Excellent from start to finish mario is so friendly and his 3 staff were ever to efficient friendly and helpful will be sad day when mario sells up his staff will have no trouble finding employment they are so good at their job

Went here tonight and the food was amazing!! Greeted by whom I guess was the owner very friendly and welcoming. Waitress was great. Food was fantastic. I got the Chicken Milanese wife got a pizza and my mother in law got Carbonara. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Atmosphere was wonderful. Will definitely be going back. Thank you for the great meal!

Such a good meal, first time we have been along loved it. We had the set menu, the rib starter was particular highlight but it was all great. Thank you for wonderful meal.

AMAZING!!!! Best Italian I’ve had in a long time. We are new to the area and noticed Mario’s as we drove past and called in on the off chance. Staff are fantastic, nothing is too much for them. A lovely meal in a quiet friendly atmosphere.

It was a genuine joy to meet Mario. Witty, enthusiastic and welcoming. The service was quick and the food didn't disappoint. All cooked fresh and individual choices accommodated. We will be going again, and often I'm sure.

Food was hot and very tasty, the service was very good and delivered with a smile and Mario was ever present asking if all was OK.

Ate here tonight and Mario's is absolutely beautiful, from the music, the table decorations and most importantly the food was the best I have ever eaten, i had the fish ravioli and it was so so tasty, i scraped my plate clean haha good portions, great price. the staff were lovely, chatty, friendly people definately recommend, 10 out of 10 stars, will definately be coming back again. thank you mario and team x

Well what can I say, absolutely amazing from start to finish. My mum, her friend and I went to Mario’s this evening and when we walked in we were shocked and in awe of how beautiful this restaurant is and the music was just so inviting and nice to listen too in the background, we were greeted with lovely staff and seated fast. The menu is spectacular and very good pricing too for the quality of food you receive. We ordered and had our food very fast, freshly made and piping hot ready for us to enjoy. It was THE best pasta I’ve ever had in my life. I spent a week in Italy last year and had pasta everyday and I can honestly say Mario’s beats it all. Mario is so so friendly and easy to talk too, and I’ll certainly be back very soon. I aswell as my mum and her friend all thoroughly enjoyed our food! 10/5 stars! Blown away by this little hidden gem! Thank you 🤩🤤❤️

Food was lovely, the host Mario was great too! Unfortunately we only realised once we left we had been charged for 2 drinks that we didn’t have.. likely a honest mistake though.

Had an absolutely delicious meal. Great atmosphere and the waiting team, especially our waiter Will were absolutely superb. Super polite and helpful!

Restaurant was extremely busy. 2 meals out of 6 were not great (lamb cutlets were ordered; out of the 3 cutlets per dish, one on each plate tasted as if the meat was turning, it wasn’t particularly nice and was left however the other 2 cutlets were fine, as were the rest of the meal). The starter (garlic mushrooms) was delicious. Asked for the lamb to be medium-rare but it was over cooked. Again not a major issue as 2/3 of it was eaten but it’s unlikely I would return.

Whent out for a family meal had an absolutely delicious Tbone steak and hot chocolate fudge dessert. Friendly staff etc will be returning soon for more great food.

This place is my favourite restaurant, and I recommend it to anyone looking for good Italian food. Every meal is delicious, the staff are friendly and attentive, and it's a cosy place to take your loved ones. Not to mention the prices are great! Finally, Mario is a fantastic host that makes everyone feel welcome. Be kind and respectful to the staff, and they'll make sure you are well taken care of!

The food here is amazing. The garlic mushrooms and the lasagna were awesome! I took my gf there for our first date a year ago and I just took her back for the anniversary. What I'm saying is that the food is that good it makes women fall in love.

We had the mid-week 3 course special and it was all excellent and amazing value. The house wine was good for the price. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Mario came out of the kitchen for a chat. The toilet was spotless. An all-round good experience.

Visited 4 or 5 times and once again, always lovely service and a great meal. Nice wine and a freshly cooked pizza and pasta. Would recommend.

Valentines meal out and as always had a brilliant night. Food was amazing and all the staff friendly and attentive.

We have been to Mario's several times and have never been let down by the food choices, taste or quality. Portions are very generous and the dishes are very authentic. The building was a tad cold, but we were there just after opening, could have done with the heating on an hour or so beforehand to feel a tad more cosy.

I first had the pleasure of Mario's amazing food and hospitality 30 years ago, and while we've all gotten older, the "Mario's Experience" gets better with every visit. Whether a large family get-together or an intimate dinner for two, I've thoroughly enjoyed every occasion. I'd give him 6 stars if I could!🤟

First time in this restaurant Beautiful food and such pleasant staff ,Kyle and millie were amazing,very helpful and friendly, even the chef came out to say hello ,would definitely go again and recommend this place,only one draw back ,from the outside there is nothing that attracts me to go in,I went in on my sons recommendation, beautiful inside lovely decor.

Lovely little restaurant. Authentic Italian food and a great place for special occasions. Prices are fair and the staff are always very good.

Firstly I have to say this restaurant was over booked for my liking with small children wandering around. The food was delayed due to the amount of bookings all seating at the same time. The portions are large even as a starter which is great if your enjoying what your having not so great if your not ! We found the garlic bread to be sloppy and the bruschetta to be decided for mine was spoilt with an overpowering taste of what I can only describe as Branson pickle?? The steaks were perfect however the hanging kebabs were just chunks of beef tasting of very little in a indescribable sticky sauce?? On the plus side the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming would we return probably not sadly.

Mario's has always been one of the staple places in eat in Bacup. It honestly never disappoints and is one of the best Italian places I've been. Mario is a lovely guy and loves to chat with customers and is so down to earth. You can chat with him all day. He informed me about the pasta containing chillies, and that he'd be more than happy to make something else if it was too spicy. It was really nice, but he actually cares about his customers. Good local run business with a good vibe and the best customer service I've ever received. Must visit if you're a local or just visiting the food is lovely, and there are so many meat/veggie options. Need to make this my regular place! Thank you Mario and staff 😊

We frequent Marios on a regular basis, the hospitality is above and beyond every single visit and the food is always fantastic. Our family are spread all over the country but the first thing they always ask when coming home is can we go to Marios! We have tried many things from the menu and have never been disappointed and the cocktails are good too. Would highly recommend a visit.

Went to Marios for a family meal, the service was prompt , but we had problems with the food. The garlic bread pizzas for our starters were not cooked through, raw dough! We told the staff and they took them away and put them in the oven. They came back still not cooked through. All of us had pasta except 1 off us who has pizza which again was uncooked. We told the staff who came and took it away. When we got the bill we had been charged for the pizza that was taken away. We said that we had sent it back as it wasnt even cooked properly. The rude waiter said as the pizza had been started he couldn’t refund it. We asked how we were supposed to know if it was cooked or not without trying it? He replied that it’s the restaurant policy not to refund if the food had been tried!!!!! We asked to see the supervisor/manager which he was very reluctant to get for us saying we needed to pay. After we insisted we did actually get to speak to a supervisor who took the pizza and garlic breads off the bill. Safe to say I won’t be returning. Pretty poor experience made worse by the crappy attitude of the waiter.

arrived to a freezing cold restaurant..the waiting staff were AWFUL.. we had drinks while waiting for a 4th party to arrive. the cutlery was not clean. it has actual food debris on it . this was taken away on request and then not replaced either. still shivering in the cold..our friend arrived and we ordered food . it took around 45 minutes at least..then Mario came out. greeted is as ladies and BOY..to my son in law ..and told my friend the food was late because she had kept them waiting. we ordered all together when she arrived..just disgraceful disrespect to blame a guest for the late arrival of food . the service was abysmal ..i got the check and it was left on the table ..waitress immediately walked away.i had to call the waiter to actually pay it .. I rather think we'd have been right to walk out and NOT pay. never again..shoddy and dismal. a very forgettable evening for a lot of money and totally not worth a penny.

I’ll start with the positives. The service was good, friendly and efficient. However it’s hard to see how the reviews are so good for here. The food was mediocre. The beef on the meat skewer was over cooked and both skewers were coated in gravy which was unexpected. The chips were good. The lasagna didn’t have that much meat and was loads of pasta with an overly sweet Ragu sauce. The wine had cork floating in it. The decor is tired and dated (think late 1980s) the glassware has been washed so often it’s scratched and opaque. The cutlery didn’t match and was what you get in a school canteen. Overall very overpriced for the quality of the food and the overall dining experience. Nothing was so bad that a complaint was warranted but the combination of everything meant a disappointing evening

Food was amazing, tasted really good and well worth the price. The only point that we had contention with was that it took a while between the starter and the main meal to arrive, however it was quite busy. Would recommend anyone to come here for a meal and will definitely be coming again!

Very delicious vegetarian Pizza and cheese cake.

Due to Covid restrictions and no restaurants opened we ordered a take away from Mario's for my husbands birthday. We've previously had a couple of shocking Indian takeaways during lockdown and had decided no more takeaways. As my husbands birthday approached I was told Mario's takeaway was great. We ordered chilli garlic bread, garlic mushrooms and lasagne...it was all superb, will definitely be back. As we had a short wait for our order, we were given a complimentary bottle of red wine too. 5 star service in lockdown!

Really nice traditional italian food with lovely staff! Staff are very welcoming and great at recommending food! We visited at the start of October as a family of 5 and all our food came out fresh and quick. We could not believe the portion sizes, very generous feeders! Which we love because we are a foodie family! Top food I would recommend is the rustica garlic bread, lasagne, ribs and also the kids loved the Nutella pizza!

Went with a few friends and admittedly was a bit loud and maybe our language wasn’t the best but we have now all been slated all over Facebook saying we was abusive and intimidating towards staff when we wasn’t at all, we was never asked to leave which I think we would have been if we was as bad as they’re making us out to be, just think it’s very unprofessional to slate us all over Facebook! Do not recommend at all, boring people who need to learn to have a laugh!
