Mama Jacq's - Boxpark Wembley in Brent

Very good, delicious food, perfect service and family atmosphere

This place used to be good but went downhill in 2023.

Look, this is not your usual Brazilian Rodizio, if that's what you're looking for... This is more like a fast food type of place, but to be honest, I was just as well impressed with the quantity they've served! I chose picanha with cassava chips, farofa and rice. I must say that the portion was fairly big and I actually struggled to finish it. The picanha was cooked to perfection. The only down-side was that the farofa was not freshly made and was one of those that you buy in a bag, which she sorted out by putting into a little plastic pot in front of me. I felt that given its Brazilian, there should've been feijoada too, to complement the dish. But all in all, I thought the price was fair at just over 17 pounds. The food was ready in about 10 min. So really good service and food. If you are in the area and can't decide which one to choose from in box park (there are so many!) I would suggest trying this one out. Won't disappoint!

We went to Ipanema restaurant on a Thursday and had such a nice dinner. We had a cocktail each which lasted us our whole meal (great portion for the price). We also had 2 starters which were extremely tasty and amazing value for money. The mains were also very tasty and very good value for money. Definitely ask for the green parsley sauce (not sure what it’s called but it was soooo good!)

I went to boxpark Wembley and was spoilt for choice, saw Ipanema bbq and reminded me of when I was back in Brazil so thought I'd give it a go. It was great, ordered the chicken breast skewers which were cooked to perfection and tasted great, the salsa was fresh and went down well with the chicken. Two chicken and veggie skewers with two sides for just over tenner, was good value for money in my opinon. Service was also great, polite, friendly staff. Found out that they had a restaurant down the road too so looking forward to giving that a go soon. Would defo revisit!

Amazing brazilian food and basically the best in the UK, kind staff and great atmosphere.

Ordered on deliveroo. Despite living 4 miles away this would have been an easy 5 star but you griefed yourself in the worst way imaginable. I don't get why you'd pack salad with hot food in a container which absolutely nukes the veg. Even if I lived half a mile away it'd still turn up in a state. It's such a shame because the rest of the food was fantastic and you seem of have dressed the salad with the most amazing tasting vinaigrette and it's something I'd expect to happen from one of those cheap chicken shops not a respectable chain.

Highly recommend this street food! The chicken thighs are tender and juicy. Best combination with chips and salads. Much love for everyone🥰💛

A wonderful and surprising experience, I was impeccably served by Eloa, who explained the menu to us, was patient and attentive, I ordered a heart of palm cake with catupiry which was delicious, we ordered a portion of coxinha which was without a doubt the best I have eaten since I arrived in London, everything was fresh, I will definitely be back.

I had the Jerk Chicken and the spicy wings, my girlfriend had the chicken burrito and my food was good with a nice spice but that Burrito was absolutely fantastic! Lovely and kind staff who let us know the wait time and kept us updated on our order. Will definitely visit again if we're in the area.

My husband and I shared the boneless goat “wow” it was absolutely amazing if it wasn’t for us having to catch a train we’d have easily ordered another portion! We live in South Yorkshire and we are already planning a trip back just to have the goat again - it really was that good

Great... shame its not local to me. Had a steak, prawn and chicken thigh skewers. Had the carava chips but preferred the fries, not sure why but I had imagined cassava crisps when ordering which would have been nice. All super tasty and would definitely eat there again if in the area.

The food?!!! 100/10. The customer service 1,000/10. As soon as I approached the till I could see the staff had a great attitude towards their customers. I asked for a recommendation and the kind woman advised me to get the 1/4 Jerk Chicken with Gravy; I had it with succulent fried plantain and coconut rice & peas 🤤. TO. DIE. FOR. Every bite was a euphoric experience, I had to stop and take a minute just before I could eat my next bite. I didn’t even care that I had a drink with me. The chicken so soft and tasty, the plantain not too salty and just the right amount of sweetness for a first time trier. The rice and peas was FULL of flavour (even though I’m not a huge fan of long grain rice) the taste was soooo good that I didn’t even care. There’s only one place I’m eating at when I go back to BOXPARK Wembley. And thank you for complimenting my girls amazing smile.

I'm a regular here. Every week!! Yes my bank account gets a bit of a beating at times, but I love the food. The family and service is superb. The family are always welcoming . I wish they can open on in barnet !!! We don't have good Caribbean there. One can hope

Honestly, this is my favourite place to go and eat out when I’m in Wembley. The customer service there is top tier. The curry goat and the black bean stew is to literally die for!!!! Also the presentation 10/10.

Terrible experience. I do not recommend this business. Exceedingly poor customer service. I was with 4 friends. We are from Manchester. There was a problem with the traditional curry mutton, which was served with rice and peas and fried plantain. The business claim that the meat has been cooked for 3 hours. I had eaten approximately 1/3 of the meal then came across 3 pieces of pink on the inside pieces of meat. Clearly not cooked for 3 hours. Clearly a different batch of meat which had been added to a previously well cooked batch. This meal cost over £10 I went back to show them my findings. Jamilah called her manager who was extremely hostile and intimidating towards me and would not give me her name. She argued that I had eaten over half of the meal. I was so shocked with her manner. She said she would refund me 1/2 of the cost of the me. She had me standing there for over 5 minutes and was taking a long time to issue the refund. I am of Caribbean descent and have grown up on Caribbean food. I am also semi retired nurse and I know how to behave. She continued to dispute the amount of the meal I had eaten and insinuated that I was making trouble. Clearly not wanting to issue my refund. My friends were ready to leave as we were going to see a show at the theatre. I asked her if she could complete the refund as soon as possible. She accused me of being aggressive and saying that she was going to call security to remove me from the building. My friends are in complete disbelief of what was happening. She stormed off. 2 security officers attended in no time. Bystanders were building up. I had to explain the whole situation to the security officers who advised her to give me the refund. It was an extremely embarassing and upsetting experience which tainted the rest of my visit to London

Very disappoint, the food is not fresh, beans are very watering and meat is not from good quality. Without mentioning the poor customer service, very rude lady that choose to be arrogant than make money from the business. Sad

The food and the service at Ipanema is 5 stars. The lady the served us was so helpful, I was struggling to decide what to order and she recommended the chicken thigh skewers as she said they were her favourite. I’m very glad I chose them as not only did they taste amazing, they were such good value for money. My partner chose the wrap which was also delicious, and I got skin on fries and black beans as a side. We will definitely be returning here next time we come to Boxpark!

Best jerk chicken I’ve ever had. Fell off the bone. Chips were great too. The jerk sauce comes aside from the chicken which was a nice touch.

The best Caribbean food I've had out in ages!! The curried mutton was well seasoned and tasted delicious. Large portions too. Good value for money too. Mama Jacq was ever so nice too! She made sure that her guests were satisfied. I will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!!

This place is really great, the food is very unique and has high taste. The place is easy to find and there are certainly no magical parking attendants. The price is cheap, the portions are large, it's really top. If you are lucky, eat here if you can meet Neymar or Ronaldinho. Good job

For me the food at ipanema bbq is the best in boxpark.

Sharing platter most of which was nice apart from the steak skewers which were pure fat and gristle you could not chew it, a let down as we had 2 of these skewers. Do not order the steak you will waste your money rather go to the Argentinian place the food is nicer!

The best food at Box Park Wembley, the chicken kebabs are delicious and the picanha is the most succulent and tasty.

50 minutes for a wrap with fries

Steak wrap, really not tasty. Tasted like nothing. Bland steak with a few cassava chips inside and salad. Maybe I just don’t like Brazilian food. Won’t be ordering again. However, lady on front of house was nice and friendly.

The food is very good and the staff so nice. I asked for fries but I got rice, when I asked they gave me additional fries without charging more. They have 20% off mom-we’d with the black box card ;)

The chicken wrap is great. The Brazilian hot dog is awful. Boiled hot dog on a cold bun. Not barbecued at all.

Had the curry goat and jerk fries on the side, amazing portion sizes. The curry goat was tender delicious and boneless and the sauce was delicious. The fries were piping hot thick and a huge portion. I highly recommend this place, staff are lovely.

Chewy steak wrap boring chilli fries

Ordered churrasco wrap with steak. There were plenty of salad in wrap but not meat. Beef was hard and chewy, difficult to swallow. Not the best quality.

Service wasn't great, I was told the wrap would be about 10 minutes. I went to check about 15 minutes later, I was told it would be 5 more minutes. After 10 minutes I went back as the buzzer still didn't sound (it was working fine, the LED was in flashing every few seconds). The lady handed me the wrap which was sitting there. I don't see the point of the buzzers if not used correctly. I would understand if it was busy, but it wasn't. The food was ok

It was awful. They sent me a mixed for one but it was like Dog food nor for people. Its packed was disgusting. It was very dirty. It has a lot of problems. I have taken it to complain about this restaurant. Really I wasted my money. Shame on you.

Natasha who works as the cashier at ipanema bbq is amazing! I haven't tried Brazilian food before and she was totally welcoming and answered all my questions and even helped me decide on what to order according to my tastes, as well as showing me pictures of what the food looked like. I ordered the feijoada and was not disappointed and she even told me how the farofa is eaten with it because I wasn't sure. I enjoyed my meal so much I will definitely be coming back. I had a great conversation with her and she even recommended a drink I should try for next time. The Brazilian chefs are amazing too, you can tell they put a lot of effort into the dish. I recommend getting the feijoada if you love rice and good meat, it felt healthy because they put a lot of greens, beans and an orange. Was lovely!

I've tried quite a lot of the vendors at BoxPark now and I've been eyeing up the guys at Ipanema Barbecue for some time and let me tell you, they didn't disappoint! For the reasonable price of £13.50, I grabbed three skewers (picanha steak, chicken thighs and halloumi), skin on fries and garlic bread and I was well and truly stuffed. The taste was superb, the fat on the steak was so juicy and not too chewy, the chicken thighs were incredibly succulent and the halloumi was soft, charred and so tasty. I'll definitely be trying the king prawns when I go again.

Maybe I don't understand Brazilian food or don't appreciate the flavours, but judging by what i tasted/ordered, I wouldn't be going back there in a hurry! Calamari - Rubbery, overcooked, completely average tasting (seasoning). Chicken wings - Fried in breadcrumbs, that's it. No flavour, completely bland! Didn't get it. Chips with cheese and chilli -Chilli was non existent, a few pepper flakes here and there that's it.! floppy and soggy chips with way too much cheese. Really?? Very disappointed!
