Christies Scottish Tapas Dunfermline in Fife

My self & my family enjoy visiting this restaurant the staff & atmosphere are welcoming. The food & drinks are good I don't know what's some people's problem is with this restaurant's food nit picking. It's nice to experience a restaurant what people have no been to don't expect high standards of the restaurant. Just be happy what's on the menu or just go somewhere else.

First time here after it was recommended. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The Food wasn't hot when it arrived at the table....and then quickly got colder. The use of hotplates may be a good Idea. Those of us who had a full plate to themselves were quite happy with their meal (apart from the burger largely overcooked). Far too expensive for a disappointing meal (£160+ for 6).

Lovely decor and atmosphere was calm. It took us a while to get served. The food took 40 minutes to arrive and at that point and the restaurant wasn’t busy. The food was underwhelming. We’re glad we tried it though.

Great place this, had some amazing Scottish tapas in the evening and when my nearby hotel wasn't doing breakfast, I went back for the Scottish breakfast the morning after and loved it. Staff were lovely and the place was nice too. Definitely recommend this place 😁👌

We went for a birthday dinner, 4 adults and a kid, with a bottle of wine, water, some more drinks, a burger for our son and 12 tapas we pay like £20 per person, what I strongly believe its amazing for the quality of the food and the service. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. We are very happy we celebrate the birthday at Christies 👌 As I said we had 3 tapas each and some chips, all the tapas looked AMAZING! Vegan and vegetarian tapas were great, Gnocchi and Spinach tapa was too cheesy for me but was good, truffle mushroom tapa was the best mushroom dish I ever had and the aubergine rolls was seriously good. Our son's burger was handmade and his opinion was "this is the best burger ever" 😂 I will definitely be back! EDIT: After a year we came back, this time to have breakfast and it was even better than the last time! Thanks :)

Went here cos we were an hour early for the movies. Food was good, wasn't that exciting but I wouldn't knock it.

I ordered the chicken with pineapple in sauce. But it didn’t say it had chillies in it or was very nippy. I cant eat spicy food and my tongue/mouth was on fire and my tongue was going to explode. This ruined my night. Please put on the menu if food have even a hint of anything spicy please. As not everyone can eat spicy food. The service was amazing and fast , the place looks amazing but I unfortunately don’t think I’d return again now just in case.

The food was tasty enough flavour wise but the chicken was too crispy, and the chips were soggy and cold.

Been wanting to try here for ages but unfortunately it was a real let down. We couldn’t eat half of the COLD food that had a strange aftertaste (especially the mushed up chicken in the slider and taco). The waiter asked if we wanted the food boxed up as there was so much left behind and we politely declined. This would have been a huge hint that it wasn’t very nice and maybe asked us what was wrong but nope. It was just over £50 and we left hungry and disappointed. But the bread was great…

Was in for the first time and very disappointed. Salmon dish come with no salmon had to be replaced. The meatballs were cold. Chicken wings had no meat on them..insde was dry outside was soggy!! Macaroni was the worst. Overheard waitress even complaining to chef about macaroni being runny. Could hear chef cursing and swearing when asked to Box our desert to go as he had mistakenly plated it..then try prove points with waitress about how food check was written. The food was really poor. We left most of it. Disappointed as paid £50 would have been better of going to McDonald's! The waitress was a lovely girl and decor was beautiful. Wouldn't return. Did give feedback to restaurant first before posting this review but had no reply.. obviously don't care

Chicken and caramelized onion came with tasteless boiled chicken, not recommended. Haggis and loaded fries was good. The Rockstar cocktail tasted like pure diluting juice.

Visited Christie’s for the second time while on a business trip to the Queensferry area. Found it purely by chance last time and loved it so much it was the first choice for an evening meal this trip. The food is fabulous, the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s very reasonably priced: the bill for three of us including drinks came to £108. Many of the dishes take Scottish staples like Haggis and turn it into something really quite special: I highly recommend the Haggis Bon Bon’s. Quite how they turn out quality food so reasonably I don’t know but long may they keep doing it. If you haven’t been: go. If you have been: go again and try something different. If I have any criticism at all, it would be maybe get a few more choices of draught beer, as there’s only currently a pale ale and a lager. Very pleasant, don’t get me wrong but maybe a bit of choice might go down well. The other criticism is: Why haven’t you opened a branch down South to bring the good news to the sassenachs?

Delicious Scottish tapas, so you could try out different dishes.

This is a very local restaurant for me and it’s a great addition to the Retail Park - providing a decent quality restaurant option among the normal ‘chains’. The food is always good and the Scottish Tapas twist is interesting and they do mix up the options. I have been here many times and never had a bad meal. This visit was with a friend as he finished up working locally so we had lunch. We had the 3 Tapas and a Dessert for £20 which is a good option and lots of choice. We each had 3 Tapas and it was all good as usual - Haggis Bon Bon’s are always the highlight. I had booked on line and that always works fine so we were seated quickly and offered drinks quickly. The service was good, the food hot and its a reasonable price for a nice location in Dunfermline with good service and a more interesting menu than the usual Chain - Pizza / Pasta / Burger on the Retail Park. Scottish Tapas is definitely worth trying here.

Thought we would give this place a try after hearing fabulous reviews from friends. Staff were very attentive, friendly and polite, also we asked to move to a quieter seat as a large party were in, this was done without fuss to our total satisfaction. (Thank you to the tall blond haired server). Had the 3 tapas plus pudding deal, when the food came it was stunning-between us we had 6 different food choices, and every single one tasted incredible. The highlight for me if I must say was the cream brulee - out of this world. We will definitely be back..... Thank you guys xx

New to the area I checked in Trip Advisor and saw Christie’s. So glad I did. Menu was lovely, staff even better but food was the best. Beautiful decor, spotlessly clean. I’d definitely return if I’m back in Dunfermline

Great place to bring friends and family. Food and drinks were amazing, great selection for a great price. Servers were all nice and polite. Would go back again

We had a large group in tonight. The general food was very average. The Mac and cheese was very bland. Whatever was served with the Crem Brulee was not nice at all not really edible. And the crem brulee a 6/10 at best. It was presented well and the service was very good. The espresso martinis were terrible and not fully drank for that reason. We informed our server. We were still charged full price which we did not complain about due to the fact we had to leave sharp for transport. Sadly,I would say we would not return in a hurry if at all. Out of all the dishes I tried tonight, the only one thing I would recomend is their fries. Both plain and the Scottish loaded ones were nice.

Fit us in on a Saturday night without a reservation. Staff were all really friendly and the food was delicious! Three of the tapas plates per adult is a good portion. Very clean and nicely decorated. Great selection of drinks - highly recommend the cocktails!

Lovely meal today. Had the 3 savoury and dessert option for £20. Excellent value for money. Service was a bit slow (Monday holiday) but was well worth the wait. The dessert was delicious. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Such a shame the service was so bad. The food was good except our wait for puddings. We ordered 2 and waited 50 minutes before one came out had to ask for the second and then it was obviously made and sent out after. Asked for these to be taken off the bill for the wait and were met with no apology. Manager was sending another staff member over to discuss rather than coming to speak with us herself. She told us she guaranteed we absolutely did not wait 50 minutes. Coincidently we had a member of our party timing when she had finished her meal as she had to take a blood sugar reading. Manager refused to remove it off the bill because the second one came right after the first. Even though we ordered 2 and waited that long. No apologies for the first wait offered. And regardless if the second was made right after, it was still their mistake. Also when they figured out we were still waiting they should have come and apologised then. A goodwill gesture would be to take them both off in the first place and not very rudely argue back with no apology and a very blunt explanation. Never experienced such bad and smug service from a manager. Questioning the wait time too was ridiculous wouldn’t be timing these things. Even a 20 minute wait would have been a push but to wait almost an hour and then be met with such rudeness.

We just visited here with the obvious view of having dinner, however our daughter who is vegetarian is stressed that she only liked the mac and cheese on the menu so we decided to go somewhere else. We just want to say a huge thank you to the waitress who, on hearing the problem, suggested a few alternatives for our daughter. It was good to have someone take time for customers. We still did not eat there as my daughter has anxiety issues and couldn't make up her mind but we definitely be back a the menu looked amazing.

Looked forward to trying Christine's heard good things but it turned out to be a bit of a disappointment Irn Bru chicken was dry and not particularly nice, the sauce with the garlic potatoes was like milk, some of the portions just seemed a bit mean and most of the food was lukewarm or just cold

Wasn't happy being sat in long seat next to loads of other people when there was tables free for two people to sit at .

Food is excellent, irn bru chicken is phenomenal. Will definitely be back.

Went with a friend who has food allergies. Staff were really accommodating, checking several times on what she could have and offering advice. Really excellent service. I gave the food 4 stars cos I didn't like one of the dishes I ordered but that was really on my own personal taste buds rather than any fault with what was served. Love the Scottish music and local decor. Will be back soon.

Place was very quiet when we went, only a couple of other tables in use which was fine. Ordered from the non deal items, food arrived quickly but we were disappointed with the portion size based on cost and overall quality of food. The chicken fajita tacos, consisted of 2 small 6” approx tortillas and a small amount of what tasted like extra hot old El Paso taco seasoning on shredded chicken. The meat kebab tacos were indescribable, still not sure what I was eating but certainly not what I was expecting. Think it was one piece of tough meat with some dried out, not really sure what. The best thing we had was the loaded Mexican chips and even those were not great. Value for money - poor Quality of food - average If we ever go back I think I would go for the meal deal, i would say it is better value

Booked here for sons 8th birthday for a family brekkie celebration. There was 16 of us so was asked to pay a 5 pound deposit each. Fair enough. Booked on phone and was told would come off bill no mention if some people cant come we would lose their deposit. Most of us ordered breakfasta or nutella pancakes. Pancakes portions were fab and they decorated my sons and sang happy birthday. Cooked breakfasts were good and they were accomadating to changes such as scrambled eggs rather than poached. We all commented on the potato scone it was horrible very soggy. Service from mel was fab she is a real asset to christies. Our disappointment was when bill came and we had paid deposit of 75 but only 55 was discounted we were informed because 4 people had not turned up there deposits were non refundable. We were never made aware of this on booking or even when we arrived on the day. We spent a lot of money and ordered extra drinks coffees etc so felt it was really cheeky. Also restaurant had lots of empty tables so its not like they turned people away. Personally this ruined it for us. As a family we go out lots and wont return as we all have kids unfortunately they get sick a lot and cant control theae things. Sort out your tattie scones and deposit policy and it would be 5 stars

Five adults for a birthday lunch. We had a fantastic time. Staff could not be more helpful and attentive. The food was delicious. We were not rushed, and we lingered, enjoying the company and Atmos! We really enjoyed the different tapas choices, and sharing was the order of day. Follwed up with cocktails and delicious deserts. Staff brought out a birthday brownie with a candle, and we all sang Happy Birthday, including staff and fellow diners!

We were there for an early lunch (noon) so VERY quiet. Friendly service an reasonable prices.

Really disappointed in the food here. When reading the menu it had the potential to be really good. The food arrived and it was cold, bland and dry. I got the bonnie wee onion, should have been roasted it looked boiled and flung on the plate, Scottish donner kebab - unsure what meat it actually was and haggis Bon bons they were okay but the whisky sauce was cold and had been left sitting and formed a skin on it. All my friends were underwhelmed by their dishes too, one friend got the sliders - a small meatball popped on a dry roll no sauce, looked disgusting. I have given 2 stars as the interior is nice and modern and the waiter was pleasant. However food was really poor.

First time here after seeing Christie’s on Tik Tok and was not disappointed. Portions were perfect for the Tapas £20 for 3 selections and a pudding. We left feeling full and will be back. I would have like to have seen more options for the deal we had but choice of tapas was still good. IE the steak pie or Scottish kebab tacos. Mel delivered exceptional customer service, very attentive, nothing was too much bother. she explained everything on menu to us as first timers. My friend dropped her fork, Mel was straight over with a clean one. Total attention to detail. We had lattes to finish off and Michael served us these. again attentive asking if we wanted sugar, I actually thought he was going to put it in my latte for me. That’s how great the service was, we actually laughed thinking he was going to do this for me. There was no rush to vacate our table or pressured into “ do we want anything else”. Both Mel and Michael thanked us on way out, I made a joke about not opening the door for us. They were straight on it. Such fun staff and an outstanding experience for us.

I live close to this restaurant and have been several times. This time I had lunch with a friend and we had been there before so know the concept and had a good lunch. We had the lunch deal of 3 Tapas and a dessert for £20 which is reasonable. We had a range of dishes and they were all fine - no issues and what we expected. I had booked a table - think they have changed their online booking process and it’s better than the previous one - pretty slick and I had to change the booking and that was very simple. The restaurant was virtually empty when we arrived at 12.30 but they did sit us right next to the only other table being used. They seemed to do that during lunch and it was a bit odd and I noticed one couple arrive and just say No when they again were being seated in the same small section. I know it’s probably easier when it’s quiet but that’s not ideal - next time I think I’d just ask to be seated elsewhere. Good lunch option - nice decor, good food and no issues.

This will be the second time I have been to Christies now and both times it has delivered. I went with my Fiancee this time and she loved it as much as I thought she would. Atmosphere and decor is outstanding and the service was second to none. As for the food, there is something for everyone and the 3 tapas and a pudding for £20 a head is an amazing offer that makes it a reasonable option for many. Would highly recommend.

Lovely restaurant and good staff but the food was disappointing. Really loved the concept of Scottish tapas, but the haggis balls, and the chicken wings were exceptionally dry and overcooked and the fish was so overdone it was chewy.

Absolutely fabulous meal. Welcome staff super friendly and helpful. We were here for my husbands birthday on arrival he was welcomed with a happy birthday and a hand shake from the lovely man at the door. Mel Cane was our waitress she took us over to our table, explained how it all worked as it was our first time. Mel was lovely & friendly - very helpful keep an eye on us if we needed anything. The food was delicious, we all ordered 3 plates each (there was 3 of us) and we shared between us. Overall we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend anyone to go there and we will be back!

The environment is lovely . The waiter was fine. The food was not to my liking , dry and overcooked, fish and chips then gnocchi . The crème brulee was excellent but zero compensation made for the fact I needed GF , my husband was given flapjack , I was given nil to replace the flapjack. I don’t think I’ll be back tbh.

We had a wonderful experience visiting Christie’s for the first time. The restaurant had lovely decor and we received a very warm welcome. Our server for the evening was Chloe who was super friendly, attentive and down to earth. We were shocked at how quickly our food and drink came - everything was piping hot, fresh and delicious! The value for money was brilliant and we left very happy. Thank you so much Christie’s!

Our second time back and we could not have been happier. The service was spot on, attentive whilst not overwhelming. The food was wonderful with enough of a selection for all tastes. The atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend.

Some lovely food set in a modern looking ,clean restaurant with a Scottish theme. Loved the use of cake stands for the tapas. Pick carefully though as some just vastly overpriced for what u get.

Excellent food and service. 1st visit here and menu explained competently explain. Food was plentiful and beautifully presented. Definitely won’t be our last visit

First time visiting with 8 other friends. Lovely decor and tableware. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I had mac&cheese with fajita chicken taco. Mac and cheese was just OK and taco were flavoursome although filling was cold which wasn't the best. Had brownie for desert. Was lovely but would have preferred it warm. Will return with family to try other things on menu

We visited for breakfast. We'd been before, and I chose the vegan breakfast, but it wasn't great at the time. So, this is an edited review for our recent excellent visit. This time, we had no issues at all. All 4 of us had a lovely breakfast. The sevice was great, friendly and attentive. The restaurant is lovely and clean. The food was fresh and well cooked, and the portions were generous. Great value for money too. I'm glad we gave the breakfast another try. It really was very good.

My first visit after recommendation was mainly positive. The restaurant is bright warm and inviting. Staff were attentive and prices very reasonable. Ordered from the menu a set of three Scottish tapas opting for the prawn cocktail, Scottish kebab taco and turkey dinner taco. The restaurant was busy but the food was still delivered around 30 minutes after ordering which was good. Started with the prawns serviced in a glass dish and was well presented and tasty. The tacos were served in a wire metal holder, the problem was that after eating the first prawn dish the taco fillings had went cold, I still finished them but do like my food to be hot tbh. Not sure if it was possible to have the small dishes brought out separately but in hindsight this may have solved this issue. During dining it became apparent that there was another menu that had been available for the weekend “burns taster menu” after looking at the Facebook page it stated it was only on over this weekend and if you wanted to try it you had to make that clear at the point of booking a table - had I had known prior to booking I would have opted for that. This wasn’t mentioned over the phone when we booked or when we entered the restaurant, I thought it should have been. Overall a good experience but a few niggles that could be easily resolved.

Our first visit today. I’d heard loads about this place so was really excited, we picked the 3 tapas and a pudding for £20 each what a bargain… however we were so disappointed with the food. The turkey dinner tacos were really dry and no gravy which was stated on the menu, there were also meant to be chips inside.. there was one chip in one taco (there were 2 tacos) the peppercorn and haggis loaded fries just didn’t have any taste, the chips were over done and really soggy like they had been cooked earlier and reheated in the microwave, we had x3 dishes with chips, the ones I’ve already spoke about, gravy and cheese ones, and ones with the fish and chips so they let down all 3 dishes sadly. The mac and cheese was meant to be crumbed with brocolli and cheese which again just tasted like microwave mac and cheese with a little bit of cheese on top that had melted in the microwave. Was all a bit bland, the haggis bon bons were just balls of haggis we’ve had them many times before where they are properly battered or a thicker crumb these were barely covered and soft. I will say the cheesecake was wonderful. There was only us and one other table in the restaurant so quiet, the decor was great and we loved the little posters with Scottish jokes or phrases, irn bru ice cream would be a shout! We might be back to give it another try as it might have just been an off day. Katie was wonderful and spoke us through the whole menu and was very smiley

Food was lovely,apart from my fish which was very overcooked, staff were friendly although a little slow but we all enjoyed it and would go back.

Had a nice pre Christmas meal here. All mains/tapas were great but dessert was a let down, clearly not made on premises and expensive for bought in stuff. Cocktails were good. Will definitely come back again.

Decided to have a meal on NYE in a local Dunfermline restaurant and what better place than Christie’s? Service start to finish was top class. Staff were attentive and helpful. Drinks and food were brought quickly and well presented. Tasted as good as they looked. Haggis Bon Bon’s, Mac & cheese and garlic tatties. Black Forest surprise was my choice of desert and hubby had the sundae. Fantastic. Highly recommend for a place to eat. Only one negative of the evening and that is the table we were seated at was very close to the next table. There is a row of tables for groups of two up one side of the room and it felt like we were eating with strangers as they are very close together.

Been here a few times and it’s always been good but went last night for a Xmas night out and it was exceptional. Food was the best I’ve had there and service was friendly and accommodating. The boss even gave a couple of my pals a fancy pint glass each to take home when they asked if they could buy them. Great stuff and apologies if a few sweary words sneaked out from the more lubricated members of our party.
