What a perfect spot for a cup of tea after a long walk! Tea was served in a pot with china cups and saucers - as it should be. The flapjacks were utterly delicious. Everything was priced like it used to be before COVID. Very refreshing and heartily recommended.

visited a couple of times during our stay. Afternoon tea served in vintage china in the stunning garden with the sound of the stream running alongside. The ladies working behind the scenes to prepare and serve the food were really helpful and dealt well with the sudden rush of walkers/guests who all turned up at the same time. After our hike to woody bay and back this little place made a wonderful pitstop.

What a lovely find on our walk from Lynton to Woody Bay. The garden is beautifully maintained, such a relaxing spot to sit and have a cup of tea. We also had some of the scones and as has been commented by others, were probably the best we have ever tasted!

What a fantastic cottage and cottage garden - a perfect setting for lunch or afternoon tea! Food all cooked and prepared fresh each day. I had the roasted vegetable salad and it was one of the best . This place has a simple menu excellently delivered. Run by volunteers from Lee Abbey who are friendly and so helpful. Have already been there twice this holiday but I’m sure I can add to those visits!!

Called in for refreshments after a long-ish walk, having been disappointed to find it closed earlier in the week. They currently only open on Fridays and Saturdays. I had a cream tea, the scone was warm and fresh, and the tea was lovely. My wife enjoyed her ice cream too. We were served by lovely friendly staff, and enjoyed the beautiful gardens.

We were just passing through the area on our way to stay further down the coast, and in the tourist information in Lynmouth a very helpful assistant, told us about the Tea Cottage at Lea Abbey. It certainly is tucked away off the beaten track, and in more pleasant weather I imagine that it is very busy. On the day we went it was raining but we could sit under the verandah. There was a wide selection of cakes, the Coffee and Walnut with spinach ,was particularly tasty, as was the Carrot cake. Definitely a place to go when we are next in the area.

This was so welcoming into what felt like the Chef’s home. It was cosy, the ambience was superb. The food was truly delicious and what was real, we felt we were part of the family. The tastes of the various dishes was just amazing and every dish was so different. The Chef was accompanied by his lovely wife and son who were amazing and helped make the family atmosphere with such a famous chef at the helm.
