A little bit of Italy in town. I went for the first time last night with my best friend and we had great service from Charlotte and really good tapas, great choices, fresh and perfectly cooked. There was a really buzzing atmosphere I will definitely be back. If you go ask Alex the mixologist to make you a personalised cocktail- he is a magician.

Going from strength to strength. Surely the best restaurant in the Irwell Valley? Love this place. Service is always professional and friendly. The space itself is well designed and comfortable with downstairs booths and an attractive mezzanine level - lovely reuse of a heritage building. The wine list and cocktails are high quality but reasonably priced. The food is the star of the show as it should be. Decent portion sizes, delicious dishes with highlights this time including seafood risotto and Moroccan pastilla. Hope these guys continue to prosper for a long time.

I rang up to check on the facilities available for dining with an autistic child and the phone was ended on me when I mentioned my child was autistic. I find this appalling and actually ableist. Sort it out. Will definitely never be dining here. Paul

Wonderful experience, great service and fabulous wine.

6 of us dined here last night and it was absolutely fantastic food. I can highly recommend what we tried, Parma ham croquettes, duck confit, cornbread fritters OMG these are so good. Tortellini with goats cheese and beetroot in sage butter 👌 sliced fillet steak, lamb meatballs, the pinot Grigio is one of nicest I’ve had in a long time, along with a divine crème brûlée! We sat upstairs and the two bar waitresses were very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was buzzing. It’s definitely on my top list of local restaurants, go and try it for yourself!

Depends what you are after. It's expensive, limited quantities per dish but the food is interesting. Its quite busy and noisy and so is really a destination social evening rather than a place to go for a meal. We've been a few times as it is close, but each time have come away thinking "that was nice but i fancy something else". Five of us went, only two alcoholic drinks the rest soft drinks and water and the bill came to over £200

We went for mother's day, unfortunately no offers on for it. The prices and sizes were absolutely disgusting... £13.50 for 4 ribs... nothing else! Then no kids menus but offered kids pizza that wasn't on the menu... £5.50 for a tiny baguette pizza. The place was so loud and over stimulating we ate and left immediately and didn't stay for dessert. The man who served us was lovely but the girl who collected our plates and who we paid was very off hand and a bit rude. Definitely won't be returning. Very over priced for what it was.

First time here with friends for lunch. Brilliant place we are hoping to visit again in the very near futute.

Having worked in this building many years ago when it was a bank I met a former work colleague for lunch today. The building has been restored and adapted beautifully and sensitively. The staff were very friendly and professional. The food was quite simply stunning - artistically presented with exquisite and creative flavour combinations. I cannot recommend it highly enough .

Pros: good food, good drinks selection and some staff are friendly. Lovely waitress taking our orders. Cons: extremely noisy, and the waiter who brought our food (small plates that came in waves) had neither the inclination to communicate, or clear used plates away; instead, placing new ones on top of the old ones until it was such a cramped mess, we had to put used plates on the spare chair at our table. He still didn’t up his game. Bear on mind that this is a bar and restaurant with little to separate the two, so if you want a relaxed meal, and to be able to hear the person sitting next to you, avoid weekends.

Quite a difficult place to review for me as the food was excellent but value for money I'd say no, be prepared to pay £10 for a few pieces of bread and some very small pieces of cheese, a very small portion of fig jam and similar pot of honey. Bit dearer for Chicken Skewers ,six smallish pieces of chicken with Butterbean humus. No complaints about the quality of the food, service was excellent, nice atmosphere and a really good pint of beer. I'd been told it was expensive but wasn't prepared for the portion size . All that said the food was very good, the staff were friendly and efficient.

Another over rated place to dine in a town trying to be something it will never be. Saturday night here is an avoid at all costs if you want a quiet meal. It’s loud to the point you can’t have a conversation without shouting. The service was ok and our waitress was good, being on a table of four at the top of the stairs was probably the better table after passing the local rabble downstairs. The food was average at best, very bland and under seasoned, the steak was cooked well but a few slices of sirloin steak at that price is outrageous. I could go on but it’s easier to say if you want tapas there’s a far better restaurant not two minutes away.

When this place opened, the food was excellent but quite expensive. The food quality dipped a little a few years ago, but right now, this is THE place to eat! The food is absolutely out of this world, some of the best that I have had anywhere in the world! The scallops with squid ink risotto is truly to die for!

One of the finest meals Ive eaten. Could not believe this is on man doorstep. I would advise a reservation as the place was busy.. and why not? Oysters, carpaccio and scallops. Perfect. The staff were great and the ambiance was really nice for a weds night. Thank you to all the team that looked after us. Already planning a return next week. You can have too much of a great place.

Visited for dinner yesterday and it was absolutely outstanding! My partner and I aren’t local but said we would happily make the hours drive for dinner again. We ordered the antipasto board, wild mushrooms, prawns, croquettes and potatoes. The prawns are the best prawns I have ever had, the whole meal was delicious. We then order two blood orange spritz which were again delicious. We wish we had room for dessert but just too full. Staff were lovely and service was great.

Absolutely score this place. Excellent food and service and a lovely quirky interior with lots of atmosphere. Since moving locally, we have made many visits. Support local business. They work hard against all odds.

This is the third or fourth time we have been and we had another lovely evening. Food was amazing, atmosphere was great. It does get very loud and busy downstairs with people at the bar!

Great place to eat food was very good lamb and chicken kebabs cooked to perfection, ice cream coffee and a shot sweet to die for staff really nice and helpful .

We dropped in last night to give this place a try. Inside an old bank, it's spacious, there's a lot of people just having a drink and a chat, no music, just a lovely atmosphere in a well thought out setting. They have an online booking system but as this showed they had seats all evening we didn't bother, and just did a walk in. The menu isn't too big - which I like as you don't get lost trying to find something to try. There is a good range of things to go for, and these are smaller dishes, served tapas style as soon as they have prepared and/or cooked them. The wine list is good too - everything from a reasonable house wine through to stuff at £75 a bottle. We had a white and a red at £25 each and I was very happy with the price vs quality. The waiting on staff were very attentive, and for the first time in a long time, the whhite wine was placed properly in a wine bucket that had both ice and water in so the body of the bottle could submerge and remain chilled. There was also a proper cloth serviette with it to stop water dripping off the bottle when it was poured. The wine itself was served correctly by the waitress, and these little things make a big difference to me - thank you. The food was good - tasty, just enough on each plate that it didn't get overwhelming, and we left nothing behind. I hate it when you get too much food, and you end up leaving food on your plate at the end. We had stuff that was Italian/Sicilian, including regional cheeses, and there was planrty to try that you wouldn't see at your average Italian place. Minor constructive criticism hence four stars for service - the dishes arrived a lot quicker than we expected, so we still were eating cold appetisers when the hot food came. This didn't really bother me, but the Mrs would have preferred not to have all of the food on the table at once. It could also have been due to the place only having a couple of other diners, if it was packed busy with diners, the dishes may have arrived more slowly. Next time we go, we'll ask them to take their time, or order dishes in two stagese. This probably reflects on us, rather than the restaurant, but if you're going yourself, you know what to expect. Very good, it deserves its 5 stars from us, and we will come back for sure.

Sicilian style tapas. Didn't realise this when we went in, but oh my word, I very literally could order every single thing on that menu, the dishes are all varied and delicious. And even though it's tapas, the portions are definitely generous in nature, especially the sharer platter. Absolutely coming again, with more people too so I can sample more dishes!

A relaxing sunday afternoon. Friendly atmosphere, absolutely no pressure and professionally prepared tasty dishes to be had.

First visit and this was a Friday evening, very busy but luckily we had booked so no problem there. Tall table for 6 in the main bar area was spacious and clean. Staff were very attentive, ensured our glasses were replenished and that the food we ordered arrived. Because it's tapas style you're not always sure what the portions are going to be but these were good. All food was good. 6 people with lots of drinks was around £280 plus tip. Very good.

I called in middle of afternoon for coffee and cake but they didn't have any cake. Thought it's a Cafe/bar.

Good Friday, 2023. A lovely sunny day. We were sat near the window so that 3 of us experienced being blinded by the sun - they could seriously do with blinds. Food came in dribs and drabs. Our starters arrived about 10 minutes after each other. If they are supposed to be individually served, this is unacceptable, as they ought to come together. If, as was suggested, they are supposed to be “like tapas”, surely they ought to be priced per person and served with sufficient portions for each member of the party to enjoy. Not terribly well thought out. Having experienced tapas elsewhere (including Spain) never have I had to endure one portion of tapas delivered 10 minutes before the proceeding one. The food itself was good and flavourful, but I’ve had “samples” from restaurants that were more filling. Cannoli… well a singular cannolo - came with all the appearance of being a genuine article, but turned out to be hollow with a tablespoon of ricotta stuffing at the beginning and end, nothing but dry air in the middle! For £7.50! Surely the profit on these is sufficient to put another 20p’s worth of ricotta in them? A half arsedly stuffed cannoli… akin to the sandwiches you buy at railway stations, which look full, but turn out to have a concertina’d, thin, single slice of ham carefully positioned along the cutting-edge! Grossly disappointed with that one! An insult to your customers, I won’t be back, and won’t be singing the praises of this place. 10/10 for flavour. 1/10 for effort.

Brilliant night with the girls, great atmosphere and food was really good a different selection of tapas to the norm. Highly recommend for a fun night out!

A wee bit expensive, but great authentic Italian food. Enough variety for veggies, but not sure re vegans. A very popular place with a healthy buzz from folk enjoying themselves.

We visited for my wife's birthday and I can honestly say that I have a new favourite restaurant. The food was simply amazing washed down with a beautiful bottle of lambrusco sparkling red wine which needs to be stocked in more places. The staff could not have been nicer and the whole event was in my wife's words absolutely perfect. We will definitely be visiting again and can not recommend this place enough

We’ve been in here many times for a drink but decided to try the menu. It didn’t disappoint. Tapas style dishes that are cooked and brought out in no specific order. Really fresh, quality food. Waitress helpful and lovely. Lunchtime offers also available. You can’t go wrong here. 🇮🇹

We visited as a four yesterday and were surprised that somewhere so good is on our doorstep. All the food was fantastic and the staff were friendly and attentive. We shall be returning soon!

Cool vibe and a decent sharing tapas platter. More Spanish than Italian really, for instance the menu says friggitelli but the resulting pimientos de padrón are excellent and authentically Spanish in style. Tortilla and boquerónes follow suit and are equally appetising. The sweets are more Italian, the canolo was especially good, as is the coffee. Staff are friendly and give you space and the place is airy and unthreatening. Prices felt about right and there's no rush to leave though my experience was during the day. Well worth a punt, I'll be going again.

Great place to have dtinks with friends

Went for the first time on Monday with my visiting Italian Cousin. Didn't open until 12 noon but no outdoor signage stating this. However once open and seated inside - good overall impression of a sophisticated interior. Young staff very pleasant, albeit a few smiles wouldn't go amiss. Seemed bit nervous but we'll informed on products etc. Ordered drinks and Chichetti. Wonderful. Best Chichetti l have had for ages! This is just what Rawtenstall needs. Going again and again and again! Just noticed that l n3ver posted this?!

Popped in for some lunch and Iris was amazing we had the platter for 2 and it was exceptional. I àm gluten free and it suited me very well

Our waitress was very helpful and informative about the different dishes. The food exceeded our expectations, it was excellent! Great atmosphere, thoroughly recommend....we will be back! And ,plenty of parking nearby which is a huge bonus.

Just called in for some food, good atmoshere, food being served was really nice. A popular spot in Rawtenstall , bigger than most of the other venues and some might say a little upmarket. Staff were friendly and food was served on time. will return soon.

Can’t say it was amazing, I liked the food but to get one scallop for a sharing menu, for £9 - is a rip off, we asked how you called plural scallops on the menu and only get one, for the price too. Usually restaurants like the fact you feel fed when you leave however you need to spend upwards of £30-£40 each to do this here.

Good atmosphere, good service, fresh food well cooked. This is just a lovely chiccetti and never fails to impress and in todays times pretty good value for money.

First time, wanted to visit for ages. Greetings very good, no fuss to the table. Drinks ordered (thanks for the large prosecco). Italian tapas style so for four we had 11 dishes, they come out when they are ready. All dishes really tasty, well seasoned and a good variety. Service excellent, thanks to the team

What an absolutely wonderful evening. We booked the table online which was easy with the added option to inform the restaurant of any intolerances. As we arrived the atmosphere could be felt straight away, a lovely vibe filled with people enjoying a drink and food. The service was seamless, staff were attentive, caring, friendly and warming. We didn't need to ask for another drink as the waitress was aware of every step of our dining experience. A truly lovely night, thank you very much guys. After working in the hospitality industry myself I can fully appreciate the service and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates quality food (the beef was exquisite)

Can't get enough of this place, the food is absolutely awesome and is teamed with friendly, professional staff. We've visited Avucciria many times and this was our 1st lockdown visit. We felt super safe and relaxed, the food and service remains exceptional whilst being on top with social distancing & track/trace. I'd recommend the lamb skewers, the breaded parmesan chicken & the polpetti meatballs, plus the green beans with pine nuts... I could go on and on and on :-D It was also good to see the support of a local brewery with specials on the drinks menu from Northern Whisper, of which went down a treat with my other half :-) We won't hesitate to return soon and will continue to recommend Avucciria 100%.
