Amazing food, so fresh , great service, very friendly Would definitely recommend and would come again

Popped in here on a cold wet Thursday night after a meander around the O2 and surrounding bars. Mrs MadDog and myself were staying on the Sunborn Yacht (that's another review) but weren't up for gourmet dining onboard so....... .......walking past the door of the marina and were drawn in by the offer on the chalkboard which varies depending on the season/day of the week. Had some popadoms and the usual pickles and for some reason unknown to anybody except the Great MadDog in the Heavens ordered a Chicken Biryani for two. Now, the MadDogs never ever order Biryanis but I think it might have been a comfort food thing. MadDog has Kofta to start, Mrs M is a Samosa kind of woman. Both very nice served by a nice young waitress who was very smiley. It's at this point I should point out that the Marina is BYOB. There are a couple of convenience stores just round the corner so that's not a problem. The Chef pops his head out of the Kitchen to say hello and to ask if there is anything he can do with said Biryani. We leave it to him to surprise us, which he does. Instead of the bog standard veggie curry to accompany the chicken and rice he turns out a dhal which I thought was a bit of genius. Made our meal that much better. This place serves good food which is a bit different from the norm. Very impressed. Mrs M was just as happy with all of hers. Nice Food. Nice waitress Top Chef and a good hug from the Biryani. MadDog says, "Bring on the Dhal"!!

Food was very good, we had chicken tikka and chilli chicken tikka and I would grade 4/5 overall. Portions a little on small size but you could always order more! Service excellent and 5/5 overall. Very nice people. We will be back.

I am sitting here (solo) writing this review. Staying overnight for a conference and look around for something tasty and non bland. Was a bit worried by some of the negative reviews on here but on a deeper drill down noted the reviewer only had one review against their profile? Hmmmmmm Thought I would give the benefit of the doubt and chance my arm. Pleased that I did. Arrived, place was empty, had second thoughts. Waiter warmly greeted me and sat me at my table. Gagging for a beer I asked and he informed that the didn’t have a license but said I could BYO and a couple of stores within 100m which was correct. Walk and got a lager (or two) and made my way back. Nice menu but was drawn to the Naha mirchi which is a speciality of the house which is a traditional Bangladesh dish. Outstanding as was the Peshwari naan.Worth a visit, good service, clean open kitchen and most importantly great food

Worst restaurant I have ever visited.Very small portions, bland, tasteless food. Service was terrible asked for water twice received at the end of the meal, waiter was unattentive although we were the only ones in the restaurant and it was overpriced Avoid this restaurant .

A fantastic little find. I wouldn’t usually go into somewhere that looks quiet and not full, however took a chance on this place and it absolutely paid off. Fantastic value for money with the starter, main and sides dish off the set menu. Food tasted delicious and the service was just as good to match. Will definitely return if visiting London and in the area again. Would highly recommend.

Had a lot of restraunt options tonight but we decided on Marina and *Wow* - very friendly service and the food is out of this world. Very accommodating to our group. Loved it! Will visit again.

It’s the worse restaurant I have visited. They charge me too much and you gave us a baby portion of food for high price. The staff keeps asking whether we want anything more so they run ur bill very high. We ended up paying £110 for very small potion of food.I went with family and was very disappointed. Avoid the place unless u want to go home feeling hungry. Terrible service. They done deserve any star!!!!!!

The food was one of the bests and really nice.It is always quite.It also has a really good view while eating.Overall I really enjoyed it and it was lovely.

I'm always pleased with the excellent customer service here at Marina. The team are very friendly and welcoming. The food is authentic with a good mix of flavours. I particularly love the paneer dishes as well as the tandoori garlic chicken. The team here were also kind enough to make me a masala chai which was the perfect end to the meal. If you're a local in Royal Victoria or simply visiting the area, be sure to stop here for a peaceful Riverside meal.

I don't usually leave bad reviews, but this was not a good place to eat.They lure you in with cheap prices in the window but when you sit and look at the actual prices, they are completely different. Red flag 1Portions are small, curry was poor quality and service was.....weird. I left thinking I should of just got a curry from Tesco. Never again.

Réservation et accueil:On appelle avant d y aller, on demande s ils sont complets, ou s ils ont des dispo, ils nous répondent pas besoin de réserver, mais nous annoncent une salle pleine à 50%, jusque là rien d anormal On s y rend après une quinzaines de minutes, surpris seule une table est prise par un couple soit un taux de moins de moins de 10% Mon mari me dit quel c est suspect il vaut mieux aller ailleurs, je l encourage à rester et essayer mais quelle bêtise on aurait mieux fait de fuire Le chef de salle qui est aussi le patron nous propose une table au milieu du restau alors que les places sont vacantes J insiste et on fini par obtenir une table en façade, c est cool on se dit avec cette chaleur on va avoir une belle vue comme à la plage.... le patron m est pas content et tiré la gueule La nourriture:On commande des plats indiens, un prawn butterfly et chicken chaat en entree.J adore manger indien et j en mange depuis l enfance et mon mari est indien. on sait ce que c est, là il nous propose une sorte de curry de poulet et nous explique que c est une revisite, mais sans chaat c est pas un chaat. c est comme une tarte au citron revisitee, s il n y a pas de citron bah c est pas au citron, bref! et le pompon c était fadasse En-suite deux plats un shatkora chicken et des king Prawn Naga Mirchi, les crevettes étaient toutes écrasées sans goût. Les deux plats avaient la même base, et le patron me dit non non c est différent.En accompagnement, un garlic naan et un parrotha, pas de garlic sur le garlic naan c est dommage le naan était bon (le seul bon plat)En revanche le parrotha, c était un parrotha a l huile, même frit, ça n aurait pas pu être plus huileux Bref pas de dessert pour cette première et dernière expérience chez eux Le service: .... inexistant On n a fait que d attendre, attente pour être installés, attente pour commander, attente pour les plats, attente pour l addition, attente pour payer!!!!! 15 min entre le moment oú on lui a dit que l on payait par carte et le moment ou l on a payé ( après plusieurs relances ) Ambiance:0 sourir, nonchalance et grincheux par dessus tout!! et pas seulement avec nous !!!Il criait sur le cuisinier.. lorsque l on voulait payer Lors de notre départ il y avait 4 autres personnes...Prix 50,30, avec l offre du gouvernement 30,30£.... Queríamos probar algo local con la esperanza de convertirnos en clientes habituales. qué decepción. Ojalá pudiera darle cero estrellas, pero lamentablemente 1 estrella con una calificación terrible no le hace justicia a este restaurante. La comida era normal y muy aceitosa. 2 por una botella de agua de medio litro fue una estafa y se hizo intencionalmente.El pollo al curry no se parecía en nada a lo que había hecho antes, era un plato de acompañamiento, un pollo al curry pero no un chaat. El parata tenía suficiente aceite goteando para hacer papas fritas. dado el precio, la comida tiene una relación calidad-precio excepcionalmente mala.Incluso tuvimos que pedir servilletas varias veces y nos dieron algo que fácilmente confundiría con un bloque de papel higiénico.El camarero fue quizás la peor parte de la experiencia con una actitud intolerable. Le pregunté cuánto tiempo lleva en el negocio, para mi horror, ¡dijo 5! ! ! Casi me desmayo. Además de eso, agregó un 10% de cargo por servicio a la factura. ¡El mal servicio tiene un precio! ! ! Hubo una discusión con alguien y estaban gritandoEl restaurante también quería dinero en efectivo. Apuesto a que no ha oído hablar de la pandemia.

Visited this small restaurant during a visit to Excel. Food was very bad quality we had to return it 3 times as the chicken was not cooked properly in the tikka and the nan bread was raw. Never again please avoid at all costs you will make a mistake if you go there. On top of all of this there are 2 waiters who stare at you all the time !!!!

STAYING LOCAL FANCIED A CURRY .Marina was I found to be a very reasonably priced,acceptable food but only average.This restaurant does not serve alchohol but there are outlets nearby where you can purchase your own and the restaurant will provide glasses.{this was a bonus as the local Tesco had some great offers on gin and tonic and wine).

The best Indian curry house in excel area. They got open kitchen, freshly cooked and we can see what are they cooking. The staff were very polite and attentive. Inside the restaurant and white table cloth was very clean. One very important thing I heard from the manager of this restaurant that when I asked him this restaurant is very good so why you have got some bad reviews and he answered me that they have got some competitors around this area,and they are trying to destroy their reputation and put some bad reviews. I visit this restaurant 3/4 times a year. I can recommend this restaurant.

sat down, ordered drinks & food. whilst waiting for food, me & my partner saw a mouse. told the staff and they said we could get a seat outside. we didn’t really want to after seeing the mouse so walked out and didn’t pay. wouldn’t recommend

I was in the area. I fancied a good curry. The resteraunt was quite empty at 6 in the evening. I was offered 2 poppadums with a variety of dips to go with it. Then my main course of chicken tikka masala came. A small bowl of rice and a bowl of curry. There were at most 5 pieces of chicken swimming in too much red sauce. Chicken was cold in the muddle and my plate was cold and the bowl that the curry came in was cold so immediately the food cooled down. I also got a soggy naan bread . I had not started my meal when the waiter came over to ask me if it was OK I told him it was cold.He also cleared away my lime pickle and chopped onions that came with my poppadum without asking and I had to tell him to bring it back. I spoke to the manager when he came in and told him. He swore that everything was hot and fresh cooked. He gave me a discount and I paid £19 including a bottle of still water. although i wasnt bothered to ask him how much the discount was. Very un impressed.

My husband and I came new years day for some quick food. We ordered tikka chicken korma and lamb lababdar. The restaurant was picturesque on the water front, relaxed atmosphere and fast service. The food was great quality - the best korma ive ever had (and ive had a few over years!) and all at a great price. Highly recommend!

La segunda vez que he comido en Marine dentro de un mes, no parece un restaurante indio desde el exterior, una decoración blanca muy moderna, el personal fue atento y amable, no muchos clientes en mis dos visitas. La comida estaba caliente y sabrosa y las raciones eran correctas. Este es un restaurante sin licencia, pero puede traer el suyo si lo desea. Precios bastante razonables para comida india sencilla.

Visitamos este restaurante este fin de semana desde fuera de la ciudad (más al norte para ser más precisos) y tuvimos una experiencia algo extraña.

Visited for dinner when travelling through the area. Nice setting next to royal Victoria dock and excel exhibition centre. Food was good and tasty. Service was good. Please note that restaurant is unlicensed but you can bring your own. Would visit again

Buen restaurante limpio. Nada sugiere que sea un restaurante indio, ya que es muy sencillo con una decoración moderna y minimalista. Es extraño ver un menú indio que no tiene ninguna pakora en absoluto. Teníamos la oferta para 2 menús ay 29 así que 2 entrantes, 2 platos principales y 2 guarniciones. El chaat de pollo fue agradable y vino como pollo picado en salsa; el pollo Korma estaba delicioso; El plato de pollo tandoori estaba bien, pero el pollo bhuna era insípido. La comida estaba muy caliente, así que fue una ventaja. No volvería corriendo, pero fue útil para llegar tarde a un hotel local.

We happened upon this restaurant and all I can say is I was blown away. The standard and flavour of the food was absolutely incredible. We will be back. Best Indian I've ever eaten!!!

Amazing food friendly staff. nice view, in front of the restaurant nice river view. They don’t have the license to sell alcohol but bring your own alcohol, nearby Tesco we bought alcohol. Definitely we will come back.

i was expecting a fantastic Indian experience whilst in Londo, but unfortunately not so !

Visiting from a local hotel on a Friday night, we were struck by a number of things. The restaurant is small and quite bland. There is nothing about the decor that suggests Indian cuisine and it is devoid of atmosphere; no music for example. We were the only guests, outnumbered by the hovering staff and so the entire experience was odd, to say the least. The food was perfectly ok - to the standard of any of hundreds of small Indian restaurants around the edges of London - but the lack of atmosphere and of fellow dinners made this a ‘won’t go back there again’ experience.

Estábamos de paso y uno de los miembros del personal nos invitó a entrar. No estábamos seguros de qué hacer, así que fuimos con la recomendación de los camareros, que resultó ser muy agradable. La comida no era demasiado picante y las raciones eran lo suficientemente grandes para que no pudiéramos terminar lo que teníamos. Volvería a comer aquí de nuevo.

Me and my boyfriend decided to stop by here for a very pleasant meal as we were staying in a hotel nearby, really glad we didn’t rely on some of the reviews that this place has. The food was absolutely fantastic, we both throughly enjoyed it and it definitely gave competition to our favourite local back home! Thank you so much for the lovely food.

Don’t believe the negative reviews on TA (probably written by local competitors) go and try this excellent restaurant with an open kitchen abs attentive service. Highly recommended.

I visited with friends on a busy Saturday night, there are around 50 covers in total, however, there was one big party of 30 customers also in the restaurant. Despite it being very busy the staff were extraordinary making sure that we were fully catered for at all times. The curry itself was very nice and portions were substantial without over stuffing our faces. Ideal place to visit after a conference at the Excel or riding the Emirates Air Line. Just to warn this restaurant has no licence so if you want to drink alcohol with your curry (like me) then you'll need to buy alcohol in advance and bring it along!

We had a business party last night at marina grill and restaurant, all of us enjoyed the chef special curry and rice. The waiter recommended us some special tandoori dishes with naan and salad, really spot on. Definitely we will come. But they don’t have the alcohol license ( BYO ). The restaurant views is superb.

Visited whilst staying at ibis. This restaurant has a great view over water but that’s the only plus point.

We enjoyed nice breakfast with very reasonable price£4.95. Quick service and attentive. Very nice atmosphere and calm. They do nice Indian traditional curry as well . One of my friends tried lamb chop and karahi lamb with garlic naan , he enjoyed a lot .

Fuimos aquí con otros 5 amigos, todos pedimos el desayuno inglés completo (después de unos 15 minutos de nosotros esperando para que nos sirvieran) Tardamos otros 20 minutos más para que la comida saliera de nosotros. Los tamaños de las porciones son ridículos, casi nada en el plato y se ve tan poco apetecible. 2 personas con las que he encontrado pelo en su desayuno. Chef no llevaba ningún tipo de redecilla o gorro. La comida era de mala calidad y la comida era desagradable. Le explicamos al camarero que había pelos en 2 de los desayunos y él ofreció que se hicieran de nuevo, lo cual rechazamos. Explicamos cómo solo pagaríamos las bebidas, ya que la comida era horrible. El cargo total por 6 bebidas (3 latas de Coca Cola, 1 lata de Red Bull, un jugo de naranja y chocolate caliente) llegó a 16. (muy caro y no estoy seguro de dónde vino esa cifra)

Came on spur of the moment late this evening while on a stroll from the Good Hotel. Amiable, hospitable and very tasty food. Remember to bring your own alcohol,but there is a well stocked Supermarket job st back around the corner

My boyfriend and I returned here this evening after our visit last year. We’ve now made it a ‘go-to’ restaurant every time we visit London. We love Indian food and this, for us, is the best we’ve ever had. The service is excellent and so professional. Unlike a big chain restaurant, the waiters are very attentive and make you feel like a valued customer. The menu is full of choice and the set meals are ideal for couples. Café Marina is a hidden gem but I’m so glad we found it!

We came to the excel to attend the conference after conference we were very hungry and we are looking some good restaurant around the excel after few minutes walk we get the marina grill and We all went inside the restaurant. The staff of the restaurant were very polite and humble they gave us nice table beside the window . They gave us complimentary papadoms. We ordered some chef recommended dishes from the menu. The food was very delicious and freshly cooked because we can see the open kitchen and chefs are cooking. They have nice breakfast as well. Next day morning we tried their breakfast, it is also good. The price are really reasonable. Definitely we will come back.

It's me and my family who came from Newyork for holiday went out to see excel exhibition. However, a moment we felt hungry and found out an Indian restaurant called excel marina.

We really weren’t impressed with our visit yesterday. Don’t get me wrong, prices were very reasonable but we ordered a chicken vindaloo. It had no depth, tasted like a super spicy tasteless sauce, literally never tasted anything like it in my Vindaloo life and was so spicy that my lips were burning and head throbbing from the intense spice (Vindaloo is a weekly favourite of mine - so spice isn’t generally an issue!)

Very very average dinner: frozen samosa, tasteless daal, plain rice heated up in the microwave... they don’t serve wine at all since they don’t have a alcohol license (but they will send you to buy your own bottle of wine at Tesco nearby), smelly glasses... napkins, ice, water for the table arrived on late, when we had already commenced eating... staff don’t speak a good English, which is not a big problem for me since I m not an English native speaker but... as a waiter, it is unacceptable you misunderstand “ice with rice” and viceversa all dinner long... right?! We decided to stay just because we were very hungry and there is no much choice around there. On the top of it: extremely expensive for the quality and quantity of food we had! And no receipt given at the end of the dinner.

I stayed at a nearby hotel and this is the worst takeaway I have ever had, got the meal for 2 and the menu states served with rice or naan bread (as seen in the picture) they wanted to charge for it, they didn’t honour the 10% collection discount and said the meal deal is exempt, it does not state this on the menu, the portions are minuscule VERY small the bread was the size of my hand and the food tasted terrible spent £27.00 and had to throw most of it away ended up getting room service in the end, I would never eat from this place again, I would rather starve.... DO NOT ORDER FROM OR EAT HERE

Worse place I have ever been. We ordered full English breakfast but was given vegetarian. Waiter tried to tell us sausage is meat and they don’t have bacon anymore. Later he admitted it was vegetarian. Paratha bread is obviously heated up from frozen. Omelette doesn’t come with any kind of veg and they added £4 on top of omelette for adding simple veg. When asked for bill waiter gave us random figure of £25 and when I said I want to see the bill he tried to make up random prices. And it doesn’t look like a clean kitchen. Would never go back there and would not recommend to anyone.

Went for breakfast and had a table outside. Fabulous setting to watch the world go by.

Lugar bueno y bonito, pero. . Menú típico indio., servidor no era capaz de explicar. Una forma simple de pollo para nuestro hijo. . . no entiendo! ! Sonido microondas de cocina y bebidas sólo suaves. . . .

Estuvimos aquí por un poco de comida. Dos hombres llegaron a la mesa y pedimos algunas bebidas, 3 latas y un grifo de agua, 2 desayunos y comprobé si la hamburguesa gourmet fue pollo, fue así que pedí eso. 1 de los hombres dijeron que no pollo disponible mientras el otro hombre dijo que era, así que todo bien. Unos minutos más tarde 1 de los hombres volvió y dijo, "sí" cordero burger bien no como cordero, así dijo, no gracias, entonces me ofrecieron de nuevo dije de donantes, NO GRACIAS. Me dijo que no me preocupara que no habría nada.

What a stealer!! What a ripoff!!!

Mi pareja y yo estábamos en Londres para una noche en la puerta de al lado, así que el restaurante sunborn estaba a 30 segundos. La comida era muy buena y las porciones eran adecuados. Tuve el ajo y chili pollo y mi pareja tenía pollo a la mantequilla, muy razonable también! Lo recomiendo :).

Wide menu reasonable food. Pleasant staff. fair prices. No licence so no wine (although a Tesco nearby so you could probably take your own) Nothing outstanding, nothing bad.

warm welcome and high hope of some nice but let down by taste and how they run the place. I was sat next to a side dinning area that was been used as storage even though it was at the front overlooking the docks! had a almost constant staff procession obtaining supplies.

We stumbled across this restaurant as we were staying in the area for a few days. It’s a very odd place - it seems like a room which was forced to be a restaurant. It lacks atmosphere, attention from staff and the food was just ok. I usually love Indian food but was dissappointed. Service was poor. There was no one else in the restaurant which we should have taken as a sign!

El desayuno inglés completo no tenía huevos, cuando le preguntamos dónde está el huevo de su respuesta fue 'no tenemos por qué no informarnos antes de pedir! ! ! ! La porción de frijoles y setas eran tan insignificantes que necesitaba una lupa. Nuestros cafés eran débiles y insípido. Mi amigo me dijo. . . Nunca orden inglés en un restaurante asiático, cómo MUY CIERTO! Si estás pasando por seguir caminando para evitar decepciones. K: (

We all fancied a curry after going to the bike show, this place came up on trip advisor. The staff were efficient and friendly and the food was excellent. Popped to the local supermarket for wine which was not an issue. We will definitely return to this restaurant again. It was late afternoon so was relatively quiet but this didn't spoil the atmosphere. Thanks for putting up with us, see you again. (the noisy 6 peeps that arrived at about 16.30) :)

We came across the cafe / restaurant while staying at the docklands , the menu was varied ,the food was lovely with very attentive staff, they didn't have a licence to selling alcohol but they were very happy to go to the shop across the road to get us some , they brought receipts back with them so as to prove how much it was , it was a really nice atmosphere but most of all the food was delicious, really worth a try ,would certainly recommend. But do be aware it reassembles more a cafe than luxury restaurant.

Poca pasado no esperaba mucho de este restaurante ya que parecía bastante pequeño y vacío.

Dinner visit after being in the Excel for a conference. Food was slow to arrive which was disappointing as the restaurant wasn't busy however was tasty. I felt that it was some what expensive compared to other Indians I have visited.

Very tasty food, but small portions with no alcohol licence. Pleasant service. Sat under TV which was turned on without asking if it was ok. The TV was turned off when we asked.

Unpretentious quality meals served with a smile. Helpful and willing to accomodate our specific requirements. A pleasant experience all round.

Marina dice ser auténtica comida india, pero es realmente una versión con occidente especias y mucho menos chiles. Si te gusta la comida estilo indio para los occidentales, entonces este es una buena alternativa a la comida rápida en la zona centro de Excel. Pero si necesitas la realidad, este no es para ti.

No es una gran oferta de restaurantes en esa zona. Probamos esta opción de la India. Sólo había tres o cuatro personas en una mesa, pero estaban terminando su cena ya. Pedir pero tuvimos que esperar una hora y media antes de llegar nuestra comida (conseguimos algunas pan y algunas salsas antes!). Había una empresa de aproximadamente 10 - 12 trabajadores excel llegar mucho después de nosotros, pero su comida antes que nosotros! ! ! Entonces no entiendo si el camarero era el chef demasiado porque él mantuvo en movimiento desde el comedor a la cocina abierta del restaurante: extraña. Luego en un determinado punto los cocineros quemado algo en el plato y el aire se volvió irrespirable. . . No tan bueno como esperábamos. . Sin duda habríamos. ha sido mala suerte! La comida básica, pero los precios eran bastante razonables.

Amazing restaurant nice atmosphere awesome butter chicken and nice naan bread. You should get the Bombay potatoes nice heat and excellent flavour. We got a butter chicken, lamb Kadahai Bombay potatoes and 2 naan breads for 39 pound great flavour

Visitamos como cerca poco tiempo y estar cerca. Yo definitivamente volveré de nuevo pero se recuerda de nip para la tienda de camino y recoger algunas cervezas tiger! Como yo era enviado mi marido y disfrutamos de una muy barata y sabrosa comida india maravillosamente. Pedimos pollo a la mantequilla, Bombay, cordero kadahi potaoes y arroz de coco! ¡GUAU! ! Nos alojamos en el Novotel y desayunamos allí. El desayuno inglés era una fantástica relación calidad-precio a £4.95 y la opción vegetariana en el mismo precio. Tanto los desayunos eran muy sabroso y bien cocinado y la vista sobre el muelle era muy agradable. Lo único negativo era el precio del jugo de naranja en 3.50 libras, pero estamos en el centro de Londres. Hubiéramos estado allí otra noche habría tenido no dudo en probar su menú indio.
