Thoroughly enjoyed this unusual and whimsical eatery in the heart of Edinburgh's moneyed and fashionable Hester Wailes district. We chose to eat in the dark School Gymnasium space although the outdoor terrace and the Space Deck looked equally inviting. Our meal was served by a Saint Bernard dog called Atkinson, who was a lively raconteur and before becoming a waiter has worked as an adept polar explorer, despite only having one leg. The menu lists fifteen different kinds of chips, with deep fried mars bars on offer for the vegetarians in the family. I chose the King Edward three eighths by two inch chips while my wife went for her favourite thick cut turnip and mangelwurzel. Absolutely delicious and served with tomato squidge and garlic margarine. We both chose sugar-coated plantain chips with potato custard for dessert. Washed down with a delightful bottle of Chateau L'effrayant. The bill was GBP 178.30 plus VAT and 10% service charge.

Damn good service and food. Never had a Nepalese Curry. Amazing. Very attentive (but not too much). I was the only one here (early dinner at 430). Great little spot.
