Mario's restaurant Swindon is a lovely Italian in the heart of old town Swindon. filled with lots of character is a lovely warm vibe. the owner is a lovely kind man who was very accommodating from the moment of making the booking right until the event was finished. he messaged a week before for our pre order as was for a larger group of 15. i told him about the table i wanted and due to having a wheelchair with us he suggested another table which was perfect. as soon as i arrived on the day the table had been set for me with flowers and birthday banners. the waitress was lovely and accommodating whenever we needed anything. the food was all really lovely i highly recommend there spaghetti bolognaise. the brought us out some shots of lemon cello which was lovely. and at the end they brought they cake out for us and sung happy birthday. they gave my sister a lovely 29th birthday that we will never forget and i am really grateful. the atmosphere and ambience is unmatched.

We spontaneously decided to pop out for dinner on a Thursday night. We’re new to town but had heard Mario’s was good so we went along to try. The atmosphere and staff were warm and friendly, the food was excellent and the building itself provided quite the talking point. We both had a pizza each, and they were fantastic. Generously topped and perfectly cooked. We will definitely go back to try more of the menu! 😋 🍕

In Swindon for work and someone who lives here recommended Mario's. Turned up about 8.30pm without a booking and were welcomed with open arms by Zeus. Atmosphere was great and the restaurant is so beautiful. Me and a colleague ordered a bottle of wine and had a little chat while browsing the menu. Lisa came over to take our order and was kind and friendly. Food was fabulous! One of the best risottos I've ever had. We soon realised we were the last in the restaurant but we weren't rushed. Thank you Mario's for a lovely evening and lovely authentic Italian food.

Me and my wife visited Mario’s in may 2024. Everything was 10/10 from being greeted to leaving. Service was attentive and swift. Menu has an amazing selection of authentic Italian food. So much so that I changed my mind several times before ordering. We chose fungi and pate to start then pollo al caccitatora and tagliatelle norcina with a cheesy garlic bread. All were amazing. Paired with a great bottom of Italian wine. Great value too. You don’t find many great Italian restaurants doing it the right way but we found one here. Will defiantly be back. Thank you.

The food was excellent but what makes Marios stand out above the rest by miles is the genuine and outstanding friendliness of the staff and the owner. It is so rare to find such warmth from fellow people in this day and age. So, well done to everyone at Marios. If you want to enjoy super food in a relaxing friendly atmosphere you need to look no further. We shall return!

We popped in for a glass of wine and bowl of pasta on a quiet lunchtime. The host couldn’t have been more accommodating. Plus the food and wine were both very good. Beware - you need to go through the alleyway at the side of the building to reach Mario - the place at the front (that also advertises pizza etc) is completely separate.

We booked Mario’s for my Dads 80th birthday this week and we had a wonderful time. A real trip down memory lane for our family and many of the guests! Booked a family meal for a special 60th meal. When we arrived, we found the staff had put up some banners and balloons for the occasion without us even requesting it- very thoughtful. Service was really welcoming, warm and efficient. Great meal, thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family from young to old (60!).

Fantastic steak, cooked perfectly, veg crisp and sweet, sauce exceptional. Not had a bad experience here for years, great atmosphere, friendly staff and accommodating owner. Definitely worth a visit at any time of day.

Went to Mario’s tonight for date night. The staff were absolutely fantastic, super friendly and very efficient. The tables are surprisingly spacious for a restaurant and if you’re feeling a bit squished the lovely staff will move the table out without you even having to ask!! The steak and carbonara were to die for and it was the nicest limoncello I’ve ever had. Would 100% recommend for family or date nights but would say wait until 7+ for the perfect romantic setting. Definitely try the chianti if you can it was so smooth and complimented the steak perfectly

I haven't been to this restaurant for many years but plan to go again soon. My friend and I had a really nice lunch last Friday. The food was good and the service excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming. A pleasant experience overall.

Such a lush evening! We spent the evening at Mario’s on my mums 70th birthday for her celebration and it was brilliant! Such a lovely atmosphere and so welcoming and they made my mum feel very special, the food was excellent and everyone really enjoyed the evening, thanks for a great evening, we will be back!!

On visiting Swindon for the eve we were looking for something authentic with good food and a great atmosphere. Well this is exactly what we found and more. The restaurant is beautiful - stone walls and private little cubby holes create a really nice dining experience. The restaurant was packed within half an hour of sitting down with a great atmosphere. The food was fabulous, they have a very varied authentic Italian menu, it comes out hot and very tasty! Couldn't fault it what do ever. Absolute lovely. The service was excellent. Zeus the owner personally greeted every guest and spent time around the tables, made us feel so welcome, we left feeling so well looked after. Gemma are waitress was so attentive and made us feel so comfortable. We love this place - a real hidden gem. We can't wait to come back again.. and again... and again!!! Go!!

We found it for a midweek lunchtime with our baby and toddler. They had a lunch menu which is great value for money. They couldn’t have been more accommodating with the children (a table with space, our toddler asked for a milk so they made him one, they also gave us a little plate of cut up veg for our baby). We had spaghetti and meatballs, carbonara and garlic bread. It was all lovely. And then the bill (including drinks) was less for our family of four than some places are for one. Will go again and recommend for families for lunch!

We had a lovely evening visiting Mario's. The atmosphere was warm and intimate, and the food was excellent. We had a fantastic dinner! My wife and I came for Valentine’s Day and were treated very well by all the staff. The drinks and food came at just the right time and were wonderful.
