deliver. Family favourite for all occasions. Kids love the black pudding starter and the cajun chicken and steak pie always delicious. Well done guys 🙌

Nice wee place. Not overly expensive. Good pub grub. Not the biggest of portions but not stingy either.

used to go here most Sundays for lunch..however last 2 visits have been very disappointing ...visited in the summer of this year wife ordered pate ..when it came it was on a roasting hot plate which the waitress apologised for and said they had no cold plates..so pate was melting on the plate and the salad was wilting from the heat but didn't anything about cos they said all the plates were warm so anyone ordering a salad that day had to endure the warm plates..then was there again today...had the soup..was very good then the steak pie....well meat was too tough to cut with a knife and pastry was soggy... portion size has got smaller and prices have gone up( not unexpected these days tho) but smaller portions too.?? sorry but won't be back ...almost same price as the millhouse in stewarton where the food is much tastier and still same portion size....no criticism of the staff at mc christies as they were pleasant and friendly...

We've had better... table of 7 booked in, service was slow and there was only a couple of tables in... starters were fine apart from one coming out 5 minutes after the rest.. mains were a disaster. A meal forgotten by the kitchen, eventually came out after everyone had finished there's only for the chicken to be raw... replacement main came out and was completely put off by the first. Deserts came and all bar two were fine, cheesecake still frozen... the issue with main was removed from the bill and a can of juice given. This isn't the usual upbeat service from mccristies, the girl who did the majority of service was friendly and tried her upmost to sort the issues but for a table spending almost £200, we expected better service. We've been here before and usually everything is great but just totally let down on this occasion. Drinks order alone took half an hour for 2 cocktails, water & cans of juice... asked for draught and never to be told it wasn't a thing... we won't be in a great rush to go back...

Was with a party of 11 for a birthday and all food came together and was lovely and staff were great and went above board with the birthday boys pudding. Highly recommended

First time here Absolutely delicious meal , Staff were super attentive, and the resteraunt was clean and beautifully decorated, lovely area outside to eat if you want to. The crusted brie starter with salad oatcakes and a fabulous onion chutney was amazing.

OMG another lovely meal. We went for the turkey last night....delish. we asked why there was no chipolatas and was told when they arrived they were not good enough to serve...just shows the chef takes great pride in their work... Bravo well done.

Have been here numerous times. Food is always lovely and staff are always polite, friendly and very helpful. Very good prices for what you are getting as well. The addition of the outdoor dog friendly seating is an added bonus.
