Got chips n curry sauce b4 a doctors appointment, chips were cold and the curry sauce tasted of nothing!, absolutely nothing like the last time I went six months ago. Wont be going back again!

Went here for a family dinner with my dad and fiancé the food taste amazing but the portions are really small and the prices are really bad for a small chippy in Oldham I got a bone in my steak pudding and they took my details for Holland’s to get in touch great food just need to get a decent portion for what you charge

Got a portion of chips to eat out. They tasted vile don't know if the oil needed changing or if they were using cheap oil. Have given them a try several times now but always awful. Thing they use cheap oil cos several times now can taste a funny taste. Need a good chippy in town. Won't be going again.

The first thing any self respecting traveller wants on returning from a period abroad is "proper chips" Not frozen ,not French fries ,not wedges but delicious ,tasty ,traditional ,northern chips .Throw in a Hollands pie or steak pudding and you instantly forget how depressing Oldham centre can look on a cold,rainy,mid-week tea-time .Friendly staff ,generous portions and chips of the highest quality .As good as it gets for any chip connoisseur.The wonderful memories of Nellie Baileys on Barker St .and Jimmy Etchells opposite the old pit on Hollins Rd live on. Congratulations, Levers - a real treat .

Regularly order our fish and chips from here on Just Eat, delivery on time and good quality every time. Yes, probably had better named fish, but the chips are fresh, not frozen and you get lots so you can freeze chips you don't eat and they are even better second time round when you put in oven and crisp up direct from frozen. We have tried to do this with chips from various chippies, but none reheat as good as Levers. We never buy oven chips now cos they are so good ! Delivery always on the time you set and we will continue to order in the future whenever our chip stock is low ! Eddie n Christine

Went to pick up food for tea, Portions not consistent and way too small for the £5.20 you pay. Won’t be going back there in a hurry again. Will have to go to Armstrong’s in shaw

We was in town been a long time because of covid 19 anyway it was such a lovely day we decided to visit the chippy for lunch I did enjoy it hadn't had for some time and of course its still outdoors but with tables and chair's soon hopefully we will eat again inside because I m sure the weather isn't always kind

Its so brilliant we have a great chippy to order from during the day when you need your chippy fix!! Always on time!! Polite delivery driver all the time!! Portion sizes great!! Their chips and gravy is amazing always a must get... Will always use and are never disappointed:-)

I go around once a month and the staff are always courteous, helpful and friendly. They help the old folk who go in to their table and give lollies to the youngsters on the way out. The fish is large and the batters very light and crispy, plenty of chips and mushy peas. Prices comparable to take outs and the food always arrives hot and within a few minutes of ordering.

Had a horrible experience with the old lady that I think owed the business, she was very rude to my kids which made all my family very uncomfortable and decided to leave before even finishing lunch . The food wasn't good value for money the place is dirty. As a local I would definitely be telling my friends and family to stay away.

Two days after visiting a high end restaurant in Manchester city centre i visited Oldham to buy from the Market. I had lunch at Levers Fish and Chip shop in the Market Hall. A standard chippy dining room as well as next door a takeaway.There is a choice of fish as well as Hollands puddings and pies, which are to my mind, unbeatable. Fast, efficient, friendly service. Hollands Steak and Kidney pudding with a generous helping of freshly cooked chips with a pot of tea at £5.40, is good value for money.

My son and I live in Oldham and visit this little gem of a chippy. Ample tables to sit available up and down stairs. Very clean and the meals are piping hot. Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We always enjoy our meals here and would recommend it to anyone visiting Oldham.

Visited with my friend for lunch. I had fish, chips and mushy peas and it was great. It’s reasonably priced and there’s seating outside if you want to eat sat down on the tables. There’s also the option to eat inside in the restaurant seating, however this costs extra and isn’t as reasonably priced.

Levers has been serving fantastic great value chippy meals for years! If you are after a good value, freshly prepared meal then Levers Chip Shop based in the Market Hall is the place to visit. Always great service and the staff are friendly and attentive. Keep up the good work!

Food was great and cheap had the fish and chip special kids enjoyed there meals aswell sausage and chips and pie and chips only negative is the seats are so close to other people when you are eating but would eat here again when we visit oldham

I popped in to Levers fish & chip shop for lunch. This is your quintessential English fish & chips ( run and owned by a `Greek gentleman) there are two sides to the chip shop, takeaway or eat in, the eat in is a traditional 'cafe' chip shop, the service is fast and the menu is what you would expect form this type of restaurant.

I eat here everytime we go to do some shopping, the food here is amazing the curry source is really tasty and always right on consistently! I'd go ther forever the staffs are lovely too good polite manners. I'd recommend to try this place folks if your around in Oldham town centres.

Commonly known as fritters or scallops but locals often refer to these babies as 'specials' - I was introduced them some 40+ years ago & they're still as good today as they were then. £1.75 gets you 5 a meal in themselves - if you have nothing else to eat in Oldham town centre you must try these - mmmmmm!

The best fish and chips in the area lovely place to eat. We always go when we have the chance. If your in Oldham you have to try it.

The fish is 9 out 10 times the best fish around chips very good most of the time peas have been not too warm a few times but a great chippie only trouble is price has gone up so much l go in as frequently as l used to.

2nd visit here was served straightaway, staff was polite, food is a bit greasy and can smell the grease on hands, the battered cod fish has more coating than fish, so not worth the £2.90, the food is ok but I wouldn't purchase food from here again

Legendary levers has been around for some time. Living in Rochdale born and bread visit Oldham town centre quite often since childhood days till now and always like to stop and sit in at levers for a quick fish chips and mushy peas. The food is great prices are average you get what you paid for chips and curry is lush as well as the fish and chips I'm going this Saturday with family to Oldham market on Saturday will certainly be stopping over at levers with them all :)

In Oldham for the day to pick something up from a shop,not from the area,wanted a tasty quick sit down lunch,we walked in and a very rude old man in a white overall said to my son you cannot come in here with that,it was an energy drink as when we arrived in Oldham he was not feeling too good,I was ready for walking out when one of the lady waitresses said its ok just put it to the end of the table,and she told the man that he cannot keep saying that to people so we stayed,thank you to that lady she was very pleasant,what does it matter we still bought a drink each,ordered fish+chips,haddock+chips,curry sauce,and 2 glasses of pop,a different waitress brought the food and just put them down on the table without telling us which was the cod and which was the haddock???not very good service so called her back to ask her,the food was hot fresh and tasty,I think it came too £12:85,food was very good not huge portions,customer service and manners of SOME of the staff could be better,but most were pleasant.

Fantastic fish and chips ' all freshly made batter to die for, you can even tell them what batter you want light or crispy , staff very helpful , and vey quick service .

This is a fabulous sit down chippy. The kids meals are cheaper and substantial enough for adults and beautiful too. Our visit was made one to remember but the girls waiting on who were lovely and attentive to my young twins. But a special mention for the gentleman who welcomes everyone, young and old, with a cheery word and attention to the little ones. Bravo, you are top of the table at what you do. Thanks for a memorable lunch.

I really the like the friendly welcome that everyone gets in this place, and there's usually space despite its popularity. The prices are keen, and most of the food is good. I thought the batter on my fish was too thick.

I would recommend Levers to anyone wanting a lovely hearty chip shop dinner in a nice friendly environment. There's always plenty of seats with seating upstairs as well.I've never waited longer than a few minutes for my meal and can honestly say I have never had a bad meal from here.You won't be disappointed

Popped in here for the first time. What hit me instantly was how friendly the staff were, even those on their break and how they seemed to know all the customers and the customers knew each other, it was a bit like being in someones kitchen which is a lovely thing.A older gentleman who i think might be the owner made such a fuss of my baby daughter and was very welcoming. unfortunately my daughter is allergic to wheat and dairy so she could not have the fish but they were very accommodating with the fact i had to give her something i had made from home and she did enjoy the chips we shared with her.The food was served very quickly and the cod was lovely and fresh tasting. it was nice and flakey in a beautiful crisp batter, seriously one of the best i have had in a while. For £6.75 we got the lunch special of cod, chips, peas, bread and butter and a drink which was very good value i thought.Its a shame we do not live closer so we can pop for a take out but most certainly worth a visit just for this!

Cone of chips is best value at 90p takeaway. However eating in is a rare one for me as it gets very expensive but quick service. Food is excellent but I advise takeaway and eat it on a bench nearby for nearly half the price of sitting in.

We were out for a trip to oldham househunting and stumbled across the market and the delicious smell of fish and chips.We used the cafe section of Levers the staff are fast efficient and friendly, the food came quickly tasted fresh and delicious.The place is very busy with local customers and i would recommend a visit if you're in the area

Leavers has been in the town for many years. It has a good reputation, and you can eat in or out. I don't often eat fish & chips, but when I do fancy it, Leavers is the place (plaice) to visit.

This chippy has consistently been my favourite . It is a bit awkward getting to but it is worth it . Also the gallery if its still there does a nice chips and gravy . Love em both

went shopping in Oldham with my husband and son and decided to call in leavers, my son and myself had fish and chips my husband had cheese and onion pie and chips, the fish was superb it was so fresh the batter was light and tasty the chips were good and the tea was nice and strong good value for money all three meals two cups of tea and a coke came to £16-70 the portions were generous too will call again.

I called in just on an off chance and was pleasantly surprised. The food and atmosphere was very good and the staff were friendly enough. The only real criticism was that the price of the coke was a bit pricy for the amount you got.

The place to go I oldham for a perfect sit down with fish n chips. Service quick and with a smile. Good value for money.

Called here for lunch on a very damp Saturday! Lovely lightly battered fish & chips! Very pleasant friendly staff and good cup of tea too!

A busy fish and chip restaurant in the very centre of the town's market place. Staff are friendly and efficient. A take away service adjoins the restaurant. The food is very good and quite reasonably priced. 'Specials' are available, these are deep fried potato slices - a local delicacy.Look out for the blue plaque outside the restaurant which commemorates the first chips being fried in Oldham around 1860- the start of the British culinary institute.

This chip shop has been here for as long as i Can remember , good choice of menu all of which is filling and of good quality , eat in or Take out the choice is yours , but i recommend highly ;you wont be disapointed and it wont break the bank

Not much has changed in the past 15 years , from visiting as a child with my nan and mum to visiting with my child and wife levers has been consistently good . I'm sure it will be for another 15 years as well . Good old English chippy !!!

went in for a snack, ended up ordering fish and chip meal, the best cod I have ever tasted , it was freshly cooked for us , and a very generous portion it was , staff very friendly, made show everything was spot on , the owners came across and asked if everything was ok, could not fault them , will be a regular customer from now on.

These are easily the best chips in Oldham I have yet to have the "cold sad chip syndrome" the But? Some of the younger staff clearly do not want to be there and often get orders wrong, especially the one with the false fingernails (are they allowed when serving food?) but overall a great place

Lever's has been in these premises for many years and serves the many visitors and locals calling into Oldham's inside market. A good choice of food on the go with a cafe next door to cater for those not wishing to brave the elements.

This is a cute cafe at the back of oldham market. The fish is to die for. definitely the best chippy in oldham. The staff also extremely friendly and helpful. especially the old man.
