Food was absolutely delicious very friendly staff and atmosphere ..have been numerous times and alway gets 5 out of 5 for me

Food was delicious. For lunch my 93-year-old mother-in-law, who was brought up in Crossgar but now lives in Belfast, had a club sandwich (loads for one person); my wife had a toasted Ciabatta with avocado and bacon and I had a toastie with bacon, brie and cranberry. All were absolutely delicious. We had lattes which were lovely and also hot (they can be a bit tepid elsewhere). The owner chatted with us for ages as his family had connections with my mother-in-law going back 90-odd years! At just under £30, it was reasonable value. We'll definitely be back!

McCarthy's is well worth a visit. It's spotless,bright and airy and comfortable with some seats outside too. There was room for a Mum to manoeuvre a baby buggy. Menu is lovely and plenty of choices. They also cater well for special diets and are willing to change items to suit if necessary. We had breakfast and the orange juice was freshly squeezed, items cooked beautifully and well presented. The baked goodies are delicious and the salads looked fresh and lovely. Prices are reasonable and it very good value. I highly recommend it, it's the best spot for brekkie, lunch or just a coffee in the area.

My wife and I visited at lunchtime on the first Saturday in December The owner and all the staff were absolutely amazing This is a very busy little restaurant and it soon became apparent why The sandwiches, wraps and soup are among the best, if not thee best I have ever tasted And extremely reasonably priced Highly recommended Go —— I’ll definitely be back

Called here on the way back from a visit to Downpatrick. It was very busy with all tables taken but the lovely waitress suggested we take a seat at one of the outside tables and peruse the menu as she was sure a table Would come free shortly. As it was a lovely day we were happy to do just that. Very soon a table inside became available and we moved inside. we both ordered the club sandwich which was huge and came with crisps. Neither of us could finish ours because they were so substantial but they were delicious. The owner ( I think ) kindly packed our remaining sandwiches for us to take home and suggested the next time we came to order one sandwich between the two of us. The food was great, the staff were great and the prices were great too. We will definitely call in again when we are next in the area.

we visited McCarthys during the week It was excellent we got a table outside and were given menus by the owner Michael McCarthy who was so friendly and welcoming The waitress who was also friendly and very efficient took our orders opted for the sweet chilli chicken salad my wife had the Taco Salad and a strawberry smoothie on recommendation from waitress. The Salads were both lovely mine possibly one of the nicest salads I have had. I managed the Carrot Cake it was delicious with a cappuccino my wife had a flat white We will definitely be back Thanks very much for a beautiful lunch and friendly efficient service Visit it you will not be disappointed

Called in for lunch. Shown to a table and given the menu. The order was taken and came very quickly. Ordered a chicken panini which came as ordered and very hot. Have to say the chicken remained hot whilst eating unlike some. Well presented and tasty enough.

I popped in for lunch during the week and the service was really fast! Very busy yet still efficient. The food was also well priced and lovely.

Excellent spot to take out or eat in. They have a great sandwich bar selection and great service in this family run business. It can be pretty packed at peak times but definitely worth it.

Cannot beat McCarthys, whether its breakfast, brunch or lunch it is my favourite spot offering a wide variety to choose from. If you’ve not been you are most definitely missing out!

First time in the new premises. Very impressed with the decor. I had the homemade mushroom soup which was tasty and substantial. It was served with lovely wheaten bread. My friend had the onion bread filled with cheese, bacon and lettuce. She loved it. Service was friendly, speedy and efficient. Will definitely be back.

Call in last Wednesday for lunch and was recommended the McCarthys Club, best sandwich you’ll ever try was the recommendation from our server.....he wasn’t wrong to be fair. The food was so fresh and the flavours were amazing. This was the first time I had the chance to eat in the new premises, it most certainly will not be the last. Keep up the great work

Our visit to Co. Down never complete without a visit to McCarthy's. The welcome is wonderful. A beautiful new coffee shop this year! Everything is perfect coffee, milkshakes, cakes, scones and much more on the menu. Look forward to next year.

Called in for an early lunch, a very busy place, which can't be a bad thing. Great choice of food, friendly attentive staff and great coffee. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Absolutely beautiful place. Think the main man who owns it a complete gentleman. so down to earth, friendly and extremely helpful. All the staff and I mean all them were friendly and helpful. The food was oh my god amazing. I got the warm Cesar salad and oh my god ill be dreaming of it tonight. my friend had spicy tuna melt and really enjoyed it. our kids had toast and one had ham and cheese toastie. I just want to add that the toast was done to perfection for a baby of 10 months and again for my 2 year old the ham and cheese toastie was perfect.couldn't rate this place higher enough. so glad to see this place buzzing on a hot summer's day as the owner deserves the custom. gentleman so cheap too only 19 pound something for all that 2 adult drinks and a fruit shoot. looking forward to going back. ps they need another tips jar at other till haha

Gorgeous lunch, soup, tray bakes and coffee. Had lunch today with my family , couldn’t fault anything . Service, quality of food and variety of menu was second to none . Couldn’t recommend it enough, will definitely be back

McCarthys deliver lovely food and while the menu is most if what you expect as standard fare for a small cafè, the quality is superb. Staff are warm and friendly and often take time for a chat. Prices are very reasonable abd overall its a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Wishing them all luck as they move to nearby new premises.

An excellent place for breakfast, lunch or a relaxing coffee. A great range of milk shakes for the kids (and adults!). Scones go down a treat and staff are very friendly.

Always love stopping in McCarthy's for a sandwich at lunchtime. Top quality food served up by a fantastic local family. Couldnt recommend enough, a must have in the Co Down area!

Think I love this place. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Manage to make the wait very quick despite it being so busy over lunch time. Food is really fresh and the prices are great for what you are getting. I didnt get a chance to try one of their smoothie so I will be back!

Lovely bright clean place with ultra fresh salads and sandwiches made to order, sit in or take away. Staff are very friendly and accomadating. I cooler months thay do stews and hearty soups. Highly recommended

What a great place. The food is fresh, the staff are excellent because everyone really cares about you. It is a family run business, and you can tell it's their passion. We eat there at least once a week and have never been disappointed. They also do local catering which is well organised. Call in for a Matthew Algie coffee, or one of their specialised milk shakes; great sandwiches, paninis and a Sunday morning fry that is well presented and really tasty. A great addition to the local community.

Highly recommend McCarthy's has a great selection of Sandwiches made specifically to suit every taste. Their soups and stews are very good. Have a great range of milkshakes and tray bakes. Great atmosphere and very friendly service, nothing is a bother to them. Great value and spotlessly clean.

McCarthy's do delicious milkshakes made from any chocolate bar you choose! My favourite it Oreo! The sandwiches and salad boxes are great too and really fresh. They do all different kinds of breads and soups.I normally just get a takeaway but you can sit in too and it's really bright and cheery!

Great cafe in crossgar, family fun and very friendly. They just cannot do enough. the breakfasts and lunches are freshly prepared and the soups change daily and there is an excellent selecetion of coffees and milkshakes available. The cafe offers both a sit in or carry out option. If its healthly or naughty you are looking for or a combination of the two then this is the Cafe to try!! Enjoy! I know I do!!
