Maysam Restaurant in Hackney

We’ve ordered takeaway from here quite a few times and it’s always been delicious. The food is authentic and tastes just like a home cooked meal. We usually order one of the sharing platters and everything in there is fantastic. The okra stew is particularly delicious. I’ve never actually eaten in the restaurant but I’ve been in there a few times to pick up food. It’s well decorated and the staff are warm and welcoming. One of my favourite places in Wigan, highly recommended.

The best restaurant me and my partner have visited- we went in February 2022 and had the best experience! The food is high quality and served in generous portions too. The owner and all staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Service is 5 stars and so is the food. If you enjoy North African/Middle Eastern food or food with good spices and flavours then this is a place you will most likely enjoy.

Please do not try this place it's absolutely terrible, never in my life have I had such disgusting food! The menu we was given was not the one shown online, the names of the dishes we couldn't understand and no explanation of what ingredients was in each dish, the food which should be hot was cold and we was told well we can warm it for you in the microwave! The lamb chops were well overcooked and you couldn't even cut or bite them, they had been incinerated! The koftas were cold and absolutely tasteless!

Absolute disgrace! Sat us on a table in the middle of the room, the tables was that close together I was asked to stand up every time the couple next to us ordered something. We politely asked if we could move table considering the restaurant was empty except us, one other couple and a large table we was told they was fully booked and they just shrugged their shoulders at us. We ended up leaving the restaurant before even ordering. This was my first night/ meal out since having a baby and was completely ruined due to their incompetency and lack of organisation. Would not recommend this place if it was the last place on earth due to the lack of customer service! A apology would of done at least not absolutely nothing they don’t deserve custom. Would rate this a zero if possible.
