Kouzina Greek Meze - Walsall in Walsall

I was amazed by the delicious Greek food and wonderful service at Kouza restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely and having travelled extensively in Greece, I must say the food was very authentic. The owner is absolutely lovely and makes you feel so welcomed. If I’m in Birmingham again, I will absolutely come back! Martha

Lovely little tucked away gem. Great drinks, food and impeccable service. Thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails each being unique, food came in a rather very generous portion especially for the price and the staff are very attentive and conscious for you to enjoy your experience. Prebooked as a party of four to celebrate a birthday. Kouzina was not what I was expecting from a Greek restaurant at all. There was no immediate welcome on arrival and the service did not improve. The background music was quite loud, enough so that you couldn't really talk at a normal level and expect to hear a reply! There are no classic Greek dishes such as kleftico or stifado on the menu and even moussaka (which was on the menu) was not available. Most items were fries or wrap based. We ordered two hot drinks. The mocha chocolate was cold and the tea came as a cup of luke warm water with teabags on the side! Specific requests for an elderly member of the family were not adhered to. Dishes came with ingredients added that we had specifically requested not to be included. This was very bad as a customer could have had a specific request due to allergens! There is a large piece about allegens on the menu and telling your server when ordering, so this was terrible to find. If you have any allergies, I would definitely say not to eat here! The rest of the food was average and nothing to get excited about. The level of service and the food were not great and it seems that the restaurant side of the business comes second to the takeaway side. A 12.5% service charge is automatically added to the bill. Looking at the menu again, it does say that a discretionary service charge would be added. However, this is not mentioned at the till so you presume it has to be paid. Had I realised this I would have asked for it to be removed! I could have spoken up at the time and normally would say something before leaving the restaurant. However, the elderly relative we brought with us told me not to as she didn't want the evening to be spoilt any more than it already was. Overall, there is nothing that would bring me back to eat here. Given how hard current times are for both businesses and customers alike, I would have expected something much better. In return I would have left a good review to help encourage more customers to visit. However, this is not the case on this occasion. There are much better places to eat locally so unfortunately, my recommendation would be to part with your hard-earned cash elsewhere.

Visited here at short notice on Saturday. Staff were able to accommodate two of us. First visit here and it will not be the last. Warm & friendly greeting on arrival. Food is fresh and very very tasty. Recommended by the waiter to try the loaded fries and fried Haloumi , which we did and they were out of this world. Beautiful atmosphere, beautiful staff and beautiful food. Cannot wait to come back again. Thank you and keep up the good work. x

Our first trip to this restaurant and I was blown away with the service and quality of the food ,A welcoming atmosphere for families and couples seeking a romantic evening. I mentioned it was our anniversary and they went out of there way for us ,Will definitely be going back I felt like I was back in Greece. A true hidden Jem ,Looking forward to our next visit. Popped in mid afternoon having read about this place months ago. Interior very nice and spotless. Service was fantastic, very attentive and not rushed. Food as authentically Greek as anything you'll eat in this country. Fantastic and will be back. Yamas!

We walked in at 8.30 on a Saturday night at 8.30 ish. We were greeted and seated straight away by friendly staff. We ordered the big fat Greek platter for 2 and soft drinks. The food arrived within 10-15 minutes and was hot, freshly prepared and full of authentic Greek flavour. Really enjoyable atmosphere with lovely decor and gentle Greek music in the background. Staff gave us plenty of space to enjoy our meal and did ask if all was okay after we had chance to taste it ( unlike some places who seem to rush you before you have picked up your cutlery) . We had to have dessert with my wife choosing the portokalopita (orange cake) and I had the baklava (pistachio pastry) . They were both amazing.if you want a authentic Greek restaurant give them a try you will not be disappointed. We will be returning.

Booked for a work trip for a large party which was at a cost of over £500. The wait for our main course was 90 minutes during which time excuse after excuse was made. Had to ask where the food was several times and the waitress blamed our party saying we wanted a break! Nobody had requested this and if they had it certainly wouldn’t be 90 minutes! No apology or free drinks to make amends. By the time the mains arrived we had all lost our appetite and most of the food was wasted. Staff just rude and disinterested. Seemed they had taken on more than they could manage. Follow up emailed and this was just ignored. This company do not value their customers and don’t have any manners. Very expensive let down.

I am sad to be writing this review as I have eaten in here and the food really is decent. This is mainly about their takeaway service. After spending £30, a full meal was missing when delivered. The customer service on the phone was incredibly poor. Only option was a refund OR discount on my next order. First a refund is standard for goods not received. A discount next time would have been nice asa gesture of good will. What I actually wanted was for the missing meal to be delivered. Quite reasonable I thought…answer was no. If I wanted it I could go back and collect. I won’t eat here again; dine in or take out.

We didn't book, but there was space, got seated quickly, had a very knowledgable server who explained a few dishes when asked. Orders taken pretty quickly, and the food was bought out in a timely manor, it was really tasty, and plenty of it, they have a small range of.cocktails and we tried those, they were delicious. Woukd happiky recommend, but just be aware that they put a service charge on the bill, which we didnt expect.

Came here having read the reviews on Tripadvisor and I was pleasantly surprised with how lovely the place was and how packed it was too! (Shows it’s a great place if it’s full of locals!) We were led to our table and received amazing service all evening. The food was delicious and the wiring staff members deserve a special mention! Just want to say thank you to the waiting staff members for all their help tonight! This place is lucky to have people like them as part of their team! Will defiantly come again!

I ate here whilst working in the area and I made the right choice the food was very good 👍🏻 I had the platter for two to share of course and a couple of bottles of Keo. The owner was a very nice funny down to earth guy who was very helpful I would highly recommend

We booked this 10 WEEKS ago as a special meal out for my son's 30th birthday tomorrow, with family coming from London. I've just got home from work to be told a large party has booked and we have been cancelled. Absolutely disgusted !! It's taken them 10 weeks to tell us so we can't get anything else booked up, at this late date, the chap on the phone tried to make excuses but you either book on the diary or you don't !! Honestly don't book here because you will be let down !!

Visited with a large group of friends. Initially, it was difficult to make a booking. I tried several times and was told someone would call em back which they didn’t. Anyway. We managed to get a booking and was pleasantly surprised that the unassuming building which I’ve never even noticed was so lovely inside!! The staff were all really friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble for them. The menu is simple and limited but the food we had was delicious and good value. I was disappointed there were no specials at the weekend and also disappointed not to see moussaka, my ultimate fave. The wine is extremely expensive. And warm. They heating could also do with some adjustment, it was either hot or cold. So. Whilst I enjoyed it I wasn’t blown away. If a group chose to go back I would return but probably not by personal choice.

What a hidden little gem decor wonderful amazing food and lovely staff made you feel really welcome thanks to Danny our waiter for the evening and gorgeous cocktails he recommended 💯 we where there until closing time and what I noticed was the staff where really thoroughly cleaning the kitchen this place is well worth a visit.
