Highly recommended! One of the best restaurants I've been to in Hull. The Ukrainian food was delicious, I had the the dumplings (palmeni) and Napoleon cake - absolutely amazing! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the owner Lena offers tasty apples from her own garden to take home for free. If you're nearby and want to try some place new, you should visit here!

The best restaurant in Hull serving traditional Ukrainian food. Even if you have never tried Ukrainian food before, I can assure you will love it. Start with dumplings, proceed to deruny (which is grated potatoes served with sour cream or tastiest mushroom sauce), proceed to home-made cakes. Believe me, you are not going to find such tasty cakes anywhere in Hull. You can choose honey cake or Napoleon cake (made of very thin and flaky puff pastry cake layers and a smooth, rich and luscious pastry cream). Also, order honey and ginger tea, it’s amazing! The owner of the restaurant offers apples from her garden for free, you can’t find such tasty apples in the supermarkets, believe me. A lovely place indeed, we have been here twice already and will visit again and again.

Lovely little gem in Hull city centre, had the borscht and the garlic bread, and it is BANGING! Going to go here again def.

Came here about a year ago. I happened to wonder last on Ukrainian Independence Day, I had a browse at the outside menu and I was welcomed in. I had the Borscht and fresh bread with Homemade Fruit Compote Juice and a Latte. All Delicious. The staff were lovely too. I need to come back here. Princess were quite reasonable too.

Lovely Ukrainian foods . I recommend people of hull come in as the food is so fresh and lovely. Desserts are fabulous 👌. The staff are so polite and chatty. Clean place. Recommended!

The lady once took time out of her day to make cherry dumplings for me and they was amazing reminded me of my time on the dnipro in hotel bakkaru wonderful.

I’ve passed Lena’s a couple of times on my way to Hull New Theatre but this was my first visit and I’ll definitely be back! Unfortunately I didn’t have time to sample any of the hot meals but the menu looked so appetising and the cakes on display were mouthwatering. I settled for a cup of tea and some very tasty rocky road. The interior of Lena’s Ukrainian Kitchen is very elegant: clean, lovely decor with a flower on each table. There are plants by the door and music playing in the background. The lady who served me was lovely and paid great attention to detail. Recommended!

What a warming and very welcoming Atmosphere this Cafe/Restaurant is, the two very polite young ladies with such a beautiful smile was very helpful regarding getting food ordered etc. The lady served me a remarkable Ukraine stew that was so delicious 😋 It's a place you can go every day too for lunch or dinner 😀

This is the best service I ever had! For a small place, I didn't even expect so much. Me and my husband went to Lena's today and made our choices. A young lady helped with any questions we had and was very lovely. We made our order. I ordered chicken in a pot, but while waiting got a phone call to return to the hospital. When I asked how long we had to wait and explained that I needed to leave, the server offered to pack my food with me. I was excited about this option. So my husband dropped me at the hospital and returned to have His meal. He had pelmeni. He was very satisfied with the service, how food was placed in a bowl, the quantity, and the taste. It was real homemade food. In another 40ish minutes, I was able to dig into my food :) First, it still was warm!!!! It was packed in plastic boxes and generously wrapped in foil. Wooden forks were added too. And they sent me the drink(juice) I ordered too. It was delicious!

My first visit and it won't be my last. Nalysnyky.... Pancakes stuffed with ham hock and curd cheese were delicious. Real comfort food for a cold December night.

I had this Gorshochok pork stew. So delicious. Lena heats it in the oven so it takes five+ minutes so I had some of the cherry almond cake she makes. (I hadn’t had breakfast, don’t judge me!) it was equally yummy. The coffee was excellent. This is solid Ukrainian home cooking you can’t beat it. I feel I’m warmed up for the day now❣️ Thank you Lena. Great for casts at the New Hull Theatre where I’m working this week in “Dirty Dancing.” Comfort food sold here!

We had the rice and mushroom balls with roasted vegetables and a chilli sauce. It was our first time here and we absolutely loved it. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent value for money. There wasn't a single part of this meal we didn't love. Thank you so much. We're definitely coming back.

Really enjoyed our visit here - the food was absolutely delicious and talking with the lady who cooked it for us was clearly authentic and prepared with love. The food probably should have been a lot more expensive for the quality and I am already looking forward to another visit. Thank you!

Had a lovely time here. The Borsch soup, garlic bread and fruit juice compote all home made are delicious. Reasonable prices..I'd definitely recommend and come here again. Lovely people who work here too ☺

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Good, honest traditional Ukrainian home cooking. Nothing pretentious or cheffy. It was like stepping into a Ukrainian home with all my favourite childhood food. Lena is a wonderful lady with a big heart and the best Vareniky I have ever had. She deserves to be packed out yet it was surprisingly quiet when we went. Show some love for Ukraine and give it a try!

Fantastic 3 courses made for a really nice evening. Along with great service and good selection of drinks. Would recommend anyone to try. We will definitely be back to try more of an interesting menu.

Fantastic food that’s unlike anywhere else in Hull. We had the set menu which was vodka themed. The pork stew was a standout. Amazing value and lovely staff. Definitely worth a try!
