Awful carryout meal cold and unateable complained they were to phone back no reply still waiting would not recommending this place.

Excellent service. There was an issue with my order having gravy when not advertised however they had no problem replacing it when raised.

Fantastic food, staff are lovely, we have sat in and the experience was great, have also got delivery and waits were fair for how busy it can be and the food was piping hot and excellent quality, drivers are lovely as well!

Absolutely terrible customer service. Ordered food for my family and the wrong order came. When called back, the attitude we received on the phone was ridiculous. We gave the order and it was read back to us but when we called, She said we were lying and that we didn’t order it initially. Ridiculous. I would recommend spending hard earned money elsewhere.

Ordering online is a no no, you can wait upto 30 minutes after your collection time and the order is always wrong ( even when you mention to check the order in the comments section). People can come in and order and be served before you as you wait...not great customer service . Food used to be good but seems to have gotten progressively worse.

The meat in the beef and chicken dishes were tough. The flavours were too simple, I could do better myself. Little to no vegetables in the 2 dishes. Won't be back.

Used to be the best place for food in saintfield but in the last 6 months they're either changed the chef or they're cutting corner with ingredients because I can't remember the last time I enjoyed their food. My last order had noodles in it that looked like they'd taken it from a supernoodle pack and the order gave me and my wife food poisoning. Tried to contact them about this and heard nothing so had no choice but to try and be heard here.

Just had a takeaway and must say the quality of the food was very poor. I had shredded beef with chilli and chicken sauce. The sause was tasteless with a consistency and look of strawberry jam. The Fred rice was also tasteless. Save yourself the money and disappointment and avid

Best Chinese around, top class dishes

Fried rice over cooked and all clumped together in one starchy ball. Chicken greasy, burnt and skittery little bits. Sauce like gloop. All in all it’s for the bin. Total disgrace. Going to have some toast instead to save myself from gut rot.

Great if you're coeliac as they have a full Gluten Free menu.

Hard to believe it has been two years since my last visit. Nothing much changed really. You have to walk through the carry out are to get seated at rear. I was duly recorded for covid track and trace and seated at right rear. The special priced menu is off just now. I was not so hungry anyway so I choose shredded beef in peking sauce,but I asked it to be sizzling,as that was not on menu. I had two very small beers. The sizzling plate arrived absolutely hot and smoking. Very nice. The boiled rice portion was far too small. I enjoyed the beef dish and what rice I had. The bill came to £18.00. The small beers were expensive. The two ladies working were friendly and efficient. Perhaps a little loud as the dining area is small. But the food was tasty and I will return.

What happened tonight? Normally think the Lucky Boat is best chinese takeaway in the locality. Ordered Shredded Chicken with Garlic & Chilli Sauce+ Fried Rice & Crispy Peking Duck with Pancakes. Discovered at home no fried rice or any other side with our main. The dish was not something you could eat without rice but we live to far away to make a fried rice round trip. Duck was sliced/diced and sauce like tar. What happened?

We are regulars at this Chinese and its very hit and miss. Tonight I had king prawn chow mein. It was foul ! Most of it went in the bin as the noodles were so Gloopy they were all stuck together and the consistency when in my mouth made feel ill. Also very few prawns with this meal. I don't usually leave a review but after a few bad meals I felt the time had come to speak out !

Tip: in poor weather use the takeaway across the street. They will not require you to wait outside for your order

Just had a take away from The Lucky Boat and the Salt and Chilli chicken was so tough I had to throw it way. It is obviously good quality chicken breast so I have no idea why it comes to the customer the consistency of shoe leather - sorry won’t be back.

This Chinese is one of the few that offer tofu for a non meat alternative and it is fantastic. The constancy is spot on and cooked to perfection. From the various items I have tried I cannot fault any.

Hands down the best Chinese takeaway in Northern Ireland. Recommendation - Honey Chilli Beef. Nothing beats it.

This place used to be amazing, new owners so i find it to be not as good! Multiple times my order had been all sorts of wrong and home is too far away to just come back!

Food was pretty awful, tasted like it had been reheated, duck was super dry and tough, noodles were sticky , Peking sauce could have held a brick it was so thick. would not recommend

Very slow for a carry out service, even when not busy. Had to wait over 25mins for prawn toast!!!!!!!......I'll not be back.

The seated area is behind the carry out counter and front door. I have a cold and was freezing,as no heat was evident. My prawn coctail,was really only shrimps on a rough bed of lettuce,wee bit of cucumber and wee bit of tomato. It was ok. My honey sesame deep fried chicken came soon. It was a good portion size and was swimming in a thin sauce. But it was hot and tasty. Just enough kick off it. Fried rice saw adequate. An oriental young woman and a local girl on duty were friendly. But they did no give me clean cutlery. Overall it is a rough and ready place but worth a visit if you are local. I may if ever in the area call again. Only instant coffee available. Not much privacy with carry out and delivery service going on around. At 18.80 pounds it was reasonably priced for 3 courses with a glass of wine. Thanks again to friendly staff. Place is efficient and clean. Try it.

Always 5 stars. I went in a few nights ago and seen it was very busy so I ordered and got it delivered as I needed to get home. The girls at the counter were very pleasant and helpful.

Never disappoints, staff are helpful and friendly and the food is delicious! I especially love their curries and salted chilli dishes! Highly recommend this small family run business, more support should be shown.

Use to be good... but now 3rd times disappointed. Bought take away food for family. I find it expensive for 3 main. Sauce for duck pancake is missing. Seafood noodles awful, honey chicken strips far far too sweet like I’m eating sugar cubes. All the same of other Chinese restaurants , more concern of profit than quality.

Never again. This is the 3rd times were disappointed of the food. more so today...Chicken honey sesame far too sweet, dry, far too much oil and sauce, was awful. Can't even swallow it. Seafood chow mien ingredients are all frozen that i can buy in asian supermarket for £2, crab sticks that worth 70p a pocket in asda was in it! unbelievable, squid squares are tasteless and hard. Missing sauce of Crispy duck pancakes that worth £7.80 was not worth it. Singapore fried rice was dry, microwaveable rice i guess. Paid £31.20 for an awful food. Bad, bad.

Myself and my husband are regular customers however this evening we had food missing from our order. It has happened before and it’s been resolved which is fine. We don’t mind too much as we understand mistakes happen. Tonight though when we rang to say food was missing, the girl offered to send out the chicken balls. My husband asked if we could get the whole order again and hand back the original as we were sharing and the other food would be cold by the time we would get it. She said she would check and she spoke to the other girl called Jenny who said “how do we know that they are actually missing”. I don’t know if she realised we could hear the conversation but as regular customers we didn’t appreciate her implying we were lying. They reluctantly agreed to send out us the full order again when my husband let them know we could hear them talking about us. Very disappointing as we love the food and recommend it to others all the time. I would appreciate a response to this as I could see no other way of putting in this feedback on your website.

Thought Lucky Boat was just a Carry Out, until I went in and there is a Sit In Restaurant behind. Friendly and helpful service and quick presentation of the Beef and Cashew Nut, with Coconut Rice, which looked nice and tasted good. Nice Restaurant.

Great food but portions our very small ,crossgar Chinese bigger portions but if you would make them bigger we would give the trade lucky boat.!👍

Had carry outs from the lucky boat over the last 25 years. Love it

We had a sit in meal. The restaurant is small but very cozy and with lovely decor. The waitresses were very helpful and friendly. We had the duck and pancakes for starters followed by the king prawn in honey and chilli sauce and beef curry. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. Would highly recommend it and the portions were also a good size.

This is our go to takeaway in Saintfield. King Prawns and seasonal vegetables, Honey chili chicken, and the duck meals are our favourites.

Thai chicken curry is soooo yummy. As is the big standard brown meat chicken curry. Lots of flavour, veg and not gloopy at all. Delivery very prompt usually. Love it.

Last night I ordered takeaway . The fried rice r totally rubished . U can't find egg on rice with looking glass as well. Mostly rice r half cooked. That's really horrible. Whatever other food it's alright.

Having tried the other Chinese takeaway in Saintfield and found the food to be absolutely appalling, we thought this would be much the same... Nope! This has become our regular place to get takeaway and we've always been happy, never had cause for complaint. The food has always been great, the staff pleasant and friendly. Their meal deals and Sun-Thu offers give great value for money too, which is always good. :-)

Every village has a Chinese takeaway, but this one is better than most. Huge selection (including many southeast Asian dishes) and quality ingredients make it a standout.

I ordered take out - it was really poor quality. Watery curry sauce very bland, the chips where still frozen/hard in the middle. Worst Chinese meal. I ordered plain noodles for the kids and they were stuck together and rubbery. I do not advise anyone to order food from here. Very disappointing.

Recently ordered a take away for delivery. Order took just over 50 minutes to arrive. Had ordered a selection of dishes. Have to say I appreciate the food needs to be cooked but we are only 10 minutes away from Saintfield and it is obvious the food was with the driver for some time as the food was cold. Mainly the chips but as we continued to eat we all agreed the food was cold. I know we should have rang at that stage but to be honest after waiting for just under an hour we were too hungry and ate what we could. A few comments on the food. Chicken curry was quite green in colour and had like a perfume after taste defo not what I would call a Chinese curry also the sweet and sour hong kong style which is normally small pieces of chicken was rather large chunks that were impossible to cut with a knife even after resorting to a steak knife it proved troublesome to cut. Overall would not go back very disappointing

We most recently visited here last Monday evening, late on, for a hasty meal after a long day. Since we were last in, the place has had a facelift. The place looks a lot cosier and brighter due to the new orange theme. The complementary prawn crackers are now served in a fresh wicker basket, not the sticky plastic basket-shaped ones from before. The menu has such a large variety to choose from, the only thing The Lucky Boat lacks would be fresh fish such as monkfish and seafood like mussels, which are available in some of the Chinese restaurants in Belfast. As a seafood lover, my favourite and reccommended dish on the menu would be Jumbo Prawns with Honey and Tomato sauce. It's like a more sophisticated version of a sweet and sour sauce. We think it's worth coming from Belfast to eat here, food is always good, and the staff are always attentive and obliging. And it's worth checking their website, it's always up-to-date and they always run good offers.

We've had several meals from here. Food is always very tasty and freshly prepared.There are lots of healthy choices on the menu as well which is always a bonus.Chilli sesame chicken is excellent if you are stuck for a choice!

Lovely hot tasty food, excellent choice and specials on for sit in. Service was quick and big portions, we left feeling very full, £25 for 3 course and a couple of glasses of wine or soft drinks - we will certainly go back. I must add that restaurant is in Saintfield, a Ballynahinch Postcode but its 6 miles from Ballynahinch.

I have been a customer of the lucky boat for years and no other chinese in the locality can live up to the quality of the food and the standard of the staff. I have never been disappointed with the food I have recieved and would recommend it to anyone.
