Kwang Tung Chinese Restaurant in Renfrewshire

Food looks and smells. Had sweet n sour chicken balls. While fresh out the containers batter was nice. As it cooled more and more oil came out of the batter. Tasted good but later on had a distinct oily feeling in stomach n overnight n still there in the morning. Possibly not drained enough long enough.

Great restaurant with high quality fresh food and lovely staff.

Food was amazing, staff were very friendly and attentive. They recognised my friend who was there the week before. We had a lovely time until a large group came in. They were sat behind us to accommodate them all but the noise level meant my friend and I had trouble hearing each other! That's the only reason I gave 3 stars to the atmosphere.

A huge huge thanks fora tasty superb Chinese meal delivered last night for a Family get together-it was delivered perfectly on time - well wrapped etc etc piping hot and huge sized delicious portions with some side extras - would definitely recommend our local long serving Chinese a well satisfied customer

First time visiting after it opening back up.Prices a bit on the expensive side now. We were given prawn crackers on arrival which is free.When we were having our main course we were asked do you want more prawn crackers so we said yes.Got the bill & was charged 4.50 for these they need to tell people they are this price.

Put through a delivery order online about 6pm. Called at 710pm as it hadn't arrived and no updates online were available. Got told it was just leaving and would be 20mins. 50mins later and it still hadn't arrived so called again. They told us again it was just leaving and "might be another 20mins". Asked to cancel the order and the phone was then passed between 3 people as nobody knew what to do. Eventually got it confirmed it would be cancelled and refunded. Terrible service. Definitely do not recommend and will not try again.

Been quality fan hour and ten minutes and still not arrived , was told when I called it would be 20 mins and that’s 50 mins later . Never ordering here again

First time using. Pretty poor tbh. Beef and cashew flavourless. Some of our order missing, when we got home and a guessing game as to whether the chicken was actually cooked. It was but definitely not chicken breast

Best take away in Paisley was the best Restaurant till they closed the Restaurant

Delivery took a while, and no information given when to expect it. So had to pursue this by telephoning an hour later - despite ordering online. Kung po chicken and rice really good, chips a little disappointing

Trip down memory lane while visiting Paisley. Sad to see no longer a restaurant. Has always been on the expensive side, but I don't have an issue with this. Large chips n curry sauce £4.50. Lovely conversation with a gentleman who was on a curfew.

Can't believe it's taken so long to visit! Food outstanding! Staff friendly and attentive. £22 for a bottle of house wine is a bit steep! However, all in all a brilliant meal! Had the dinner for two for £40 excellent value and so much food. Can't wait to go back!

.we had attended a funeral in the Paisley area, we booked Kwang Tung for dinner for two. We waited 25 mins for the starters which were decidedly average. It was coming up on a full hour and the mains were not served. Yet take away food flying out. We had had enough. We paid the bill, £23 for soft drinks n starter. The table was cramped, it was cold . The staff were pleasant enough.The senior member of staff perfectly understood why we walked out. She said it was " exceptionally busy. We have NEVER experienced this in our usual Chinese restaurant which is twice the size and always busy. We wouldn't return. This is dated 30th June 2023.

Over 1hour 20mins wait for the Chinese on a Tuesday night. Food was ok but not worth wait. Very expensive for what it is. Would not go again. Menu very limited and ingredients added to dishes that wernt displayed on website.

Not good, waited over 1hour 30 and had to cancel, people on the phone don't know what's happening, get someone in who knows what they are doing.

We visited on a Saturday evening without a booking and happily we were able to get a table. We shared starters and had two mains and rice and noodles and some beers. Everything was really good. I hadn't visited for a few years but I was not disappointed. Still good food and good service.

Best Chinese in paisley. Owners are proud to serve good quality fresh food.

The food is really good here It's tasty & fresh. Good portion sizes, but I think the thing that lets it down is the overpriced drinks £3.50 for a can of coke? Other than that. I would definitely recommend.

7 people eating. Arrived to 2 prawn cracker dishes on the table. Added 3 more with main course. Absolutely disgusted to find they charged £15 for this. Personally I believe this should be free. Shocking!!!. Lovely food though,but they have let themselves down. Staff were great. Bill wasnt itemised either. Discovered a dish that wasn't delivered.

Travel down from Barrhead to it, wouldn't go anywhere else

It's the best Chinese in paisley been going there for 40 years food is out of this world staff very nice so help full the cleanses is top notch spotless would recommend it to enybody 10 out of 10 🥰😋

Visited this restaurant last week. Overall the food was nice, staff are very friendly and attentive. Now to the food, some members of the party had requested noodle soup, which came minus the noodles; another had tough grisly bits of chicken in their satay dish which was disappointing and off-putting. Overall food was very good (apart from the above). Wine was poor quality and very overpriced at yikes !! £22 for a bottle of supermarket plonk that you can buy for between £5 & £7. I know there is a corkage charge, but come on!!! Early closing hours that we were not aware of until the external shutters were put down while we were still sitting at our table. We felt we had to leave and went home early.

Food was excellent but service was very poor - it seemed like takeaways were getting all the attention that night.

Pre booked table a week in advance for wife's 60th birthday, arrived on time only to be told to wait in car for half an hour, after waiting, still no table. I abhor bare faced, unprofessional liars. DO NOT USE THIS RESTAURANT. Friends, family and anyone else I can contact will be informed of this lousy set up. Long live K.F.C .

Great food and very attentive staff.

Ordered take away to collect on Christmas day. Really disappointed. Food not ready at allocated time, had to wait an additional 35 mins and the portion sizes were very small. It's a shame as we always order from here at Christmas but this has put us off.

Everytime IV had chicken noodle soup there no chicken in it the staff say people DNT always like the chicken why call it chicken noodle soup why not just noodle soup?

Friendly welcoming staff give you a lovely welcome to the restaurant. Great choice, tasty and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.

Such a lovely wee place to go for Chinese food. Staff are lovely and very attentive. I would highly recommend going here as the food is lovely as well.

Great if you're either: Not hungry/Just eaten One of the borrower's Have a tiny, like tiny, appetite. This was my portion of salt and chilli chips & curry sauce. Could still go for a buffet after it. Price was more on the expensive side , the food was average at best, nothing to complain about on the quality, just the quantity. Staff and premises were nice. Just disappointing driving back to Erskine after driving in to try this place, and still hungry after it 😅

Me and my wife have been going here off and on for few years now went back last night ( 3/11) staff helpful food lovely had set meal B table 5 Just one thing I had 1 pint of lager and my wife had a soda water and lime the bar bill £ 9-50 should of said something but paid and left don't think I'll be back 🥲

This Chinese restaurant is very expensive considering the poor quality which is offered.I realise that inflation is with us but to charge £3.50 for a half pint of coca cola is an example of the high charges which you can expect right across their menu.

Just ordered salt and chilli chicken and rice in one tray and a chicken noodle soup 17 pounds and i buy alot of salt and chilli chicken but it was the worst stuff ave ever tasted batter falling off due to being soggy never again and at that price terrible i would not have even given it a star but had to to right this 😭

Very busy but not surprising. Best Chinese restaurant l have ever found in Scotland. Went in for quick lunch after long period of very limited dining out. Second restaurant we have been in recently. Other well known was roughly 5x costlier but Kwang Tung 5x better!!! As brilliant as ever: lovely fresh food, excellent service, good atmosphere!! 31 years and never has disappointed…

Visited Kwang Tung today had the set menu lunch upgraded the starter to a prawn cocktail which was very good , beef and chicken curries for the mains followed by ice cream. All excellent .service was great as were all the staff who were very friendly and efficient .toilets were modern and spotless. This is a hidden gem of a restaurant ,we went on recommendation of my son who stays in the area ,we travelled from Clydebank we were not disappointed and will definitely be back.Strongly recommend

Visited as it was highly recommended. I ordered breast of chicken curry with fried rice (was delicious!!!) and a side of salt & chilli chips (totally disappointed... they tasted like greasy chips with some herbs flung on). Glad I tried it but wouldn't go back.

Had a great meal here tonight. My mum and dad also went here in the late 1960's when they were dating and loved it. The food is absolutely amazing and Peter and his team are super friendly. If you're ever in the area pay them a visit. You won't be disappointed

First time today trying out the lunches I have to say was not disappointed. Food was amazing and plenty of it. Staff could not do enough for you. For 10 pound a head amazing value and lots of choices on menue

Was very disappointed, ordered three meals to take away and they all tasted of nothing no flavour at all, mini spring rolls were soggy, asked for thin noodles for chow mien and it looked what I think were rice noodles so tasted like watery mush. Over all very very disappointed.

Just down the road from us and definitely the best restaurant in Paisley. Fantastic atmosphere, lovely friendly staff and simply the best Chinese food I've tasted. Gets all their meat fresh from the local butcher so they are supporting another small local business. Keep up the great work 😊

Very disappointed in this place chips all burnt and could tell they were reheated and the portion size was nothin but shocking it wouldn’t feed a 5 year old child never mind someone in there 30s and very over priced .. my advice to anyone eating a Chinese in paisley go to the redcap Chinese you’ll never be disappointed for that reason this has 1 star

Got home delivery tonight. Meal was not great at all despite eating in restaurant on afew occasions which was quite nice. Food tonight was freezing. Chips smelled terrible… really awful. Rice Like mush. Curry was not good at all. Delivery was £5 which was ok considering I’m Johnstone however the lady decided to add on more which I later questioned within an apology. Definitely better Chinese options out there…

Very disappointed ordered a takeaway was told delivery time 1 hour to 90 minutes which was fine but getting nearer 2 hours was too much so phoned and cancelled the girl was abrupt - was going to order Christmas take away but decided against it - so saved about £80 avoid at all costs
