Great little place, friendly staff, not a huge menu but very excellent food… and cocktails! Definitely worth a visit

Before I write this, background......I have travelled extensively through Mexico, so maybe my expectations were too high. I ordered nachos with pulled pork, side of guac and a smoothie. I had to ask for the guac, hence the low score on service. The nachos were so bland and portion was tiny, I hate to say that I can get better at a supermarket. Smoothie was watery and nothing special....the only good bit was the guac, however a thimble sized portion for £3? I had to double check I had the right place, as my experience doesn't align with the amazing reviews.

Fantastic! Easily the freshest and best tasting Mexican food I’ve experienced in the uk - don’t hesitate!

Great food (and margaritas) and really friendly service. We were made to feel very welcome and could quite easily return time again for a taste of everything else on the menu, but I would probably keep getting swayed towards the specials. Great addition to Hexham.

Found this little restaurant when staying near Hexham. Beautiful and best mexican food ever had, very nice authentic cocktails. We had nachos, burritos and churros, all very tasty. Highly recommended and will definitely eat there again when in the area.

Lovely food, well worth going out of your way to go for a meal there! The veggie burritos and nachos are particularly tasty, servings quite big. Daniel & co are lovely human beings!

The best Mexican food I've had in the UK. The guacamole is delicious with lots of fresh avocado and tomatoes. Had the three taco meal and the carnitas (pulled pork) was well seasoned and tender. It was clear all ingredients were fresh. Even watched them make tortillas! Everything was flavorful and seasoned without being spicy. The staff are friendly and warm.

Great food, amazing cocktails, food made to order, piping hot super tasty and incredibly good value. Nothing to complain about. If you haven't been, why not? An absolute gem in the centre of Hexham.

Great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner a must for some good hearty food and drinks. Tacos unreal

Really nice meal. The waiter (I think owner) explained the menu and made suggestions. The waitress too our order and asked us what sort of heat we liked. All in all a very nice experience.

Brilliant service by Coco and Will. I had the tacos with beef, chicken and pork and I think out of the 3 the fajita chicken was my favourite. Wife had the quesadilla with beef which she loved. The smoothie was also fantastic and you got quite a bit for the price. Best mexican we've been to!

Food was amazing and totally fresh, staff were really friendly and helpful. Totally decorated out for Halloween when we visited 10/10 for effort.

Came in with our one year old. They laid on a special meal for them to try. Great service, atmosphere and food.

We had a great time eating new flavours of delicious food and tried some cactus! our host Coco made the meal fun and we enjoyed chatting!

I'm gluten and dairy free so it's hard to find places to eat when I'm out. This place was fantastic! I was shown what I could have, and went doe the tags as they use corn and make them fresh so they what's in them. Friendly atmosphere and awesome staff, have been back a few Times and always a pleasure.

Little Mexico was recommended by a friend so we went for lunch. It smelled wonderful from outside. Lovely little place. Got a seat in the window. Coco is very enthusiastic about his menu and service. We chose a mixed platter with two tacos, two burritos and nachos. Washed down with a cold beer. We managed to incorporate all the different filling options in our meal. All we're tasty, authentic and filling. We finished with churros which were fab too. All round lovely lunch, great place, good staff. We will be back.

We had the most wonderful service and food here! The staff were amazing with our children too which made the whole experience even better. So glad we found it, thank you for a brilliant meal! Highly recommend

Four of us were looking for somewhere to eat today in Hexham and found this little gem. Amazing food and service, all at a reasonable price. If I could give it 6 stars I would!!

This is the best mexican food I've had this side of the Atlantic. It's authintic. The margaritas are amazing and don't be afraid to go with the most spicy when asked, IMO it's just the right amount of heat. Update: Have come back twice since first review and we still love it. I would sign up for cooking lessons if offered. Sooo good 😊

I Love this little gem of an eatery in Hexham. Some flavour and colour to brighten my day. The fresh juices are really nourishing and delicious too.

Glad I found this place on my day out today. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food and drink was delicious. I had the beef brisket burrito with a side of guacamole. To drink I had the refresher, which is made from cucumber and pineapple.

Just visited here on the way back to Newcastle for some lunch, staff was extremely friendly and the food was great, good value too! Even got a free salsa lesson haha definitely recommend

First time at Little Mexico and we loved it. Started with cocktails and then shared the Classic Platter with our choice of fillings for the Burritos and Tacos. Fantastic food and service and couldn't eat it all so brought 2 burritos home for lunch today. Will be back and also given us another take out option for food in Hexham.

If I could give more than 5* I would. Absolutely the best Mexican I have been to in the UK. Really nice atmosphere with nice restaurant area and lovely authentic decor. Owner is a really nice and chatty guy who seems keen to do anything he can to make the visit great. Was super flexible with dietary options and explained the whole menu to us and gave his recommendations. Food was really quick and tasted absolutely amazing. Can’t praise it high enough! If you’re in town.. definitely worth a visit!

Currently in the area on holiday and popped in for lunch. Absolutely amazing food - I don’t think I can go back to shop bought tortilla chips now. Lovely staff and relaxed vibe. Will definitely try and visit again before we go home

This a lovely independent restaurant. The ingredients are great, food is consistently delicious, prices are fair and there is something for all tastes if you enjoy Mexican food. The owner always makes you feel welcome and goes above and beyond. A firm favourite of my family.

Arranged two nights stay in Northumberland for my wife's birthday ,booked little mexico for our evening meal , owner Daniel went the extra mile to welcome and serve us with some excellent Mexican food and cocktails. They went the extea mile with celebrating her birthday. Jo the waitress and the rest of the staff were amazing. Couldn't recomend this place enough

Disappointed, after reading some reviews we thought this would be a nice treat for a takeaway but found it lacking in flavour. I really like good Mexican food, but this wasn't it. The extra spicy salsa had very little heat, just some Chipotle chilled (but at least there was flavour). The guacamole was distinctly lacking. Ordered online but that didn't eork do when we went to collect it wasn't ready the waitress was rude and blamed us glfor not knowing but the owner was really nice and rushed to order so we didn't wait too long.

Food was good but felt like more of a takeaway place tbh we were in and out in 20 mins

I wish I could give this little gem more than 5 stars! The chef's use of spices and the freshest ingredients is absolute genius. We visited this charming little restaurant for our anniversary and I can honestly say that we have never had better Mexican food in our lives. The staff is most accommodating when it comes allergies and nothing is too much. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed, with authentic music, vibrant artwork on the walls and amusing placements of traditional sombreros.

This place is great, the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable about their food. We had a very reasonably priced lunch which was delicious. The Burritos were fantastic and you should try the Mexican coffee.

Fresh food and a good atmosphere. Something different in the town.

First time at a mecican eatery so wasn’t sure what to order so we got the burrito,tacos and nachos to try, very tasty but very filling had to bring some out with us as couldn’t eat it all, the only thing I would say is the cheese sauce on the nachos could of been a tad thicker, lovely little place very quirky and lovely staff and the cocktails very good will definitely go back the next time we are in Hexham

Delicious Mexican food in nice surroundings with lovely staff. The chicken burrito is luscious - pulled chicken that comes spicy or non-spicy. Really nice and filling and great value. We love going with our young daughter.

Lush food I'm not big on Mexican food but this place has hooked me loved the coffee lovely little place amazing food great service.

I've never had Mexican food before and I shall definitely come back. Really delicious lunch. Only coffee available is a cinnamon flavoured black sweet coffee which I liked. We will be back. Friendly staff too.

Popped in here, on our road trip to Cumbria, for a brunch. Quesedillas were delightful, one beef one veggie. Everything was totally fresh and the place is absolutely beautiful. A great addition to the town's eateries. Oh, the Moroccan Magic smoothie... Stupendous! Will call in on our way back.

Independent mexican restaurant. Typical mexican fare, very reasonably priced. Very much enjoyed the burrito and the quesedilla. The nachos were very good but the yellow cheesy sauce it was served with let it down a bit.

What a fantastic place. Just had lunch to celebrate our anniversary. Amazing welcome from extremely friendly and attentive staff. The food was perfect, super tasty and fresh, would have happily sat in there drinking their cocktails all night. What a great atmosphere, we'll definitely be back. Lovely food, not packet stuff you get at some chain Mexican restaurants. Chairs are a little hard.

Very authentic Mexican, we were super impressed by how great the burritos and tacos tasted. The tacos looked to be freshly made, there's a machine on the counter they use to press them and the rest of the ingredients were fresh. Quite possibly the best burritos and tacos we've ever had. We'll be back next time we are in Hexham.

Fantastic venue. Good selection, delicious food, friendly staff and a real authentic vibe. I had a beef burrito and I only wish I could eat more, I'll be back. Owner seems like a cool dude too.

First visit to a Mexican restaurant. Really good with great staff

Amazing, fresh food, fast service and very accommodating. Was with kids at tea time so We just had food, but it also looks like it could be a nice spot to pop in for a cocktail with its nine thirty closing time. Only a small place so I'd advise booking. We were very lucky and took a chance. Definitely going to go again without kids.

We loved our first visit to this little restaurant! Food was amazing, so fresh, authentic and full of flavour.. nothing like the so called Mexican food you get from the chains! They were busy but can't fault the service, we were well looked after. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Hexham, can't wait to try their cocktails!🙂
