I recently had a terrible night here as part of a work night out. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, terrible customer service and the place stank of warm sweaty cheese. Staff were highly judgemental and rude. Don’t let them think they are better than you. Just don’t go here and give them your money. They are the rudest people I have ever met and don’t care in the slightest about customer satisfaction.

Me and my boyfriend make an effort to get to Maguires as regularly as possible as it's a 30-40 minute drive for us. I don't know exactly what it is, but I always find myself craving this greasy pizza. It tastes like cheap, dirty pizza and I mean that in the best way possible! Definitely the best vegan pizza around. The smell that hits you in the face as you open the door is unreal, also.

This place is great, really relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and the vegan pizza was top notch. You can buy by the slice (which we did to sample a few different ones) or full pizzas, and can take away also. It was great to get a beer whilst waiting for the takeaway. Especially impressed that they did a pizza which they labelled as spicy AND IT ACTUALLY WAS which is basically unheard of in the flavour fearing UK. I will go here now every time I’m in Liverpool.

Been here twice now. Staff always friendly. Great choice of vegan pizzas. Not a fan of faux meat but on last visit tried the Mega vegan hot dog and it did not disappoint. Wrapped in pizza dough with vegan cheese, sauce etc it was FAB. Well worth the visit. Drinks are reasonably priced too and has a good eclectic mix of music- mainly punk. Look forward to the next visit dudes.

Came here because I was told they do vegan pizza. I ordered and the pizza had hardly any toppings, and the pizza dough was so dry it hurt my mouth. I was disappointed. I've heard good things from this place, so don't know if was just that one person who cooked it and if I went another time someone may be cooking I'd have a better vegan pizza. I took half the pizza home and made it better at the home. I wouldn't of given this place a `poor` rating if wasn't for what its like inside. It alternative kinda place which I love and they have bands their and also of things going on.

First things first, the food: The first time we went we ordered vegan pizza, cupcakes, pizza dogs and garlic knots. The vegan pizza dog was amazing, and the main thing that persuaded a second visit, the pizza was an okay option, but not amazing and the cupcakes were lovely! Second visit, I ordered my pizza with garlic oil and pesto, and I swear it took the vegan cheese to a new level, it gave it that 'I'm going to die at 30 because my heart has been clogged with pizza grease' kind of vibe, the thing everyone craves from late night pizza and the quality that always seems to be lacking from vegan pizzas as they taste a bit too 'healthy', it was amazing, also the crust was a little nicer the second time too. I think because they're cooking your order fresh, the quality is always going to vary a little, and that's okay! The price was awesome, if you're two people, you can go away very very full if you come in with just a £20 note in hand, and that's including getting sodas if you want them! The vibe was really relaxed, they showed weird adverts, Studio Ghibli films and The Goonies on the 2 occasions we went! The staff seemed very chilled out, and I think that some of them might have come across a little unfriendly, but it was no big deal as the food was great and they were attentive. Also, the music was awesome, Weird Al, PIL and various other punk music. We didn't go on gig nights, so I've no idea what that would be like. Another bonus is that they're open pretty late, we were in Liverpool for a few days, and we initially went somewhere else but were put off by the atmosphere and we'd already walked 30 minutes from our hotel, and when we walked past Maguire's in our late night food search they were still open! The second time we visited was our last night and we'd been trying to figure out what to eat for ages, as we didn't want to waste our last night in a place with so many vegan options and suddenly it was 9PM, so we went to Maguire's, I think they close at 10-11PM most days! All round it was great, it would be a 5 if the staff had been a little friendlier, and the pizza had been as good the first time as it was the second!

This place was very casual; I imagine it draws a lot of grunge fans. With orange and green walls, and a makeshift projector propped up with bar mats, this place is definitely nothing swanky. The chairs don't match and the music is loud, but the food is good and the staff are friendly and engaging. If you're looking for a quick bite in a youth cafe- styled place, this is the one.

I go here regularly but usually for drinks at a gig. This is the first time we have ordered an entire pizza and wow we were glad we did. We were starving when we arrived so when we found out it was Thursday and you get nachos free when ordering a 15" pizza we were very happy. The nachos were awesome, and the pizza was absolutely delicious. We go to Crust on Bold Street and Maguires outshine them by far. Loved how staff brought us vegan sour cream on our nachos after seeing we'd ordered vegan pizza. Also got to rave about the cakes, they are lovely. I even ordered a vegan birthday cake through their supplier (via the help of Helen the owner). Really nice, friendly place who are totally inclusive and welcoming to everyone.

This place is honestly perfect, especially when vegans and meat eaters are going out there's so much choice for everyone. The food. Wow. I've read lots of good things about the vegan pizzas here so I was looking forward to my first visit to Maguire's. There is a great choice of pizzas for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters. My vegan pizza was amazing and my meat eating friend was not disappointed either. It's good value too, only £10 for a huge 15 inch pizza and £2 for a can of lager or cider - they don't sell draught beers. It's wonderful to have a pizza place in the city centre where vegans are so well catered for. I will definitely come back again.and had one of the many vegan pizzas

What I love about Maguire's is that the whole place has a professional yet hands on, friendly feel to it. None of this nameless, faceless sycophancy you get from generic pizzerias. Most of what is on the menu can be customised to order and is handmade in front of your eyes, so whether your veggie, vegan or teeth snarling carnivore, there'll be something for you here.On top of that, they sell GOOD brands of beer too (like Tangle Foot and other Badger Brewery beers to name but two) and often operate as a small music venue hiring out the back room to various up & coming bands, often even international acts, if you fancy a bit of live music to go with your grub!Good food, great staff, ace atmosphere. Winner!

We read the fab reviews/recommendations for Maquire’s on Tripadvisor and Scouse Veg and were determined to sample their vegan pizza during our recent week-end break to Liverpool. Although not strictly a vegetarian or vegan establishment, Maquire’s offers these and other options as part of its pizza range. Getting there is easy – just a few minutes’ walk from Lime Street Station along Lime Street itself and then Renshaw Street. As a previous reviewer has pointed out, Maquire’s is rather like eating in someone’s kitchen – it brought back memories of my student life back in the 80’s! Don’t expect matching chairs, fine china or linen napkins (and who needs these things, anyway!??!), but do expect to have a great pizza, great plonk and to be well looked after by the friendly and informative staff. Prices are incredibly reasonable – we took advantage of the Friday evening special which includes a large pizza plus bottle of wine for £15 quid. We also had a few other extras for the hell of it and will certainly return next time we're in Liverpool.

I've visited a couple of times during the day and it is usually completely empty with one girl working behind the counter. The first time I went I was a bit unsure simply because of how dead the place was, but we looked at the menu and there was so much option for vegans (vegan meat, vegan cheese), I just had to try something. The pizza was fantastic and was freshly made for us. It makes a nice difference to have vegan pizza that isn't just vegetables with a tomato base. I had spinach, chorizo and mushroom. And my friend had something else. We asked if we could have half and hald and the girl working there was really helpful and tolerant of our awkwardness! Been a second time too and it was just as great. More people should visit as it beats a lot of other well known and well loved pizza places in Liverpool by far.

We weren't sure what to opt for, however the guy who worked there explained that he was also vegan so took the time to run through the menu with us explaining what drinks we could and couldn't have. We opted fora vegan pizza with pesto and it was absolutely fantastic. There was a band playing upstairs which simply added to an already fantastic atmosphere. The bar staff are lovely and chat about wrestling (shown on a Sunday afternoon) or the gigs which happen in the back room.Music is punk and generally great. It has a great feel of furniture and stuff which has been genuinely put together, simply because a bar needs seats, not 'artfully' put together. The cocktails start at £3 and are pretty great.
