La Lavella in Merton

Poor quality food. Previously frequented this cafe, but maybe it's under new management?? Chips ordered were decent but I wanted a toasted sandwich which came about 7 mins after my daughter's food. This was pale, dry and tastless. There was no spread in it and had hardly been toasted. It's a shame.

AVOID - This eatery is dirty. Needs a good steam clean from top to bottom. The floor is dirty. The tables and chairs are stained, old and dirty as well as the counter area where orders are placed. Dust is everywhere. Some of the doors are kept opened so all the mess from outside gets blown in but the place isn’t kept clean. The ladies bathroom is in a complete state of disrepair with mould on the wall. If you touch the loo roll, the holder immediately drops onto the dirty floor because it is hanging by a thread. There’s some sticky mess in the corner that looks like rubber or something. It’s there to obviously block something??? In addition, the staff needs to be sent to charm school. Customer service is appalling. I’ve sent some photos to Environmental Health to review. Sooner or later, someone might die of salmonella or other types of food poisoning. Unbelievable!!!

The best food ever.. I enjoy the food there the manager is friendly and very kind…i liket the view.

Has this place changed management?Been here a few times, but this last visit was disappointing. Food was OK, but we were definately overcharged based on what we ordered and I'm sure the waitress knew. Won't be found back in a hurry.

I ordered food and paid additional for the product. Food arrived, busy restaurant, so I did not bother the staff. On my way out, I updated the manager about what had happened. I was told off, because I failed to alert the manager when the meal was served. Told that the chef is busy and got it wrong, which is fine. No offer of money back for the item thy forgot, I was not so concerned about that. My concern was the aggressive, argumentative and unhelpful manager, who really does not care or appear to have any pride with the business. Cleanliness is a issue, condiment/salt and pepper not appeared to be clean and the place is 'sticky' needs a good bottle of bleach. Alas I wont' go again. It's all very slapdash.

Had a great night with friends, live music on weekends,food is excellent the new chef, top draw. I recommend to you all

After waiting almost 25 minutes for a panini to come out for my other half I had to wait another 10 minutes for a cold baguette to come out then another 5 minutes for the chips to come out. See if you can beat our experience of having only 4 small cubed pieces of avocado in your chicken and avocado panini

First of all let me just start by saying that the food is actually really nice, no problems there to be fair. But my god the staff! I ordered an iced coffee which literally took ages. I went to check to see where it is and was scolded by a very angry looking blonde lady to go and sit back down as it was coming. Waited other ten minutes….still no coffee. It came eventually and by then I didn’t even want it. So I suffer from IBS and went to use the toilet and without looking went into the ladies toilet by mistake as you do, came out to be scolded by an angry little man who proceeded to tell me off so I apologised went back outside and sat down. HE CAME BACK to have a go at me again in front of my auntie who I was with and in front of loads of customers and really embarrassed me so after that we left and my aunt wasn’t one bit impressed in the slightest! Moral of the story, if you want to be served by people with absolutely no people skills at all and wanna be shouted out for using the wrong toilet, this place will probably be your jam. Foods good though.

We went there on Tuesday, wasn’t too busy yet we waited quite a lot to be served. Food was ok. We were super surprised they refused give us the government discount despite being on the list because my husband bought a beer! Also they take cash only which itself is quite dodgy!

I love this cafe, I always make a visit when I'm in London visiting family. Delicious falafel and my brother enjoys the shish kebabs. Coffee very good too. Nice, strong flat white. They manage to prepare Lavazza coffee very well. Value for money and large portions. Win win!

Was feel like my back was burning from the staff staring at my back and giving us bad looks had to leave after staff being very rude and the owner didn't give a s****. Can get very loud

Went here to grab a last minute meal alone as am going through house renovations and my kitchen is not there whilst it’s being done. I live local and it’s always a busy place with builders and who may be local resident so thought it can’t be so bad. Checked the hygiene rating before going in, and was 4/5. I thought ok. I Ordered a basic small chicken shish. Whilst I waited I watched a man sharpening a large knife and then wiping it on a daily dirty looking yellow microfibre cloth, sharpen it again and then carve with it. Luckily this wasn’t my meal. My chicken skewer itself seemed fine to eat. The side salad was a average with a random mushroom and pepper thrown in. The naan was a basic naan probably from over the road at Iceland or LIDL not warm or seasoned or cut. Then there’s the garlic sauce... I think it must have been watered down because it didn’t even stick to the chicken. Horrid. £6 I should have taken to KFC. Won’t be returning.

came as a family for a quick lunch...as usual had kebab lunch offer. so delicious and huge portion. will continue to come and recommend.

This is a well located cafe/restaurant on a corner site opposite Morden tube station. Pleasant atmosphere with Turkish football on the TV when we visited for lunch. There is a very wide choice of standard caff food and Turkish/Middle Eastern dishes, My mixed doner was good value for money and my son's spaghetti bolognaise was enormous. Quality was average; service efficient. Good coffee and a range of cakes and desserts. A place to stop by if you are in the area.

We went for breakfast & thoroughly enjoyed it. We both ordered omelettes & a hot drink. The omelettes were huge & delicious, they come with chips & salad. Friendly & efficient service. Not the best coffee. We have already been back, my boyfriend goes there every week.

The menu covers a varied food selection for all tastes, the kebabs are excellent and so are the roasts. The atmosphere is pleasant and it is a good place for lunch or dinner.

Have been here twice now and the coffee of the day is always nice, we had fried egg on brown toast which was a bit cold eggs not quite so runny but soft. Handy place for a quick simple bite before getting on the tube. No table service though you need to order and pay 1st inside and they bring to the table.

The staff are absolutely lovely. The foods is super fresh and non-greasy. Their coffee is lovely and smooth, nothing bitter.I go there quite a lot. It's a great place to meet up with friends, before or after a night out. They stay open 'til late, so I often go there for a late coffee with friends.It's right opposite Morden Underground Station.

El Servicio es excelente, siempre pendientes, cordiales y de lo más amable que puedes encontrar si viajas a Inglaterra.Y la comida ... muy rica, el zumo de naranja natural, los cafés , verdura asada y la carne a la brasa muy deliciosas. Los desayunos combinados al mejor precio segurísimo. Nos hemos alojado cerca del restaurante y todas las mañanas tomamos un buen desayuno completo, nos preparan los bocadillos o comida para llevar y así nos olvidamos de buscar lugar para comer mientras hacemos nuestras excursiones por Londres y alrededor, al final del día por la noche, agotados, nos sirven una sopa casera recien hecha o una cena familiar .

This place used to be lovely but the service and quality are awful now. It also had a 0 hygiene rating at one point.

It's not fine dining but they are not trying to do that either. Good food, plenty and we loved it.

Lots of smokers and cigarette buts outside cafe. Very cheap ingredients used basic food Wouldn't go back again.

I visited here today for breakfast. Initially I liked the look of it because it has lots of variety on the menu, looked comfortable, and was well positioned opposite the tube. I ordered scrambled eggs on toast with a sausage and a coffee. I would have thought that was a fairly safe choice, pretty hard to get that wrong ? Well, they completely surprised me. My scrambled 'egg' was made from a packet mix, generic white toast (probably from the Lidl across the road), a sausage that was so tasteless and over cooked it must have been done in a deep fat fryer, and cut in half, it looked like it had been run over with a truck. The sauces, which I felt compelled to use to help improve the taste was , again, more generic cheap chemical-based gunge from the Happy Shopper cash & carry.....I swear the ketchup looked like it might glow in the dark ;). Coffee was acceptable, but, again, generic and tasteless Lavazza...... I could buy some from the Lidl across the Rd and make my own at home...but I'll not hold that against them, at least it wasn't instant. I'm sure some of the other stuff on their menu is better, but when so little creativity or care goes into one of the worlds simplest dish, I didn't feel inspired to come back and find out. Service and ambience was very good, they also serve alcohol (with food) and do Turkish style lunch and diners. I guess a place like this will always sink to the level of the lowest common denominator, and I can appreciate it's difficult to cater for everyone (and La Lavella certainly tries to), but just doing a few things really well is always going to win over a lot of things done badly in my opinion.... because this meal I just had was an insult to any customer, they may as well have just slapped me in the face.

Cafe style Turkish place, you make your choice then order at the counter. Ordered a chicken kebab and the plate was filled. I couldn't eat it all, too much for me. It was ok and reasonably priced. Service was quick and ok.

We only stopped here for drinks, but the menu looked good. The service was pleasant and the drinks were reasonably priced.

Popped in for lunch with work colleague Abdul. The kofte kebab I ordered was nice. Nothing special. But the service was so poor and rude. How difficult is it to bring over 2 drinks? Asked 4 times before the wrong drinks headed our way. I won't be going again. ...ever.

This is two restaurants in one - an all round café doing burgers, breakfasts, fish and chips, café fare, and a Turkish kebab section at the far end.

This isn't my first trip to this Cafe & to be fair I'm surprised I've given it another chance-today is the last chance.

We had a lunch here today...both had special offer...kebab chips salad and drink for 5 pounds.

Came here for a quick lunch with work colleagues, loads of choice - something for everyone. Quick efficient service. Had a coronation chicken baguette - was really tasty with a good side salad. Be aware they only take cash

This cafe-style restaurant is right opposite Morden Underground station. It offers a variety of food options (from "full English" to Turkish kebabs and dishes). The tables are formica and it is not stylish dining, but the quality, quantity and value-for-money of the food is excellent.

I go here every lunch time to have tea with a friend. The staff are lovely, the food is nice and their kebabs are the best.

We were looking for somewhere to eat quickly on Sunday and came across La Lavella. Was busy and looked good and did not disappoint, and at a good price. Tasty panini and saw some great kebabs going to other tables.
