Great place for a breakfast stop off on the way to South Wales

The location is amazing, easy walk from the town, albeit it uphill for part. Very busy when we arrived about 12:30,but plenty of tables, we managed to get on by the windows overlooking the lake. You order the food at the till, when I ordered my wife’s meal they asked if we wanted to upgrade to chips instead of crisps with here panini, which I did. When food came the upgrade was not supplied, so had to get back to the till to find out where the chips were. I had the all day breakfast, which is only sausage,bacon,egg and chips, I had to double check the menu, but this is all it was. The quality of the food was ok, but the plate with breakfast had a film of grease. The cappuccino and smooth we had were very good.

We had the pleasure of eating here and were very pleasantly surprised. It has changed ownership since we were here last and has improved in so many ways. The food is relatively simple but done really well. And the portions hark back to a time when you could go out get a proper meal. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, well done one and all for providing a great service.

Definitely a place to stop by! We made a quick detour on our way back to Manchester and it's saved for future trips! The portions are huge, the prices are fair and the food was delicious. The location is place on a beautiful area with a lake for a quick walk as well. Perfect! Highly recommended.

Lovely place for food, great atmosphere, lovely views over the lake the walk around the lake takes about 20 minutes there's tables and benches on the way around if you want to take a rest or picnic and you can do few activities on the water birds feed out of your hands £1 a cup just a really nice place to spend a few hours

Great place to start and finish your visit of Llandrindod Wells. There's free plentiful parking around the lake and the road leading up to the lake (early April) and there's a small toilet for men and women located by the side of the cafe. There's some pods located outside and picnic tables further up around the lake. The prices of the coffees and cake where reasonably priced and tasted great. There's seating upstairs and a terrace, but we had our canine reactive dog with us, so sat by the picnic benches. Definitely recommend visiting if you are in the area.

Unfortunately despite twice in the restaurant explaining that the chicken supreme ordered is not a roast chicken dinner delivered. We where told its the cut of the chicken and as Sunday, we should have known it will be roast chicken. Even though we ordered chicken supreme. (white sauce with mushrooms usually with rice). Same problem with the Gammon, what we where given was sliced ham. After complaining the chicken was under cooked and bloody the manager never came back. Asked at the till why we didn't get a discount for the wrong meals and 2 where not cooked properly. The manager disappeared and we where ignored and got £104 bill. On FB they suggested we emailed them, 3 days later no reply. I guess we were just too nice to kick up a fuss. 2 hour journey for 2 of us 4 hours for our friends. Will never eat there again despite going regularly before.

Nice place for a snack or light meal. Service is a little slow and requirement to wait to be seated is a bit pointless when you are then told to sit where you like and order at the counter, but aside from that the food and drinks were good and staff friendly.

Lovely setting. Bright and light rooms. Food was excellent. Large portions, fresh and tasty. Wide selection on menu. Highly recommend

Lovely place, great scenery great food great service great atmosphere. Food was a good range on the menu. Very reasonably priced. Staff very helpful and friendly. Our food turned up in good time and was delicious. Good sized portions. We did order the Lovely cakes but had to take them home as we were so full from our lunch

Been here a few times over the last 2 years. Went at the weekend and had another lovely lunch - ham, new potatoes, veg and parsley sauce. It was soooo yummy!

What a absolutely perfect idealistic setting. Amazing selection of meals and I fell in love with all the homemade cakes so I bought half of everything then went outside and fed the swans and geese. Should be more places like this

We popped in on the off-chance that the cafe might have some gluten free food available and did they ever! 8-hour slow roast beef Sunday lunch with gluten free Yorkshire puddings!!! Plus all the trimmings. Portion size was fab too. Tom and his coworkers we're so nice and accommodating, and the outside area is dog friendly so my big silly pupper had a bit of beef too.

The lake is lovely to walk around, it can be busy on weekends but loads of space for everyone to walk. Lovely dog area, but if your dog doesn't like ducks then maybe not the place for you. Cafe was great, lovely coffees & a hot chocolate. You can get ice creams downstairs, it really is for all of the family. The balcony of the coffee shop is dog friendly also. If you would like Sunday lunch then please book as it fills up fast.

Lovely cafe, great food and friendly staff.

We had booked before arrival and were seated straight away which was nice. The waiter (Tom) arrived prompltly to take our order and this was when our experience began to take a turn. 2 of our party asked for a glass of wine and were told that they only sold bottles, so you can imagine our surprise when the 2 tables next to us were served glasses some 20 minutes later. When ordering the meals, we were offered accompanying 'condiments' and asked for cranberry, apple and mint sauces. We were advised that they actually only had cranberry, this was quite disappointing especially as when we were leaving we saw tables being served with mounds of apple sauce. The roast pork was delightful (would have been better with the apple sauce) the slow cooked beef was not slow cooked but all in all, the dinners were nice. Roasties were banging, mash was smash, cauliflower cheese was very tasty. Although we didn't have desserts, we did see them being served and they looked lush. Slightly disappointing review after a slightly disappointing experience. Thus said, the setting was stunning and we took the chance to walk around the lake afterwards.

Had an absolutely delicious Turkey roast with desserts, quick service and lots of food. Photos show pork and Turkey roast. Great for special occasions, highly recommend.

Lovely little cafe in a really nice location, very friendly staff and some nice seating along the lake, bird feed available for feeding the birds. Great walk around the lake aswell.

Lakeside Café Review I recently visited the Lakeside Café, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! The food was absolutely fantastic – everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The staff were so lovely, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The cozy atmosphere, combined with the stunning lakeside views, made it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. This place is truly a hidden gem! I’ll definitely be back soon and encourage everyone to give it a try. Highly recommend!

We dropped into this lovely cafe on the recommendation of the owner of the lodge we were staying at. When we arrived at late lunchtime the staff were super helpful and did also tell us that food would be around 20 minutes as they were busy. This wasn't a problem, but like others have mentioned, it may be worth booking ahead during peak times. We had some dietary needs in our group but these were all taken well care of by the staff and kitchen (thank you!). The food has a good range and is fantastically tasty. I've had a few burgers in my time, but the one I had here was right up with the best. One of our group is a chef at a restaurant and he was very impressed too. The lovely atmosphere, light and airy setting as well as the lovely views really added to an excellent meal.

Amazing find which made our day. I feel I should keep it secret so it doesn't get too crowded. We walked round the lake, enjoyed bird watching and the water activities followed by coffee overlooking the lake. One way system for cars around lake new but makes it more relaxing with separate cycle way.

Excellent service & lovely food

Excellent panini - comes with some salad, coleslaw & crisps (although we upgraded the crisps to chips for £2 extra each). We can both recommend the brie, bacon & cranberry and the chicken, bacon & cheese! Both were really tasty! Excellent service, all the staff had smiles on their faces, all really friendly and polite. Top notch! Good atmosphere with seating both indoors & outdoors overlooking the lake. We were lucky with the timing getting a seat as a couple were just leaving. I can imagine this place can get busy during peak times. Dogs welcome outside only.

We visited the top restaurant twice during our recent holiday in the area, both times it was very good and excellent service and food. It’s certainly a little gem of the area! Plenty of friendly and attentive staff 🙂

Lovely place to go for a relaxing walk around the lake and have an ice cream, coffee, or something to eat, not to mention feed the ducks with the kids.

Looks like a wonderful place but very misleading! Says on the sign outside by the steps that it’s open 7 days a week as well as on Google maps so we detoured to it to find that it’s closed on Mondays. Very disappointing.

On holiday in the area we decided, thanks to Google Maps, to try out the Lakeside Cafe. We had food to take away, we were very happy with our choices! Chicken wrap, which was huge and tasty, homemade coleslaw was really good. While waiting for my order, I could see the food coming out for the people sitting inside, everything looked very good. Staff were very helpful to change a drink after I ordered. The location is fantastic, as it was a nice day parking near the cafe was not easy but we took our food, and found our way around the lake, where there was plenty of parking. It's a one way road, so there is plenty of room. Peaceful location, overlooking the lake and the cafe building, which is really large and plenty of seating inside. Would happily return when we're back in the area.

Only bought ice creams in the gift shop. Reasonably priced ice cream with a Mr. Whippy machine or freshly made multi flavours from the fridge. Not particularly busy but it did take some time to be served.

Gorgeous cafe by the lake, good selection of activities including kids play area and a nice look level walk around the lake. Only downside was that the mens toilets were a bit of a state. Would definitely come back.

The food here was delicious. The waiting time was a little bit longer than they stated when purchasing but it was very nice and worth the wait once it did arrive. The place is very clean and the staff were friendly. Plenty of seats inside and outside. There is a free car park here.

Excellent food, great variety on the menu, and extras on a specials board. Portions were wonderfully generous. The quality and value for money were superb. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Service was quick. All around excellent experience. We'll definitely be back again. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating areas. Wheelchair accessible via a ramp.

The staff are absolutely fantastic! So kind and helpful! The entire area is so well thought out and welcoming. We only popped in to have a quick look and ended up booking a taster session for our three kids - which they absolutely loved! We're planning to go back for another session. Would recommend always :)

Had a breakfast here today and it was probably the best cooked breakfast I have ever had. You could tell that the ingredients were high quality but they were also cooked beautifully. The service was just as good. Everyone was so welcoming and accommodating. Food and coffees arrived quickly. Honestly could not recommend enough!

Lovely breakfast. Very well presented and fast, efficient and friendly service. As others have said already there are cheaper places in town but for me the quality, location and ambience are worth forking out a bit extra.

Lovely place to take the family. Clean with lots of free facilities. With boat and dragon pedalos for hire. Ice creams, coffee and tourist paraphernalia in the shop. Just about acceptable toilets and free parking make it a lovely place for a family picnic.

Lovely little cafe on the lake, brilliant staff who were very nice and personable, and also cooked a portion of chips for the family event though the kitchen had shut. The cakes are gorgeous with a brilliant selection, and the barista coffee is lovely too! Great selection of hot & cold drinks for all the family too! Pair that with a sunny day in the sandpit outside and the pedalos on the water and you've for a brilliant day for the whole family!

Recently had breakfast at Lakeside Cafe and Catering. Prices are a bit high but the food and service are worth it. Nice staff and good selection of drinks. Definitely recommend!

We found this place by accident when looking for somewhere scenic to have lunch. A very nice find being right beside the lake giving lovely views whilst eating, great for a walkabout too. Food and drinks are ordered at the counter and delivered to the table. Plenty if choice on the menu and we ordered Lamb Burgers with salad and chips. Food freshly cooked and nicely presented. The chips were crispy coated and delicious, the salad had a grain dressing and complimented the food perfectly. The Lamb burger however was a strange one. Had a strange taste and texture unlike any lamb burger I've ever had before. Really need to phone to ask the ingredients. The pot of tea stayed hot throughout and was perfect. There was a lovely selection of cakes for dessert, had a hard time chosing between them. We will definitely head back to this lovely place again.

Visited with my dog. Dogs only allowed on terrace which is fine. Unfortunately I don't like to tie dog up and leave her so therefore could not go in to order anything as I was on my own . Tried in vain for 15 minutes to order something by catching eye of serving staff but ended up leaving. I don't know if you can order from the table but was extremely disappointed.

Beautiful lakeside cafe serving snacks, lunch plates, coffee/cakes. Indoor seating and outside terrace overlooking the lake, perfect for a break and refreshments. The boathouse also offers pedalo hire.

Hidden gem!! Beautiful walk by the river too through and surrounded by the trees. Stop and find calmness. Afternoon tea is Beautiful and never seem to run out of tea either! Huge bonus!

Couldn't fault it,very quick service,we didn't have to book,though maybe weekends you might have to. Lovely food,staff were very engaging in a nice way.

Diverted to this location as our normal cafe was closed. What a stunning location, lots going on. Sit on the balcony and you feel like you’re at a yacht club or cricket pavilion. Great homemade products. Price is a bit steep but again quality with the food and service. How ever we did have to question where our order was as it seamed to being forgotten about. It was sorted in the end. I will certainly be back and hopefully enjoy more of the location next time

Nice views and good coffee. Queuing took a long time though. No vegan breakfast options and they don’t start lunch until 12 so avoid if vegan and wanting food for breakfast or brunch.

We had a small full English breakfast that was still enough. The service was excellent along with the atmosphere and views. Just what we needed as a great start to the day.

Love this quaint cafe by the lakes, had nice seating pods outside directly in front cafe entrance, and has nice hot chocolate, and Cakes, Nutella doughnut was lovely. Chocolate brownies was nice moist too. Sells ice-cream, and yes, coffee, before 3pm served food but wouldn't know keep missing that time come afterwards after been out all day. As only takes 20 mins walk around the lake. Have something to eat, and buy bird food feed the swans, geese, and Ducks. Had nice gift shop inside had lot nice things to buy. Milkshakes look lovely but bit overpriced for what they are.
