Friendly staff. Lovely food freshly made daily on the premises. They are always open to new ideas for their menu.

I visit this shop very regularly and I can recommend it to anyone. Fabulous food and the butchers is high quality at a great price. The staff and atmosphere is terrific, give it a try you won't be disappointed

Walking through Fingerpost one fine Saturday morning I noticed a shop which appeared to be called "Discounts Foods 4U" and which looked like a convenience store. It was only as I was passing that I noticed a blackboard outside offering a range of very reasonably priced sandwiches, salads, pasta dishes etc. I decided as it was brunch time to check it out. First impressions aren't great as inside it all looks a bit rundown. Down the right hand side was a butchers counter selling fresh meat to a steady stream of customers and the left hand side appeared to be occupied by a row of empty freezers. And at the far was a small counter surrounded by council workers. Now say what you like about council workers but they have plenty of local knowledge and know where the best places are to go for food. I stepped forward and ordered a sausage baguette for £2.20. After a short wait, everything seems to be cooked to order, my butty arrived. The first thing to say was it wasn't a baguette but more like a very large, soft hot dog roll. This was fine by me as baguettes can be a bit tough and chewy and given the choice I'd have asked for a soft roll. It was filled with quite small sausages but there were so many of them it was difficult to count how many there were. I don't think I've ever had a sausage butty with so much sausage in the filling. On the way out I took a photo of the menu board and it was only a few days later that I noticed the Breakfast Box for £3.50. I don't know when I'll be back in St. Helens, it could well be next year, but I'll be heading back to try that out next time I'm in the vicinity.
