Had a really tasty meal here and it was a lovely atmosphere for all the family . Chef came out and chatted to us too.italian food like mama used to make will be going again

We really enjoyed our meal here. The service was friendly and attentive, the menu was really good with lots of options for everybody. The drinks were also good with a nice selection. The food was hot and fresh and the order correct. It was so really good value for money.

Great rustic Italian restaurant with fresh homemade dishes and lovely sevice. Also very reasonable prices. The decor is a bit simple and dated but the food and prices more than makes up for it. There was no pizza on the menu for my son but the owner and chef said no problem and made a homemade pizza to order. I have milk allergy and I got a dish adjusted accordingly and it was delicious. The homemade lasagne was amazing and the deserts were gorgeous too.

Lovely rustic Italian restaurant, with lovely tasty food. The staff are warm and very attentive. The chef popped out and chatted to everyone. Which was a nice touch. A very nice relaxed atmosphere.

We ate on a quiet Thursday night. Being quiet, we had the benefit of talking to Paolo, the owner and chef. Paolo was very accommodating to dietary requirements, and it's clear everything is cooked from fresh, unless of course it's a slow cook ragu, which was lovely. Everything we had (bruschetta, sea bass, aubergine in tomato sauce topped with cheese) was delicious. Very happy we found La Terrazza.

Called here 3 times for it to go through to voicemail. When arrived it was shut even though says open on Google this was on Wednesday. No notice outside the restaurant.

What an amazing traditional Italian restaurant! I was looking for a place to celebrate my husband's birthday and could only find take aways and then found this and we were delighted: with the delicious home cooked food, the friendly and prompt service, the happy ambience of the place. Highly recommended

We had not planned to eat here, but fancied Italian and it was on route to our destination. I opened the door to the restaurant and felt as though I had stepped into someone else dinner party, as the tables were very close to the door. It was not immediately obvious where to go and the bar area was concealed. We were greeted by a charming young lady who showed us to our table. The restaurant needs more care - lots of cobwebs and dust in the cobwebs behind the radiator next to the table. The table looked clean but felt somewhat sticky. Allergies were checked, and orders were taken promptly. The portions were quite small for both mine and my partners' options (I think that my chicken special had about half a chicken breast and three thin slices of salami), that said, it was tasty. The chef/owner was pleasant, albeit busy and seems to be well liked by the locals.

I had chicken with mushroom, garlic, onion in a creamy sauce. However the "creamy sauce" had split and was the consistency of water. It wasn't very nice. The other meals ordered (steak and a spaghetti bolognese) were both really enjoyed by the other people eating with me so I'm guessing I was just unlucky with my meal. I have to say that the lady who took our order on arrival was lovely and very friendly. The chef was also very friendly and was talking to different diners. The other servers were also very friendly and professional. I have to say the home made tiramisu was one of the nicest I've EVER had! I could have eaten three. In fact I wish they were available to buy in a supermarket!

Lovely little Italian restaurant! We had the Penne Al Funghi, Penne Primavera and linguine Fruits De la mare (sorry for poor spelling) which were all delicious! The mushroom pasta was creamy but not too strong or rich for a big dish. The staff were lovely, our waitress was very friendly and chatty and had great knowledge of the dishes and dietary requirements. The chef came to check on the food and was very friendly. We had a starter off of the specials menu and a pudding too which were both very nice. Great price for lovely food and a very good value. We would recommend and would definitely come back if in the area again! Thank you all

It's hard to understand the small number of quite nasty reviews on here, as we really enjoyed our visit and came back the next evening. What a pleasure to eat Italian away from the big bland chains of restaurants like Prezzo or Ask Italia. It is true that the decor is basic - but it is in keeping with the style of the restaurant - a homely family restaurant with good food and service at very reasonable prices. The staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Would certainly visit again.

Was told it was a lovely Italian restaurant by the owners on the B&B where we were staying, and it didn’t let us down. Food was lovely and the service was great. Staff were really attentive and even the chef came out to talk to us. We both had the liver special to start and it was heaven. We had 1 beef special which was absolutely superb and the chicken and chorizo special, wish I had asked for the recipe. The potatoes that came were so tasty and crispy. Mmmm, heaven. We were offered free homemade limoncello, which my partner had, I was driving, so declined, but told it was stunning. Would definitely come back to this place.

What a great little restaurant. Food was fabulous. The specials were 10/10 Staff really friendly and welcoming. Stayed just up the road on holiday and drove in. Managed to park outside. We were late due to traffic by 30mins. Didn’t bother them at all despite them being fully booked and busy. Kid friendly. Vegan and vegetarian menu options available

If I could give no stars I would. I have been searching online for reviews of La Terrazza as I cannot believe we ate at the restaurant that is so praised on TripAdvisor! We were slightly uncomfortable on arrival when the decor was extremely run down. No table cloths, grubby walls, table mats sticking to the table and sticky menus. Two of our party of four were keen to leave straight away but my partner couldn't find a table anywhere else closer than 50 minutes away ( Good Friday and a logistical priblem accepted living in Shropshire!) . I was prepared to give the chef the opportunity to overcome the surroundings by producing some amazing traditiinal Italian food raved about in the reviews. I was wrong. We chose basic pasta dishes for speed of exit. The mushroom penned was tasteless so the fact that the mushrooms were past their best stood out. The carbonate was better but a small portion for the price. The chicken pesto penne was supermarket quality and swimming in sauce. We eat out a lot and are happy to pay for quality. I'm not sure where the profits are being spent but its certainly not on the premises, ambiance or waitresses appearance. I hesitate with my comments regarding the service as the girls were very pleasant however I think they seemed uncomfortable suggesting they know there are significant issues with the whole set up. I'm not sure if this restaurant has new owners and is trying to resurrect itself or whether it has not changed hands and is disappearing into the abyss. I do hope it's not the latter and that there is a plan in the pipeline. However for now our visit is going to become one of those family stories that will be related humorously on many occasions as a very disappointing and incredulous experience!

Staying at a caravan park nearby and thought we’d support local and try the local Italian and reading the reviews on here. Wish we hadn’t. First of all, the restaurant is run down and tired. We chose to say in the ‘little room’ after having our pick of tables in the empty restaurant. At 19:30 on a bank holiday Friday evening, we should’ve known that was a red flag. There was no music, and it was weirdly quiet even with other diners. Like awkward to speak out loud. Ordered a Moretti & a lemonade. Lemonade was out of a bottle which had been open a whole, and the Moretti was a tiny bottle. We both ordered the special stater as the waitress described it so beautifully. Mushrooms in a tomato sauce on a bed of garlic bread, over baked with crispy cheese. It was laughable. 2 tiny slices of shop-bought garlic bread soaked with jarred tomato sauce, part-cooked mushrooms (some stalks were definitely raw) and cheddar on top. The whole thing had been microwaved rather than over baked which you could tell by the ‘extremely hot plates’ we were told to be careful of. I then had spag bol & my partner had spaghetti with prawns. I have never had a blander spag bol in my life. It was like chewing nothing. And my partner said his was just full of garlic and was very disappointing. We’ve had nicer microwaved meals from supermarkets and can DEFINITELY cook better at home. The side of garlic bread was also shop-bought tiny slices with added garlic butter. Garlic overload AND microwaved, again with the boiling hot plate we were, again, told to watch. Parmesan also came in a tiny little dish that we had to share. We said it was nice to just pay up and leave. As the waitresses were not very approachable and looked extremely scruffy. Tatty clothes and trainers that were falling apart. I felt SO overdressed in jeans and boots! We even questioned ourselves that maybe we were being slight food snobs being from a busy city but no, this place is abysmal. The locals must also agree which is why it was dead? Needs a serious overhaul and the chefs needs sacking. Never ever again. Waste of time and money. So disappointed.

Lovely food, really nice staff.

A delicious authentic Italian meal served in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. We ate early before going to the theatre and were welcomed by the owner and chef, Paolo, who told us about the specials in what was already an interesting and varied menu. On finding we were vegetarian Paolo offered to prepare a range of starters which were delicious and included arrancini in a rich tomato and pea sauce. Our main courses were good and we were able to mix and match sauces and types of pasta. Glad we had deserts even tho' we were very full as the Tiramisu was home made and delicious, not like the overly sweet shop-bought versions. The fruit tart, made with fruit from Paolo's orchard was a triumph served with vanilla ice cream. My mother was Italian and so I am often disappointed by the quality of the food in England but I can say I wasn't here and will definitely be returning!

I am sorry to say the food was below par and a big disappointment I could cook better food at home. Think the chef needs to up his game. They did ask if we thought the food was okay and we said yes as we just wanted to eat and leave.

What a great find. Lovely Italian restaurant. Very welcoming staff. Even the owner came to greet us. The food was served quickly and there was plenty of wonderful choices. The food was great - couldn’t fault it. I had cod beautifully cooked with spinach and cheese and plenty of it. Husband had marinated beef which he said was great. Definitely recommend and we are going back.

The service at this restaurant is fabulous. The staff are knowledgeable and attentive and the food is served quickly and piping hot. The Owner/chef is very friendly and pops out of the kitchen between cooking dishes and checks that all is ok with your food. The menu choice is extensive, freshly cooked, delicious and not expensive. Will definitely return to this little gem.

Easily booked over the phone for same night, restaurant is tired looking like all reviews have said however, food was tasty hot and quick. Servers couldn’t do anymore and the Chef even come out to check on everyone which was a lovely touch. We ordered marinated olives, caprese salad, garlic bread starters and carbonara, genevese and chips. Which where all so nice would defiantly recommend to anyone from couples to big groups. Will definitely return.

Seen this venue when working in Newtown and quite fancied trying Italian. Thought out outside of the building looked a bit run down and unloved. Made enquiries and told food was good, which it was. The inside of the venue was also a bit tired. Thought they could have done with one person running front of house.. Also unusual these days to see the bill Ben done on paper.

We stayed over in Newtown for the night on our way back from Snowdonia and this restaurant was recommended to us. I can see why as it was absolutely delicious! The staff were very welcoming and attentive. Our waitress with the short hair was particularly excellent and made it a great evening for us! Had a lovely aperol spritz and white wine as well as gorgeous specials (mushrooms, prawns). The sea bass was amazing. The dishes are very reasonably priced too. Be sure to visit!

I found this place looking online for somewhere to eat pre theatre. It's been a while since I've visited Newtown and despite it's sleepy nature things have changed. A bypass and a McDonald's opposite a Burger King! This authentic restaurant was a good find. The food was excellent with very attentive cheerful service. One of the best spaghetti carbonara I've had for some time and an excellent meringue pudding which was just right. Meringue is a hard thing to do perfectly. The only fault was that it was a bit chilly but it was the coldest night of the year and I appreciate that all small businesses are struggling with energy costs. When I'm next passing I will be calling in.

Our first time here. The waitress had an encyclopedic memory and described all the chef's specials and asked if we had any dietary requirements, always a good thing today. The presentation of my starter lacked a bit of finesse and the tartare sauce was average but the main was excellent. My wife opted for a vegetarian main and said it was lovely and left a clean plate. Happy to return or recommend . Good value too.

'Little Italy', what can I say?My wife and I with our two children had a fabulous meal out at La Terraza. It was our first meal out post COVID and was excellent. We were early which was no trouble and looked after perfectly thereafter. The Service was lovely and a big shout out to the attentive waitress with the 'dickybow'! She made our night.The food was prompt, hot and fresh with the Pizza a blessing for our daughter. The desserts were really tasty and not overwhelming. It's always a lottery when you choose to eat somewhere when on holiday but there were no regrets for us.Thank you.

We visited on Friday 28th January in a group of 5. We were welcomed by Katherine who was very friendly. The restaurant was quiet and we liked the sound of so much on the menu and the delicious sounding daily specials. The Chef Paulo offered to create a sharing banquet after asking each of us what we really liked or didn't like. We were then given a feast of different starters and mains each of which was absolutely delicious. We felt very welcome by Paulo and the team and will definitely be back. #Pauloisback

Would not recommend. Service was appalling, very rude and abrupt. Waited two hours even though pre booked. Pizza come with a side of plastic, which when took to till the lady fished her hands in the pizza to remove it ( still charged for this ) tried overcharging us, then went round asking for a penny that we owed. Will not be returning unfortunately.

Food - garlic bread & pizza really good, think fluffy base, hot, fresh with plenty of toppings; chicken breast in tomato sauce okay, chicken moist but sauce was a bit like passatta, penne with chicken and pesto, penne delicious, al dente & tasted homemade, pesto a bit vinegary, possibly not homemade?? Scoops of ice cream are ENORMOUS lol! Lemoncello on the host at the end a nice touch.

Delicious homemade proper Italian food! We ate here as a family of 4. Was a little worried as it was quiet but fear not this place is really delicious! 4 starters, 4 mains, 1 dessert and 4 alcoholic drinks and 2 soft drinks for £102. Excellent value food but more importantly it tasted wonderful. So lovely to be served and cooked by Italian people too! Lovely friendly service, where nothing was too much.
