Mama G's Bistro Grill & Coffee Bar in Tameside

Went in from the reviews and unsure if it was the right place considering the comments. The food for Sunday dinner that was on show looked dried up and unappetising. The food we ordered was simple shouldn't have taken as long as it did and considering it seemed part cooked (panini's) wasn't toasted like it should have been, ruined it. My understanding is panini is toasted? Tasted like part baked bread. It was awful. Won't be going again clearly not impressed.

Drive past virtually every day and never been in. Well glad I did today with my brother. OMG his mixed grill was amazing in portion size and value for money wise. He had to take some home in a doggy bag. My breakfast was lovely. I've passed my recommendation onto my family and friends who are all impressed with what I showed them. We'll DEFINITELY b returning. Thank you for our lovely food. Atmosphere was lovely and down to earth, friendly staff xx

It’s not gluten free pasta I’ve flared up. It’s obonot cleaned properly!

first tine dining at Mama Gs, and overall we were very happy. i had a roast with 2 meats, meats were lovely. lamb was excellent, roasties were very tasty, generally very good, only cons: gravy although tasty was very watery, and my parsnips and carrots were abit hard. there my only critiques with the food, my oartner had a parmo and she absolutely loved it. shes not stopped going on about it, service was good, although the FOH staff could be abit chirpier, but it was easter sunday so thats to be taken inti account. .cleniliness was an issue tho, food debris gathered around the bottom of our tavke, dusty and was from a buildup not just an innatentive sweeping, also the oil bottles that are for some reason everywhere, were full of finger prints and greasy, the table clothes also, under the plastic covers were stained and visibly dirty round the edges, these arent nit picks, and its genuinely just in need of a declutter and a good clean, but it must be said that the areas of the kitchen i caught a glimpse of looked clean and tidy. lovely little place and fir £16 for both with 2 cans, im very happy. could just do with a proper clean and mayve get rid of some of the lidl oil bottles,but thank you very much and we will definately returning soon, prices were incredibly reasinable.

We were looking for a breakfast in Denton, we found this little gem just opposite Lidl, oh what a great find it was! Smiling owner, very cosy and making you wanna go back! Very reasonably priced and menus sticking to your hands not because they were dirty but because they’re so nice to touch and browse! We’ll be definitely back for the roast and other menu items (pizza etc). Some music (Italian maybe?) would be nice.

First time here after reading the reviews and passing it for years and never went so I thought sod it, give it ago! Got the small breakfast and it was lovely, did me perfect. Filled me up! The gentleman greeted me well, checked on me. Definitely be back to try the dinner menu next time! 👏👏👍👍👍

A tiny but decent restaurant. All staff here are nice and friendly. Highly recommend to try their pasta as well as steak. Value for money.

Lovely local gem. Homemade lasagne and two freshly baked pizzas with drinks for under £23. Staff are accommodating and friendly. Great find!

Omg just been in and I have a new favourite. Ordered the chicken burger, and daughter ordered bacon cheese burger. they came on their own made buns so soft and delicious. The chicken and beef where so succulent, cooked to what I thought was perfection They came out by the young lady that made them. Definitely my new favourite. Staff were so polite especially with the children. 👏 😋

We ordered a cappuccino and Latte which were very nice and a good start to our experience. However when it came to the food my partner ordered a cheese and bacon panini but ended up receiving a chicken and bacon sandwich. On the menu it says both of our meals should have come with salad and rainbow slaw but we only got the sandwich with no garnish. We also ordered some skin on fries which never came but were on our bill which we had removed. We didn't mention the chips as it would have taken about 20 minutes to get them and we'd have already finished our sandwiches by then. I've given it three stars as the food we did get was nice and the coffees were good but too much was wrong.

Just been with my grandchildren and daughter in law. Children had spag bol. We had afternoon tea. Best value we ever had . So friendly especially with children. Will definitely be returning. Prices unbelievably cheap.

A hidden gem! Inspiring decor, relaxing atmosphere. Garlic and chilli prawns were particularly special. But it's the people that make it magical. I have been twice now, so feel like family 💕

Absolutely amazing place, friendly staff and amazing food.

Always great food here! Nice people and loads of choice. Great prices. The only areas that could sometimes improve are communication and timing (food usually arrives at different times) and table cleaning. Still happy to highly recommend it as a good value café.

We recently managed to attend one of the regular free pizza or pasta and it was absolutely amazing. The food was fabulous and the service was lovely too. I will definitely be returning to try more of the menu

What an amazing little place, we was recommended it by a friend and wow what can I say fresh fresh fresh, quality and wonderful owners.....as we ordered I sat watching them make fresh pasta the fillet steak arrive cooked to perfection along with a quality gammon steak with handcooked chips and trimmings....followed by a freshly baked cherry pie with homemade mascapone ice cream for under £30 need I say more....I work in food and I'm so fussy ..my new go to place 5* from me and the hubby 😁

Amazing from the moment we walked in till the moment we left, the food was fabulous cooked by order , the price is phenomenal, the staff are absolutely wonderful, if we didn't live in Yorkshire, we'd be here weekly. Popped in for brunch. 2 pensioners breakfasts and 2 lattes £9. Great value and well cooked. Only complaint is there are not many tables as I am sure this place does well. Will be back.

This place is a perfect gem ..all pasta and pizza is made fresh ...fresh to order home made pasta and home made pizza base ..sunday dinner is fantastic ..the staff are great ..you can bring your own wine no corkage charge...pasta dishes 5 pounds for home made !!! So delicious and a great experience..we are never disappointed..please try this place..Andrea x

This place has really gone down hill and about them going for cigs witch is true they all smoke i had a breakfast there last week it cheap the sausages were like they was done in a deep fat fryer it all round disgusting and the food here used be good I used to go alot not eney more its now a really poor place to eat shame really must say

We called here this morning by the off chance for breakfast. And I seen the amazing Sunday dinners 😍 and ended up having a beef dinner with all the trimmings it was beautiful. The young lady serving was very friendly and the staff was very friendly . Lovely Little place to eat would definitely come back 😋

Great takeaway Sunday lunch....minus 1 star as I had breakfast and slightly let down by hash browns being diced potatoes which were like square chips.

This absolute little gem! All home made bread , pies , cheesecake, pasta ,the works. Fab value for money. Goin back next Monday for an Italian tasting evening. Cannot fault it. Oh and the staff are just the best, warm and friendly. Love it xx

I came last night. I've come again today. I just can't talk highly enough of this place. Scandalously cheap. Dedicated and professional staff. I want to come everyday. Wonderful. Not enough superlatives... outstanding and I'm very hard to please. See for yourself. This is the spot!

Went for lunch here today and have to say it was absolutely delicious....we had bacon burgers with cheese and freshly home cooked chips and coleslaw...what made it that bit better was that they even baked their own burger buns...yummy! Staff where really friendly, informative and helpful will definitely recommend thank you will be back. 😁

This is honestly the best cafe/bistro that I’ve ever been to. Not only is the food absolutely amazing and home cooked. The owners are really lovely. Whenever I’ve gone in with my toddler they have always been so helpful. It’s certainly child friendly as they have a box of toys and a little table for a child to sit at and play. Not to mention they always tell me to leave cleaning up any bit of mess my toddler has made. I have anxiety about going places on my own but this place I never feel anxious going on my own as it’s homely and welcoming. I always recommend this place to friends and family and I recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a good place to go for lovely food and atmosphere 🙂

A pleasant cafe serving a nice club sandwich.

I've been a few times, service always bad, as in waiting time, but food usually good. On this occasion service was the usual, over 30 mins waiting for a sandwich! When it finally arrived, the bread was rock hard, and the sandwich hardly had any filling. When I pointed this out to the waitress, she agreed, and then charged me full price! How does that work?

First time in there today, had the cheese pie chips and beans, was amazed by the quality food. The cheese pie was home made and delicious was expecting a slice a plate pie, but was a whole pie, the chips were home made and not the frozen type. The staff were accommodating and friendly. And when speaking to the owner it was evident of the passion he had of the quality of his pies. I would recommend this establishment to any one.

The Staff were friendly and very helpful,i thought it was quite expensive for what i ordered.£6.40 for a full English Breakfast. This is Denton not Manchester City centre.

Not hipster, artisan, beard wearing trendy Chorlton prices. This quality, traditional cooking from our grandparents generation should be the norm again. The corporates have leached our high streets for chains of mediocrity. "Artisan" is pretentious and overpriced. Simple, affordable, food done well is the future. Small businesses cooking freshly in small quantity and specialising in what they are good at. Being in full control, efficient and bringing back the sense of community. A little more than a review but a heartfelt belief that we have allowed the corporates to go too far. We've got to take the power back. And the cutlery is spotless...
