The food, drink and service are all top notch at Masons. Fresh homemade food, served with a smile. A Saturday morning bacon barm has become a staple but this week I battled with the immense breakfast barm!! (I lost by 1/4 😂) Update - Full English is also an absolute winner

Saturday 6th of July I used this lovely cafe in the Chorley market. There was a friendly ambuance inside this place and eating area opposite the serving counter. The staff were well organised and polite. The eating area was spacious and had a good local following today. The food was well cooked and prepared, see pictures. There was a good signage of prices of drinks and food and their costs. For 9.75 I had a large hot drink and a large breakfast. I would strongly advise people when in Chorley to use this place

Do not get the apple pie and custard unless you like it very watery and no taste, the custard is just water so not a good combination,

I have read one review on here and I would like to point out that the reviewer has the wrong café. Mason's cafe is not next door to Charlie's chippy.. That is on the other side of the Market. Mason's is between the butcher's stall and the chiropodist. I am a regular customer to Mason's because the food is good , the prices are reasonable, the management and staff are courteous and tables get cleaned almost on customers departure.

We was not happy with the lady in the kitchen coughing and coughing no covering her mouth over or washing her hands. It put us off our food and we won't be coming back

We visited the Birkacre Garden Centre Restaurant for a full English breakfast, expecting hearty food to match the cosy surroundings. What we got instead was... let’s just say “unique.” Let’s start with the baked beans. Cold. Not lukewarm, not room temperature—cold. The chef’s attempt at gourmet fridge-to-table dining, perhaps? And while we’re on the topic of missing the mark, the breakfast itself seemed to be playing hide-and-seek with some of the advertised items from the menu. Was it sausage roulette day, or had my toast just gone on strike? The waiting staff were friendly enough, but there was a noticeable lack of initiative when it came to drinks. A simple “Would you like another coffee?” might have gone a long way. Instead, we sat with dry throats and growing doubts about whether anyone actually wanted us to enjoy the experience. On the plus side, the garden centre itself is lovely, so you could probably console yourself with a plant or two after your disappointing breakfast. Just don’t expect the food to fuel your green-fingered adventures. Will we be back? Not for the breakfast, unless the chef and the beans can reach a truce.

Ordered a takeaway from here this evening on my son's recommendation, as he is a more regular customer. Between four of us we had Mixed starter for two, King Prawn Fried Rice, Vegetable Curry, Sweet & Sour, Chow Mein and Chips. All of the food was delicious. Well cooked, freshly prepared and tasty. Staff were friendly and efficient. Due to the location this takeaway doesn't get the recognition it deserves and not many people know this takeaway is in this location. If I were to say anything about the place, it would be that the waiting area had no heating and being winter, it is COLD ! The second is that there is no debit card machine. It is CASH ONLY or there is an option to pay by BANK TRANSFER before leaving with your order. I would order from here again and RECOMMEND to others to give them a try.
