Only good thing about place was our host. Food - ramen very bland; no spice or much flavour My drink had some floaty dirt thing in it; I sent it back and they just fished it out rather then made new one. Won’t be returning Dont bother with this place

Disappointing ramen, the flavour was uninteresting, nearly no cheese flavour in the chizu ramen, and the breading from the chicken disintegrated into the broth and became very soggy. There was a knot of glued-together noodles in the middle of mine also. The portion size is small, though I'm not opposed to this at half price on a Tuesday, I'd be pretty upset at full price. I also found the yuzu & honey drink uninspired, it tasted like cheap lemon/lime cordial, no hint of honey. Since I was dining solo I got a table quite quickly, but note that they only take walk-ins and that the queue at the door is *not* the queue to eat, it's the queue to get on the waiting list. I queued for about 15 mins outside at 6:30pm on a Tuesday and heard at that point it would be a 30-40 min wait for the couple ahead of me. Service was a bit overrun but friendly. Atmosphere is very tight, I think they've overfilled the venue a bit but it's a limited space to begin with.

This has become one of my favourite restaurants around Ancoats and the Northern Quarter. We were served by Zoe, who was super friendly and helped me decide on my food and cocktail. I had the black cod croquettes, and followed the recommendation of the tonkotsu and the sour cerise margarita. It was all delicious. We were seated down the side of the bar, where it’s a bit difficult to get in and out, but I was just happy there were seats available as it was around 7:30 on a Friday evening and you can’t reserve a table. It was a great meal, and I’ll definitely be back. I’m eager to take advantage of the weekday offers, where on certain days they offer half price sushi or ramen.

Had my birthday meal here and wish I chose somewhere else if I’m honest. The service was good and the bao buns were delicious but the ramen was underwhelming and lacking flavour (albeit good quality noodles - but don’t really deliver if they don’t taste of anything). Parts of the egg white were undercooked and wobbly and my friend picked her duck out of hers. Also the edamame beans tasted like burned plastic. They also advertise Mondays as 50% off on their Instagram bio but when it came to paying they said it’s only on ramen as the statement has a ramen emoji next to it. Attached a pic surely I’m not the only one who would think food is 50% off by looking at that. 2 small starter bao buns were £13 which we wouldnt have ordered if we thought we were paying full price. Also they ran out of sushi. After learning this my friend asked for something else, which also wasn’t in stock, she asked for another, that wasn’t in stock. Her 4th option was finally in stock.

One of the best meals we’ve had in a long time and definitely some of the best ramen i’ve ever had, went on a wednesday where we got 50% off sushi which was also amazing. Would recommend for any ramen lovers or even anyone who’s not tried it before. Would recommend you get there abit earlier before opening as it does fill up quite quickly due to it being a smaller venue.

Fantastic time, service was great, especially Pippa! She recommended the Misu Ma which I really enjoyed, also a big shout on the edamame beans, never had them charred before! Game changer.

My favourite ramen restaurant! Love it here and the food is always amazing with great service.

Was here solo on a Sunday, early evening. The atmosphere was modern, but it did feel a bit packed. Not really the cleanest either. The Buddha Bowl ramen I had was nice, flavoursome, and felt well composed. Staff checked if I wanted the egg or not. Staff attitude varied quite a bit, some friendly, others not so much at all.

Updated from 5* to 3 given 3 times in the past few months that we’ve had a bad experience getting a table. Each time it’s either been couldn’t care less attitude or being told we’d get a call in about x time for a table and this didn’t happen anywhere close to the time suggested. Just not a great service which is a real shame given how much we love the place.

The food is delicious. Hands down best ramen in Manchester. Food is served quickly, too – if you are *lucky* enough to get served that is: Staff are not the most hard working. It's a really small place and there are usually at least 3 waiting staff (overkill for such small place, I used to run this kinda size on my own), yet it took us 20 minutes to be served tonight. And as I am typing this, we are waiting for our drinks and I can see 2 waitresses chatting behind the bar. This happens all the bloody time. We only come back because the food is so good and it's 50% off on Tuesdays. The fact that the place is so crammed doesn't help either. You have to side-shuffle in the outdoor bit, like a little penguin 🤣

Absolute gem! Will be back. We were served by Pippa who was friendly and helpful. We had the black cod croquettes and tuna nigiri to start. The croquettes were a very unique mix of flavour which were enjoyable. The three of us had the Chizu, Tonkotsu and Kasaoka. Mine was the Kasaoka, the broth was delicious and creamy with a chilli oil mix. The bamboo shoots are picked and have a sweet hint to them and the mushrooms have been marinated and have their own depth of flavour. The ramen egg was soft and the yolk was melt in your mouth. If you are looking for a less creamy and more fatty ramen I would recommend the duck ramen (Tonkostu). Both the duck and chicken ramen were halal, they have kindly indicated which ramens are with a little ‘h’ on the menu.

Ramen here is phenomenal. The noodles have the perfect bite. Staff is friendly. Sushi is not the move here. It’s just not good. Recommend coming here for ramen but not the sushi 🍣

Best ramen in Manchester 🍜 Been trying to get in here for a while as I'm not one for waiting in a queue but we finally got a table! It's definitely worth the wait.

Update- They try to say they were full and at capacity- this was visibly not the case at all. We were told your closing an hr early, which is it? Rather than dismissing the issue perhaps try reviewing your customer service and treat customers with respect . Never will I step foot here again. Terrible experience. Looked forward all day, turned up 8:53 and despite the busy resturant we were turned away. Felt very targeted. Shame we spent our ££ elsewhere. If you advertise opening times, stick to them. Everyone around us looks bewildered at the restaurant decision.

Brilliant food. The Siagoneese Chicken was incredibly tasty, and the portion size was generous/well priced.

Average sushi at best, was not blown away and ridiculous policies in place with no manager to speak to! Myself and a friend came for dinner and it was 50% off, we ordered quite allot and our bill at the end was £130 (this is after the discount). We had 6 pieces of sushi left so we asked for a takeaway box, the member of staff explained that on 50% off days they dont give take out boxes, so you cant take food home (THAT YOU HAVE PAID FOR). What a ridiculous policy and a shear waste of food, even the staff member thought it was unfair and ridiculous! Would NEVER come here again! Other local sushi places are MUCH better with allot better service!

I had never been here before but I googled best place for Ramen in Manchester & boy, this place did not disappoint!!!! The ramen really was the best! ..But all of the food was 10/10. The cocktails were delicious & the decor/atmosphere was perfection. I understand why people queue before it even opens-you don’t want to miss out! Finally, Thank You Liz!!! For the wonderful service!! From cocktail recommendations to compliments on our food order, And all with a big smile on your face- we felt extremely welcomed and I can’t wait to return over & over again!

Visited Lucky Ramen on a Tuesday for their 50% off ramen deal.and it was great. They only do walk-ins, but we got lucky and grabbed a table for three without having to wait - though I don't think this is always case. The food was outstanding. I tried the tantanmen ramen, which was the best ramen I've had in Manchester. We also shared the golden duck sushi rolls and salmon aioli sushi rolls, both of which were delicious. With a soft drink included, the total came to just £23, making it good value for the quality of food. Highly recommend checking it out, especially on a Monday or Tuesday for their 50% off ramen!

Best ramen I have had outside of Japan. This is tasteful, flavourful and the chicken is halal which is a big plus. We both ordered The Chizu Ramen 🍜 a fried chicken ramen which is now our favourite, the chicken broth is to die for ❤️ the ramen portion are very generous. Sushi and sashimi were also very fresh, clean cut and delicious. Good menu options. It is a very cute and cozy place almost romantic, the space is well maintained, clean and the decor is beautiful and minimalist. I love the detailed of the wood and the beautiful marble piece on the bar. Cool background music. Staff are very sweet, pro and accommodating. The kitchen is open and the chef cooks everything minute. They were kind enough to accept us even though we arrived 1h before the closing time lol. Next time we will come back at around 7pm which in my opinion would be the best time to arrive. It is walk-in so no reservation needed. We were 3 my husband and I and our baby in his car seat. The price are fair already but they currently have 50% off on ramen (on monday + Tuesday ) and sushi/sashimi (on Wednesday). I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to eat tasteful ramen and fresh sushi/sashimi in Manchester. I can’t wait for sunny days to stay on the terrace! I know from now on, we will come back regularly that’s how good it was. It is accessible by walk and by car and there is a little car park just aside of the restaurant on the little street to its left. Thank you! ☀️

Bit disappointed with this place as it’s been on my list for awhile. Eaten sushi all over Manchester (and the world) and it was average. So I felt the prices were not fair. The biggest disappointment though was the service. We came in and ordered and they managed to bring out drinks to a couple who came in 10mins after us. The staff were not that attentive, we asked for water with our drinks and never got it and they brought one of our orders over and then ran back to take it away and say they brought it to the wrong table. Wild.

This place has great food but some of their policies are really stingy and weird especially considering that on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays they don’t allow you to take away food you’ve already eaten / not finished home. For people who struggle with chronic illness or may be taking medication this is a strange policy. I experienced nausea so wasn’t able to finished my food and asked to take it home but was told I wasn’t allowed and had to finish it in the establishment. This is really weird stingy behaviour. I hope they change this policy as it’s just odd and also not practical. On the days without the 50 percent discount you are able to take food home - that’ll would make sense if there was a limit on how much unmade food you could order home but as a general policy it’s just weird. The food is generally good. I did have a strange experience where drinks were dropped on me and the lady apologised but not much else. Overall the service is slightly below average but it’s worth visiting as the food is generally prepared well. I’ll visit again but not for a while as it was very disappointing that such a beloved restaurant would behave in such a stingy way, how can you make me pay for food and not let me take it home when I can’t finish it due to being nauseous…be wary.

The place was full and we waited about 20 minutes for a table. Staff were really friendly and helpful with our food selections. The food was so good, they make it fresh and it took about 10 minutes to come out. We kept ordering more.

We’re regulars at this restaurant and we usually have the same waitress Liz who’s always so helpful and patient with us, one of the main reasons why we always come back!

How to review this place, well the food was very "meh" the soup base seems a slightly better version of a Nissin Tonkotsu instant noodle, the ramen itself yes better than the instant noodle but yet again "meh". The 2 star is for the sushi it was okay but nothing to write home about, but the wasabi was absolutely magical never in my life could i just eat the wasabi in itself yet not taste anything, probably any other chains restraunts food would have been better. Now the service, well what can i say it's almost non-existent, the staff just really didn't seem to care, i got better service from McDonalds or KFC. Before anyone says maybe it was very busy, thats a big NO, yes it wasn't empty but definitely not what you would call busy.

Food was average at best. Ramen soup was salty! Had sushi as well but never have I ever had wasabi that had no flavour and soy sauce that was so watered-down, that it tastes nothing. Service was the worst! All the servers (4 of them) was so "busy" entertaining themselves near the bar that they neglected the customers. Experimenting and trying new drinks should be done after closing time and not during the peak hours! Very disappointed and definitely will not be returning.

One of my favourite ramen spots and excellent cocktails, the Monday-Wednesday deals are fantastic value, generally good service but was tucked right into the corner on my last visit and was rather forgotten about. Also hoping they bring back the super spicy broth which was my favourite.

I’m so disappointed to have to write this review as the food here is amazing. The service however is shocking. I have been here multiple times and never let it get to me too much but it really does ruin the experience, the people who work there don’t smile or greet you properly when you walk in you feel as though you are offending them with your presence. Instantly this sets the mood and tone, I don’t ask for much but to be greeted with kindness, it feels like a very cold careless atmosphere, and as if they don’t want to be there. A women served us our food and didn’t even look at us, no personality nothing just put the plates down, nobody checked if we liked the food either. I feel the experience of being here just ruins it by the waitresses/ staff in general. I had to get up 4 times asking for new cutlery as it was dirty, asking for the bill, getting cutlery for dessert, exc. the waitress didn’t ask if we had any allergies, we had to inform her, very basic manners and politeness just were not displayed. Also the attention to detail isn’t great either for example, the seating indoor and outdoor is extremely cramped, I have knocked bags and things over trying to get past, very small and crammed up. You can hear everyone’s conversations it’s that small. It would be good if they had a takeaway service so you could experience the food, not the people. Best ramen just a huge letdown for myself bad vibe needs a sage stick and some new staff to lighten up the mood.

Went on a Monday for 1/2 price ramen - food was INCRED! Ramen was so delicious and the sushi some of the best I’ve ever tested. Service was a bit bizarre as we were told due to staff shortage there’d be no official waitlist, so we could queue up if we wanted to. After waiting about 10 mins we noticed the hostess letting her (what were sure were her) friends in to pre-reserved tables. What’s the point in no reservations if it doesn’t account for all? Left a bit of a sour taste. The waiter was fab though - super helpful.

Ramen mostly are spicy here. The spicy taste is more like a chinese noodles but still tasty. The rolls are surprisingly good, they are like the one i ate in japan , the sauce are awesome. Unfortunately, the price is quite high and there is a service charge of 10%. The seats are kind of tight , so maybe it’s not very comfortable.

Very good sushi, with a nice selection and good balance of flavours. Didn't try the ramen but would be keen to give it a go at some point as it looked pretty good. Service was a bit off. The staff weren't attentive and came across as cold. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress heavily plonked it on the table and then sped off. Also no wine glasses available when we were there which was a surprise.

Food was really good. Ramen was one of the best I have had in Manchester! Very small portion of the soft shell crab for almost £10 which was disappointing. Wine was nice. Would be good to have some authentic beers like Asahi on offer though! I like the small vibe of the restaurant. The biggest issue with the atmosphere is the lighting. It needs to be dimmer and warm toned. It is really bright and clinical. It doesn’t feel relaxing or intimate.

The ramen was great and I will definitely be coming back to try more. Service was good and food arrived quickly. Its dog friendly if you sit outside and my puppy was very happy and comfortable. My only suggestion would be to have one row of outdoor tables as it can feel a little cramped at times

Had high expectations after seeing the reviews and can’t really understand the hype. Food was okay at best. Wouldn’t recommend the chicken karage at all as was pretty overcooked. As for the ramen, really nothing special - egg again was overcooked and meat/veg portions were incredibly small. Taste was okay as was service but definitely wouldn’t rush to return which is a shame

Getting into this wee space is such a treat! They simply have the best ramen and sides I have ever had! I love coming here for catch ups with my sister, and the deals mon-weds are incredible value. The staff are always so lovely too. The waiting list system can be a little confusing, I’ve been told there is no space before despite empty tables, but the small space charm is also wonderful when you do get in!

We went at dinner time and it was full as there are only a few tables in this small restaurant. We were originally sat at the bar, but asked to move to a table when one was freed, and the waitress was happy to accommodate us. After ordering, the food and drinks were served super quickly. We really enjoyed the ramen, starters, and drinks. It was also nice to be able to see the chefs make the food! There is a service charge.

Ramen is the love of my life and Lucky Ramen is the jewel of them all. I can't rate it highly enough. It's the first restaurant I'd recommend to people visiting Manchester. Absolute deliciousness. Chef's kisses. ✨

Picture this - you’re done with that horrid blue Monday, there’s probably nothing more to look forward to in life and you’re absolutely DONE. But fear not, there is one thing, one very warm, incredible, ingenious experience that will turn your week. It’s none other than ramen at Lücky. I run to Lücky with my boyfriend almost every alternate week even though the wait times usually are around 20 mins to an hour on a busy evening (which I’m not surprised is almost all days). Their ramen bowls are full of the most flavourful broths and fresh meat. I have raved about this place SEVERAL times on my insta (shameless plug: @anshulaeatseverything) but it’s never enough. I was never fond of sushi but Lucky managed to change my perspective. Their California roll is my go to. All their starters especially the gyozas are just beyond wonderful. As for the ramen I’ve tried ALL on the menu and can never pick my favourite. I hope this restaurant is recognised more in the Manchester food scene for its dedication and consistency. Deserves at least a mention in the Michelin guide.

I have been to Lucky over 5 times now for dinner and at the start I was definitely gatekeeping it because it was that amazing. When I say I have tried sushi all around the UK from the big named restaurants to small authentic Japanese restaurants and this is BY FAR the best one, me and my partner will always compare where we are eating sushi to Lucky and it never compares. I have not only tried sushi all around the UK but also many countries that I have visited and Lucky always is still the standout. The way that the restaurant is so authentically itself as well as intimate, it is the vibe for any occasion, from date night to a catchup with friends or colleagues after work as well as any special occasion. The service is warm and friendly and cannot fault it. The drinks are fantastic and enough said about the food. Stand outs for me are the Dragon Roll, Beef Tataki and the Chicken Karaage. Every dish feels incredibly fresh, bursting with flavour that always leaves a lasting impression on me. One of the best things about Lucky Ramen and Sushi is the unbeatable value for money, especially with their 50% off deal from Monday through Wednesday. It's rare to find such high-quality food at such affordable prices. Even the decor is simple and all you could ask for, (especially to get a picture for the Instagram story). The only possible recommendation to make this restaurant better - even if that is possible, is to start taking online reservations or expanding. However, I also feel that could take away from the authenticity of this place which I would NEVER want to change!! I have a love for food and certainly a love for this place and will continue to make the hour journey that is soooo worth it. Hats off to the bar staff, the waiters, waitresses', the ramen chef and the sushi chef, you are all incredible. Lucky Ramen and Sushi is a gem that deserves all the praise it receives. I have added some pictures from a few of my visits to Lucky and the food is just as exceptional (if not more) than it looks. TRUST ME.

Outrageously great offering. If they were a Netflix series I would watch it all in one day. Cocktails were sublime, sushi and small plates were top tier … service so good you didn’t notice it, and restaurant music so good you did. I still dream about the broccoli dish…

The BEST ramen we have ever had!! Me and my boyfriend have been consciously visiting all of the Ramen spots in Manchester to find our favourite, and Lücky Ramen takes the cake by a mile! Both times we have visited have been nothing short of perfect; incredibly tasty ramen and sushi (which you can watch being made in the open kitchen!), lively and friendly atmosphere, and amazing cocktails - topped off by the fact that they offer 50% off Mon-Weds! Definitely a place that we will regularly be returning to. Hugely recommend the Hakata ramen and the Golden Roasted Duck sushi rolls 😍

Unreal food, Unreal Service and a great atmosphere to go with it. Have been here almost 8x and the Chicken Ramen never disappoints. Some of the freshest sushi I’ve ever eaten. And the starters never fail to amaze me. My favourite place in Manchester would highly highly recommend. (the discounts during the week are a massive bonus)

How to go to Japan without going to Japan.

Lucky Ramen is without a doubt one of my most favourite places to eat in Manchester!! 🍜🤤 if anyone asks me a good spot to go for weekend brunch, tea or even a midweek meal, I will always recommend this place - 10/10!! The ramen is sensational. The broth is so flavoursome 🫶🏼 my favourite is the soft shell crab, it never fails!! If I could eat this everyday I would 🤣 the sushi and sides are equally as delicious and perfect to share. I would recommend the karaage (Japanese fried chicken) and the dumplings. YUM The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely, and they always play great music to suit a day or evening vibe. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and will always try their best to make sure you have a table asap. I walked past this late night ramen bar a few months back, it was closed but the menu looked good so I whacked it on my hotlist and last night I finally got to try it out. It's sooo good. The menu has been updated to the one showing online, (if you want it - shout me up). Anyway I planned to order the Beef Tataki to start but changed it to the King Scallops which is their signature starter dish which is the scallops, obvs, with egg yolk, masago, asian chives, yuzu soy and sesame oil. Was boss! The Tuna Suraisu sounded all kinds of amazing too. The main dish you can see is the Sakata which has a spicy creamy broth, fried chicken, charred oyster mushrooms, ajitama egg, confit garlic, pickled bamboo, shiitake, sesames, crispy chili oil and a wee bit of nori on the side. And yes it is as good as it sounds. I'm defo going back to try the other dishes and their sushi Such an awesome place and really nice to visit on a rainy night in Manchester. This would make a great date night spot. There is like 12-14 covers, max, with some additional seats at the bar - but it's walk ins only so keep that in mind. You don't wait long for the food, all the staff are dead nice, and there loads of them, the lighting is great and the playlist also very good, (Cleo Sol, Drake and Kehlani...) I went down there for Wednesday evening. 50% off sushi night is absolutely my mid week treat! We ordered 4 diffrent type of sushi plates and all of them were 10/10! so much flavor! Rice was perfect texture and fish was sweet. I really enjoyed it without soy sauce.

We visited for the first time a few weeks ago. When we arrived there were no tables free, so we nipped into EC for a drink & someome then rang us to say a table had become available. We ended up sitting right up at the bar with a perfect view of the chefs cooking away. We had the best ramen & what made it even better was - it was 50% off with it being a Tuesday. We will definitely be back again soon!

Delicious Ramen and Sushi, plenty of options. We took advantage of the half price deal on a Monday. The service was quick and the staff were friendly. I'd eat here again.
