Locanda in West Somerset

We stayed one night in a gorgeous sea view room. We dined like kings, the food & drink exquisite, mostly local & homegrown. We shall be back!

A truly amazing taste experience, so much more that a meal out. Beautiful setting matched by the presentation of the food offered. We went on one of the tasting menu evenings and were not disappointed, each course was truly superb and fully explained by the very courteous and friendly staffing team. The emphasis is rightly on locally produced produce, with quality and flavour being the priority, definitely will be returning.

We visited Locanda on the Weir for a special meal with friends. It was like being invited for dinner in someone's beautiful home with drinks first in the comfortable bar and then through two the thoughtfully spaced dining room for one of the most delicious tasting menus we have ever had. The flavours were unusual, intense and the combinations inspired. They were also very welcoming to our cocker spaniel.

The restraint does one sitting a day, everyone has the same menu, (unless diet dictates otherwise), the food, wine, decor, service are unique and exceptional. The food is so fresh, and original, much if it comes from the garden. Our zucchini flower was picked that day with home made ricotta , made that day, them broad beans in the salad were picked Jess than any hour before we ate them. This is a family business, the restaurant is full of beautiful art and original furniture. A total treat. Not for kids! This is in the treat bracket.

Fantastic italian food in stylish surroundings. Run by a charming husband and wife combo. Good wine list. The pasta dishes we had were fantastic. As was the torta chiocolata!

Were unable to stay as fully booked .We came down to Porlock Weir at short notice but were able to eat there one evening .Meal was delicious and service and care of customer was wonderful as usual. This is a great place and do try to stay here if you can.We are inclined to see a good forecast and then plan a visit at short notice so often can’t get in !

We were served excellent prepared food by the chef-proprietor. Original, made with local products and beautifully presented. Wine also delicious. Could not be better.

Some of the best Italian food I've had outside of Italy. Pizzas were very good, and a decent wine list. Recommend a drink in the bar area before you eat

There was a hiccup on the booking, but all out right straight away and a cocktail on the house. Great Italian food cooked and prepared with passion. Laid back and eclectic interior which added to the atmosphere and warm welcome and we could take the dog .

Such a amazing hotel, owners and staff so friendly Rooms and decor amazing, views to die for And the food is out of this world , never realised breakfast could be so tasty. Here’s to many more stays at this amazing place . The, Vallis,s and gillotts

Well thought out and delicious cuisine, at the higher end of the market. There is a pizza and pasta menu as well as the main menu. Imaginative food with a leaning towards Italian dishes. Some of the choices are born from recipes that have been in the family for a\ long time.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner here, with the friendly and enthusiastic owner/chef and his wife. The restaurant and rooms have been completely remodelled and redecorated, and although we did not stay, we enjoyed the ambiance and the gorgeous pictures in the restaurant. Mid price, but excellent quality and value for money.
