La Fonte in Corby

Popped in on the off chance one weekday evening. It's been a while since we ate here but the food, the service and the ambience were still as good as it ever was. A wide ranging menu covering all the Italian classics as well as some other options, La Fonte give you the opportunity to return time and again without repeating your orders. Polite, gracious service and very tasty food made us glad we chose to visit. They also do take away food. Bookings at certain times are a good idea as it is often busy when walking past (esp. on Friday and Saturday evenings).

The best Italian in Corby. Always great service and lots of variety. Also do fast take away. Food comes piping hot, freshly made.

Fantastic quality food excellent value for money and superb service . Independents are the best and beat the chains hands down every time .

Visited with my friend for an impromptu visit on a Monday night. They weren't too busy but there was a nice atmosphere still. The waitresses were very kind and attentive, and the food was great! Very tasty and great value for money. Will definitely be returning! :-)

We were made to feel very uneasy, restaurant was empty by 9 o’clock. The staff had cleaned the tables around us. Kitchen lights were off and this was only 9:15. Staff stood behind bar with keys in hand and looking at us as if to say “how much longer are you going to be”. Food wasn’t very hot, no one came to see if our meals were ok !! Have to say we won’t be back.

The staff where friendly and very helpful to accommodate my family of 5, the food was to highest stand and would come back here when I am back in the area.

Popped in for dinner tonight and have to say staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was excellent. Food was hot and cooked to perfection. .

Looked forward to trying this restaurant as heard great things. Very busy, good sign! Service was very slow but it was busy. My friends main of lemon chicken was lovely however the carbonara was very disappointing. Too much cream and not enough egg or cheese. Asked for Parmesan which was taken from another table then another table asked for the cheese and it was taken from my table without a “have you finished with this” there was hardly any left. The lady who received it laughed at the amount. Probably wouldn’t go back again stick to Veneto’s in Market Harborough. Good service and cheese is grated at your table.

The food was ok, and reasonably priced, the service was not so great. I appreciate that it was busy with two large parties, but we weren’t offered a second drink or any dessert and I had to go to the counter to ask for the bill after waiting for quite a while. We got dessert from Tesco on the way home. On the odd occasion that we saw any waiting staff, they were pleasant enough.

We dropped in before going to see a show at the cube, the staff were lovely and managed to squeeze us in. Food was delicious, highly recommend the calzone and the garlic and chili fries.

It was our first visit and certainly NOT our last!! Excellent service. Excellent menu choice. Will definitely be returning

We have only had takeaway from here before and decided to pop in for lunch.Offered the lunch menu as well as the main menu and we chose to order from the main menu. There was plenty to choose from, and when the food arrived it was piping hot and absolutely delicious, there was plenty of it, we went away very happy with our choices. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Came into town to go to prezzo but it was closed, so thought we would try here. Walked in and we were only the second table (midweek lunch) and it soon packed out. It’s just a little place, so I would recommend booking to guarantee a table. The lunch menu is excellent value, with many option for under £8. Portions are plentiful, I couldn’t finish mine and really tasty. Looking forward to coming back again.

Have been meaning to visit for a long time and now we have we will return again soon. Excellent food and great customer service. The garlic mushroom starter is one of the best dishes I have ever tasted.

Having heard this restaurant was so good we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did! My husband had pizza and I had the Dan Good chicken skewers as I am dieting and this was great to see on a restaurant menu. I didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was so tender and the vegetables with them were so fresh, rice as well. All tasty. We had a couple of drinks. Will definately come back again. It's great to know that a restaurant of this quality is in our home town. The staff were good as well.

eating here is like watching ghostbusters, its okay, cheesy and you know what is going to happen, please change the menu, it was the same 4 years ago. its was tasty but just starting to get dated.

We have visited la Fonte on many occasions, unfortunately out last visit left us disappointed ! We visited late afternoon, the starters were lovely, I had the chicken skewers with vegetables and potatoes, the skewers are supposed to be wrapped in pancetta? No pancetta as described on the menu, the roast potatoes were burnt on the bottom and tasted like they have been re heated ( not sure if they were from the day before ) the broccoli was tasteless like frozen broccoli very disappointing, maybe it was a bad day! But definitely felt like some of the food was re heated, unfortunately this has put me off returning again.

Found ourselves hungry whilst in Corby for the day and found this place online, so booked a table. Food was very reasonably priced, great varied menu, food very hot and tasty , also the service was on point! Would highly recommend abd definitely revisit if in the area.

We had a very nice meal here - the calamari, the steak pasta dish and the chilli garlic fries were very good indeed - only downside was that the calzone was slightly underwhelming with filling and taste. But apart from that, a winner.

Group of friends visited for our collective birthdays. We were welcomed in & had an extensive choice from the lunchtime menu & the main menu. Friendly, attentive service. We all enjoyed our main course & all opted for warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream....

I’ve visited here a few times now under the new ownership. I struggle to see the fuss. The service is poor, the food is far from authentic Italian, pretty sure the pizza bases were from frozen. It’s not terrible but if your looking for an authentic Italian this isn’t it. Overhyped and bang average

Had a really good time last night at the restaurant. Even though the weather was severe outside the place was packed, which says a lot about the venue. Between us we had all three courses. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and the banter with the staff. If you're looking for great Italian food (one of our party is from Italy - they loved it) then there's no better place to come to.

We were a party of 4, and although the restaurant is compact we had plenty of room. We ordered starters and mains which arrived on time and were a good size and well presented. Well priced food and wine. The service was also excellent.We are visiting Corby monthly at the moment so this will be our default place to eat. Strongly recommend

My wife and I decided to try the well priced lunch menu and we were not disappointed (£10.95 for 2 courses and £13.95 for 3 courses). We walked in and were seated by a chirpy, nice young lady. We ordered a drink each and whilst we waited for our food we were presented with a small warm fresh roll and some butter, lovely. I started with a lovely bowl of tomato soup with a small slice of fresh bread, which I thoroughly enjoyed. My wife had some fresh cheesy garlic bread, which also hit the spot. For our mains I had a homemade hamburger with fries and a small side salad, my wife had pasta funghi with some chicken added to it. My meal appeared nicely presented and my wife's meal came out in a bowl with bubbling mozzarella on top, both meals looked and tasted so good. Throughout our meal the waitress was attentive but not annoying and very friendly and helpful.We will definately return.

Excellent place to eat. We came here for lunch and the food was very good. The staff are excellent and attentive was not being over pushy.The olives of starters were really good as they were actually quite small.We had a variety of main courses ranging from burger risotto and pasta all of which were very tasty.I would recommend this restaurant for variety and choice of food all of which is freshly prepared.

I was excited to visit La Fonte as I'd followed their posts on Facebook for some time. We had not eaten there since the new owners took over. The starters were average. The garlic bread pizza was almost £7, it wasn't the best I've had and certainly not worth the price. My Dad said his mushrooms tasted under-cooked. All our main courses were good but expensive for what they were, the vegan gnocchi being £13 and a fairly basic veggie spaghetti was £10. My Mum pointed out that we weren't offered Parmesan, this is usually fairly standard in an Italian restaurant. I found the service to be substandard with a wait of almost an hour for our meals. No one came to check if we were happy with our food, to ask if we wanted more drinks or even to thank us and say goodbye as we got up to leave.

This small restaurant is always busy and the atmosphere is good. More air conditioning is needed as it is very steamy and humid.

Amazing stuck to tradition and customer service was amazing the waitress was extremely fit with a big bum could go again just to stare like u did last time

Fabulous meal here recently. First time we've visited since the new owners bought it out and really very impressed by what they have done. The restaurant is now stylish & much more friendly. Food and wine were delicious and the staff were very efficient. Looking forward to returning!

Called in for breakfast which was superb staff were very pleasant & helpful breakfast was cooked to perfection no complaints at all well done " la fonte" would recommend here for breakfast

Me and my fiancé come to La Fonte all the time. The food tastes so good and the portion size is just right! We love the small atmosphere with the dimmed lighting to set the mood! Staff are all lovely aswell.

Have always had a good meal until today Disappointed ,the minestrone soup consisted mainly of broad beans and my lasagna was burnt obviously over cooked in the microwave

Excellent food and a comprehensive menu, highly recommended, we were spoiled for choice. I had the seafood risotto, which was outstanding.

The restaurant is very small and so many windows it's a little uncomfortable with people looking in as they walk past. Staff aren't exactly the nicest but not rude. Food struggles to be authentic Italian when its run by Indians/Pakistanis and they cook the food. Flavours are ok. Presentation is ok. Nothing more or less. Prices though are a little more than they should be for what you get.

This place has a Lovely atmosphere and great food I had the the pizza and it tasted like the pizza on the high street in Italy it was amazing I can’t wait to go back there again would strongly recommend this place if you like Italian food

Went for an evening meal as part of a friend's son's 18th birthday celebrations. Given my lat experience of an Italian in Corby was Prezzo and I left a dire review on that one, I was hoping it would be an improvement.

Very friendly welcoming restaurant with lovely staff I have been a few time now with, family and friends and everyone has always had a lovely meal. Even my two boys love the junior menu. The only thing I can fault on is the olives but they are ok it’s the only thing I can think off that was not 100% as small olives but that is the only fault!

Didn't enjoy the food, chicken tasted like rubber, wasnt very well seasoned & very expensive. Best to book in advance but I wont eat there again. It was nice & clean and staff friendly.

La fonte is one of the best if not the best restaurant in corby, been several times and never had a bad meal, food outstanding and staff amazing and the ginger and lime cheesecake is to die for ....definitely worth a visit

We went to this lovely little Italian restaurant last night. I have to say it is probably the tastiest Italian meal I have ever had! Beautifully cooked and delicious! Great friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. If you’re wondering whether to go... do it! You won’t be disappointed!

Booked a table which was ready but by the door a bit cool. It was busy a night quite noisey . I found the service rather slow but that could be because busy. The food was amble and well cooked and enjoyed by all. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would go again but on a quieter night.

I went for a meal with my wife on 12/01/19 before going to the cinema. I have tried to book twice before and it was fully booked, so I must admit, I was expecting something special. The food was okay, but that really is the best I could say abut it. You will enjoy it but don't expect high cuisine.

Me and my husband decided to visit for a meal after being recommended by others. We booked our table and were shown to it immediately, it was right by the door though so was a bit cold! Service was fine but wasn’t asked if we wanted another drink after we finished our first.waited for a bit as the restaurant was probably 80% full but in the end had to ask. We ordered garlic mushroom starter , a pasta dish each and cheesy garlic bread. The mushrooms were nice enough and the garlic bread was so nice! The pasta however was very average if not below average, I had one that had a tomato sauce and chicken in. The chicken wasn’t sufficient at all and the pasta sauce had no veg in so just felt like a stir in sauce? Because of this I feel the prices don’t match the food, pasta is cheap anyway so you assume pasta in an Italian being more expensive would be particularly good.

Food was amazing. I had gnocchi with salmon, in a creamy spinach and white sauce and it tasted fabulous, my partner had the 32oz steak which was cooked to perfection. This is are second time to this restaurant and both times the food has been out standing...The staff are very attentive and friendly and I would highly recommend it for a visit.

This is the second time we have been here and really like it. Have to book for a Saturday night as not huge and very popular. I had the steak with pasta which is my favourite and can’t get it in most Italians. Also asked for chilli with it and it was perfect. Four people food and drinks £110 which is very good value

Lovely food I would defiantly go back there again . The staff were friendly and helpful. One thing we didn’t like was they took the plates away before some of us hadn’t quite finished..

Decided to eat here on the recommendation of my Son. Glad we did. Lovely little place. Really good menu. Not cheap but not to expensive either. There were 6 of us eating along with a 12 month old child and the service was excellent. Food was piping hot when it came out and tasted delicious. We ate at 4pm and just after that it started to get quite busy so if you want to eat here probably best to book a table or you could be disappointed. While we were there there were people ringing for a table for that night ( Saturday ) only to be told they were fully booked. I would definitely recommend La Fonte to my friends and we will be back here soon I hope.

my daughter and son in law took me here for a birthday meal before our holiday , we all ordered a pasta dish and when it arrived was shocked at the small amount we got , it was tasty but no more so than a jar of pasta sauce brought from a super market a real let down and not cheep either . won't be returning

I hadn't been here for years as the previousmowners put me off. When we heard there was new management we decided to try again. We were pleased we did, what a difference. Good food, lots of selection and good value too. Service staff were excellent too.

We walked in last Friday night without a booking saying we wanted to be in & out in 45 mins since we were going to a show. The staff were really friendly & very helpful & the food was excellent. We will be back.

Although food was tasty, waiting time was a little long and value for money was poor due to portion size being quite small. I'm not a big eater but still thought it was small. Place was cozy and nice but overall nothing to write home about.

I have visited this little gem 3 times over the last few months and have to say the food is sublime. Corby doesn’t have a great deal of good restaurants but this one is better than good. The food is so fresh and tasty and the staff are fabulous. Definitely worth going to.

I visited this restaurant twice in July for mums birthday. The second time was a surprise family get together. The staff and the meal were excellent on both occasions. The manager helped me with storing the cake, setting up the banners and balloons. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Excellent food and very personable staff and atmosphere.

It was a work group of 30 and lunch was laid on perfectly. A choice of courses, sensibly priced, great staff attention and all after its been recently taken over my a new management team. The change of decoration has added a more restaurant feel. Always nice to pop out for lunch, maybe book a table for an evening visit as it gets busy.

So pleased we picked this place instead of the chain restaurants over the road. It was an early dinner, 5pm, the service was swift without being rushed. The menu was varied and the food was delicious and just the right size potions. I was able to swap the type of pasta for my dish without any fuss. The waitresses were polite and friendly without being overly so. We are already planning to return.

Me and my partner came to la fonte today to try the new lunch menu and we were very impressed! The food was great (I had the marinated grilled chicken & my partner had the carbonara) it was two courses for £10.75 I believe, so we also had bruschetta and some cheesy garlic bread! The woman who served us so was polite and welcoming (makes a different from the old owners who weren’t the nicest, and used to stand around watching you eat - very uncomfortable!) but she was lovely! We had our 4 month old son with us who kept making noises but she was lovely to him, chatting away to him so that made us feel very welcome. Good food, good value, and the revamp looks great! Will definitely be back to enjoy the lunch menu again!

Had our first meal at La Fonte with the new owners and really enjoyed our evening. Original chefs still there so the Penne Arabiatta was delicious as always. Pleasant surprise to have homemade desserts and I had strawberry cheesecake it was divine.

We went one night through the week to celebrate my dads birthday with some friend of theirs.

this was hired for a birthday party, the staff were really helpful land friendly, catered for all our needs including children

Visited on a friend's recommendation. It was ok, but not outstanding. We shared a cold platter of antipasti - I felt it was a little over priced for what we got - 3 pieces of salami, 3 of proscuitto, 4 slices of mozzeralla - the rest of the plate were olives and grilled peppers, mushrooms and aubergines - which were cold, I had expected them to be warm. My husband had mixed grill, which was ok but nothing special. I had carbonara with added chicken. I have never seen a carbonara swimming in sauce before, there was a lot of liquid - It looked like a bowl of soup with pasta in it - I think it had been made with cream - hence there was so much of it (not true carbonara). The chicken wasn't a great texture either, it felt like it had been precooked and then reheated. Homemade Tiramisu was excellent and hubby liked the tutti frutti cassata. Service was very good, very attentive. Overall, an average dining experience a little on the expensive side for what it was

Myself and my wife had a lovely meal following an afternoon visit to the cinema opposite. My wife had lamb with a mushroom sauce, rosemary potatoes and veg,I had pork in a mushroom sauce with fries and a salad with dressing. Before the mains we had a complimentary dish of bread with garlic butter. This together with a glass of merlot each rounded off a pleasant afternoon. Good service, good meal and reasonable price what more could you want?

We were a party of 8. the food was ok, nothing that I can't make at home though. The staff were excellent. the drinks were overpriced. I did enjoy my meal though.

As usual food was very good, wasnt too busy for a Thursday night. Came for my birthday meal. Food cooked fresh, friends calamri was perfect and he is a fussy eater! Birthday cake came out after meal and the whole restaurant joined in singing lol...

Visited on a Saturday night , 4 of us at 7.30pm. Restaurant was nearly full, nice atmosphere and staff were friendly. Three of us had pasta dishes and one of us chicken risotto. I asked for my steak pasta to have chilli added to make it spicy and this was done perfectly. We had bruschetta & olives to start and 4 bottles of wine, total bill £118, good value for money and will visit again.

I've been here alot and the food is always amazing and the atmosphere is normally nice and relaxing.

The food here is absolutely gorgeous. There's nowhere in town that can compete. Staff are not overly friendly but let's face it, you don't go out for dinner to engage with the staff.
