Masala Restaurant in Carmarthenshire

My order was an hour late and needed to be reheated. I also found a very long strand of hair in my food which meant it was unsafe to eat and had to throw it away. They also forgot an item of my order. Very disappointed as we have ordered before and had no problems, but now will not be ordering from here again.

Food was ten minutes late for collection and there was no front of house service. I had to go into the kitchen to let them know I was there and the poor chef looked confused as to why I was bothering them in the kitchen which is understandable. He probably expected front of house to help but there was no one there. Shashlik was overcooked, very black and burnt. It had one little slice of green pepper and one lonely small cap mushroom. The tomato in it was black as it was so burnt. The chips were not fresh. The saag was ok. I've had worse but nowhere near the usual standard of curry I expect. Vegetable rice was decent. I was a new customer and thought I'd give this place a go as mixed reviews. I can see why people complain about the service and the food just didn't amaze me enough to go back.

We have not eaten in Masala since before Covid, but had a few takeaways. We pre-booked the night before, but when we arrived we were the only ones in the restaurant (which was the case for the whole meal). They no longer server alcohol, so its soft drinks only. Likewise they only accept cash in the restaurant (if you order online for delivery / collection you can pay when you do the order on the site via debit card). Food came quickly, was piping hot and the quality of food was excellent. For two curries, rice, chips, naan bread, few poppadom's, and two J20s came to just over £35, which is relatively reasonable for the size and quality of food. I always recommend Masala to any friends / family if they are looking for an Indian within the Llanelli, however the lack of card payment is a little fustrating as you need to ensure you have enough cash on you before visiting.

Booked a table in the evening. Got there and they said the restaurant was closed and we will have to go back another time. Would've been nice to have a phone call making us aware it was closed before travelling there!

Take away. Told be ready in 25 minutes. Left it 35 minutes. Waited for over an hour for food. Awful service.

Iv eaten alot of Indian meals in my day, And iv had some pretty bad one's. This however is the worst iv ever eaten. Without question the driest most tasteless chicken iv ever put in my mouth. Nann burt and rock solid round the edge. Chips tasted like they just been wormed up in a microwave. Everything about this meal was bad. 90% Ended up in the bin. Unbelievably poor. I can't recommend this place to anybody. Try somewhere different, baleve me you can't get any worse 😵‍💫

Absolutely LOVED the lamb chops and already craving more! The prawn puri is a must, especially with the spring onion naan 🤤

Ordered food 5 for 7 30 comes 8 o clock and it was that bad my dogs wouldn't even eat it comple waste of money never again reheated about 6 times just to make sure they had the rubber taste just right

Ate here as a family of 4 on a Saturday evening. We all enjoyed the food and thought it was good value. The owner was friendly & helpful. Contrary to some other reviews, we were able to pay by card. The restaurant was empty but it was early evening - the takeaway side of things did seem busy though.

Ordered a takeaway for delivery. This would have been 5 stars on the food if it hadn’t been for the person at the other end of the phone. Our starter was missing, we rung them and he essentially said we were lying. If I was going to lie, why would I lie about 1 single starter !! I don’t like being called dishonest, I won’t order from here again.

we have been here several times and the food has always been good and the price. Recently we went again 6 of us and we were charged £40 more than the menu price. when we queried this we were told the prices on the menu were out of date, and we need to pay up, we wont be going there again, very disappointed with them.

Excellent dine in experience. We really enjoyed our tailored meal. I recommend trying the special chicken chat / lamb tikka starter (not on menu). Butter chicken/ makhani ask for it to be slightly spiced and garlic cheese nan.

Ordered online at 6pm on a Saturday evening, was advised it would be delivered in half an hour. 1 hour later called to check on the progress to be told it would be at least half an hour again as they were waiting for the delivery driver. Said I would collect instead. Called to collect, demanded a refund of the delivery cost,and still waited half an hour for food. So finally sat down with food at about 7.45pm. Almost 2 hours after ordering! To top it off, food was overcooked, somewhat tasteless and the chips had definitely been reheated. Had many meals here in past, but no more. Was only 1 table in the restaurant too so weren't even busy. Absolutely terrible, avoid at all costs. Plenty of much nicer take aways in town.

Ordered a delivery for Sunday evening ..supposed to have been 45 mins...after a hour and a half still no food...after a telephone call they said it was out for delivery....which it was not.....food turned up after a 2 and a half wait....only for my chicken tikka to be rock hard and over cooked...my chips luke warm and hard and no salad ....think they forgot about us and then just chucked food out at us no love and attention put into it....had deliveries from them for years but sadly not Any more....

Me and my family placed a order for a delivery 2 and half hours we were waiting. My partner and son eventually went to the restaurant to collect the food, when doing so the delivery arrived at the door . In this 2 and half hour window of waiting we contacted the restaurant 3 times and we’re told it would be 5-10 minutes again and again, then put the phone down. Absolute nonsense of course because it was 2 and half hours for 4 curry’s , chips and a rice. I will NEVER order from this place again, and advise anybody not to do so…. Be quicker making my own Curry , rice and chips for 47 quid…..

First time we ordered food from here and took 2 and half hours to get here, when we went to the restaurant to talk the the manager it was completely dead there and the staff just walked off, we had no phone calls to let us know it was running late or nothings ,we tried to phone but when they answer they hung up straight away. Never in my life will I order food from there again!!

Amazing, our go to Indian in town. Good prices, friendly staff and service is quick. Our boy had an amazing time there, trying all sorts of dishes and loving them all.

A group of 20+ went for the Sunday Buffet. Problems 1. No Cards only Cash. 2 No Alcohol at all Don’t have a license. 3 Freezing Cold sat with my coat on 4 Food not hot. 5.Not even able to have a Jug of water. Only bottled water.

Had a bit of a bad experience. Had it 2 hours after I ordered. The curry and everything was cold. Had to reheat it and didn't taste that great. I ordered one papadam and had half of one crumbled up into tiny pieces. I recommend making your own or different place. Not a good way to have Saturday night in.

We called in last night and had an amazing meal. Excellent presentation and the flavours of each dish were heavenly. In addition the service was wonderful....looking forward to the next visit

Delivery service was great - on time and food was hot. Decided that food was good so ordered again whilst staying in Llanelli. Portions were of good size and tasty.

Ordered a takeaway from Masala via Uber eats and I've got to say it was one of the worst takeaways I've ever had, so bad we actually binned it. Ordered a chicken korma, chicken biryani and chips. The rice was actually crispy, like when you overheat it in the microwave The chips were cold and stale. So disappointed. The one star was given for the delivery driver as he was polite and punctual. I'd never order from Masala again nor would I recommend them.

Just had a very beautiful meal tastes really lovely. Well presented food and cooked to order fresh. Portion sizes good and presention nice. Wonderful service and reasonable priced will be going again soon.

Had a takeaway which included 2 curries,the chicken was awesome,very tender,onion bhajees were tasty,a bit more expensive than our normal haunt, but you pay for quality.I shall be returning, thankyou 😀😀

By far the best Indian restaurant in Llanelli. Never had a bad meal from here be it a takeaway or a sit down meal.

Order on just eat and waited over 2hrs 30mins for the meal, after ringing the establishment there was no explanation to why.. just the driver was on their way, i will never give these customer ever again.

Just great indian food & not at all pricey. Many dishes i've not see on any other Indian i've ever visited. 3 starters, 2 beers, a bottle water, 1 coffee, 2 mains , 3 sides, 2 naans & 4 poppadums came in at a marvelously pleasing £55. It's friendly, warm & comfortable, unhurried service but good service. If you're in Llanelli do go & eat there. It's not town central but not a long walk out yet definitely worth it. I arranged a fundraising event at Masala for a local Scout Group and we were not disappointed. The food and service was fantastic and we got to fundraise quite a lot of money. Also, Masala very kindly donated a raffle prize for our raffle.

We walked out of this restaurant last night as floor was covered in crumbs, dirty tables with old crockery and glasses not cleared. The man in charge could not care less and showed us a table and left. Buffet food was plentiful but none of the dishes had lids and people coughing all over.

This place is absolutely disgusting! We went there yesterday evening for a family birthday (all you can eat), food rating is a 1! They tried charging us for an extra person and to top it all off over 5 of the family members including 2 children are very I'll, due to there appauling standers!

Have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I organised a charity curry night at Masala and the food was absolutely outstanding! Highly recommend it. It is a little chilly in there but once it filled up it warmed up.

Lovely food, I only ever come here for the Sunday buffet service and is always great. My only criticisms are that it's not wheelchair friendly and the soft drinks come from a plastic bottle meaning they are ALWAYS flat after the bottle being opened the night before etc. I'LL PAY MORE FOR CANS OR GLASS BOTTLE COKE - Please just give me the option to!
