authenticity isn’t great. Ordered moo ping and they just gave skewered unmarinated pork. I asked for extra spicy in tom yum too, tasted very western. Insulting 😫 would like to try actual moo ping if they can follow actual Thai recipe !

Well where do I start? It was my birthday last night and we decided to go to this restaurant. This is the second time that we have been. What an amazing restaurant. This is the food is out of this world. The Staff are so polite and so friendly we didn’t want to leave. It was my birthday and we had such a fantastic time. They couldn’t do enough for us. I would highly recommend this to anybody, loving Thai food this has to be the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been in. Well done Guys keep up the good work we will definitely see you soon.

Mulai is the best Thai food you'll get in Hull. It's clean, fresh and fast to serve. The staff are lovely and the prices are very reasonable. I cannot recommend this place enough. I've eaten here a dozen times and every time it's been exceptional in every way. It's a small place so I recommend booking so as not to be disappointed.

Visited for the first time today for lunch. Our meals were absolutely delicious. Best Thai food I’ve had I think. The lunch menu was very varied and great value. Service was excellent with friendly staff. I’ll remember the prawn toast for a long time! Fabulous! Thoroughly recommend this lovely restaurant and will definitely eat here again. We have been dining at Malai Thai for some time now and the staff are wonderful. We normally start with a mixed platter and it is always delicious. The green Thai curry is always a winner as well.

Best thai food i’ve had, staff are lovely.

Fancied lunch out last Friday so rang Malai Thai to books table on spec. The lady on the phone was very helpful and we were booked in for 40 minutes later. Overall experience was fantastic, food was really good and staff were very attentive and polite. I really like the fixed price menu idea, it keeps things simple but is very fairly priced. I can’t rate this small family restaurant highly enough. This was our second visit and we will certainly go again.

We had a take away from Malai Thai and it was first class. Platter of starters and Massaman for main. Delicious food, piping hot, delivered with a smile. Can't fault it. We will be back.

Amazing as always, went for the 5th time last night.

The female staff was extremely rude! If we had problems with the food she would blame us that we were the problem nothing wrong with the food everything that we ordered smelt like raw fish the female staff was not welcoming at all she looked very unhappy to serve us as we had darker skin but when she went to other table she made them feel warm she couldn't stop smiling at them as they were white she Is extremely rude and racist i dont recommend this place as its supposed to be thai but it didn't have a hint of thai in it they should really train they're chefs how to cook Thai food and the servers for customer service

They are a racist business, the woman serving is a proper racist. We asked for a table and was asked to sit somewhere else saying the preffered table is booked but another group of 3 walked in and they were made to seat there as they where white - we asked and they did not have any reservations. Moving on the food was not at all up too the mark with the fish cake undercooked and when asked they were very rude and replied saying no one complained as if its our fault. Then with a surprise we found a long black hair on the noodles where they freaking blamed us for that. I would never recommend this restaurant and they should close the business for the way they behaved with clients.

What an amazing little Gem of a place. I can’t understand the previous review… probably after a freebie! So many 5* reviews everywhere can’t be wrong! Anyway, we had a lovely meal, we booked, (recommended as always busy) the staff are lovely and attentive. Service was warm, timely, welcoming and genuine. Food was delicious, authentic and flavoursome… it’s now my favourite place! Thank you and we will be back very soon!

Honestly, I don't want to leave any star for this unpleasant service and food. The female staff was so rude and unfriendly, unfair to us. You can also find more reviews on her ill-behaviour. But still, the owner didn't take care of it. She needs proper customer service training. We came to this restaurant to have a nice time with family and ended up with a bad evening with cost. People will not buy illness which I did. And also this restaurant is not kids-friendly. Would not recommend this.

If you want to it in - reserve a table, restaurant is very small. I recommend fried rice 52 and haddock.

Even though it's a small restaurant, the vibe is very humble and quaint. Food is top quality. And if you can't get a table, just get takeaway.

Good value for good sized portions, I never have any leftovers though because its delicious - if you have enough self control, a starter, main, and rice would give you plenty for lunch the next day. All the staff I've spoken to have been helpful and friendly, including their delivery guy. Delivery can take a while as they organise the delivery orders by area, but you can order in advance if you want it quicker. You can also pay by card at your door which is great.

This cosy, authentic, atmospheric little gem of a restaurant has been open nearly 4 years now and I don’t know how I’ve only just tried it. With great service, a good menu and delicious food, I can’t wait to go back. I think what helps to make it so special is its small size. It’s a cosy, warm, dining experience, without the tables being too close together. Eating in here, you feel like you’re one of the lucky ones to be able to take a table and be part of the experience. Look forward to returning. Booking recommended.

What can I say great little restaurant with great food and service. The food here was really nice. I had the jungle curry which is a northern curry and my favourite curry when travelling around Thailand. The curry here was the best I had outside of Thailand. Best Thai restaurant in the local area.

Just felt like being back in Thailand. A small place but that didn't stop it having so much choice on the menu. Nice welcome and service of drinks while we decided what to have. Lots of dishes to choose from. service great and food very tasty, would certainly go back and choose another meal from the menu, I would love to try the whole menu over time. Great little find - cant wait to revisit .

Food was just average, nothing to shout about. I have had better Thai cuisines. The tom yam was just filled with excessive fish sauce and had no significant tom yam taste. Atmosphere is nice but too small and limited seating. The female staff (15 Oct Sun at 630pm) was extremely hostile and unfriendly. She was unhappy to serve us for whatever reasons only known to her. To be fair, other tables had lots of locals and she was extremely happy to serve them. In conclusion, this isn’t an authentic Thai restaurant and most definitely this isn’t Thai hospitality as you would have experienced in Thailand.

Never fail to produce the best , freshest food we've tried nearly all the menu now and recommended this place to lots of friends keep the good work up guys

Visited Saturday 9/9/2023 for lunch . Small but welcoming place we were seated quickly and ordered drinks while we browsed the menu. We chose from lunch menu of 2 courses. Our starters arrived quickly and were very tasty, just enough. Main course hot and beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. All in all one of the best this restaurants we have visited, ambience,quality of food and price amazing. This will certainly be top of our lunchtime places in the future couldn’t praise to highly

First time visiting this spot but it certainly won’t be our last. With only 4-6 tables this is a small but perfectly formed restaurant where the atmosphere grabs you and the smell of lemongrass pulls you in. The staff are welcoming and attentive. We ordered some ribs and pork skewers for starters and we weren’t disappointed. Both flavoursome with hints of aromatic spices and Thai sauces they were both rich and easily digested. For our mains we had the chicken red Thai and chicken Penang. The red Thai was so creamy and full of those crazy flavours of lemongrass and coconut and the chicken ratio was the best I’ve ever had. The Penang was nice and spicy with loads of chicken, peppers and green beans plus the jasmine rice had the perfect sticky consistency needed to mop up those left over sauces. We’ve already decided we will be back soon. This little slice of Thailand on Newland has already gained a spot in our hearts ❤️❤️

The perfect spot for some amazing food, courteous staff and good value. Upon entering, the venue is stunning and notably very clean. We were seated immediately and looked through the menu which is excellent with good varied choices. Drinks order was swiftly taken and delivered. We then ordered and in good time the starters arrived. Piping hot and absolutely delicious. The mains that followed were again piping hot and delicious. By far the best Thai I have eaten, the staff are wonderful, swift and polite and the food is SO tasty. Cannot wait to go back.

We don’t often have Thai food but seen all the good reviews. The two young ladies who served us where fantastic and gave great service throughout. All the food was nice and fresh. The menu is varied and flexible as well as been authentic. Nothing we could fault really and would come again 100%.

Great food and lovely service. It was a party of seven and we were treated so well. Two courses for £12.50 is a bargain during the day. Can't recommend enough. We had vegans and other dietary requirements that were all met. We'll be back soon.

I went last night for the first time with friends. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and food the waitress brought food to our table that was freshly cooked with no long waiting times. Towards the end of the evening there was a rude, drunken customer that began to get aggressive. The staff handled this really well and quickly. I'm sure she'll be embarrassed this morning. Can't wait to book again and also order take out ❤️

First time and it was for lunch, £12.95 for 2 courses if I remember correctly. Chilli squid and chicken satays starters, Beef stir-fry and Chicken Thai basil and fried egg both with Jasmine rice. All excellent,tasty and plentiful. So why only 4*'s? Drink prices, almost £3 for a Coke and £5.50 for a glass of wine, however this wouldn't stop us returning or recommending.

What an amazing restraunt.... food was absolutely wonderful and delicious, and the staff was just as amazing as the food, so warm, welcoming and polite, was such a pleasure to dine there, will definitely be going again and will recommend this palce to everyone.

Visited for the first time just before Christmas. Top quality and service. Two of us were new to the Thai experience and the others had eaten Thai food many times. Highly recommend, all 4 of us were really impressed with all our dishes.
