20 years ago Majjo's had flavours in their curries 3 curries and rice All the curries had similar taste with variable degree of sweetness, by far too much sugar added ,no individual taste , no hint of cardamon, no hint of cumin , just a simple curry taste and sugar. The side portions are ridiculously small...actually made for sauces only in any other Takeaway. The price works fit ,if you fixed these issues. Please majjo please take your reviews seriously We want you in business.

Always excellent choices of favourites and unusual new dishes like recently Lamb and beetroot that was fab! Great for Veggie dishes as well. Very easy to over order! So much choice! We buy the smaller portions sizes and order wider. Breads, Samosas etc wonderful Friendly people who enjoy and take pride in what they do,

This shouldn’t pass health and safety standards given the amount of unnecessary excess oil in the food. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much oil in any dish. 1/3 of the container was oil I had to carefully extract before eating.

What a massive disappointment. I have been coming to Majjos for 15 years and it used to serve the absolute best, most authentic Indian food in the area. Fast forward to today, I have since moved further away but happened to be in Finchley so decided to pick up some food there for dinner. Firstly, it was only 7pm and the options were far more limited than they used to be. Secondly, when I sat down to eat the beans were so salty they were totally inedible. The dhal tasted nothing like it used to (and not in a good way), and the yamleaf, my favourite dish had far too much thin liquid. All in all, a huge disappointment. Has the ownership changed?? I didn’t see any familiar faces behind the counter. Farah used to be there greeting the customers but no sign of her.

Used to be good - now very average and pricey I ordered 2 small vegetable curries and 2 nans and paid £18. Curry was very bland with no sophistication in the spicing and the Naan was more like a paratha, certainly never having been anywhere a tandoor. I get the impression they are taking more short cuts than previously and at these prices I won’t be back.

Love Majjo's, have been getting takeaways / eating here for the past 8 years regularly. The dishes aren't too oily, lots of flavour and a great variety of options (meat and veggie), different spice levels to suit everyone. I was given the wrong order by the delivery man and when I called the restaurant they asked me to come and collect the right order from their restaurant. The whole point of me asking the food to be delivered is because I am not mobile . The restaurant couldn’t contact the driver either to bring my correct order . I requested a refund from Just Eat and it appears that they only refunds the cost of my order and not for the delivery charge nor the service charge (which in this case was an appealing service) ! Great tasting food (except the chicken korma, quite possibly the worst food I’ve ever been served. A salty oily broth with unseasoned/marinated boiled anaemic meat is not a curry, see photo). As many other reviews have mentioned, the portion sizes are not meeting expectations. Would be useful to have the weight on the website to avoid confusion. The small portions are about the size of my palm, something to be aware of. I would also argue meat is not their forte as when ordering veg only previously, it was a delight. And yes you do need to heat up at home which should be mentioned more clearly, but really not a problem. Samosas are great. However, put all this together and I would hesitate to recommend.

Where to start …. A) NO WHERE on the menu does it say the takeaway is served cold to be reheated at home - that an Indian restaurant is reworked as a deli is beyond bizarre B) the portions are very very small C) The food just did not taste good at all…. D) Could not actually finish the food as it was ridiculously salty. There’s really no excuse for such a bad set up in this day and age.

Have been using this take away for years but not since lock down so was looking forward to it. The staff have always been a bit stand offish, but my god the one who served me yesterday took it to a new level , you have to stand at the door peer across to see what was available, he did not help at all, then you have to shout your order and hope he puts the correct stuff in the bag, We then got a bit confused as to whether I was paying by card or not and he started huffing and puffing if I hadn't been so hungry I would have walked away. So nice food shame about the staff .

I've been eating Majjo's for the last 7 years or so, what sets Majjo's apart from other Indian takeaway's is the variety of dishes available which are home recipes, flavours which you may not find anywhere else! The flavours are always fresh and really stimulate your palate. They also opened a sit in restaurant some years ago with the welcome addition of a BBQ style mixed meat platter which is always my favourite, the lamb chops, seekh kebab and chicken tikka are very nice and succulent. I always look forward to their BBQ platter or takeaway especially when the slow cooked Lamb Nihari is available! My favourite Indian takeaway by far, family run, authentic and community oriented!

Average quality food sold in smaller than average portions for above average prices - cold. While the idea of a canteen style take-away to bring a meal home to reheat would be worthwhile if a) the food were great and b) the price of the cold foods were value for money, this long running experiment in gouging the public with its expensive chilled takeaway seems inexplicably to continue. We have had food from the takeaway section of Majjo's many times before and it is always excellent - really tasty, interesting curries, different to your bog standard indian or pakistani takeaway. Last Saturday we decided to try the actual restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, as we expected, and the service was fantastic as well - really friendly staff. The restaurant itself is clean and pleasant, but perhaps lacks a little bit of atmosphere. We got chatting to the owner and she asked for feedback on the decor as it's something she is trying to improve. Hopefully she will address the lighting and decoration to make it slightly more inviting and atmospheric as the food here is absolutely superb and it could, and should, be a thriving local restaurant. It's slightly off the main drag and unseen from the High Road - but it is well worth seeking out! It would be a real shame if another local, independent restaurant were to go under - especially one that is so good - so please give it a try and you won't be disappointed!

The portions weren't large but the amount of good quality meat in the portions as opposed to the usual Indian's -all sauce and veg but little meat, certainly made up for it. I can honestly say I feel down, disappointed, dissatisfied and ripped off after going to Majjo's. Service was ok and place itself was ok, the people there was nice and made the effort. But none of that could compensate for the minuses - very small portions and very expensive, I would have eaten more even on a diet! They were so small I asked if they were full portions as they offer half or full, but I wasn't willing to order more as I knew the portions are small because they are too focused on profit. The thing is the food itself (rice, dal, bread etc and vegetarian food) is very cheap anyway. It's stupid really that they think they can make more profit by saving on products which are very cheep - you make money on volume by selling a lot, ie bigger portions, lower prices and therefore more customers and more returning customers. The place was almost empty on a Saturday evening, so they're not getting much business but they would if they improved the portions sizes and decreased the prices. The also have too little variety and not enough vegetarian food. The menu was also too complicated and we had to ask many questions when we ordered to find out and get what we wanted. So I wouldn't go back and next time, I'm going to read reviews as others here had already posted the same complaints about prices and portion sizes.

I can't recommend this place highly enough, lovely original dishes. Yam leaf curry mmmmh yum, and lamb and tomato melt in your mouth. Different to you bulk standard Indian, obviously some of the reviewers have got no taste buds! Try the slow cooked lamb and the yam leaf Curry, great stuff!

This has to be the worst place we've ever bought takeaway from. The place itself looks ok and was pretty busy on a Friday night, the food (sold cold?!) is pricey, but totally lacking decent flavours and left us really disappointed. We were 4 people tasting it and none of the curries we've bought were worth the money. Never again.

Absolutely disgusting food. I don't know how they are still in business selling such terrible food. My advise is to avoid this place!

Didn’t manage to get pictures of the food but the interior was enough to let me know that the food was gonna bang! The staff were so lovely especially our server Jason. Our drinks and food were both ready within 15 minutes. Definitely worth the short wait. The food was delicious. I’m talking best mac n cheese I’ve had in a minute, and I love mac n cheese. The burger was tender and sweet. THE DRINK!! So refreshing. This was the best restaurant experience I’ve had in a while. Hot food, lovely service and sick tunes (love Drake). But yeah I would definitely recommend! So hard to believe the hidden gem in north London) (I ordered a single jerk + bbq (remix) burger with mac n cheese and a strawberry fizz totalling £16.50)

Delicioso cordero preparado kebab. En una parrilla de carbón en el restaurante de planta abierta. El chef había marinado la carne a la perfección y estaba tan perfectamente cocinado. Conseguí una porción gratis de Hummos con mi comida. La ensalada era fresca y sazonada muy bien.
