I’ll start off this review by stating that the food here is always really good. Really high quality and tasty. However, twice now on eating in, we’ve been subjected to really incredibly poor service from the waitressing staff. There’s one particular waitress who seems to just feel the need to constantly be unnecessarily rude, speaks to you like dirt, almost as though she’s looking down on you. Service is always slow. You’ll be seated, 15 minutes later a drink order will be taken. If you’re ready to order food at that point, you will be told you can’t and to wait for another member of staff. 30 minutes later, if you’re lucky, someone will be over to take your order (and they probably won’t as much as crack a smile, but they will definitely be arrogant and rude). When your food arrives, some of your group may be missing their meals, which may take a further 10 - 15 minutes to arrive while everyone else’s food goes cold. Been a number of times and it’s been lovely, but it’s been bad twice now - I wouldn’t recommend eating in. Take food out from them so that you don’t need to put up with their horrific attitudes. This place isn’t cheap. You would expect to at least be spoken to with respect by the staff.

Went last night 23rd July 2024, the food was lovely, hot and tasty, will be definitely going back again. Staff were great.

Food was undercooked and we had to send it back another meal was over cooked and when asked on leaving how the food was we told them And the attitude was awful we never asked for anything off the meal yet the attitude was dismissive. 5 very unhappy customers we will Stay clear of them in the future .

Absolutely great little Italian

Another lovely meal last night, if you haven’t tried the antipasti board, then you’re missing out.

Greek people running Italian restaurant. Amazing food. Superb atmosphere. My favourite place in Chapel St Leonards. I'm missing they other restaurant, Larissa. Highly recommend.

I'm having a really lovely meal here tonight. On my own but being taken especially good care of by the lovely staff. The tagliatelle Mediterrano was lovely, the salad was very fresh with a great Italian dressing and the profiteroles we're delicious. Atmosphere very calm and overall a great experience. Would recommend. Thank you 🙏

Nice atmosphere good food and service

Despite having booked they didnt appear to have a booking in our name however we were still accomodated. Staff were pleasant and the food lovely.

We have been eating in this restaurant for over 25 years, and have never been disappointed until the last 2 times we have eaten here. Since it was taken over, the restaurant has fallen off a cliff. I had the worst pizza I think I have ever eaten in a restaurant. Unless the new owner employs a chef who can cook Italian food, this restaurant will not survive.

This place was really delightful, the food was perfect and all staff were amazingly friendly.

Eaten here several times over the years and always been brilliant. Unfortunately not so good when we went last week. Portions are a lot smaller, steak was chewy and over cooked, staff lack customer service skills on every level. No atmosphere at all, sorry to say but we will not be going back, San Rufos is far better in every way. Sorry

Doesn’t look much from outside but it’s really lovely inside and the menu was beautiful. Food was really good and not excessively expensive. Would highly recommend.

Fabulous food, great service. I can't speak highly enough of them. We surprised them by turning up unannounced for our wedding meal, and they did not let us down.

We love it here, we eat in and we also have good value takeaway from here, possibly more cucumber in the takeaway side salad,

Chef is different to last year steak was good everything else was poor. Pizzas were up there with worst we've had, chips under cooked and all served on cold plates

We have eaten here many times now and absolutely love it! The staff are lovely and had working and the chefs food is excellent with all top quality ingredients. One of our favourite restaurants.

Great tasting food served in a friendly atmosphere. They do takeaways too. We chose to eat here because we fancied Italian food and recent reviews here were very good. On a Damp and miserable Tuesday evening in February we (a group of four adults) thought we may be the only ones eating in but there were quite a few covers and the foot fall for takeaways seemed fairly busy too. (Always a good sign). We each had a different main, desert and coffee. Everything was excellent and very tasty. The food seemed freshly cooked to order and was served nice and hot. The restaurant has a nice rustic atmosphere with the kitchen activity visible to the main eating area. We were warmly greeted by the owner. A nice lady from Greece who runs it with her husband. She also served us at the table with a very friendly manner. They have only recently taken over the business so one can only assume that old reviews aren’t really relevant to the current ownership. If our excellent experience can be maintained during busy times and in high season then I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Great, first time we've been and been coming here for years. Was not disappointed. Will be going back soon. Been back today. 9th August. Best food had for a long time. Went for another meal 27th Dec. Still good but not as well cooked for me as before. Salmon was overcooked and dry and it came with roast potatoes.

Went early evening with a group of friends, service was okay the staff need training on serving ie don't lean across two people when a step to the left/right would mean serving without leaning over diners. What self respecting Italian restaurant does not have tiramisu on the menu? (sold out does not cut it at 5pm). Food was nice nothing exceptional, a slight wait till everyone got their chosen meal.

Went for a family meal with my son his wife and 2 young children.Service and atmosphere was really good and the food was fantastic,I had the special which was BBQ pizza which was amazing.

Our first visit here & we were impressed with what we found. Friendly helpful staff, quick service & reasonable prices. Once ordered our food arrived quickly & looked delicious. Everybody commented on how tasty their dishes were. A real gem of a place that we will be returning to in the future,

Had dinner while staying in area at La Piazza. The food was amazing, can recommend calamari, king prawn starters and the lamb ragu was outstanding. To top it off Tiramisu a personal favourite of mine was to die for and worth the visit on its own. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and can’t be faulted. Try this place , you won’t be disappointed.

First and last time. This is not in any way an Italian restaurant. Bland pizza, terrible base. Toppings missed. Ordered pepperoni with chilli. Received margherita?? Ordered garlic bread with cheese. Received bread smothered in tomato sauce, so basically the same as the pizza. Very disappointing

What a gem , delightful food and welcoming staff. Reasonable priced ,a enjoyable evening. We visited on a Tuesday and the restaurant was full .

Booked in on a Friday night for a quick bite to eat with friends. Overall I have never had a bad meal here and this was no exception. Good value for money, however the waitress’s were absolutely miserable to the point I had to ask her to smile as she put our meals down without even acknowledging anyone! We found it quite funny but could be off putting to some. Overall 7/10

We called in after googling Italian restaurants nearby, the restaurant was extremely busy! The lady on reception couldn't have been more helpful, she could squeeze us in but didn't really want to be rushing us so booked us in for the next evening. We weren't disappointed! It's a beautiful looking place, the atmosphere is lovely, the service was excellent and the food was just sublime!! Sadly they had sold out of a couple of items but I'm not surprised given how popular the place is. If you want fantastic food, in a beautiful venue then this is for you. We will 100% be back ❤️

We have been coming to this restaurant for years but I’m afraid after our experience we won’t be doing so again. The food was average and just warm. My husband ordered the Contessa which contained prawns of which there were two! Noisy and clearly no dress code at all.

I was looking for a nice meal out with some friends and got nothing but poor service and even worse food. There was no flavour to any of the food we ordered. Do not be misled by what seems to be appealing photos, which are extremely deceitful. I would not recommend this quote on quote establishment to anybody.

The time we waited to be served wasn't what we'd expect of a restaurant, the food itself was deeply disappointing we had anticipated nice authentic Italian dishes and were presented with what could only be described as crude imitations on the calzone pre grated cheese which was not melted, and British ham which was completely flavourless and absolutely not authentic the rest of the food was average felt very plain and ready meal esque major disappointment do not have high hopes for this establishment, I will say the atmosphere and decor was nice but what we ultimately paid for was a poor ready meal collection we'd have been better off paying for two meal deals instead of this, would undoubtedly be of greater quality

Excellent food at a reasonable price. Great staff and service. As others have mentioned the mussels were excellent. My mother had the duck as a main course which was beautifully cooked. The only slight disappointment was the crime brûlée desser which wasn’t quite set enough. We went for a family celebratory meal as a one off but enjoyed so much we returned the next day.

Had a take away, the salad was lovely and the chicken was delicious UPDATE JULY 2023 Had the same chicken dish not so good, my husband had steak, very very dry, and the pepper sauce was grim, laden with salt, think it will probably our last visit, shame it was always so good

This Restaurant is a Excellent place to eat out probably some of the best Italian food I have had since eating out in Paphos Cyprus 20 years ago. I recommend the Chefs Antipasto starter for 2 and any of Pasta dishes me and my wife Joanne had such a good evening we both ate there a 2nd night for dinner the staff where very warm and friendly even the Chef said hello to me . I would also like recommend the Morago red wine it goes well with the dishes above we will definitely visit again

Amazing restaurant. Service and food are both to the highest standard. Best meal of the holiday and best Italian place I have ever been too. Defo visit here before going home. We thought we had died and gone to heaven with the duck it was delicious.

I always enjoyed good food. I always tip when I appreciate service. Last visit I felt the service was unatentive. I asked for ice in drink. No ice. Had to go to bar and get ice. Waited long time to be asked for food order. It wasn't overly busy. No problem. But my absolute astonishment. When I went to pay bill. The bad service person asked me if I would like to add a tip on my debit card for service. In front of my family. I thought this was cheeky. Not appropriate. Little bit like begging for bad service. Servers should be on top of there game. Won't be returning. Put me off. Always enjoyed all. But not anymore. Came for food & ambiance before. Not to be put under pressure in front of guests to leave tip for bad service. Just try not to get the begger waiting staff to con you as you leave. She nearly had a begging bowl. Not nice tips are tips & my tip is don't go..

We always visit this restaurant when we go to Chapel and are never disappointed! We visited twice this weekend and had two lovely meals. The service is great - the staff are helpful and polite and very accommodating for those in our party that have a dietary condition. We will definitely return again!

Disappointing desert, had the Creme brulee. It tasted like tinned or carton custard, with a bit of sugar on top. The plate was decorated with spay cream and grapes stuck in it.

Now been here several times ! Food and service excellent! specials on offer. Mussels were excellent plus good choice of wines Tomahawk Steak looked superb and far to big for one ! Can not recommend highly enough this asset to the Village

Absolutely unbelievable food. Me and my partner came here for a meal, as we’re here on holiday. The food was outstanding and extremely tasty. The service was brilliant, particularly from the waitress Caroline who was very chatty, helpful and just all round a lovely lady. We will definitely be returning. Good prices too and substantial amount in each meal. The muscles to start were gorgeous, and the arrabiatta was also cooked to perfection.

Went in for a dinner with my partner, everything was perfect apart from the dish I ordered, it was pretty bland and I don't think was worth the £14.90 price tag. Apart from that, the wine we had was lovely and I really am not a fan of wine. Drink prices was quite high for what you got, I think a pint of Carling was £5.50. Other than that, it's a very nice easy going Italian👌🏻

Picked up a takeaway order but liked the look and layout of the restaurant, would definitely eat there. Quality of the take out food was exceptional 👌

An absolute little gem nestled in the heart of Chapel St Leonard's. Superb food (the portions are huge) service and atmosphere was second to none. Will definitely visit again.

Fantastic place to visit for some beautiful food! I had the prawn, garlic dish and this I recommend 100%! 5 members of family and we were seated straight away and we all jave different dietary requirements. Staff were so polite and friendly. The pizzas looked and tasted delicious and the salmon looked amazing!

Searched around looking for somewhere to eat called in at this place it was heaving we thought we wouldn't get in, they made room for us due to a cancellation, there loss my gain. The food was out of this world the atmosphere was buzzing and the staff are worth there weight in gold. If I could give more stars I would, in the words of the terminator " I will be back" thankyou to all from me and my wife. Bella
