Lockdown Bakehouse in Wandsworth

Always a great experience at Lockdown. The food is exceptional and very well priced. The service is great and very friendly. Flat white was a bit cold this time (served in a different mug to usual?) but other than that as great as usual!

A great coffee and hearty breakfast bun which was very nice but a bit underseasoned when we asked for a veggie version, presumably because the bacon was supposed to bring the salt kick. A busy, active vibe (Sat morning). Would come again.

When the Corn Fritters and B&E pies are on the menu my word what a treat!!!! Great coffee made but also great selection of beans to buy. As an antipodean this place talks to my soul.

Just adore everything about LDB. The products are just amazing, the sourdough…OMG the sourdough! The breakfast menu is just gorgeous. I don’t live near a branch and just so thankful that my wonderful local deli stocks your wares! I have however, got on a train to visit your Wandsworth branch when the deli (Deli by Dirty Crunch) was closed for a well earned holiday. Small business need to receive the love and I am happy to do that.

My husband and I have been coming here since it first opened up in Wandsworth Town and it’s our favorite weekend spot! From the pastries to the bread to the yummy brunches, we never go wrong choosing this place on our mid morning stroll. Favorite things have to be the coffee, dipped cinnamon buns, and the Aussie sando/steak flatbread!

One of the best brunch spots going, staff are super welcoming and hospitable, giving you the chance to escape the hustle and bustle over some top tier food and coffee. Wandsworth’s finest.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Walked in expecting a nice meal—walked out questioning my life choices. The food tasted like it had been made during actual lockdown and left to age like a fine disappointment. The manager? Oh boy. If customer service was an Olympic sport, this guy wouldn’t even qualify. Rude, dismissive, and somehow managed to make me feel bad for spending money in his establishment. Impressive. But the real entertainment? His responses to reviews. It’s like watching a toddler throw a tantrum with a keyboard. I can already see his reply: “Sorry you feel that way, maybe you should learn to cook at home instead!” Save your money, your taste buds, and your sanity. Go literally anywhere else.

Incredible selection of pastries and baked goods, (timtam doughnuts are a new fav!). Good coffee, friendly staff. Their hash browns are unmatched too. Definitely a Wandsworth highlight, looking forward to visiting more over the sunnier months

I found Lockdown Bakehouse during, well, lockdown and would walk there from home to get a donut before my government-sanctioned walk along the river. I now live the complete opposite side of London but will regularly drop in whenever I’m in the area. The food is 10/10, drinks the same and the staff are hugely friendly and knowledgeable and can help with those undecided about what to buy. Such a success story and I strongly advise everyone who lives close by to a branch to drop in.

If you are in the Wandsworth Town area lockdown Bakehouse is a must. Awesome Pastries and a sexy brunch Menu. I went for my standard caramel Latte and the Sausage Patty ( Fried egg, American cheese, chilli Jam on a brioche bun) 😍

I've been there for lunch a few times, and I've always liked the lunch, but the last two times, I saw food being touched and shaped with a hand without a glove, which disgusted me. After all, utensils were invented many years ago, and it would be desirable to use them. If I wanted my food to be touched by hand, I would go to India... I am answering to you here as I didn't see other option. The funny thing is there is nothing racist in my review, the main point was hygiene. You are insulting Europeans by changing our culture, shall I also start eating with hands? That's normal in India. Also in this country people are allowed to change their gender and what's the problem by changing my name ? Is there anything else you would like me to explain to you, so you can justify your changing of topic and avoiding the hygenic european rules ?

LDBH is a lovely stop on the way to work, with a vast selection of very tasty pastries and cakes, at very reasonable prices, and good coffee. I look forward to trying it for lunch too.

Bakehouse OG at Wandsworth is great ! I’m lucky it’s my local. When it first opened in lockdown I remember popping in when they were just a tiny little outlet and having their gorgeous custard slices. I wish they would bring those back! The staff and the food is great. Recently, Ihad the BEC (Bacon, egg and cheddar on brioche) It was absolutely delicious. I asked for the bacon well done and it was perfect ! I really hope they move to the old Konnigans (sadly closed down due to the owner passing) Bakehouse would really do the place justice. No more large chains on old York road please !!!

Going into the Lockdown Bakery on a Saturday morning is like walking onto the set of Friends in London. Heaps of happy chatty 30-somethings with their dogs having brunch and drinking great coffee. There’s a queue out the door, patient customers waiting for a table. Clearly something is very good here! Take-away service is fast, the cakes and pasties are outstanding, laid out for selection & self service. We had almond croissants and cronuts, both delicious. Coffee was as you’d expect: very good. Sadly I neglected to take a photo…

Fab cheap prices , delicous fresh baked goods and banging brunch!

Small but mighty - used to be my local bakery and I miss it. All their pastries are spot on, and the new seating area is lush. Would recommend their cardamom buns and doughnuts.

Our favourite local coffee shop and bakery! My only wish is that they had more veggie options rotating on their seasonal menu.

Only downside is it's a tad cold, but still great coffee and service.

Often pick up some sweet treats here, it's a confident buy

Love the doughnuts they’re so good. I’ve been here a few times and I’m glad to see it’s grown a lot. Lots of baked goods and different things on the weekend to choose from. I recommend following their insta to see if there’s anything you fancy before going down.

The pastries are good, but the food for lunch is hit and miss. I write reviews only if I am very happy or very disappointed and in this case I got the worst stomach pain from their lunch menue and similar thing happened with my friend eating there few weeks ago ...

This is a cute, laid back, competitively priced local eatery that serves excellent food. I can tell the owner and staff really care about the area and want to make the experience as nice possible for the community. Having this place feels like a community bolthole on a busy high street. The food is far better than the competition in the area, and has good coffee to boot. I like that the seating is swift and on a first-come-first-served basis which eliminates the faff of having to book and turn up at a precise time. I've been here every weekend since it opened and it has gotten better and better each time as the staff settle in.

I am so happy this place has opened in Earlsfield. They bake the most delicious bread and pastries and their takeaway meals have saved my postpartum messy days. Staff is always friendly and lovely. Almost going every day at this point! They are the best!

Probably the best bakery we’ve come across in London. The lamingtons are insanely fluffy and light, the sausage roll is better than any I used to have back home in Sydney and the sourdough loaf & baguette are as good as those we’ve had in France (we say that confidently as my partner is French & a bona fide bread snob). Pity we don’t live in the area but if the owner sees this review, please could you leave a reply and let us know which cafes/outlets in the Kensington/Holland Park/Earls Court area sell your loaves and lamingtons? We were passing through and looking for lunch. After bypassing the usual suspects we found this gem in Balham Hill, Clapham. The service was quick and friendly and food delicious. The best focaccia sandwich we have ever had and a greek salad the best we have had outside of Greece. Value for money was great. Pity we don’t live near any of their outlets which means we are not going to have much opportunity to use them again.

Lockdown bakehouse are our neighbourhood fave. They have the cheapest and most delicious flat white in Wandsworth. Alternative milks are free, and I can never pass up the opportunity to grab a sweet treat from the cabinet. The lovely team clearly put their heart and soul into this place.

So glad I stumbled upon Lockdown Bakehouse. Knock out eggs benny and superb coffee. I loved being able to watch the chef put my plate together. Highly recommend. Excellent service.

Bread and pastries are good and we had been here a few times for that but we decided to have brunch for the 1st time and it was very disappointing. Everything lacked seasoning. Corn fritters taste like flour, hash browns were crispy and had rosemary but no seasoning. Overall I was underwhelmed and would give 2 stars for the food but the bread is good.

Very bad experience. They should have been suppliers for our business. Before opening, they wrote to us without explanation that they would not be our suppliers. Very unprofessional approach.

We used Lockdown bakehouse for wholesale pies for a pool party during our wedding weekend as I wanted a southern hemisphere pie as tribute to my Kiwi heritage. The team were incredibly helpful when I was enquiring and everyone raved about the pies - a complete success and I am very glad to have found lockdown bakery. Thanks so much!

Great little local bakery, I bought the charcoal bread here a few times which inspired me to try and make my own cause I'd never had it before. Next time I went in i asked if i could take a a bit of starter away in a jam jar cause i know after working in bakeries myself that a lot is wasted but the lady behind the counter explained that it was not possible due to health and safety guidelines and insurance which is unfortunate but understandable. Thank you for the inspiration! I hope your bakery continues to add to the authentic local environment culture ;)

Their bacon roll on sourdough may be one of the best sandwiches I've had in my life.

Wow, what a find! Nestled just behind/parallel to Old York Road, friendly staff & nice selection of pastries. I fancied something savoury so opted for a Honey & Mustard Sausage Roll, accompanied by an oat cappuccino = delicious! Also has an extended restaurant/seating area, offering more substantive meals - looking forward to trying this out.

Everyone deserves a second chance, and I'm glad I gave one to Lockdown Bakehouse. On my first visit, I tried two pies, and frankly, I did not like them at all. Initially, I thought I was over the bakehouse, but I've been on a number of occasions since, and I've concluded the stellar reputation is warranted. The doughnuts, the cakes (particularly the Almond cake), and more have been phenomenal. I'm unsure which sandwich I had (it's pictured), but I still think about it almost 2 weeks after last trying it. Personally, I much preferred the Almond cake to the walnut cake. The Almond cake was moist and delicious, whereas the walnut cake was rather dry. My recommendation is to try the sweet treats, and the sandwiches avoid the pies.

So glad we finally made the trip the lockdown bakehouse, amazing setting, 5 star coffee , delicious bakes and welcoming staff. Can't wait to revisit

Have had lovely coffee and cake to take away on a few occasions but tried the weekend brunch for the first time today. Delicious food, great value, super friendly staff and great chilled out atmosphere. Looking forward to another opportunity to visit!

The weekend pastry run starts at Lockdown. Amazing ever changing selection (and the regulars). Pastries and bread are super fresh and flavoursome, Pain Suisse is one of my favourites so when it’s available try it. Get there early as this place gets BUSY esp weekends. Thanks lockdown for producing great bakery items at very good prices.

Everything I order from Lockdown Bakehouse is always great. The coffee and croissants here are some of the best I’ve had. Also want to mention how in this day of inflated prices, lockdown bakehouse has maintained reasonable and fair prices for their coffees.

Had a gorgeous chicken pie here. There was a small queue around lunch time. There's a big covered seating area next door. Pastries looked appealing, doughnuts, Victoria slices, cookies. Next time I'll try the apple sausage roll.

Staff were welcoming. Coffee was great unfortunately the pasties were not to our taste they were bland. We bought a white sliced bread which was absolutely tasteless, I could get the very same from my local Sainsbury’s. We will stick to Ole&Steen

I bought a bag full of croissants and pain au chocolats for myself and some friends I was staying with this morning and they were amazing. The americano I had was also fantastic. 100% recommend - I’ve been thinking about their food and coffee all day!

Love to see another pandemic business thriving! Great selection of bread, sweet baked goods and other deli items. The Anzac biscuit was particularly delicious and syrupy.

Their baked goods are incredible. I regularly come back for the pain aux chocolate, croissant, and (when I'm lucky) the pain aux raisin - that one is absolutely out of this world, and the best baked good I have ever had in my life. I am sure of it! I've also had the lemon poppy-seed muffin (exceptional) and some of their specials on a weekend. It's never failed me for a baked good! Only thing that sucks in the coffee - I'm just not a fan (have tried oat flat white and oat cappuccino), there are better places to get coffee for sure. But no better place for a pastry.

After coming across Lockdown Bakehouse in my search for some doughnuts, I finally got round to going here and this little gem did not disappoint. I got two pistachio creme doughnuts for myself and hubs which were yummy. I also ordered a decaf black forest coconut latte which was roasted well and full of flavour, I'd go as far as saying it's one of the best I've had to date. I would highly recommend Lockdown Bakehouse and will be back again soon to try out their other goodies.

Had a sausage roll early one morning. Probably one of the best ones I've ever had. Can't look at one from Gregg's the same way ever again!

Had an iced vanilla latte, it was delicious and the lady that took my order was very sweet

Very average. Had honey mustard sausage roll and chicken & bacon baguette. The bread was dry and tough, I ended up eating the chicken etc and threw out the bread. Not great for a bakery. The sausage roll had no flavour. Would have been better going to pret.

Live 5 minutes away and it’s the best bakery/ cafe in the area by far; it’s particularly far ahead on the baked goods. No where has doughnuts half as good, and the sourdough is top notch.

A delightful little pop-up place right in the center of town. Tasty and very affordable food. The waitress informed us that they don't have to pay rent because it is a pop up place, allowing them to pass on the savings to their customers. A heartfelt thank you to them for providing such great food at low prices.

Great bakery and patisserie hidden on a backstreet not far from the train station. I really enjoyed the granary sourdough bread and the flaky custard and berries pastry. They make excellent coffee as well. There is plenty for you to choose from, sausage rolls, cheese toast from the beautiful bread they make on the spot, and lots of different pastry options. It's hard to choose which one to get. Everything is well made, they take things seriously. There are a few tables outside and if you are lucky also parking outside. I will definitely come back again.

The best pain au chocolat in London but go early or risk missing out

MVP of Wandsworth, you’re missing out if you haven’t been here yet. I’ve tried many coffee/brunch spots in Wandsworth and surrounding areas and you’ll be hard pushed to find a better place that delivers on quality, value and customer service. So lucky to have this place on my doorstep, the baked goods taste divine and there’s lots to choose from. Highly recommend the danish pastries, sausage rolls, banana bread and chocolate chip cookies.

Amazing bakery. every time I'm in the area I have lunch there and try something new. Both the savory stuff and the desserts are great and so fresh . what I don't like is that there are no prices and no explanation of the food and I have to ask the girl who is very nice to explain to me
