Massilia Bay in Wealden

Really love this place. It’s our second time visiting and we plan on coming again. This time for Valentine’s Day, the menu was set so we had to choose between things we wouldn’t normally order. Which was lovely trying new things, but this was a bit pricey compared to what we had planned. The atmosphere and hospitality is always amazing, willing to go the extra mile and very attentive.

We had a fantastic evening at this restaurant on Saturday night! When we arrived, there was a pianist playing the piano and I was quite apprehensive that the children might be too noisy for what seemed a small, cosy and intimate setting. However, I was blown away with how great the staff were with the children, which put me at ease! We ordered 3 Pepperoni Pizzas from the kids menu, which came with a scoop of Icecream after, that the kids got to go up and choose themselves. The pizza was large and freshly made, the kids loved them and they were all full up. I ordered the seafood linguine! It was so good, filled with lots of musself, clams, calamari and prawns! My only criticism is that I prefer the sauce a bit thicker but apart from that it was perfect and yummy. My friend ordered the tapas as there was a deal on ordering 3 items off the tapas menu. Not sure if the tapas is a regular item on the menu? But that was delicious, especially the chicken wings. Overall, it was a brilliant night, never even knew it was there as its a bit off the road. Will definitely going back there, the next time I'm in the area! Sorry about the picture, I took it from the video I made with the kids.

I booked a table of 8 for my wife’s 40th birthday and we had a fantastic evening. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming and gave us great service all evening. Everyone in our party really enjoyed their food and said they will definitely come back again. Thank you to all the staff for making my wife’s birthday meal such a lovely experience.

me and my partner came to Massillia Bay this evening,had a two course meal we thoroughly enjoyed every last bite! the service was wonderful we had a bubble young girl and very exciting woman serving us. we could have a laugh and a joke with them which helped us feel comfortable and enjoy every moment would highly recommend!

Massilia Bay is a lovely restaurant in Pevensey Bay. We went there for food and drinks. The food was delicious and cooked really well! The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely for a nice evening out or even for a coffee. I would highly recommend for a relaxing and comfortable experience. Adriana was wonderful and very welcoming and friendly. We would definitely recommend and would definitely be coming back! Thank you

Visited on a Friday and loved the Fish Friday menu. My friends are from the main menu. Everything was superb. Staff are lovely and the food is excellent value. Can thoroughly recommend.

Massilia Bay markets itself as Mediterranean (Italian/French) But we arrived on a Sunday late afternoon and had the most wonderful Sunday Roast. Slow cooked topside of beef with all the trimmings. I think this restaurant basically turns its hand to most dishes and absolutely smashes it. Our Venezuelan waitress was just wonderful. Ended with some home made Limoncello on the house after the meal. Will definitely come back when we return to Pevensey Bay.

This is such a lovely hidden gem! The decor created such a nice atmosphere inside, the food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were all so friendly. It was a shame however that two parents allowed their children to shout, scream, and run around the restaurant for the entirety of our meal which left us all with headaches. I understand this is a difficult situation for restaurant staff but I think a polite word could be had with parents of misbehaving children to enforce appropriate behaviour or to leave, as it was entirely unfair on other patrons.

We had an amazing meal last night….the night theme was tapas and was enjoyed by all of us. Thank u Massilia bay for another spoil. And thank u Julie for the fab service 🩷

Delicious Roast turkey with all the trimmings

We went twice to eat pizza and I would repeat it again and again.

Organised a lunch party for 35 people 2/3 courses, various dietary requirements. It was excellent. The food was delicious and delightful, as was the service. Lots of compliments from the attendees. We are very satisfied. Thank you.

Massilia bay is a little gemi n pevensey, a great diversified menu, attention to service. Plates are huge and so tasty, i am a regular customer and want to invite other people from eastbourne to try it they wont be disappointed.

Once again, Masillia Bay did not disappoint ! Myself and two Girlfriends went for Sunday Lunch. It was amazing. I had the Porchetta, my favourite, one had Lamb and the other the Steak. Sooo tasty and not skimpy on the portions ! All the potatoes and veg and gravy were perfect. Such a lovely atmosphere, fab service and they genuinely make you feel right at home ! My two friends each had a crepe with sugar and lemon for dessert and they were delicious. Will be back with my Husband to this absolute gem again.

Had such a lovely evening, all staff were amazing couldn't do enough. Pizza was delicious 😋. Our taxi cancelled on us last minute but straight away we were offered a lift back! Thanks for a fab evening from 6 of us and 2 dogs. Just to top off really enjoyed the homemade tipple! ❤️

Only popped in for a drink. We had the dog with us but they had a dog friendly area for eating and drinking. Oue dog was offered his own bowl of clean water. The menu looks fantastic and tonight's special looks a great deal.

Went for dinner here with my son on a Sunday he had a homemade peperoni pizza that is cooked in a proper pizza oven and he loved it said best pizza he ever ate. I had the roast and it was divine roast beef was juicy and tender potato's crispy and soft inside the red cabbage omg you have to try and the gravy is so tasty best I've had the staff was very friendly and checked everything was OK will definitely be back soon about time eastbourne had a place that sells a tasty roast dinner

First visit to Massilia. So pleased to see a vibrant, friendly restaurant after the original site was empty for years. The staff are excellent and if not sure, would find out for you. The food was outstanding and portion size is very generous. The Tia Maria coffee, made by Adriana, was a highlight. We will definitely return to Massilia and next time with the whole . Lovely, peaceful vibe on a Sunday afternoon.

The most amazing food that we have had in a long time. This restaurant exceeded all of our expectations. Definitely the best mussels I have ever had and the pizza was fantastic as well. The atmosphere inside was outstanding, a real feeling of being on the Mediterranean. The staff were friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend to anyone staying or living in Pevensey Bay. Thanks to all for a wonderful dining experience. We will definitely be returning in December for the Christmas Menu. We do live 40 miles away, however it will be worth the journey.

Wow what a fantastic little spot. We stumbled across this restaurant after a visit to the beach with our 2 young children. To be honest we weren't expecting much, we appreciated it was a quiet day visiting some where that isn't overly touristy but we were astonished at the quality of the food! It was delicious. My 5 year old confidently stated it was "the Best Pizza she's ever had". The staff were so attentive and friendly. I can't thank them enough for a lovely, relaxing meal. We will 100% be back in the future.

I came over from London to visit family, and the flavours of all the dishes were great, loved the Chorizo flatbread and the Pork belly 😋

Had dinner at the Massilia Bay, a pizza and a shrimp and lobster bisque (with aioli and bread) and both were excellent. Just a 20 minutes walk from the campsite nearby.

Pizza average, to say the least. Pulled lamb, great reviews. It was fatty with tubes, left more than half the dinner, cold tinned tomatoes, which was strange. Took plate away without asking why? Staff not interested, place almost empty on a Saturday night in July. Not surprised.

We stopped for sustenance mid bike ride and loved Massilia Bay. Opted for the specials - Beef Carpaccio as a starter followed by Red Mullet Two Ways (Pan-Fried on top of Tomato-y Potatoes, and Cerviche-style). We felt compelled to seek extra olive bread for mopping up the delicious juices.

A very lovely restaurant indeed! Because of one of my friend's recomendation, i tried it one time, and everything went perfect! I realy dont have anything negative to say, the ambiente was impeccable, the service was fast, it had very polite waiters and the menu's variety was preaty good either. I realy recomend going to it in the afternoon or after work, the sunset together with with the beach realy make the place.

massilia bay offers fantastic roast dinners, chicken, pork, turkey and lamb. All were fantastic. we went for father’s day and the atmosphere was amazing. lovely music in the background. amazing service! we will be back.

Recommended to us by friends and it did not disappoint. Great food - well worth visiting for anyone in the area (we drove 25 mins to get there). Friendly owners and welcoming staff. The fried squid, bouillabaisse and pizzas were delicious. Easy parking too.

We were excited to try the roast dinner, which was a trial. Unfortunately, the experience wasn't great. We had prebooked our meal so running out of items for a prebooked meal is not a good enough excuse. The food was warm, was missing the honey roast vegetables (some replaced with boiled carrots), and Yorkshires were burnt/overdone. Pork belly was not crispy, more soggy fatty with a couple of mouthfuls of meat. Unfortunately, it is not a great impression for most of us for both the restaurant or the roast dinner trial. Waitresses were getting complaints with no managers/chefs coming over to discuss the feedback. Also, seeing a chef eating whilst cooking is quite off-putting and, I'm my opinion, not professional. It's a shame as they look to be good at the main food they do, but the bad first impression has now been made.

Came to Massilia Bay for a pizza night. It was 2 for 1 on Pizza’s, Pizza’s were exceptional, great quality, Aioli is to die for!! Staff are so friendly, really proactive and check in regularly to make sure you are ok! Greg the owner is so welcoming and Adriana is brilliant at her job and makes you feel so welcome! They can’t do enough for you! We will definitely be back!!

Perfect restaurant , love the atmosphere , SUPER DOG FRIENDLY, they even offered my dog some food , super kind waitresses , food was on another level , Even Gordon would be shocked, GO ESPECIALLY ON WEDENSDAY YOU GET 2 FOR 1 DEAL ON PIZZA. But overall , super kind and helpful , dogfriendly , big portions.

I’m VERY impressed with the quality of food! So fresh, decent portions, simply yummy! The staff was so welcoming and friendly. Dogs are alliwed in - this place ticks all the boxes for me!

Hidden gem in Pevensey Bay, great food lovely pizza

After a long walk on the beach and then towards Pevensey castle my wife and I ended up here, which is very close (stones throw from the beach) and had a great pizza and garlic bread for lunch. Lovely Mediterranean vibes. An absolute hidden gem. Talked to the lovely and helpful owner who said the dough was freshly made that day, which you could definitely taste. Will definitely be back and try some of their seafood/pasta and dessert options.

We were staying in the area and wanted something different to eat so we went to Massilia Bay. We had pizza for lunch one day and I had the Bouillabaisse the next day. Both amazing. I would recommend this restaurant.

Wow, what a fabulous surprise. The photos on their website really don’t do this cozy eatery the full justice. Ambient, attentive, atmospheric, A class - and then there’s Adrianna. What an exceptionally professional, engaging and personable lady with amazing “juggling” skills. She’ll laugh when she sees this 🍾 The concise but varied menu gave us a difficult choice to make for dinner. Plumped for the snails (the correct cutlery as well) and, as it was 2-4-1 Pizza Wednesday, we had a pizza a piece, with our uneaten slices being taken home by two very full and satisfied customers. We’re defo coming back. Oh, and the complimentary Limoncello was a bonus. Petra and Steve

Visited last Friday with the Mrs and had a lovely evening. Decor is very warm and nostalgic of my trips to France. The food was also excellent, we had a mixture of starters and mains. The lamb dish was superb couldn't of done better myself. Being a chef I often come away dissatisfied but not here. We also enjoyed the cocktails. Overall a great evening and am sure this place will be the hotspot in pevensey during the summer.

We were a little disappointed after hearing good reviews from friends. Service was very welcoming, however it took over 2 hours for us to have a starter and main course, despite the restaurant seeming quiet at the time. When the food arrived it was satisfactory, but somewhat lacking in presentation and we would have preferred a greater quantity; we left slightly hungry despite having a starter and main, which came to around £50 for two people plus £30 for drinks. A friend of ours had the pizza which looked good, and we would come again if it was just for pizza, but not for a special occasion or the set menu.

We loved Massilia! Delicious food and fantastic service. Would highly recommend the french fish pie. We will definitely be back!

What a treat on mothers' day to discover this little gem! Delicious food, first class service and a nice ambience. Would recommend two things in particular, the fish soup was amazing and the pasta dish cooked to perfection. Can't wait to go back!

What an absolute gem of a restaurant! Went for my husband’s birthday, each had a starter and main, and shared the BEST crepe for pudding. Walked in having booked and Adriana wished my husband happy birthday the moment we entered. She made it extra special bringing over lemon cello for us after dessert and snapping our photo with their Polaroid. Absolutely delicious, brilliant service, and insanely good prices (less than £50 for all the food, including fish specials), we will be back very soon!!

A great location near the beach at Pevensey Bay. The staff are very welcoming and the food was good, the pizzas in particular look amazing. It was quite busy for the time of year so has obviously become a popular restaurant for locals.

We visited as a family of 10, plus a dog. There was a great atmosphere and we were made to feel especially welcome by all of the staff. The food was superb (with dietary requirements catered for) and all drinks, including cocktails enjoyed too. Small touches like a bowl of water for the dog and dog ice cream were very much appreciated. All of us enjoyed our evening and would highly recommend a visit!

We popped in to Massilia Bay for a quick drink one evening and were made so welcome by Adriana and the team that we went back the following evening for dinner. We are so glad we did. The menu is varied and delicious with cheery and professional service making it a lovely evening, and the table of six people who were sat behind us fully agreed with our views. We thoroughly recommend this venue for couples or larger groups - if you are in or around Pevensey it would be a shame to miss out. We’ve been meaning to try Massilia Bay for a while and we’re looking forward to it but unfortunately we won’t be returning. The service was extremely slow, despite pre-ordering. We had to ask for the table to be cleaned. Our table wasn’t in the restaurant… which seemed very odd. In hindsight we should have asked to move. Food was okay but nothing special. The young lady serving was very nice and polite. Such a shame… simple things like a clean table, a table under the pretty lights and a quicker service could have made the whole experience more positive.
