La Menta Cafe Bistro in Fife

Very friendly staff ,and a lovely atmosphere

Went to Amorist today with my friend for lunch. Big mistake!! Walked in and saw one of the female waiting staff who guided us to a table for two without any hello. She gave us menus and we both thought the choice was great. My friend ordered a burger and I had a sandwich with chicken, lettuce, tomato and cucumber I did not want the bacon. We ordered a portion of chips to share as we could not see if it came with chips.Just to point out this waitress had no communication skills either, both very fed up looking and no engagement which we both found rude. Our meal came and to our shock both plates had chips and then the waitress brought us another portion of chips. We explained that we only ordered the one portion of chips to share as we did not think the food came with chips. The waitress walked to the counter spoke with the man behind the counter and the other waitress and they were all staring at us as if we had committed a crime. I walked up to them and explained how the error had occurred, if the waitress had made it clear our meal came with chips we would not need to order any more. The whole experience with the staff was off putting, not friendly, no attempt to interact with us the customer, absolutely no customer care/service. My friend was enjoying her meal but when I started to eat my chicken salad sandwich I thought I had bit into a piece of mozzarella cheese due to the texture but it was actually a cold fried egg on top of my chicken salad. It was disgusting, the bread was all greasy and soggy, I actually felt sick. There was no mention of the fried egg in the menu ?? Why would it be there in the first place. I did not eat my meal, it was horrible. My friend caught the waitresses attention and asked for the bill. The waitress did not ask if we enjoyed our meal, did not comment on mine being left in fact again she said very little. So our first time and our last time in this place. I am so annoyed that my friend paid £24 for a terrible experience, rude staff with no interpersonal skills, no communication skills, looked and acted miserable and my meal was awful .

Great coffee and cake. Breakfast is also excellent.

Delicious Eggs Benedict the sauce was one of the best I have tasted and poached eggs were perfect.

Lovely late lunch. Food was gorgeous. Staff were friendly and efficient. Prices were reasonable. Not rushed, altogether a pleasant afternoon. Will be back.

Avoid this place if you have food allergies. Enquired about alternatives when arrived. Ordered a safe meal only to have the wrong meal served. Have suffered since as someone who is new to eating out with my allergy this has really put me off going out for food.

Food is so expensive and it's very salty

The experience we had was next to none. The staff were very professional and friendly could not fault the Bistro it was warm and very comfortable definitely will be back 💥🦍👍

Had a beautiful meal here . Not a place I would have booked . My friend booked it for her birthday and it was tremendous. Good portion of food and great relaxed atmosphere. Definitely be back.

Awful. If I could give 0 starts I would. Service awful, took ages to be served when we finally received our food it was cold and not cooked properly.

The most beautiful building of the area but the worst interior design. No spirit and no aesthetic. Plastic ornaments are awful. It mustn't be so hard to work with a designer or even ask pinterest what to do or not to do.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon and had excellent service in pleasant and comfortable surroundings. The cafe was busy for a Sunday afternoon but we were able to get a table and were served quickly. The food takes a wee bit of time to come as it's freshly prepared but is worth the wait. We had a pulled pork burger and a salmon and caper salad. Both dishes were tasty and well presented with more than ample portions. Reasonable pricing for the quality of the food but not the cheapest in town. Definitely worth the extra few quid though.

Have been in here as my grandson enjoys chips and cold drink. I have had several different meals here and enjoyed them but today was disappointing. Macaroni had tasteless watery with supposedly cheese sauce. Even with black pepper on it,the flavour was still missing. The garlic bread was a half baked roll with melted butter and chopped garlic.The coffee and childs chips were the only good thing. I did complain as I could make better myself.I have given 2 stars as I was not charged for macaroni and yellow watery sauce!!!

Another good lunch in here. They always have good home made soup to choose from and along with a sandwich is very filling and of good quality. On this visit my husband chose the steak and onion sandwich and he said it was delicious.

I ordered the stake wrap I thought they gave me shoe leather on a wrap The food sucks so does the service Would never eat there again or recommend.....

For £10 I've got huge sandwich and soup full of chicken. Absolutely great food, and service was class as well. Will be back for sure

We couldn't see a food menu outside, so went in. Only drinks menus on the tables. We waited a few minutes. The under-occupied staff ignored us, so we left. Apologies for bothering the staff at Amorist by appearing interested in their cafe bar.

Love going into Amorist bistro always get a HOT coffee & scone occasionally a bacon roll,the staff are pleasant & very helpful

I visited this place based on reviews on trust pilot. I ordered my food and a beer and thought while I'm waiting I'll make a short visit the mens room. When I went in someone was in the cubicle, ( I'll spare the details) I had done my thing and as I went to wash my hands the man cam out of the toilet,with his pini on and walked by the sink and straight into the kitchen. I tried calling him back but he didn't hear me.I walked back into the cafe and explained to the girl that I wished to cancel my order and why..Terrible to think that happens in this day and age.

I have twice been completely ignored by the waiting staff because I was sitting at a table off to the side of the bar. In each case, I had to go up to the bar to get attention.

had coffee and toast this a.m.. All sense of enjoyment soon vanished after i paid our bill. Coffee prces at £3+ seemed a bit more than other placs. The real shock came as i checked our bill! Two slice of very normal bread lightly toasted with usual pre wrapped portion of butter. FOUR POUNDS and NINTY FIVE pence.A loaf of bread costs approx £1 , other establishments charge around £2for toast. will never enter this greedy cafe again. .

We've eaten here several times since my last review and they have all been good....both the food and the service. The place has been altered and it's now much warmer and cosier. They do seem to have changed the name to Amorist but Im unable to locate this here.

Went here for pre dinner drinks lovely place love the decor. Drinks not cheap but nice to support new businesses in town..fab bar & cocktail selection. Give it a try

Shocking! Paid £26 for a bottle of Blossom Hill which costs £5 in the local supermarket. Whilst I appreciate the mark up of alcohol in any establishment, this is an absolute joke. When I questioned the waiter, he simply said ‘I just work here, I don’t make up the prices’ I expect to pay £26 for a half decent bottle of wine, not Blossom Hill. Felt like we had to drink it as we were told we had to pay for it. As a result, we won’t be back!

This is a good restaurant very nice coffee, tasty 4 cheese baked potato and roast veg wrap will be back when in the centre of town. Staff helpful and friendly enjoyed our time there.

We had been to visit the Garden of Heroes and walked into the pedestrian precinct to find a coffee shop. Saw Amorist and thought we would try it. Interesting place. Two massive mural type photographs on the walls which I loved. Comfortable seating and everything was clean. Staff were friendly and courteous. Covid safe. We had a flat white which was the best I've had for months. Good quality coffee rich and strong. With a well fired fruit scone. Just the way I like them. So all good and we will visit again.

First time we have eaten here since it's refurbishment, ( must they have done an excellent job of that). We both had a main meal, and dessert, All off which was excellent, Ain't and half pint off Peroni and 2 glasses off pino grisio, all for under £55. This is definitely a place I personally would recommend, Good food, excellent service, IN a place most people just walk past.

Full breakfast was pretty good. Not bad priced. Orange juice was 2.25 and not a fan of the ice in there. Staff were nice. Would try again. Worth a try for anyone looking for a quick bite

We go here quite often. We normally get soup and sandwich which is really good. It serves drinks and cocktails too but I haven't tried them. Staff are lovely and friendly too. Just note that this place can get busy so you might not get a table. Same owners as Antioch

Normally, the food is good in here but on this occasion we were served our hot drinks which we'd requested to be served with the food and then forgotten about. Other people came after us and were being served with their food so we asked for ours! I had soup which was delicious and a sandwich - the bread on this was dry on the outside suggesting it had been sitting somewhere waiting for my friend's pannini to be made. Disappointed and not offered any replacement or refund! Will think twice about visiting again.

Popped in for a lunch looking for a vegan meal. They didn't have anything specifically Vegan but we had roasted veg panini and asked no mozzarella but with pickle. Als had some fries. The food was delicious and came with a lovely side salad, we certainly felt like we were in Turkey! The only negative was that at times the waiting staff may have been a little more chatty but i don't like being negative. Lovely atmosphere as well.

Very professional and friendly staff. Impressive ex bank building tastefully decorated. Scrupulously clean. Fantastic fresh food, well prepared at competitive prices. Try a Turkish coffee, brilliant. Go on in don't go past, support local business....you won't be disappointed.

Went for the first time last week, the coffee was delicious and hot, I had a scone which came with butter and jam, it was lovely. Would go back again.

This was my first time visiting La Menta and what a fantastic experience it was. Friendly staff, quick service and stunning food! Such a pristine restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere too. We will definitely be back.

Sorry Guys but I had to ask 3 times for a bowl of soup to arrive. In the time I sat there a family of 4 who came in approx 15 mins after I came in, ate soup and sandwiches and left and I still hadn’t received my soup...a bowl of soup for goodness sake!?! When paying the bill there was absolutely no acknowledgement of the 50 minute wait. Really poor service but a pretty decent lentil soup to be fair.

Ordered sausages & scrambled eggs, the food arrived sausages were not cooked & cold, they took it away brought it back the eggs were cold & sausages cooked, I could not eat it. I wont be going back for breakfast.
