Food and service is okay. This place is always busy not quite sure why.

So because you can’t do bookings you’re in a queue waiting a long time.. the queue is outside not even inside. I got their new beef ramen but it genuinely smelled like pee.. apart from that the flavours did not astound me , no lime in the ramen nothing that stands out it was so bland I kept adding random things in it to fix it.. lastly the interior is falling apart apart and so small you’re sat almost elbow to elbow with everyone who can hear everything you say

Small restaurant which creates a really nice atmosphere with friendly staff and good service. I had the Tonkotsu ramen and it was honestly some of the best ramen I’ve had. We only had time for one night in Manchester but if we were here longer we would definitely go back again.

I love the cocktails here and visit specifically for their espresso and cacao martini. I had a lovely one made my Mia last night, alongside the buddha bowl which was gorgeous and full of flavour, will be back again soon!

We had a wonderful dinner tonight! The food was absolutely delicious—especially the Dragon sushi, which was recommended by our lovely waitress Alicia. We tried five different rolls, and the Dragon was hands down the winner. Alicia was super friendly and helpful, and the rest of the staff were just as polite and welcoming. A big shoutout to Chef Reza as well—he made sure everything was perfect and added a personal touch that made our evening feel really special. Highly recommend!

Very busy place. Has a waiting queue. Inside is quite compacted. But, manageable. Food is tasty. Ramen soup is nice. A big bowl of soup. Quite expensive. Nice experience.

Food is really good. The deals they have on good mon-wed are the best. Place is pretty small so definitely not suited for groups over 4 people

Fantastic food and experience. Fairly priced. The venue is a bit small, but on both times I've been I was lucky enough to get a table right away.

Not only did they over charge me for my collection order but they also didn’t give me my full food. When I contacted them both on instagram and via their website, they never got back to me. A shame as I liked the place the first time I went but I won’t be going back again.

We had a fabulous time at Lucky Ramen in ancoats. Our server Zoe was extremely attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. She made our evening!

I went on Tuesday with the 50% off ramen and it had a cracking atmosphere and didn’t have to wait long for anything. The staff were all lovely and clearly holding well under short staffing outside of their control. Despite that I felt so welcome here and would love to return: the food is fantastic and the staff clearly care about one another

The staff here are amazing. Chloe in particular is a friendly, attentive, and polite waitress! I would come here again and will recommend it to anyone, just for the quality service alone. Food was brilliant and atmosphere was ambient!

What a delight!!! Our meal at this restaurant was simply fantastic! The gyozas are the best gyozas I have eaten to date. The Rolls are also excellent The servers including Zoé are very helpful and pleasant I can only recommend this restaurant because it is or one of the best Japanese restaurants I have eaten in!

Today I visited Lucky Ramen for the first time and what can I say, I didn't like the food, everything was cold and the atmosphere was not calm and very noisy, and when I asked for the bill, they told me that I could only pay by card, although I didn't have that option because I had cash, and when I told the waiter about it, he said that on the website and at the entrance there was information that payment was only by cash, and when I checked the website, Instagram and the sign at the entrance, it was not indicated anywhere that payment was only by card and no one warned me when we were sitting in the establishment and I had to pay more than the amount on the check because I couldn't give change. I categorically do not recommend it.

This is a very nice Japanese restaurant. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen (signature), and it really suited my taste. The flavor was so interesting, especially with the duck—even though I usually don’t like duck, I loved it in this dish! The salmon sashimi was fresh as well. The atmosphere is cozy, lovely, and not too noisy. I will definitely come back here again 🍻

I understand it is a small shop. I had a dog the night. Before we even being seated she addresses they don’t have enough staffs to serve. So we can’t serve customer sitting outside?! What?! I call that lazy, period!

Wow, delicious food. The beef tataki is a flavour sensation. I would highly recommend, it is small but every mouthful is delicious and the beef was exquisite quality. The Raman was a delicious bowl of Japan, a creamy and savoury bowl of food that warms your soul. The duck rolls (sorry we forgot the name) are just incredible, a take we’ve never had before other than with chicken. The little pops of crispness on the outside of the roll really improved the whole experience. I did feel the chicken and prawn gyoza lacked a little flavour and would have benefitted from a bit more of a crisp to the outside. That said they tasted good and the filling was definitely high quality. We look forward to trying the chicken karate next time.

Staff were friendly and service was good. The food was okay, the ramen broth I had i felt was a bit sweet for my taste. I prefer a more savoury broth. If I come back I will deffo try a different flavour. Nonetheless, the black cod croquettes were yummy. Sushi was nice too. But both did not give me the WOW factor.

Really enjoyed the duck ramen, but the soft crab ramen not so much. We also liked the sushi and beef tataki. The place is very cozy! But the service could be improved/more attentive — it took a while for someone to take our order. And it wasn’t ideal to have our starters and main course served at the same time.

Ordered the ramen and all of the sushi, it came out so quickly! Everything was delicious. The Buddha Bowl was very flavourful, one of the best veggie ramens I’ve had at a restaurant, no watered down broth. Zoe was also super helpful and friendly, especially as we had to rearrange the table many a time due to the number of dishes.

Staff are amazing, I eat here often and they're always do welcoming. Zoe the shift manager is so nice and helpful and always squeezes me in!

The crab and duck ramen were divine, and their cocktails were delicious. I highly recommend visiting; however, please note that it's walk-in only and you cannot book. I've given it four stars because the service team didn't seem very happy, but one of them had a cold, so we'll give it another try. The food definitely deserves five stars! ⭐

Loved it. Yummy ramen. Was crowded at the time we went. But a table cleared very quickly and we were seated immediately. Aside from that, food was tasty and the order came through quickly. Ambience and service was very good. The staff were very friendly.

Good and fresh sushi. Although do not recommend the salmon roll or the spider roll. Everything else we has was great.

The food and the service were spot on. The ramen and sushi were incredible and it is dog friendly and I would definitely go back again. Just something to know about if you have a four legged buddy with you, you have to sit outside. We had a dog with us (a Labrador). The space outside is extremely small! This means that your dog will get in the way of the staff most of the time and it might become more of nuisance than a good experience. So if you have a small dog a.k.a a rat, you should be fine. The thing i didn't like about sitting outside is that you could smell the pollution coming from the cars because the shop is literally next to the street. If you are going, you won't regret it!! I'd recommend to go and try to get a seat inside to have an absolutely great experience.

The ramen here was absolutely delicious, with a perfect texture that made every bite satisfying. The broth was rich and flavorful, complementing the noodles beautifully. The drink was incredibly refreshing, a perfect match for the meal. On top of that, they offer amazing deals, making it a fantastic spot for both quality and value. Highly recommend!

Visited during the 50% off ramen January offer. Arrived 5 minutes before doors open on a Wednesday night and just managed get bar seats. Very popular venue but very limited seating. Ordered the fried chicken ramen which was delicious. Not sure if I'd have paid full price usually but it was a very good hearty portion. My friend ordered the mushroom bao buns and found them to be slightly tough but enjoyed the rest of the dinner. Overall a great little spot in Manchester.

Ordered the soft shell and snow crab ramen and was disappointed to find out that the snow crab was actually imitation crab :( Otherwise, the rest of the food was okay and staff were lovely x

Decided to finally give this place a chance after hearing many good things and I am absolutely baffled. It's impossible to get the staffs attention but more than that it feels like you are being ignored on purpose. At one point 3 staff memebers looked straight at me with my hand in the air before just turning around and noone coming up to the table. Truly shocking! There was about 5/6 front of house members there and considering they have 10/12 (?) tables having to wait more than 10 minutes to order your drink/food is just ridiculous. As for food - I ordered the veggie ramen and veggie sushi. Considering there is literally only 1 veggie ramen/sushi option I assumed that they would have been incredible, however that is not the case at all. The sushi contained an ingredient that was not mentioned on the menu, that if I had known it's there I wouldn't have ordered it in the first place. Thankfully that was dealt with by a lovely manager and taken off the bill (as well as I was offered a complimentary drink). And as for the ramen it was okay, nothing special. I was confused by chilli oil at the top as well as the broth itself being rather spicy considering there was sweet bamboo shoots and sweet marinated mushroom inside - just an odd combination. Sadly I will not be returning and most of all am just disappointed because I had really high hopes for the place.

I enjoyed my meal and the customer service was super great. Actually one of the best experiences I have had. I only hope and pray they grow big enough to be able to expand their space. It was very space. Asides from that, I loved it here ! Will be returning for sure

Was hoping for better. Advertised on Mcr Finest that there was 50% off ramen on Wednesday after 5pm, we were told this wasn't available. Avoid the platters- mixed platter was only 6 peices, it was more than double the price than getting two of the most expensive plates. The extra premium of getting a variation is not worth it at all. Brought it up with the staff and they short of shrugged and said "yeah.." Food was underwhelming sadly. Service a bit rushed but they did say they were understaffed which is a shame, staff not to blame for this.

Decent place. A little small inside and you can sit very close to the ppl on the next table but the food and service makes up for this. My plate was chipped in two places which I didn’t like, but again the taste of the food made up for this. We paid £12 each for ramen with a drink which is reasonable value. (£13 if you want a beer) Overall I do recommend this place and I will certainly visit again. Great staff, great food, great price 👍🏼👍🏼

The food here is SO GOOD. It’s my fav place to eat and the people are so friendly. But since it’s been getting busier it’s impossible to get a table on the 50% off days… we travel from Stockport and get there at 6:30 (leaving straight after we finish work) and it’s a 1 hour+ wait so we have to travel all the way home for nothing. It’s such a shame they don’t take bookings or at least offer the 50% off Monday - Fridays instead of just Monday - Wednesday to spread out the busyness and see everyone that wants to go. I hope it gets better with the new shop opening because we’ve been so many times but don’t go as much anymore because of it.

Amazing ramen, I have tried many other ramen places and I always go back here, I had the buddha bowl and it hits every time❤️ big bowl full of deep and umami flavours, the veggies always taste fresh, the broth itself is great as well. In general is 5 out of 5 for me, hence why the place is always full. I can also recommend the bao buns, they were incredible as well. And the service was great💖.

The food was lovely though I had to deduct 2 stars from my overall experience as they could have been a little more child friendly I.e provide a high chair and kids menu. I took my children there on a Sunday afternoon and asked if we can sit further inside but the staff still insisted we should sit right next to the door, the restaurant was empty :)

Never one to write a review usually - especially not negative but my experience at Lucky Ramen really left a bad taste in my mouth. Me and my boyfriend arrived and had a lovely table as we were aware it was walk ins only so got there early! As we got there, there was a guy on the table next to us on his own seemingly waiting for somebody to arrive, then his companion joined him soon after we sat down. About 10 minutes later, we ordered drinks and our food and so did the table next to us. Just as our starters arrived a young blonde guy waiter went over to the table next to us and told them he’s going to have to move them to the bar and they’ll have to eat and drink there as 'the owner is coming in and they have requested these 2 tables' as he pointed to the only other empty table next to them as well. Me and my boyfriend were like wow thats rude - imagine carting paying customers out of their comfortable seats to throw them on the bar. We thought thats quite rude and we were saying if we were them we would have politely declined. Lo and behold a few mins later 4 people arrive. 2 young girls and their parents. The 'owner' was actually just a girl who worked there and her parents were visiting her in manchester it seemed. The two people who were moved saw everything! The girl that worked there then proceeded to talk about all the dishes and what the best drinks are - reassuring her parents that they are getting everything for free! She was back and forth to the table and to the other staff. Definitely was not the owner - and it just really rubbed us up the wrong way! Moving paying customers and disturbing them under a false pretence feels very tacky - especially so a member of staff can bring her family and go on about all the free stuff they are having. At least be a bit discreet. Also it is a walk ins only policy - she should have got there earlier if they wanted tables - or better yet, sat at the bar! :) Food wasn’t good enough for this attitude IMO. Decor was lovely I will say that. If anybody is reading this - go to Tokyo ramen it is 10/10 ramen, staff lovely and service is impeccable!

We ordered our food but the order wasn't placed, so we waited 45 minutes until we noticed that others who had ordered after us, received their food before us. It's only a small place with 3 waiting staff and 2 chefs, so I'm unsure how the staff missed this. Disappointing.

Honestly this was such a nice experience. Food wise, I e had quite a bit of ramen over the world bar Japan (still looking forward to that). However I've gone to the ramen spot in Berlin that was great! This was amazing! I had the duck ramen which I wish I could bring a camel pack to get even more of the broth. It's a lovely atmosphere, nice and cozy. Had a cocktail which was a different to the casual old fashioned I normally had! It was very tasty, trust the menu you will be pleased. Staff were amazing and very welcoming, and not in a review way, they were great! If you do end up on the bar seating get a great view to the kitchen! Staff were great at checking if you are okay and run a smooth ship! Plus, I think I have already said this in the review, but if I could have the broth as a full litre drink after... I would snatch it in a heartbeat. Great place to go. P.s. the guy in the weird looking flat cap 😂🙏

The audacity to charge a 10% service charge when service was NON-EXISTENT. I get it was busy (5th Nov, 7:30pm), but 4 to 5 of yall couldnt manage a tiny restaurant??? Staffs were always “so busy” crowding behind the bar. First of all, we stood outside the restaurant after receiving a call saying seats were ready but NO ONE bothered to acknowledge us. One of the waitresses was walking in and out of the restaurant to pass the bill so it was impossible for her not to notice us, it felt almost intentional that we were ignored; horrible attitude when I approached her, almost as if she was annoyed. Second of all, we waited for at least 10 minutes for someone to notice us (with 3 hands raised) so we could get the bill and pay. At this point the restaurant wasn’t even busy. Initially, the same waitress finally noticed and acknowledged us but a few minutes had passed and no one came; same waitress ended her shift and left us hanging. Much regrets for forgetting to ask to remove the 10% service charge. Please change your staffs; this seems like ongoing issue after reading other reviews. What a waste of a restaurant as I quite liked the ramen, but I won’t be back and won’t be recommending this place because of the terrible service.

Disappointing ramen, the flavour was uninteresting, nearly no cheese flavour in the chizu ramen, and the breading from the chicken disintegrated into the broth and became very soggy. There was a knot of glued-together noodles in the middle of mine also. The portion size is small, though I'm not opposed to this at half price on a Tuesday, I'd be pretty upset at full price. I also found the yuzu & honey drink uninspired, it tasted like cheap lemon/lime cordial, no hint of honey. Since I was dining solo I got a table quite quickly, but note that they only take walk-ins and that the queue at the door is *not* the queue to eat, it's the queue to get on the waiting list. I queued for about 15 mins outside at 6:30pm on a Tuesday and heard at that point it would be a 30-40 min wait for the couple ahead of me. Service was a bit overrun but friendly. Atmosphere is very tight, I think they've overfilled the venue a bit but it's a limited space to begin with.

This has become one of my favourite restaurants around Ancoats and the Northern Quarter. We were served by Zoe, who was super friendly and helped me decide on my food and cocktail. I had the black cod croquettes, and followed the recommendation of the tonkotsu and the sour cerise margarita. It was all delicious. We were seated down the side of the bar, where it’s a bit difficult to get in and out, but I was just happy there were seats available as it was around 7:30 on a Friday evening and you can’t reserve a table. It was a great meal, and I’ll definitely be back. I’m eager to take advantage of the weekday offers, where on certain days they offer half price sushi or ramen.

Had my birthday meal here and wish I chose somewhere else if I’m honest. The service was good and the bao buns were delicious but the ramen was underwhelming and lacking flavour (albeit good quality noodles - but don’t really deliver if they don’t taste of anything). Parts of the egg white were undercooked and wobbly and my friend picked her duck out of hers. Also the edamame beans tasted like burned plastic. They also advertise Mondays as 50% off on their Instagram bio but when it came to paying they said it’s only on ramen as the statement has a ramen emoji next to it. Attached a pic surely I’m not the only one who would think food is 50% off by looking at that. 2 small starter bao buns were £13 which we wouldnt have ordered if we thought we were paying full price. Also they ran out of sushi. After learning this my friend asked for something else, which also wasn’t in stock, she asked for another, that wasn’t in stock. Her 4th option was finally in stock.

One of the best meals we’ve had in a long time and definitely some of the best ramen i’ve ever had, went on a wednesday where we got 50% off sushi which was also amazing. Would recommend for any ramen lovers or even anyone who’s not tried it before. Would recommend you get there abit earlier before opening as it does fill up quite quickly due to it being a smaller venue.

Was here solo on a Sunday, early evening. The atmosphere was modern, but it did feel a bit packed. Not really the cleanest either. The Buddha Bowl ramen I had was nice, flavoursome, and felt well composed. Staff checked if I wanted the egg or not. Staff attitude varied quite a bit, some friendly, others not so much at all.

Updated from 5* to 3 given 3 times in the past few months that we’ve had a bad experience getting a table. Each time it’s either been couldn’t care less attitude or being told we’d get a call in about x time for a table and this didn’t happen anywhere close to the time suggested. Just not a great service which is a real shame given how much we love the place.

The food is delicious. Hands down best ramen in Manchester. Food is served quickly, too – if you are *lucky* enough to get served that is: Staff are not the most hard working. It's a really small place and there are usually at least 3 waiting staff (overkill for such small place, I used to run this kinda size on my own), yet it took us 20 minutes to be served tonight. And as I am typing this, we are waiting for our drinks and I can see 2 waitresses chatting behind the bar. This happens all the bloody time. We only come back because the food is so good and it's 50% off on Tuesdays. The fact that the place is so crammed doesn't help either. You have to side-shuffle in the outdoor bit, like a little penguin 🤣
