Absolutely disgusting - the worst Chinese I have ever had. The prawns were in thick spongey batter and had huge dark veins still left in which absolutely turned my stomach, the beef, chicken and ribs were all mainly fat and gristle and the satay sauce was grey! Picked at the chips and threw the rest in the bin, absolutely awful

The food was absolutely disgusting the rice was stuck to the container and was clumpy, the curry sauce was solid and cold in the carton. The chips were soggy, the duck was rock hard. There was no part of this meal that I could eat! It was awful and I’ve never had such a bad Chinese before. The chicken balls were edible but not very nice tasting. I’m really dissatisfied that I spent £37 on awful food.

Not impressed I am afraid. Gloopy and lack of flavour and a lot more expensive than our local takeaway who unfortunately are closed on Tuesdays. Could go on e.g. expensive local delivery charges even when spending £40+ on food. Real shame won’t be back I am sorry to say.

Well ordered again and it was lovely. I knew the take away was good, Correct food, hot and on time. Yummy too xx

Although the food can often take a while to arrive it is always worth the wait and the food is consistantly excellent and very good value for money.

This is the second time we have ordered and I honestly don’t know why we bothered ordering again after the first issue we had. They charged us £8 delivery!! And took almost 2 hours to arrive. The food is nice but the service is so rubbish! When you call for updates they don’t answer the phone. We will not be ordering again. We gave them the benefit of the doubt last time but we will use another Chinese moving forward.

Normally a good takeaway, order took just under 2 hours to deliver and was cold, bland, chewy, just not a great one if I’m honest

I had ordered from here before at the beginning of 2020 and thought never again, one of the worse Chinese take aways I’ve ever had. I decided to try again after reading a review I read on here not long ago, so glad I did. What a difference. Was really good and from now on this will be our go to Chinese take away place. Delivery expensive though at £4.

I don’t know if the owners have changed or something as there are a lot of bad reviews and we’ve always had a great meal. Moved to the area recently and have already eaten here 4 times. It’s some of the nicest Chinese food we’ve had outside of Asia. Delivery can be slow at busy times and they have called once to say they were out of tofu so couldn’t supply one dish we’d ordered. Food is always hot and tasty. It’s cheaper to order from just eat than direct which seems odd so check and save yourself £1!

This is the second takeaway meal since it reopened. Have you changed the chef??? The first meal was bland and I didn’t really enjoy and ended up leaving most of it. Before lock down the food was lovely and couldn’t fault it. So I gave them another go tonight hoping it was a one off last time, but no, this was even worse. It was awful I’m sorry to say. We will not be ordering again. We even had a text from them tonight saying they were open and if you ordered on line you got 10% off, well that never happened either!! I’m gutted as I used to love your food.

so happy to get this takeaway back. Chop suey was bland and they did ring me to say singapore noodles would be replaced with wheat noodles but they forgot to add any meat/seafood ????

Awful.Been closed down with a zero hygiene rating last year, and after previous food poisoning, I thought they may have cleaned up. Worse than ever. AVOID

Ordered a meal for Valentine's...Was over an hour late..an order was wrong..when we called to ask about the order we was told we got what we ordered...which we did not....food that was received was also cold..not happy

Ordered over the phone, The food arrived 45 minutes after placing an order on a Saturday piping hot, everything tasted fresh, not too pricey, really friendly staff on the phone and very friendly drivers. I'd defiantly recommend. I'll be re-ordering next weekend.

The chicken was off. The smell rancid. Couldn’t eat any. Waste of money. They should be closed down. Wish I had read the reviews first.

Food was half an hour late & was cold. Had to bang it in the microwave to heat it up due to being so cold. Not happy at all & definitely won’t be ordering again. If it wasn’t for the fact it’s the only Chinese on just eat I’d not order from there at all

The food from here is very good and they are the only Chinese that delivers but. Your Told 45 mins wait. Hour and half I phoned and it's still cooking. They offered to cancel my order I suggest you try Youngs same food but you have to pick up yourself but it's always ready when they say or they won't take your order time Sorry guys cannot cope with your timings.

Waited 1 1/4 hours only to find they haven’t even cooked it These idiots shouldn’t even be in buisness

Disaster!! Delivery accepted after 2 hours and 3 phone calls the food never arrived! They said that they had lost our order. We were given to believe that the next time we ordered there would be a small compensation for the non-arrival of the food. When we decided to give them a second chance we were told that we had made up the alleged compensation. We were less than impressed with both the original problem and the way the matter was dealt with the second time. We will not be using this business again!

Worst Chinese I've had by far I just don't get it after they sold me a year out of date soy sauce and it was greasy swamped in oil I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but it was the same again, disgusting :( waste of money

Sold me and my brother out of date soy sauce etc and food wasn't even cooked properly covered in grease... appalling customer service when we complained they told us they didn't care not there problem. Chicken didn't taste like chicken!!!

Nos presentaron a el Mandarín por amigos. Ahora tenía tres llevar desde este buen establecimiento. Ordenados en línea para colección y sólo tuvimos que esperar 30 minutos y en hora punta. El tamaño de las porciones son excelentes y muy buena relación calidad-precio.

Hicimos un pedido a través de comer solo en 7:00 pm, fue destinado a ser entregado en 8. 15:00 h. Después de 30 llamadas para intentar conseguir el restaurante finalmente me dieron una respuesta que decir que aún no se ha hecho. Se suponía que había llegado hace tres horas, todavía estamos esperando! No contento! Horrible servicio de entrega!

I have read quite a few reviews about this restaurant and truly feel some of the comments are a bit harsh. I am very fussy with where I order from. The meat here does not taste like it has been tenderised to death like a lot of places I have eaten from. The meat taste like what it is meant to taste like and the food is good. The food is always piping hot on delivery and they are very polite. I think Mandarin deserved another worthy comment today as I am waiting for my food to arrive. Yum Yum

Ordered a takeaway from here and arrived in about 50 mins which is what was promised so good start. Food was okay but we were missing the crispy seaweed from the set menu we ordered. This is now the second time this has happened from this takeaway - not impressed, but couldn't be bothered to ring and complain as too far away for them to do anything about it. The satay sauce was more tasty than it looked once you got past it's gloopy consistency and the chicken skewers to go with this were over cooked and dry. The Hong Kong style sweet and sour was really, really over sweet and drowned in the usual red sauce which dominated everything. My main concern is the point raised by an earlier reviewer that they have dropped down from a 5 to a 1 on their hygiene rating which is worrying. As it's not displayed on their website anywhere and you won't know if you are using an old menu which shows the previous rating of 5. More details can be found by checking out on the Food Standards Agency Website but in summary it was last checked on 08/09/16 and now shows a rating of 1 with the caption underneath 'Major Improvement Necessary'. Won't be using again them until this improves.

We often order Chinese from Mandarins and they are great. They deliver to Clare (and surrounding villages) and the food is always hot and fresh. We have had to wait over the stated delivery time before - but if a place is busy it means they're producing something good in my opinion. We ordered Chinese for 10 of us last night (Monday) and it arrived in the hour and was gorgeous!! I definitely recommend the duck in plum sauce. I often use the 'just eat' app to order and this works perfectly as well.

I ordered a take away delivery on the internet at 5pm for delivery at 8pm. When it had not arrived by 9pm I called the restaurant to be curtly told "we are very busy" no further information or reassurance was given, The food arrived at 9.20pm. On unwrapping it was seen to be nearly cold and on tasting - well - no taste detected, except from ginger in one dish which consisted of what looked like boiled beef, sliced into onions. The whole meal, which came to over £30 for two of us went in the bin.It is such a shame that is was so poor as we would very much like to have a decent take away restaurant in this area but it seems we will need to keep on cooking our own.

We ordered quite a big takeaway and enjoyed it all, think they even added extra by mistake! It was due to come here quite late, but arrived 30 mins earlier than expected. If the 1 star food hygiene rating is for real, I'll be stunned.

placed an order by phone (14th sept) and asked the girl who took the call why the food hygiene rating was crossed of menu , she said she had no idea so I ordered anyway and food was edible but of a poor standard , Today I went on food hygiene website to check takeaway out and there new rating is 1 , which when you read the report is fairly horrific , so use this place but be aware of this rating as it is way off the 5 on literature.

Got an order from mandarin and it was awful, I don't really know how to describe it other than not very nice. Really stodgy chicken balls, nasty greasy prawn toast, chicken satay with a weird gloop inside the chicken, beek steak in chilli was like a weird soup with really tough beef that was not any hinge like any steak I've eaten.In all just awful and a waste of money

It is irrelevant as to the quality of the food when time and time again they fail with their delivery service. Every couple of months we try again and every time they have let us down, on average being over an hour late. Give them a miss.

The food is,at best, alright. We only ordered from here as it's the only chinese delivery in the order. Ordered from justeat, food arrived but driver hadn't given us two cans of coke we ordered for £2.20 called them back immediately to be told she would send driver back, he never arrived, called next day as i would like a refund for goods not received, asked why I hadn't called straight back, told him i had. He said he would give us our money back if we ordered again. Literally no chance!!!Don't order from here it's terrible service for average food

Absolutely rubbish service and poor customer service attitude, we had no pancakes delivered with the 1/2 of duck, spent 5 mins trying to get through on the phone and then I was put on hold for another 5 mins once I got through while they took an order at the counter. Explained the situation and was told that despite my duck now being cold I would have to wait for my pancakes and would not be given any refund. I was told to call just eat which was basically fobbing me off. Pancakes were never delivered.So try them if you dare and good luck.

Mandarin is a new Chinese take away in Sudbury. We thought we'd give it a try, big mistake!The food was stodgy, every dish seemed to have a jelly like film on the top of the food and they used lazy pre prepared garlic not freshly chopped!Please don't waste your money at Mandarin, if you like Asian food try the Thai Pavilion also located in Sudbury the food is delicious, authentic and fresh.

What a dissapointment, when this first opened it was the best ever Chinese takeaway but what has happened we had one last night and was terrible, mushroom rice stodgy Hong Kong style chicken over cooked pork siszhwan no spice special chow mien brown And stodgy no flavour to anything will not be going back. Where is the lovely lady that took our orders in the shop has she gone back to Earls Colne? Will not be going back.

Having had several good takeaways from this restaurant, the last one I had was awful.They must have changed hands or got a different chef as the food was awful. The special fried rice was dark, over cooked and very little with it. And the Kung pro chicken was again over cooked and too hard to eat. It also had about 3 chillis chopped up with it, Will not be going back.

As far as I am concerned this is definitely the best Chinese in Sudbury - I live in the town centre so can take my pick but since this one opened there is no comparison. Food is always fresh and tasty, service is great - it costs a little bit more but is, without a doubt, worth it! Parking is a nightmare - not a problem for me - but if you don't live within walking distance probably best to get a delivery - You won't be disappointed!

Hallelujah at last a Chinese takeaway that is fantastic and even delivers to a remote village outside of long Melford.The food was delicious, tasty,fresh and the ingredients were of good quality. I am very fussy when it comes to Chinese food, and being a veggie, bored of the same boring stuff. But this is a veggie friendly menu to my delight! I was a bit dubious about getting it delivered due to recent reviews, however it came within 30 minutes of ordering ( and it was a Friday night), the order was correct and the food was hot. Fully recommend this little gem!This will be a regular treat from now on, thankyou Mandarin

Have now used this takeaway three times since it opened. Overall it is good with friendly service over the phone when placing an order. We live in a nearby village, about 6 miles out, so usually pay the couple of quid for delivery which takes about an hour to arrive so order in advance if you are hungry. The food itself is tasty and well cooked and not as bland as some other local Chinese. I would probably have rated it 4 stars apart from having to chase them up on our first order, took over an hour, my son finding a small stone in his food on our second attempt and then on our last order on New Years day not having the seaweed included which was part of the set meal we ordered. Overall good food but issues mentioned rate it as average only, could do better!

The food was the best I have had from a takeaway for many years. Food arrived a little slower than promised, was pipping hot and everything we ordered was lovely. Highly recommend the crispy shredded beef and the ribs with peppercorn and salt, delicious. Will definitely have again, excellent and delivered out to Glemsford.

Ordered a takeaway at 7.55pm Sunday night for 2 people (4 dishes) and was told a delivery time of 45 minutes, so expected delivery by 8.40pm. Delivery didn't arrive until after 9.40pm, including a few chase up calls. When it did turn up the food was barely warm and was 100% below expectation. If we have to wait this long to wait for a delivery and it turns up at this standard we will never be ordering again. The best thing was the prawn crackers - but who can get them wrong? (But then again I'm surprised these guys got them acceptable to be honest!)Won't be ordering from them again.

This is the best chinese food in the area I believe and consistent for collection BUT their deliveries are not good they have missed an item every time on the last 3 deliveries and will always refund or replace but when you want an item.... also from last 3 deliveries they have been 15 mins,30 mins and 50 mins late arriving,but the latest was 15 mins and the driver did ring to let me know he was 10 mins on the drag so to me that was acceptable.

Having lived and worked in China... I am quite fussy when it comes to finding good quality Chinese food in the UK... so I was pleased to discover this little gem which not only offers friendly and efficient service, the food seems to be freshly prepared (unlike some takeaways which simply heat up pre-cooked food) and most importantly, tasty. I was also super pleased to see my favourite "dumplings" on the menu which is a staple of Northern Chinese cuisine. We had the prawn dumplings which were delicious. Next time I will order lots more dumplings as I just love them!!!美味的外卖谢谢 :-)

This very small takeaway is on the south side of Sudbury as you are heading out to Ballingdon on the A131. With luck you may find a car space outside on the main road otherwise there's 28-place free car park at the end of Mill Lane just a minute or so's walk away. The menu is exactly what you would expect to see and the speed of preparation of the food was good. I went in not knowing how the food was because I saw the 5-star food cleanliness sign outside, which is reassuring. There was plenty of stir fry. More than I could eat and I was hungry. Plenty of chicken. Wholesome quality rather than top-notch, but filled a gap at a reasonable price.
